Chapter 35: Alliance part 2

Levy's POV

It's been about a week since Sabertooth's visit and the entirety of Fairy Tail was waiting anxiously for the notice. Erza was intently staring at the door, Natsu and Gray were restless, but not fighting. Gajeel was eating a bunch of iron and I was reading more about my magic so I can prepare for anything. The rest were still drinking booze, especially Cana, but it was quieter than usual. I was starting to get sick from the tense atmosphere and stood up, when the doors opened. A light red exceed with a white belly, white paws, ears and tail tip walked in.

"Hello. My name is Marisu and Rogue has sent me from Sabertooth to give Master Makarov this letter. Will someone please take me to Master Makaro?" the little exceed spoke politely like Charle, but not as forceful. Marisu seemed a little more gentle than Charle.

"Marisu? Who's exceed are you?" Erza asked her.

"I am Lucy Heartfilia's exceed. However, when Lucy was kidnapped, I was left behind. I stayed at the guild with the flower trio and Yukino. Now please take me to Master Makarov." Marisu addressed her purpose clearly and I stood up.

"I can lead you to his office Please follow me Marisu-chan. My name is Levy McGarden." I spoke up and walked up to Master's office. Marisu floated behind me and I knocked on the door. "Master, an exceed named Marisu is here with a letter from Rogue-kun." I called through the door. Master gave me the okay to enter an I opened the door for Marisu-chan.

"Here is the letter from Rogue. I would also like to ask Fairy Tail for assistance to help save my friend when I was lonely. Lucy helped me out of my darkness with a gentle smile and we trained together. She is a very important nakama." Marisu declared and Makarov nodded as he took the letter from the tiny exceed's paws. She was smaller than Happy, but very well-mannered, and seemed to have more magic than the average Aera wings.

"We would be happy to help Marisu. I'll gather the group of Fairy Tail mages to go with Sabertooth. Lucy is also a very important nakama to us." Master spoke the last line while looking directly at me and I nodded in agreement. I ushered Marisu out of Master's office and he followed after us.

"You brats! Sabertooth has sent us word!" Master's voice boomed throughout the guildhall and alerted everyone. The entire guild gave Master Makarov their undivided attention. "Rogue of Sabertooth has sent me word that they are ready to save Lucy. The mages leaving for the mission from Sabertooth are Rogue Cheney, Sting Eucliffe, Ayian Nazomeita, Minerva, and the Fuyuki Flower Trio. I have decided the mages that will go from Fairy Tail to assist this rescue mission. Team Natsu minus Lisanna, Gajeel Redfox, Wendy Marvel, Jellal Fernandes, and Laxus. That's it! You will head to Sabertooth's guild tomorrow morning. after planning out the strategy with them, the entire group will leave on the full moon. Erza, please keep Natsu in check, and Gray! I want you to cooperate as well. For this mission, please set aside all rivalries since Lucy was once a precious nakama to us. Sadly, she is now Sting's ate and she is happy with him. So don't try anything Natsu. Dismissed!" Master waved his hand and was about to leave.

But I shouted, "Wait, Master! I want to go on the rescue mission to help Lu-chan as well! I know I'm not that strong, but I can plan ahead and Lu-chan was my best friend!" I protested and Master sighed.

"If you really wish to go Levy, then you can go, but that's it. Laxus, please keep Levy safe." Master Makarov dismissed us with a wave of his hand and the group gathered. I felt a hand rest on my head and a deep, husky voice speak.

"Well, well, well. How cute. The short shrimp wants to tag along. I'll try to keep you out of danger, but I'm not gonna babysit you. You better not drag down my amazing self LEvy." Laxus chuckled from above me. I pushed his arm off me and looked up to glare at him.

"I won't drag you down! I can be pretty capable too!" I retorted when another arm rested on my head.

"Oi, shrimp. You're helpful when you plan ahead but in an initial battle one-on-one, you wouldn't stand a chance." Gajeel spoke from my other side and I glared at him too.

"Well this doesn't concern you, so you guys don't need to protect me."

"Why do I have to help out those Saber idiots!?" Natsu whined and soon shut up when Erza ht him.

"Deal with it Natsu. everyone, we leave ASAP. So pack your things and meet back here in an hour. Be quick." Erza ordered and everyone split temporarily.

Sting's POV

Rogue has just sent Marisu to the Fairies to notify them that we need to meet. Now, I'm simply left here at the guild. I have nothing to do except mope, whine, and heal.

