So I´ve been doing good so far this term, not exceptionally but I´ve improved pretty well I even got assigned to rehearse the part of Lysander for the midsummer night's dream dance they would do on our fieldtrip into the outback…which I was kind of excited about. Though I was a city kid trough and trough I kind of liked the idea of camping, during the vacation I had experienced some camping since my sister wanted to have one but that was near a beach, not in the forest. Well yes, first year was excited in many ways about their outing, the second year couldn't wait for us to leave, since the 3rd year was away on tour too they´d have the boarding house for them, just one thing bothered us…we had to write an essay about the piece and everyone was crazy about it…leave it to dancers to become nervous about writing some lines. I didn't have problems with it, my core classes were always good even when my writing English was not the best I managed to get good grades…that's why I found it weird that Gabriel asked me weather he could borrow my notes. We were sitting in the common room. Lily, Liana, and Dustin sorting out things to pack for the trip. Cece and Andrew cuddled in a corner talking while Tony was rolled together in the big armchair like a cat, texting. Gabriel entered holding his notebook and his folder under his arms.

"Hey Aaron can I borrow your notes for the essay? Mine aren't complete and I´ve heard that you already written the thing"

"Yeah sure" I said and searched for my writing pad on the table, I found it under a stack of leotards belonging to either Liana or Lily.

"Thanks Mate, I appreciate it" Gabe said and sat down next to me "Gosh this is so annoying.."

"It was quite easy actually…it really helps when you think about it dance wise….I mean just write down how you interpret your role"

"It can also help to pay attention in class" Tony said looking up from her phone grinning.

"Shut up Toe" Gabe grumbled "You´re the one to talk…I mean you're always on your phone…"

"Still I got my notes"

"But nobody except you can read them, I´ve looked"

"My writing is dummy proofed…."

"Honestly Tony, your writing isn't that clean, I mean even Gabe writes more like a girl like you…no offence mate" I said and earned some grins from the group.

"Typical leftie problem" Tony shrugged "But luckily I don't want to be a writer or anything…have you guys packed your stuff?"

"I honestly don't know what to leave here" Gabriel stated "Camping freaks me out"

We heard Liana laugh and smile gently at Gabriel, guys just be a couple already

"How about all of you bring your bags and things down here and we pack together….I mean we got a list to look up…but this way it´s much easier"

We nodded and got up to bring our stuff into the common room. Liana, watched over our stuff and we packed things in.

"Gabe seriously you don't need that many clothes…and don't you own any causal t-shirts? No button ups"

We all laughed ( Gabe not) about the fact that the dude seriously just packed the shirts he wore almost every day. Liana decided to take Gabriel out for some shopping, Dustin went with them meanwhile Tony excused herself to go training…which was a lie, I saw her leaving the boarding house 5 minutes later in casual clothes humming and again on her phone. What was up with her? I mean I kind of guessed that it had to do something with a boy, she had the same smile my sister had when she giggled with her friends over that boy in her class….and it reminded me of myself…half a year ago when I had this stupid crush on her. Luckily that was over now, I guessed I´ve just been impressed with her talent, sure she was pretty and all but soon I realized (and yes her rejecting me helped) she wasn't my type.

"What are you planning to do now Aaron?" Lily said suddenly standing next to me.

"Dunno, I packed, done my homework…I have free time"

"Then let's go out!" Lily smiled exited "There is this cart track opening, you like this stuff don't you?"

Indeed I did, back in Tokyo I have managed to get a motorcycle license, for a small motorcycle. I started grinning and gave Lily thumbs up. The next thing I knew I was with Lily at this cart track, racing with her, she did pretty well, I naturally won but Lily only came into finish 5 minutes after I did. Later on we had some burgers and fries with milkshakes while Lily and I tried another conversation in German. It was so weird, hanging around her made everything so easy, the way her eyes sparkled when she laughed….oh damn….what am I getting myself into….

I shot up from my seat in the bus, I had fallen asleep next to Dustin who was sketching.

