Leah pushed pasted Paul and lunged for Bella grabbing her shoulders tightly and she shook her lightly

"first Jacob! Now Paul! You just can't keep your legs close can you slut! You know wa-"Leah was thrown back by Paul who was standing over her

"stay away from my mate!"

"your mate! Your mate! You didn't imprint Paul! You're going to see a chick one day and that's it! How could you do this! Why would you string her along!" Leah yelled

"BECAUSE WE CAN CHOOSE OUR MATE LEAH!" Paul yelled

"w-w-what? What are you talking about? We can't choose our mates Paul. We imprint and that's it!" Leah argued.

Paul sighed and helped Leah off the floor. "if you mark your mate Leah, you won't imprint. you can't."

"that's not true!" Leah argued. It couldn't be that easy, it would never be that easy. Sam had imprinted on Emily and left her behind.

"its true Leah. Look?" Bella said as she pulled down the front of her shirt, showing Leah her collar bone. There on Bella's collar bone was huge bite mark. It was healed but it would always show on her skin. Leah stumbled back. "n-no. why would? Sam, why didn't he mark me?"

"Oh, Leah. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Sam he wasn't listening to his wolf. If he had listened, he would have known but he was in too much shock." Paul told her, he watched as Bella gently embraced a crying Leah. "what's wrong with me? Why wasn't I worth it?" Leah sobbed

"ssh. You are worth it Leah. Now you have the power to choose whoever you want. The power to choose someone worthy of you."

Paul stepped out to give the two girls space. He was glad because a very feral Jacob came shooting out the forest.

"Woah Woah slow down alpha. Where's the fire?" Paul asked

"move beta."

"no, alpha. Tell me what's wrong, you will scare Bella if I let you in." Paul told him

Jacob growled. "break imprint. must mark alpha female."

Paul's wolf arose. This was exactly what he and his wolf were afraid. "no! she is ours!" Paul phased and so did Jacob.

Leah and Bella rushed out to see the two wolves attack each other.

"We must break the imprint, Paul!"

"she is mine, Jacob!"

"it's not the same marking as yours ! it's different!" Jacob thought as he locked Paul into a submissive pose.

"how is it different!" Paul growled as he tried to fight it

They felt Leah phase but they couldn't hear her.

"Leah wait! You won't be able to hear them. Jacob took the alpha position. The pack is split now. you have Jacob's pack and then Sam's." they heard Bella say

Jacob focused on Paul. "the mark would tie me to you and Bella! It would make our pack unbreakable! But it would still break my imprint to Casey. I promise you, Paul, there will be no sexual or romantic feelings involved at all. I am still going to date Julie, but I need the imprint broken, please. It's not the same as a mate's mark. It's the alpha' mark there's a difference. Only the alpha can do it. please Paul"

Paul shook his head. "I make no decision without Bella. Let me go. we need to talk to her."

Ian fox was having a nightmare a horrible nightmare. The wolf was going to eat him, and Ian was scared. He didn't understand what was going on. Where was the pretty lady with the brown eyes? He wanted to the pretty lady with the brown eyes. The wolf was coming closer and it was growling. It was going to bite him. Ian screamed.

Sam almost spilled his drink. He quickly ran to the guest room where Ian was screaming bloody murder. "Ian. Ian hey hey!" Sam urged as she tried to shake the boy awake. It had been a long day and Sam was tired. Having Ian phase was a scary thing. He was only six years old. Sam managed to wake the boy up but as soon as Ian saw him, he backed away immediately and forcing himself to fall off the bed. Sam sighed, he wasn't going to sleep tonight. He thought back to how Paul and Bella had shown their relationship to a few of the pack. Of course, Jared blew a gasket, but it was worse when Leah found out. Sam wasn't happy about it and he had no clue how Jacob could handle it. He had to go to the elders about this. He couldn't allow another disastrous situation like and himself take place.

"so, wait Jake. You're saying that if you give me the alpha's mark, it will break your imprint?" Bella asked as she disturbed cans of pop to Leah, Paul, and Jacob.

"yes. And won't be on your collar bone that's the spot reserved for your mate. I would mark you on your wrist. And wouldn't have the same effects either. This mark would make you the alpha female permanently. Which means even my chosen mate won't be able to override you. But it would break my imprint to Casey." Jacob told her

"it wouldn't interrupt my relationship with Paul right?" she asked

"right. It won't mess it up. Matter a fact it might soothe his wolf even more. It's a pack thing." Jacob said

"wait so you guys are a pack" and so you can't hear Sam?" Leah asked quietly

"no. not unless I open the link?" Jacob said

"can I join?" she asked looking down. She would do anything to get out of Sam's head and not have to relive the memories.

"yeah. Paul, Leah head outside. I need to mark Bella and then we'll talk." Jacob ordered

Jacob took Bella upstairs to her bedroom. They sat on the bed in a comfortable silence. "it seems like it never ends huh bells?" joked dryly

"I'm sorry Jake. It seems like every time you try to move on in life something just keeps on bringing you back." Bella told him.

"its ok bells. I'm quite content. I get to be close to you, date Julie and have one of the strongest wolves in my pack. I'd say I'm pretty good. Now are you ready for this?" he asked as he took her right hand

"anything to help my best friend." She said

"hey!" they heard Paul shout,

Bella and Jacob laughed. And without taking his eyes off her, he bit her wrist. His eyes glowing yellow. Suddenly Bella felt Sleepy. Jacob's face was the last thing she saw.