"Arrrgh! I wanna go out and do something!" I screamed and Rogue soon whacked me on the head again.

"You can't, you baka. Just sit and heal if you want to save your mate, Sting." Rogue shut me up and stared me down with that creepy monotonous look of his. I gulped in fear and sweatdropped.

"A-Aye..." I murmured and sat back down.

"Fairy Tail should be here in about 4 hours so try to look presentable by the time they come, Sting." Ayian walked up and kept me company.

"Ayian! don't you miss Lucy? I feel like half of me was forcibly ripped away and Rogue is telling me to sit still and do nothing about it for now!" I whined and pouted. Ayian just simply chuckled as he whacked me on the head just as Rogue did a few minutes ago.

"You'll survive Sting. Just endure for a little more. We'll have Lucy back in no time." Ayian laughed.

"I guess..." I thought of my mate and imagined her smiling to me.

"Sting-kun!" Lucy giggled and called my name. "Moh!~ Stingy Bee! Stop that!" The times when Lucy would pout and scold me whenever I did something stupid also stayed in my mind. I sighed as thoughts and memories of Lucy were floating around in my head.

"STING! Fairy Tail is here!" Rogue interrupted my thoughts by yelling into my ear.

"Okay, okay, okay! I'm here! Which mages did Fairy Tail send?" I shouted back and clamped my hands over my ears.

"Erza the Titania, Gray Fullbuster an ice mage, Gajeel the Iron Dragon Slayer, Wendy the Sky Maiden, Jel-Mystogan, Laxus Dreyar the Lightning Dragon Slayer, and Natsu-san the Salamander." Ayian addressed all the members and named them along with their reputations.

"Wendy? Isn't she a healer? Can the kid even fight?" I questioned. Also, what's up with the 'Jel-Mystogan' slip? What does Ayian know? I shrugged my friend's slip-up off and considered Fairy Tail's choice of mages.

"Wendy can fight to an extent of defending herself at least and there is apparently one more, Levy McGarden. Lucy's best friend and a Solid Script mage. Wendy will also be helpful if someone gets severely injured and I heard that Levy is quite smart and a fast-thinker. Levy can do enough to an extent of defending herself as well. Hmmm, we have quite the team here..." Ayian cut himself off. I guess he's probably thinking about the best fighting combinations. Also considering, our own members are pretty capable as well.

I joined Rogue to meet the Fairy Tail team, who gave me hostile stares for a moment then went to monotonous faces. Rogue got pushed out of the way by Minerva who tried to show her authority, but Ayian got sick of it and took over. the Fuyuki trio stood behind us as I watched Ayian fill in the Fairies on what our current plan of operations is. A sharp chill ran down my back when I rose my hand to cover a yawn and I froze. Rogue was basically saying, "Yawn, and I'll kill you. Be polite Sting!" I quickly stifled my yawn and coughed instead. Erza and Laxus eyed my strangely, but I faked a smile and waved it off.

"This will be it for the briefing. For now, the Fairies can find an inn and rest. Make sure everyone is in top condition in 4 days and we'll go more into detail during this time. Sabers, don't go on any missions until this rescue mission is over. If anyone gets hurt, we'll have to revise the group and plans." Ayian closed the meeting up.

"Thank you for the briefing Ayian. I'll also make sure our mages are orderly and polite just as the Sabers are towards us." Erza nodded and led the team away. But I noticed Levy had lagged behind. She approached Rogue and whispered something to him. I watched my partner nod before she smiled and the two parted ways. Laxus was watching Levy just as I was and probably questioned her after she rejoined their group.

"What was that about Rogue? I didn't know you had a thing for the little Script mage!" I nudged the Shadow Dragon Slayer and snickered. "Who ever knew the monotonous Rogue could love a Fairy!?"

"Shut up Sting. You fell in love with a Fairy as well, so don't even talk." Rogue smacked me again and I quickly shut up after feeling his icy cold, unmoving gaze again.

"Hahaha, you got told Sting! Now don't go picking fights with Salamander now. We need everyone to be in top condition if we want to save Lucy. Last Demise isn't a guild to laugh about and after your idiotic assault before, Sting, they'll be even more on guard." Ayian warned me and I sighed.

"I know...I just want to have Lucy safely by my side as soon as possible is all. I miss her!"

"Well just wait Sting. You'll have her back son. But you always have to keep one possibility in mind." Ayian cut himself off.

"What possibility?" I asked him and suddenly felt kind of scared.