"We´re almost there" he said finishing an outfit sketch "You slept almost all the way through"

I looked around; the bus was packed with the first year, most of them feeling uncomfortable and constructed in the small space their seats provided. Then I looked around…country road…yup…we were almost there.

"My legs are hurting" I heard Gabriel complain and a grown from Andrew

"Shut up Barrington you annoy me"

"Shut up yourself Woolf…and don't take so much space"

"Guys…both of you" Dustin sight then turned to me "They´re arguing ever since we started…kind of surprised you didn't wake up…but you sure were deep in your dreams mate" He grinned "I would be careful….you talk in your sleep…luckily most of the stuff was in Japanese….but somethings….names ….just be careful"

I felt my ears tingling red, Oh god that was embarrassing. Luckily Dustin turned his attention to Andrew and Gabriel who still were arguing, now in hushed tones.

"You´re the one to talk" Gabe said. It probably would make more sense if you had listen to the previous arguments.

"What can I do, yes we had a fight, but that's none of your business, even if she is your sister. She is my friend" Andrew said. Oh it was about the tension between Tony and Andrew that was going on nowadays. Lily had told me about it, Tony and Andrew had a little fight on her birthday hand acted really tensed and awkward with eachother but neither of them talked about it to anyone….I think not even Cecily, the poor girl was confused just as we were. My gaze went to Lily and Tony across the bus. Both of them had headphones in their ears and Lily had put her head on Tony´s shoulder, while Tony was fumbling with her phone again.

"Look " Andrew said " If you want to know what's up with her just talk to her about it…I don't want to get involved in this okay"

"Some friend you are" Gabriel said and had the last word.

"Thank God" I saw Dustin mouth, then he put away his sketchpad and looked up to Patrick, who was with us in this trip, I wished that we could have Zach with but he was away with the third year, no one wanted to have Miss. Raine on the camping trip and Patrick was the pro when it came to the acro version of Midnights summer dream.

"All right, I want you guys to listen up were arriving in less than 5 minute , boys gather and go to the left cam side, girls the right, put up your tents and change into dance wear and meet us in the middle of the camp, we will go through the routines."

He bloke about the procedure of making dinner and the possibility of a campfire and some songs.

Finally we got out of the bus and the group turned into a stretch class….dancers …..

"Get into groups of four" Patrick said and everyone gathered in a group of four. Gabriel and Andrew glared at each other, no those two didn't want to be in a group that's sure, Andrew turned to searched for another group, he saw Tristan with his mates Collin and Phil, then turned to us again and shrugged " Well if that's the case". Gabriel closed his eyes in annoyance.

We had a bit of difficulty of getting the tent up, mostly because both Gabe and Andrew both tried to take the lead and organize it. That obviously caused them to argue more. In the end I and Dustin had built up the tent and both of them just gawked. We changed into dance wear; it was kind of difficult changing in the tent but we managed it somehow. Then walked to the place where Patrick was waiting for us. The girls were already waiting, how they had finished so quickly….well they had Liana on their side. We did the dance routines over and over, though Bubbles interrupted it half way because she got a mosquito bite. Then we prepared dinner, sausages and other barbecue items and lit a campfire. Andrew even brought his guitar with him so we even had a little campfire song. At night the city kids gawked at the stars.

Lily

Note to self, mosquito bites are awful. I first had rolled my eyes when Bubbles started complaining about the bite she got on her back but soon realized that it was horrible. For some reason they just loooved me. My mom always said because I had sweet blood….yeah right…

I was the second who was awake, Tony as usually was awake, normally she went out for a jog or went to the Pilates studio but as for right now she was staring at her phone texting and smiling.

"Morning" I mumbled and Tony smiled " Hey"

"How come you still have Battery" I asked her nodding towards the phone.

"I brought a portable power battery with me" she smiled "So you can load the battery without electricity"

"Honestly Toe leave the thing alone enjoy the nature" Liana said yawning; she gave Cece a light push. She groaned and murmured something about 5 more minutes.

"But it´s important" Tony tried to explained "How else should I stay in contact with…never mind"

She got our interest right there.

