A/N: I am so out of it, I forgot that I had this written already and I forgot to post it…it's been rough. Anyway, this is just the intro to high school reunion mishaps. Enjoy :3
"I know I've said this before, but I'm going to say this again just so I can get my point across. I really don't want to be here." Casey mutters begrudgingly before bringing her drink to her lips once more. She and Olivia had taken to standing off in a secluded corner of the establishment, watching all of their formal classmates mingle with one another while their respective others went off to socialize.
"You've said. I think that's the tenth time now." Olivia chuckles humorously, actually keeping out of the redhead's complaining seeing as she has absolutely nothing better to do. "You think I'm joking but I'm serious. I'm keeping count. That's literally the tenth time you've said you don't wanna be here. If you hate being here so bad, why'd you even come?"
Casey actually pouts for a moment before she regains her composure. "Because my fiancée has me wrapped around her fingers and she knows it." she mutters into her cup once again, feeling a small blush start to creep up her cheeks.
Liv grins widely and she is soon unable to suppress her laughter at the comment. "Oh boy, you are sooooo whipped. C'mon Case, it literally can't be that bad for you."
"I swear to you that more than half of the women in this place hate me and I hope that I don't need to explain why."
"Why-Ohhh! Oh. Well…I can understand how this might be a little awkward for you."
"No shit." The redhead mutters with an eye roll as she folds her arms tightly across her chest. "How mad do you think Alex and Serena would be if we just kinda slipped out right about now?"
Olivia immediately shakes her head in the negative at the suggestion. "Hate to break it to you, but that's not such a great idea. I'd rather not feel their wrath when they both realize that we're gone. I don't know about you, but I actually like having a bed to sleep in when I get home at night."
Casey sighs heavily in defeat as she casually leans against the wall. "We are both so whipped it's not even funny." She states with a shake of her head only to sigh heavily when she sees a recognizable woman heading in her direction. "Ten bucks says that she slaps me…"
"Deal." Liv says quickly, bringing her cup to her lips to hide the amused smirk that is playing at her lips as she is amused to see just how this is going to play out.
"I'm surprised to actually see you here." the woman begins as she locks eyes with the redhead. "You have no idea of who I am, do you?"
Casey bites down on her lower lip, hesitant for any kinds of words to leave her mouth for she fears that they will be the wrong ones. "Um…" she begins cautiously, as she begins wracking her brain for a name, any name, that will give her the slightest inkling over who this woman is. "Um…Danielle…?"
The woman scoffs bitterly and shakes her head in what looks to be utter disgust. "My name is Carol. I'm the girl you fucked under the bleachers."
Casey snorts quietly as she shakes her head. "I fucked a lot of girls under the bleachers...you weren't exactly special…" she mutters, not the least bit of surprised when she feels a harsh stinging slap to the side of her face. "And there it is." she concludes as the woman storms away, before she holds her hand out to Liv. "Pay up."
"I'm curious as to just how many people here you've slept with…" Olivia inquires as she digs into her pocket and pulls out a ten. "Please tell me you never slept with Serena and you haven't just neglected to tell me about it."
"Relax. I've never slept with Serena. Slept with her sister though, but she doesn't know about that, and I prefer that you keep that between us."
"Let me have my ten back and you've got a deal."
Casey narrows her eyes and growls lowly before she shoves the money back at the smirking detective. "Aren't you a little too conniving to be working in law enforcement?"
Olivia grins cheekily before she shrugs her shoulders in a nonchalant manner. "It's a part of my charm." She chuckles absentmindedly looking around before she freezes and harshly grasps Casey's arm, causing the redhead to nearly drop her drink. "Oh my god, dude. Ex girlfriend at twelve o'clock."
"Finally, I get some retribution." Casey begins with a grin, thinking that the brunette is referring to one of her own ex girlfriends, but she promptly freezes as well when she realizes that's not the case. Nearly twenty yards away stands one of the only two women that she has ever dated in her entire life and she is most definitely not referring to her fiancée. "Oh no…"
"Oh no? This is great! Go say hi!" Olivia instructs, attempting to give the stiffened attorney a shove in the opposite direction.
Casey's eyes practically bug out of her head and the plastic cup in her hand crushes under her tight grip. "Say hi!? Why would I go say hi?! She probably doesn't even remember me and if she does, she probably hates me. I'm not going over there."
Liv rolls her eyes as she continues to attempt to uproot Casey from her spot. "Casey, you're acting like a scared little kid. You're both adults now. You've matured and I'm positive you will act accordingly."
"Liv, no, I really don't think this is such a good idea. What about Alex?"
"What about Alex? It's not like I'm telling you to uproot your life and run off with this woman. I'm simply saying go say hi to her so you don't seem rude. Now go, I'll be right here when you come back…maybe."
With one final shove, Casey finds her self successfully shoved in the direction of her ex. Biting down on her bottom lip out of nervous habit, she shoves a hand in her pocket as she tries to causally approach the blonde who is talking animatedly with another former classmate.
As the conversation between the two women in, Casey feels like this is her last ditch efforts to run away, but unfortunately her feet refuse to cooperate. "Um…hi Jennifer…"
A tiny frown plays at JJ's face as she registers someone using her first name, and as she spins around to confront them, her frown fades into a smile when her eyes land on the owner of the voice. "Casey! Oh my god!" she exclaims as she immediately envelopes the redhead into a hug, pulling away and giving her a quick once over. "Look at you, you look amazing!"