"The possibility that you may have to fight against Lucy." Stargazer filled in for Ayian after confirming his warning. "Since Lucy has the alter personality of Akumi Chizuko planted in her, you may be forced to fight your own mate, Sting. Are you ready for that?" Stargazer watched me closely as my eyes widened.

"What?" I just barely whispered out an answer. "What?! I might have to fight against Lu-chan? I can't do that! I can't fight my mate! A Dragon Slayer fighting their mate is like committing suicide! If I can't fight Lu-chan then she can't fight me either! So she'll restrain herself, right?" I begged desperately as the thought repeated itself over and over in mind.

"It's not that simple Sting. Akumi will be controlling Lucy's body and she won't be able to do a single thing. Noone else can fight that battle for you because we'll all be busy enough holding back Ayumi, Azumi,Kiyu, and the rest of Last Demise. The guild isn't that weak and Akumi most likely will target you. If you can't fight then this rescue mission is useless." Minerva added onto my horrors and I panicked.

"If I can't fight then I'll lose Lucy forever?" I cried out. "So it's either hurt my mate or never have her by my side again? That's impossible! I can't do it!"

"Sting..." Erza stepped out from the shadows and joined in with us. "You CAN fight for Lucy. IF you aren't determined to do anything for the sake of saving your mate, then you don't deserve Lucy. I loved Jellal, but when I went to the Tower of Heaven, I had to hurt him and fight for him. Jellal was also being controlled, I had similar choices." Erza took a deep breath.

"Jellal? But you're not a Dragon Slayer! The feeling is different! The bond between Dragon Slayers and their mates is much stronger than the mere love of any other couple!" I pulled my shirt down to reveal Lucy's mark on my lower neck. "Lu-chan is also a Dragon Slayer and we've marked each other! The death of one half is suicide for both dragons! I can't possibly fight with a headstrong mind as you can Scarlet!" I lashed out at her, but she easily caught my arm. Tears were streaming down my face as I thought of me facing off against Lucy.

"Calm down Sting. The mating between dragon slayers is no different than any other lov! Either way, two sides love each other unconditionally! I fought Jellal in hopes of gaining the old Jellal back and eventually I did! Wounds can be healed with time, but the loss of the one you love can never be repaired!" Erza shouted at me and a lone tear fell from her own eye. "You can fight for Lucy! The one you would be fighting is Not Lucy, but Akumi!"

I cut her off quickly, "But Akumi IS Lucy! It's the same person!"

"No they're not Sting. I thought you were headstrong enough to be able to sacrifice anything for the sake of Lucy. Is Lucy evil like Akumi? Is Lucy Ayumi's and Azumi's Chizuko triplet? The body and magic may be the same, but the mind isn't! If you leave Lucy in the hands of those Chizuko sisters and Last Demise, I can guarantee she won't forgive you." Erza lectured me more until I fell to my knees. She let go of her grip on my arm and I sighed.

"It doesn't matter what you say...the fact that Lu-chan isn't by my side is killing me! She's somewhere where I can't watch over her and protect her myself!" I gave up and slumped to the ground. A few tears streaked down my face and I covered one my eye with my palm. I just sat there, crying, in the middle of the tense atmosphere. No one knew what to say or do. Rogue was being his same monotonous self, and Levy was also crying with the loss of Lucy. Erza was deep in her own thoughts, most likely about Jellal. Natsu was fidgeting, but didn't burst out in fear of Erza reprimanding him. Gajeel was in the same situation of Salamander, and Gray was likewise. Wendy was crying along with Levy, the two petite girls hugging in an attempt to comfort the other, and Laxus just stood there, headphones covering his ears. Ayian was probably trying to think of some alternate plans to save Lucy and the Flower Triplets were talking amongst themselves. The air was thick and heavy. No one could break it until a certain fierce Saber spoke up angrily.

"I demand you idiots get off your lazy arses and fill me in on the plan! I want to save Lu-chan just as much as y'all want to! Lu-chan's my precious imouto!" Minerva barged in and recovered from Ayian pushing her away. She intervened now after my argument with Erza. The air lifted a little bit, but there was still a remorseful feel in my heart. All the Fairy guys cracked their necks and knuckles, trying to get pumped up again and Levy and wendy were trying to smile.