"Whit whom?" Liana grinned "Don't tell me that it´s about this Riley guy? I kind of hoped he would be at your birthday party"

"You know that my grandmother had invited the guest, "Tony said but couldn't hide a smile "Well but I kind of saw him at my birthday"

"WHAT?" I probably had woken up the tents next to us.

"You know I´m gonna take a walk" Tony teased and tried to get up, both Liana and I got a hold of her and Tonia tumbled over us in our sleeping bag, Cece woke up. But something in her grin told me that she had been awake for a while now.

"All right" Tony laughed "I´ll tell you just let my legs go"

Tony shifted back to her space in the tent, it looked kind of like a caterpillar, and got out of her sleeping bag. She told us of her walk outside during the birthday party. Cecily was surprised to hear that, she wonders what in the world had caused Tony to leave her own sweet sixteen for a walk alone. Tony hesitated and said that she have had an headache, something told me that it was not the whole truth. Tonia kept on telling that she was in this park when Riley suddenly appeared, they talked and then he kissed her. Squealing from us girls there and Tony grinned sheepishly. She went own telling us that they had spend some time in that park then, probably more than an hour before Tony had got a call from her brother, Gabe had been worried and Grandma wanted to cut the cake. She had asked Riley to come with her but he declined, they would see eachother soon enough, then he had kissed her again. Tony said that she had returned to the Party halfheartedly, later on she and Riley had kept in contact via texting. So that's why she was on her phone 24/7.

"Well that's about it" Tonia said "We met up a couple of times…well if that's enough for you I want to get up now"

She got out of the tent and we , since we had nothing better to do, followed her. The camp side was near a small lake, it was glittering green in the morning sun. Tony turned back to us grinning.

"Oh I´m so having a morning swim!" she said and went back to the tent to change.

"I´m sooo joining" Cecily said and I followed. Liana decided not to, the last time she was in open water…was not a good experience. Tony was the first who headed into the water. She dived under then came up stating that the water was a bit cold, well that was an understatement. It was freezing, but refreshing. A group of our classmates had gathered to watch , some of them returned to their tents to get changed and joined us.

"What in the world are you doing Toe?" Gabriel looked flustered.

"Shut up and get in it´s amazing!" Tony said and took a dive again, seriously was she a mermaid?

"Na…you're the swimmer" he said then sat down next to Liana who was dipping her feet into the water and said more quietly "Seriously is she a water creat-"

He was cut off by Andrew who had jumped into the lake, causing a small wave to splash over Gabriel. He let out a short but not so manly shriek of surprise that sounded much like"cooooold". We giggled.

Later we had breakfast, a bit poorer than usual, hey if you were used to have a full fledges dancers breakfast from the café everything else was poor. Most of the class were shivering, they hadn't calculated that the water was cold, and that they had to deal with wet hair since nobody had a hairdryer with them, and even if they hadn't had electricity. Tony on the other hand was humming while she spread butter on her bread slice. She had wrung the water out and done a messy bun.

"I´ve dealt with wet hair a lot of times" she had said to Cece after the first girls had complained.

Gabriel on the other hand seemed concerned "Put on something warm, wear a hat, or that beanie of yours…god why did you jump in that water."

"Because it was fun, I don't know why you were so afraid of jumping"

"I wasn't afraid" he hissed

"You were" Tony grinned

"Oh if you are so courageous, I mean you are afraid of things too"

"Yeah, maybe but I don't act like a sissy"

Gabriel paused then said very quietly, so only our little group huddled around them could hear him.

"Then I dare you, to a challenge at tonight's midnight walk "

Tony hesitated for a millisecond then grinned "Oh…how about we have to find something in the woods, you know we can leave it in the noon where we have this scheduled walk with Patrick in the afternoon and at midnight we get it back, the one who gets back to camp the last….has…"

"Has to do the others homework for the rest of the term" Gabriel said.

"Oh sweet brother mine …it's on" Tony grinned.

So to quote Tony it was on. The walk through the woods in the afternoon was tensed. The Barrington's twins showed each other silent signs. Pointing at some places, and then shaking their heads. Finally we had reached some strange stone sculpture in front of a large tree and both of them had decided to hide one of their ballet slippers in the branches of the tree. A bit unfair to Tony if you´d ask me, Gabriel could reach the branches much easier than Tonia.

