Sonette wakes up lying under Shadow's arm and felt her back into his chest. It's been a week, her recovery has been slow but Crystal said physically she will be fine, some scares, but Crystal is worried about her mentally. Sonette doesn't know what to do. She is losing faith. She sighs as she got sat up, hoping she didn't wake Shadow up. Sonette sighs as she felt tears in her eyes.
"Sonette." she heard Shadow said. Sonette crawls over and gives him a hug.
"I don't know what to do Shadow." Sonette said scared.
"Shh, it's ok." Shadow said and Sonette softly sobs into his fur. "I'm here." Shadow then whispers.
"Don't leave me." Sonette whispers.
"I will never leave you." Shadow tells Sonette who looks up at him. "Come on." Shadow then said and Sonette looks around the room. She stayed home last night though she will have to go back to her parents place tonight.
"I want to stay here." Sonette said as she got up and Shadow sighs.
"I know, but you just need to stay with your family for a little longer." Shadow tells her.
"Ok." Sonette whispers and they walk down stairs. Sonette then saw Amy and Teagan cooking some pancakes and hash browns for breakfast and Sonette smiles. Crystal then walks over and Sonette sighs. "Can it wait till after breakfast?" Sonette asks before Crystal could say a word.
"Ok." Crystal said as Shadow walks over and hands Sonette a mug. "But don't try to get out of it." Crystal then said as she walks off and Sonette sighs as she walks off to the lounge room and sits down. Then Rosie walks in and sits next to her. Sonette smiles as she wraps her arm around Rosie who leans into her.
"Morning." Rosie said.
"Morning." Sonette whispers and Rosie looks up at her worried.
"What is it Sonette?" Rosie asks.
"Nothing." Sonette replies. "Just, didn't sleep well last night."
"Maybe you should tell someone." Rosie suggests and Sonette sighs.
"No, I'll be fine." Sonette tells her. "I just need time." she adds.
"Breakfast!" Teagan shouts and they headed off into the dining room. After breakfast, Sonette sat by the pool with her legs in the water. She then heard someone walks over so she looks back to see Teagan.
"Hey." Sonette said as Teagan sat down beside Sonette.
"Hey, are you ok?" Teagan asks.
"What am I doing Teagan?" Sonette asks and Teagan looks at her confused, not knowing how to answer the question. "I'm losing faith, I don't think I can keep doing this." Sonette then explains and Teagan sighs as wraps her arms around Sonette.
"I wish I could do something, but I don't know what I could do." Teagan said and Sonette sighs.
"There is nothing anyone can do." Sonette said as Teagan got up and helps Sonette up.
"Talk to Sonic." Teagan said and Sonette sighs.
"Right, maybe I should." Sonette said softly and Teagan sighs as she starts doing laps. Sonette walks off and runs into Amy who smiles at her.
"Hey Sonette." Amy greets.
"Hey Amy, um where's Sonic?" Sonette asks.
"The base." Amy replies.
"Ok, I just want to talk to him." Sonette said, then walks off and heads down to the base. Once down there, she saw Sonic with Tails, Rosie, Shadow, Crystal and Knuckles.
"There you are." Crystal said walking over and grabs Sonette. "Come on, I want to check a few of those wounds." Crystal then said dragging Sonette into the medic bay. Sonette tries to fight her, but Sonic grabs her and Sonette sighs.
"I need to talk to you Sonic." Sonette said as she sits on a bed. "Alone." she adds.
"After Crystal is done." Sonic tells her and Sonette sighs.
"I just want to check the deep wounds." Crystal said and Sonette nods. Once she was done, she left Sonette and Sonic alone. Sonette stands up and Sonic walks up to her.
"Ok, what is it?" Sonic asks.
"I don't know if I can do this Sonic, being a Phantom." Sonette admits and Sonic looks at her shock. "Look at me Sonic, I can't go through that again." Sonette explains.
"Sonette." Sonic said and Sonette breaks down in tears as she gives Sonic a hug.
"It's not fair." Sonette cries and Sonic wraps his arms around Sonette tight.
"I know and I know this is hard, but you can do it, you'll have a few months off and everything will be fine, I know it will." Sonic said and Sonette buries her face in Sonic's shoulder.