"Hahahahaha, I'm all fired up! Let's hurry and run through the plans to save Luigi!" Natsu cackled with fire dripping out of his mouth. Ayian snickered and Rogue chose to stay a party pooper until Levy walked up to him, pulling on my partner's sleeve. It was only then did Rogue attempt a small smile. The Fuyuki sisters joined in and split up to talk to the rest of the rescue team, and Mystogan stayed near Erza. Laxus was holding back an angry, jealous Gajeel and I felt three pairs of paws settle on my arm. Lector had a large grin, and Frosch was also smiling. The little pink exceed giggled and pointed to the rest of the group, motioning for me to join them. Marisu also held a gentle smile and twinkle in her eyes.

"We'll save Lu-chan for sure Sting-kun. For now, relax and think of all the good things that will happen when we have Lu-chan back. The entire guild will light up once again with her warmth." Marisu gazed at me and I let out a small sigh. I reluctantly pushed myself up to a standing position. Just when I was about to grin and laugh along with the others, a felt a flaming hot fist punch in my the gut. I went flying back, destroying some tables behind me and leaving a human sized imprint on the wall behind me. My eyebrow twitched and the golden mark on my neck glowed as I brought forth Lu-chan's sword, Rapier. I lunged for Natsu screaming, "Natsu-san! How DARE you!" I slashed left and right, up and down, and diagonally in hopes of getting the disrespectful flaming piece of shit back for punching me. It wasn't until after I used the sword to distract Natsu and landing a roundhouse kick to his own gut.

"Natsu! Stop this immediately!" Erza barked and Salamander froze.

I was about to chuckle at him being scared stiff when another equally frightening voice hissed, "Sting Eucliffe! You have two choices: stay locked up with Orga and a microphone, die, or kneel!" Once again, I felt Rogue glaring at my back. (Somewhere in the background, Orga retorts: "Hey! What's so bad about locking me in a room with a microphone! You can listen to my lovely tunes!") I yelped and instantly kneeled down.

"Gomen' nasai!" I bowed multiple times before I heard a snicker.

"Good Sting. Now chill or I'll slay you myself." Rogue growled.

"Natsu, why don't you be a little more civilized like Sting and kneel as well!" Erza threatened a million swords at the Fire Dragon Slayer.

"A-a-a-a-AYE SIR! G-Gomen' nasai!" Natsu kneeled in front of Erza and bowed just like I did.

"Gihihihihi, how pathetic Salamander. Kneeling before the Titania has GOT to be the scariest thing in the world." Gajeel chuckled.

"Gajeel...Would you like to kneel in front of me as well along with Natsu?" Erza gave him a sickly sweet smile before transforming to an elated look when Mystogan offered her a slice of strawberry cake. Gajeel sweatdropped and held his tongue this time.

"Natsu, Sting, you may stand up now." Ayian saved our butts and we quickly stood up like army men.

"Y-Yes sir!" we saluted with a grimace.

"Pfft, ok then. We'll meet up a little later Fairy tail. For now, everyone can head to their rooms and get in a good night's sleep. Rogue and Laxus will notify everyone when it is time to rush into Last Demise. Laxus, you will be in charge of ordering Fairy Tail. Rogue and myself will be the connecting link and keeping Sabertooth in check." Ayian dismissed everyone and I sighed in relief.

I thought I was gonna die there! If Rogue didn't kill me then I would have died from going deaf with Orga's singing! Anyways, the main goal is to retrieve Lucy. If we're lucky, we can also detain Last Demise in the process. Stay put Lu-chan...We're coming for you soon!

Ayumi's POV

"Hmmm, well it seems that Tigers and Fairies shall face with Death in one last confrontation. I hope we'll get to enjoy ourselves some more...Sting Eucliffe!" I sipped my tea and turned around to face a certain blonde female. "Lucy...You're beautiful, perfectly fit to be Akumi. Now behave. We'll deal with the pesky Tigers and Fairies before you see them again." The blonde's chocolate brown eyes narrowed to slits in a sad attempt to glare at me, but it seemed kind of harmless with her hands and legs are tied up and restrained. I had Azumi also duct tape her mouth shut and hide her scent to prevent any dragons from hearing her or tracking her scent.

"Hehe, you're pretty smart sis! That trash Sting would never dream of us taking his precious mate somewhere where he can't find her. Even with six dragons on the hunt, Lucy's scent is completely masked by our sister's!" Azumi entered the room holding a whip. I watched my fiery sister slash Lucy's body once down her torso. Akumi slowly took over as Lucy experienced the pain and her hair turned back to black. The familiar purple streaks ran down her glossy locks and when she opened her eyes, the warm mocha irises were gone and replaced with piercing sadistic amethysts.