Well the group returned in the afternoon and we did the routines of Shakespeare. I really liked the piece …not only because I got the role of Hermia and acro was my forte. In contract to the most ballet I really liked how the story went. The characters were also good. We had Andrew and Aaron as Demetrius and Lysander, Me and Carole as Hermia and Helena, Cecily as an incredibly good Puck and Tonia as Titania, which she despised. Not that the role was bad, but to be in character she had to wrap these LED Light strings around her head like a crown and she stated it was a pain to get them in and out of her hair.

Soon the night came, dinner wasn't exciting, and they hardly ate due the fact that they kept on darting between Tony and Gabriel changing looks, as if they had an intense tennis match. Patrick came to us to tell us to get some sleep before the walk, he explained the rules of the walk, groups of 8 would be set off by the bus in the woods and the dance pairs should get back to the camp by using the compass and individual maps and teamwork. Yay to team strengthening exercises.

It was 11.30 when Patrick called us to gather; he made Gabriel hand out each dance couple a compass and a map, why everyone got on…no idea. I saw him hesitating when giving Dustin his and Tony´s compass. Then the class mounted the busses, got blindfolds on and Patrick led us to a clearing. Patrick let us take off the blindfolds light on the torchlights and left us, returning back to the bus.

"All right" Tony grinned and grabbed the compass from Dustin's hand grinning. "Catch you guys later…Dustin is it okay that you go with Cecily and Andrew? I need to be quick on my feet"

"Uh…All right "Dustin shrugged "It´s okay for me, what about you two?"

They both shrugged And Tony grinned, looked at her phone first then at the compass and map , turned then darted into the woods.

Gabriel on the other hand casually stayed at Liana and our side. We started heading in the direction we thought the camp was

"Why aren't you running away like the little squirt" Andrew asked looking at the map

"Oh I´ll have plenty of time" Gabriel grinned "I mean she will be lost for a little while"

"How come? " I asked. Gabe pulled out a small piece of metal from his pocket. What the hell? I looked around to see if one of the others had an idea it was Aaron who spoke up.

"You did not do that…" he sighted

"What´s the deal" Cece asked.

"It´s a magnet…" Aaron said "I guess you have manipulated her compass?"

Gabriel grinned a bit "Just a little"

"Mate let´s go get her" Dustin said " It might be funny in first but I don't want he to sleepover in that forest"

"Question" Cecily said "What´s going on?"

"It´s a magnet" Aaron said as if would explain everything "If a compass, which is magnetic, comes in direct contact with a magnet, the poles get messed up, so that the compass doesn't work anymore"

There were three different reactions… mostly Gasps and looks at Gabriel and me I kept on staring at Aaron who was telling a whole lecture about magnets and magnetism, nobody was listening, then he went into Japanese, he did that sometimes. Kind of cute if you ask me.

There was an argument between Andrew and Gabriel, I don't know what happened I was too busy staring at Aaron ( damn it) and Gabriel stomped off with Liana following him, while Andrew turned to run into the direction Tony had disappeared into. Cecily and Dustin sighted and tried to catch up with Andrew. The path now was kind of dark, only the torchlight of me and Aaron were illuminating it, besides the half-moon of course.

"Huh?" Aaron said "Where did everybody go?

I laughed and entangled my arms in his and dragged him with me " Come on Professor, we need to get going" and we followed the far light in front of us , that was the pair of Gabe and Liana.

Andrew

I kept running, Stupid Barrington's and their stupid stupidness…uh Stupidity….whatever. Though I have had a fight which was not resolved yet with Tony , but I wasn't this mad that I would let her wander of alone at night into a freaking forest with a broken compass. Bad thing was I realized that my compass…was still with Cece. I stopped to mentally slap me. Okay Andrew, you just left your safe and prepared group to run into the direction which you thought Tony had went ….of which you couldn't be sure …..okay….I had a torchlight and a pack of chewing gum and my phone. Can I get signal here? I could try phoning Tony, she was always on her phone nowadays… I looked at it Battery was low, 5%...oh no 4%. Great I made a call, then listened to the ribbit ribbit sound of Toe´s ringtone. Nothing. I didn't have much choice than to keep on going and searching.