"How?" Sonette asks.
"I don't know, but we can work it out, I know we can." Sonic said. "Like with everything else, we can do it Sonette." Sonic explains and Sonette nods. Sonette walks back, breaking free from Sonic who wipes Sonette's tears away. "Like I said when we started, no matter what, we will be together and will look after each other." Sonic then said and Sonette smiles. Then Crystal runs over and Sonette looks at her worried.
"Rorke is on the screen." Crystal said.
"Stay here with Sonette." Sonic said walking off and Sonette sighs as she sat down, she wanted to go after him, but she saw no point.
"What is it?" Crystal asks.
"I don't know if I should be here anymore, a Phantom." Sonette tells her and Crystal walks up to her, grabbing her hands.
"You can't let what has happened get you down, you may not know it but we need you." Crystal tells her and Sonette looks up at her. Sonette then wraps her arms around Crystal who smiles.
"Thanks Crystal." Sonette said with a small smile.
"Anytime." Crystal said as she wraps her arms Sonette. "Besides, you brought me into this team."
"You had talent and no one saw it but me." Sonette whispers as she lets Crystal go and Crystal walks back as Shadow walks over.
"Hey." Shadow said.
"I have to, talk to you later." Crystal said walking off and Sonette looks at Shadow.
"Look Shadow, this morning." Sonette starts.
"Sonic told me." Shadow said.
"Ok." Sonette said softly. "It's just a phase, I'm sure of it."
"After all you have been through, we knew something like this would happen." Shadow tells her.
"You did?" Sonette said shock.
"Crystal did anyway." Shadow admits. "But she was right and we knew we just had to be here for you till you figure things out." Shadow explains and Sonette nods.
"Right, I can do that." Sonette said as she got up. "Maybe." she whispers and Shadow chuckles.
"I know you can." Shadow tells her. "Come on." he then said and they headed off. "And don't let what happened to the baby bring you down."
"How can't I?" Sonette asks and they stop.
"Sonette." Shadow said.
"No, how can't I Shadow. I never knew…I had a baby and now she's dead because of my reckless action." Sonette explains.
"She." Shadow said confused.
"It doesn't matter." Sonette said as she cross her arms.
"It does." Shadow said and Sonette sighs.
"We had a child, I got her killed before she was even born, and it's my fault." Sonette whispers with tears in her eyes. "I can't move on from that." she then said walking off and headed up. She then walks out and wasn't looking where she was going when she runs into Fire who grabs her.
"Hey." Fire said worry.
"Sorry." Sonette whispers.
"Come on." Fire said and the pair walks into the garage. They then sat down by the impala and Sonette takes a deep breath. "Now, want to explain to me what's going on?" Fire asks.
"As you know, I was 2 months pregnant when Rorke grabbed me and I had no idea and was killed." Sonette starts to explain and Fire nods. "She was killed because of my reckless and careless action." she adds and Fire wrap his arm around Sonette, pulling her close.
"It wasn't you fault girl." Fire tells her.
"I can't be a mother in this line of work." Sonette whispers.
"Why?" Fire asks.
"The risks are too high." Sonette tells him. "And I can't carry a child because I need to work."
"Maybe you should take a break." Fire tells her.
"No." Sonette whispers. "Once I am healed, I'm getting back in the game."
"Are you sure?" Fire asks.
"Yes." Sonette whispers as she leans into Fire.
"Just remember, I am always here for you." Fire tells her as he got up and helps her up.
"I know Fire." Sonette whispers.
"And it may be hard to move on from this, but just take each day as they come." Fire tells her and Sonette nods.
"One day at the time." Sonette whispers.
"Come on." Fire said and they walk inside. Sonette then walks up to her room and sighs as she gets dress. She went to walk out, but Shadow walks in and Sonette gives him a hug.
"I'm sorry." Sonette whispers. "I shouldn't be mad at you."
"I love you Sonette." Shadow said and Sonette smiles.
"I love you too." Sonette whispers as she looks at Shadow. "I just need time, time to figure things out."
"And I will always be by your side." Shadow tells her and Sonette smiles.
