A/N jello(the j is in purpose, not a typo) so this your chapter 35... wow, I've written a lot... hopefully it's all been good. Anyway I got one review from someone who had a guess about Arlos name. It was a good guess but sadly incorrect( still thanks for putting in the effort). Arlo means berry and another name that means berry is Bay which is a different spelling of Bae which we all know is short for Baelfire... So to all of you who thought the guard was Neal, you were sort of right. I consider Arlo sort of his evil version because while Neal wasn't my favorite character he wasn't horrible either. So... now that that's out of the way have fun reading, I hope to see lots of reviews!

"Mirror." Arlo acknowledged the mirror hanging on the wall as they entered the palace. Arlo held Emma around the waist, which Emma was sure wasn't the proper way of leading a prisoner. She had tried to move away from him earlier, even stomped on his foot, but everything failed so eventually she gave up.

"Hello Arlo," the face that appeared in the mirror said casually. Emma's stomach quickly became uneasy and she knew that it would only get worse as they got deeper into the palace.

"Where would her majesty have the prisoner be taken?" Arlo asked.

"The dungeon, but the smaller room preferably." The mirror man replied. Emma gave the mirror a small smile and he smiled back. She had learned not too long ago that he was actually quite kind, just another one of her grandmother's unfortunate prisoners.

"Come on princess, we haven't got all day!" Arlo said pulling Emma along very roughly.

They exited the main hall and entered dramatic and dark hallway. There were black sculptures and beautiful black paintings and extravagant designs on the floors. But Emma couldn't see any of that, just as she couldn't see it the many other times shed been there, because her sight was being blinded by something else. As they walked Emma could feel the immense amounts of magic just oozing from the rooms of the palace. Her stomach began turning like crazy and her head was pounding. Emma took a deep breath and closed her eyes but it felt as though the room was spinning so fast.

"Please, Arlo, please I can't..." Emma said in a breathy voice as she stopped in the middle of the hall.

"What's wrong princess? Is your magic sensor acting up again?" Arlo asked jokingly, he had known about her problems around magic ever since they were teenagers. Arlo grabbed Emma's arm and began pulling her again. "Too bad we don't have time to wait for you to get over it."

"Please! I can barely walk!" Emma begged but he simply ignored her until they heard a voice behind them and they both stopped.

"Arlo really, the girl is clearly in pain." Regina said mischievously as she smiled at them from the end of the hall. Arlo gave her a nervous bow before she continued, "let go of her."

As soon as his arm was off of her Emma fell to the ground. There was too much magic all in one place for Emma to handle it. She closed her eyes and took long deep breaths, trying to calm herself down.

"I could teach you how to control that feeling Emma." Regina said almost sweetly, "that is, if you'll do me a favor in return."

Emma shook her head as best as she could. "No," Emma whispered, "I won't help you... destroy... everything."

"I wouldn't be destroying anything, just changing it for the better." Regina took a step forward as she explained lazily as if she had tried explaining it many times before, which she had.

"What... is better about... taking... happiness?" Emma asked her voice very shaky and she felt even weaker than before.

"Emma, sweet Emma, I fear you will never see that these people that you think are good... are not as good as you think. They are murderers and liars and thieves and all sorts of terrible things." Regina said walking even closer and the closer she got the worse Emma felt. 'She's doing this on purpose' Emma thought to herself.

"They may be all of those things but their hearts are good." Emma said, surprised by how strong her voice was. In fact she felt a sudden surge of strength for some odd reason. And her grandmother saw it too, there was a flash of what seemed like worry in her eyes. Regina quickly took a step back.

"Take her to the dungeon, I will finish speaking with her later." Regina ordered Arlo before walking away.

Once she was gone Emma felt a bit better but still very weak. She was able to stand herself up without the help of Arlo, and she would've walked in her own too if he'd had let her. But luckily for Emma this time he actually held her by the elbow like the guards are supposed to.

As they walked her mind started wandering and all she thought was how tired she was of all of this. Of this game they play, capture her, loose her, destroy her, capture her, and so on. They made it down the spiral stair case to the dark, damp, stone place that she would be staying at for... quite some time. Arlo opened the door to a small cramped cell that had a bucket in one corner and a mat with a pillow across from it. He shoved Emma into the cell then looked the door behind her.

...

The next day Emma sat on the floor of her cell staring at the other side where Arlo had dropped the letter from Hook. He did it to tease her, just like everything else he did, to torture her emotionally.( As much as she hated to admit it, Emma couldn't deny that Arlo was great at his job.) She sat there staring at the letter for hours, wondering whether or not she should open it.

Arlo said that Hook was the one who told them how to find her. Of course she didn't want to believe it, in fact she almost didn't allow herself to believe it. But the more Emma thought about it, which was all she could really do alone in her cell, the more sense it made. And she just kept thinking about those words: "pirates only care about money."

Money... Regina had plenty of it. Sure she had stolen it or taken it from her victims but it was money, and it's not as if Hook hadn't stolen money before. And wasn't he only doing this job for money? Money from her parents. But Hook was a pirate, what did it matter to him where the money came from so long as he got it? And wasn't that why he kept her on the ship in the first place? Because he thought he could get money out of it.

Emma gritted her teeth in fury at this realization that came too late. That's all she was to him, just a way to get money. He didn't actually care about her, he was just messing with her. But It wasn't the same as what Arlo did because Arlo was always doing it for the money. But Hook would've gotten his share either way. He didn't have to toy with her emotions, he wanted to. And it didn't matter to him if Emma fell in love or not, it was just a game to him. He just wanted to have fun. And in the end no matter which way things went he got his money!

Emma looked down to see that there was a ball of fire in her hand. With tears of anger streaming down her face she threw the ball across the room at the letter. Emma's eyes widened as realized what she just did and watched it begin to burn, she ran over to the letter, trying to put out the fire.

"No! No, no, no!" Emma said desperately as the letter turned to ash. "No! I didn't mean it! I wanted to read it!"

Not but moments later did Arlo turn the corner and look down at Emma who was desperately trying to figure out how to undo what she had done.

"Bad luck, huh, princess." Arlo said casually. Emma closed her eyes a took a deep breath as he continued his taunting. But it didn't help to calm her down at all.

"It's too bad you don't know how to use your magic to undo that." He said in his very annoying 'know it all' voice.

"It's too bad that magic door makes it impossible for me to throw a ball of fire at your face!" Emma yelled but Arlo only laughed.

"You're adorable when you're angry." He commented as he started to walk away.

"And you're disgusting. Period."