Then after a while I heard a whisper in the distance and footsteps. There was a light a single one there in the distance. I ran toward it. Then I saw her, standing there kind of lost her light on her compass, probably reading it. I put a hand on her shoulder….not a god idea. It caused her to scream out load (that caused me to scream too) and she stumbled away.

"Calm don't Munchkin it´s me" I yelled after her and jogged to caught up to her, I over took her and let her crash into me.

"Geez Toe you´re sure a handful of-" She interrupted me.

"WHAT IN HEAVENS NAME WHERE YOU THINKING SCARING ME LIKE THAT!" she yelled her face getting redder as she spoke.

"Calm down not kitten" I rolled my eyes " I did not intent to scare you."

"So why are you here" she pouted.

"Your compass isn't working"

"Yeah I know that….wait how do you know…"

"Gabriel kind of messed with it….something with a magnet"

Tony muttered a curse under her breath and kicked a stone away, then took out her phone to check it. "Damn it…it's off…could have used the coordinates of the camp I had put into it if I hadn't…."

"Texted too much and used up the battery?"

She glared at me, which meant yes. I sighted.

"So what about your compass"

"I haven't got one…" I admitted.

"You can't be serious…" she muttered " Thanks for the rescue Andrew…but next time I´ll go rescue myself okay"

With that she stomped off into the direction she was before going to.

"Where are you going?" I yelled.

"Everything is better than to stay there and freeze to the ground" she yelled back and I could guess a smile on her face when she said that and turned back at me.

We went through the woods for a while before we found a rock sculpture and a tree behind it.

"Jackpot" Tony grinned and ran towards the tree climbed up halfway and snatched both her and Gabriel´s Ballet slippers from it and returned to me. She looked around us then quickly said

"Now let´s go back as quickly as we can…I want to go to bed….to tent"

Then she turned to walk a bit too quickly through the woods again.

"Tony wait up!" I was tired of chasing after her. I walked a bit faster, that only caused Tony to pick up more speed she turned he head and yelled a "Come on hurry up you lazy-"

Then she fell face forward into the forest floor, with crack noise. She hissed loudly. Damn it. I got to her and directed the light of my torch on to her. She laid there, and clutched her foot with her hands.

"What happened? " I asked

"Root" she hissed "ancle"

I looked behind her, there was a root looking out of the earth, had she really tripped over it. I helped her to sit up and got her torch light so that I could have a better look at it. It was already swelling.

"Pain from a 1 to 10 with ten being the worst" I asked.

"7?" she asked more than answering.

"Okay keep….just keep breathing"

"Woolfy, breathing is essential to living"

"Glad to know that you still have your sarcasm even if you´re hurt"

"Always…"

I took a better look at her foot, it was swelling yes, but didn't seemed to be twisted badly. Then I looked at Tony again. She had shut her eyes and focused on steady breathing. But she didn't cry. I just noticed that she hardy cried. Which I found remarkable, even if she was in pain she never shed a tear. But everybody cries somehow…even the hardest rocks. I wondered how much could she take before she shed a tear.

"…ouch" she hissed because she tried to stand up. Stupid…girl.

I sighted. Took off my Hooded jumper and put it around her shoulders tying the arms with a knot. So it kind of looked like a cape.

"I heard that getting hurt can cause the victims to get cold easily…just put it on….." I waited for her to do so then put the torched into her lap and crouched down to put on arm under her knees and the other on her back. Then I pulled her up. She struggled with holding the torches and get a grip on my neck and not to move her feet.

"What the hell?" she managed to yelp.

"I thought you wanted to get to your tent now…Since your unable to walk yourself I have to carry you"

"But not in princess style" she muttered something about not being a princess and that a piggy back ride would have been better. At least she would have done it that way

"You might not be a princess….which you are Tony but you sure aren't a piggy to get a piggy back ride from me" I said smirking. Tony pulled out her tongue.

"Stop these rude gestures your highness and light the way"

She held the torch light to the path before us. I didn't intend to call her a princess, but she was…not the typical damsel in distress kind of way…but hey in the academy …she kind of was like a princess…

"You sure I am not too heavy for you…" she said after a few steps her head throbbing against my chest with every step I took.

"Honestly munchkin I have lifted you through the studio almost for six months…you´re a lightweight"

I considered changing the princess style carrying into a fish dive lift…..no…not good for her foot.

"You're still mad about me aren't you…about that we aren't partners anymore" she stated and I stayed quite for a bit. I had been pretty upset about it but didn't know why…I mean I kind of find it annoying that she was seeing this Riley guy more and more…Cecily told me…I just don't like the guy…there was something about him…should I warn Gabriel…than again I just had a fight with the guy. I didn't answer not only because I didn't know what to answer but because I saw a pair of lights coming towards us.

"Hello?" It was Cecily´s voice.

"Cec´" I yelled out "We´re here"

The lights came nearer and my girlfriend and Dustin coming towards us.

"Oh Toe what happened?"

"Toe has twisted her ankle!" The Toe in my arms said tiredly. Her head trobbed against my chest.

"Don't fall asleep" Dustin said "And wrap something around it….wait" He took off the light scarf he was wearing and wrapped it carefully around Tonys foot."

"You have an idea where to go from here?" I asked Cece, while Dustin was tending Tony.

"Yeah, pretty much…Dustin is a natural when it comes to find a way" Cecily said "You okay…should Dustin take over?"

"I´m fine…she´s super light" I said "Thanks for the concern"

"Then let's keep moving the sooner we get some ice on that ankle the better"

We kept moving, Dustin leading the way, Cecily talking to Tony to keep her from falling asleep. Me carrying her, she looked even tinier than usual. 10 minutes later we arrived at camp. Patrick came towards us running.

"You´re late where were you" he started to scold but then saw Tony and changed from angry teacher mode into concerned. "Put her down next to the fire"

I did and saw that Gabriel the idiot and Liana followed by Lily and Aaron came towards us.

"What the hell Tony what happened" Gabriel said shocked.

Tony just glared and grumbled at them, then hissed because she had moved her foot.

Patrick came back with a box from the bus where he kept cool packs, than unwrapped her foot and fixed the cool pack with a piece of cloth onto it. Then he pulled out a water bottle and some pain killers

"Drink this" he said "Luckily we´re leaving tomorrow…so you soon can get it x-rayed and properly tended by Dr. Wiggs"

Tony nodded.

"What happened?" he then asked returning into teacher mode again.

Tony looked at her brother for a sec then said " I tripped over a root, I was angry because I realized that my compass wasn't working…it somehow is broken…so I saw Andrew and Cecily a bit far away and ran towards them and …then it happened"

"All right…then better go to bed" Patrick wasn't sure what to do with that info "Then better go to bed….to tent…um…"

"I will…after some warmth from the fire" she said smilingly"Cecily will help me later"

As Patrick went away Tony turned to her brother glaring.

"Don't you dare say a word" she spat and I noticed that Gabriel indeed had opened his mouth to say something. She fumbled with my jumper took it off and then searched in the pocket of her own hoodie, she took out the slippers and threw them at Gabriel. They hit him kind of hard.

Then she tried to stand up….failed naturally and looked at me and Cece to help her up. Then with the help of Cecily she jumped to the girls tents on her feet. She sure was angry….

Gabriel seemed to be embarrassed, it was me later that told him to be not to be a sissy and go see his sister properly apologizing. He did not share my opinion.

Luckily Tony´s ankle wasn't hurt badly, a few days off using it, cooling the swelling. Then she could even get on pointe again. The Barrington twins hardly talked to eachother and with hardly I mean not at all. In fact she hardly spoke to anyone anymore. Not that she was angry with us…as soon as that Phone of hers had battery…she was on it nonstop….kind of annoying if you ask me….