"So do you." Casey replies with a grin before she awkwardly clears her throat, much to the other woman's amusement.
"I see that you still aren't much of the socialite."
"Well you know me…but I kinda have to be now. You know…attorney and all."
JJ's sea blue eyes widen and beam with excitement much like they did in high school. "You're an attorney?! That is so cool! C'mon, you have to catch me up on everything."
Meanwhile…
"Isn't hilarious how that girl you make fun of in high school ends up being the woman that makes you feel like a complete idiot." Serena whispers into her best friend's ear earning her a sharp jab in the ribs. "Hey, I'm just saying, karma sucks."
Alex rolls her eyes drastically before she turns and glares at the shorter blonde. "You're an asshole." She grumbles as she crosses her arms and glares across the room at the woman who is most definitely talking Kim's ear off. "You know she's only showing off the fact that she has a PhD and makes more money than the rest of us."
Serena chuckles quietly as she shakes her head. "I would have to disagree with you. Something tells me she doesn't even know what show off is." she replies, snickering when they both catch a pleading look of 'help' from their other best friend across the room. "Hey, what do you say we spike Kim's drink again, for old time sake?"
"Why do you insist on getting her drunk for no apparent reason at all? She hasn't done anything to you." Alex answers with a head shake of disapproval. "Besides, don't you think it's time we find out where are significant others are hiding out?"
"Well I know yours is talking to that hot blonde over there. Whoa, wait! Is that JJ!?"
Alex's head snaps around so fast that she nearly gets whiplash from the motion. Sure enough, her eyes land on her fiancée chatting with who she now recognizes as her ex girlfriend and the two seem to be laughing as if they were old friends. For a brief moment she scowls, but her frown immediately softens when she realizes that she isn't the slightest bit jealous. There was once a time where she would have been insecure about her lover speaking to another beautiful woman, but she trusts Casey and she knows that Casey loves her enough to always stay faithful.
"C'mon, let's go say hi." Serena says enthusiastically as she latches on to Alex's wrist and begins dragging her over towards the ongoing conversation.
"You're married Serena."
"That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to look every now and then.
Alex rolls her eyes once again as she walks up to her lover and slips her arms around her waist before resting her chin on her shoulder. "I was beginning to wonder where you ran off to." she purrs sensually. "For a minute there I thought you left."
Casey chuckles and places a soft kiss to the blonde's lips before she pulls her in closer. "I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't think about leaving. I was actually on my way out when I ran into JJ here and we started talking."
"Nice to see you again Alex." JJ greets with a smug grin threatening to break out on her face. She should have known that the tall blonde was probably lurking around somewhere, fearing that someone else would be invading her property. It only makes it even funnier that she isn't the slightest bit interested. She's not a home wrecker.
"Likewise." Alex responds with about as much of a sincere grin as she can manage. Okay, so maybe she is just a teensy bit jealous. "So what were you two talking about?"
"JJ was just telling me about her time with the FBI. It's actually really fascinating." Casey answers with a grin.
JJ thinks for a moment before she shakes her head and shrugs. "I wouldn't want to bore Alex with talk about my job."
"I don't mind." Alex cuts in quickly. "I've already listened to Maura ramble on about autopsies and dead people. I'm sure I can stand to listen to one more work related story."
"While you two are talking, I'm just gonna slip away…perhaps go find a restroom." Casey says coolly as she kisses Alex one more time before she slips out of the conversation, praying that she isn't making a huge mistake by leaving her fiancée alone with her ex girlfriend. What's the worst that could happen?
Before she can make her way to the restroom, she hears a voice calling her from a secluded corner. At first she is suspicious of the voice but as she gets closer, she relaxes only when she finds that it's only Kim. "Jesus, Kim, you scared me. What are you doing over here all by yourself?"
"Between hiding from Serena, Alex and Maura…nothing." The brunette responds with a lightly humorless chuckle. "I'm actually thinking about leaving here in a few."
"Why? I mean granted, I didn't wanna even come, but you're a lot more social than me. Aren't you having fun? Plus the rest of us are gonna go out for some real drinks later. Didn't the girls tell you?"
"Yeah, they told me, but I think I'll just head home. I wouldn't want to intrude or anything."
Casey frowns at the statement before she tilts her head in curiosity. "Why would you be intruding? You were invited. I highly doubt that's considered to be intruding."
For a moment, Casey could swear that her friend looks extremely sad but as soon as the look is there, it's gone again before the brunette begins speaking once more. "No, really. I couldn't. I really think it's best that I get home. Plus, you of all people should no how I get when I start drinking."
"Yeah, well…" Casey responds awkwardly as she rubs the back of her neck. "Well, you get home safely. Promise to call any one of us if you need anything?"
"Promise."
Alex frowns slightly as she looks around in time to see Kim slip out the door with out saying goodbye to any of them. "Why's she just leaving like that? She isn't going to have drinks with us?"
Serena's face drops for a moment before she puts her hand to her forehead in realization. "C'mon Al, you know that she's tired of hanging out with us. You heard her. She hates being a tag along."
"But we're just going as friends. She wouldn't be a tag along!"
"You know how it gets. Liv and I will start snuggling and then you and Casey will start making out and then it'll just get weird for her."
"I really don't mean to intrude on whatever's going on here, but…what?" JJ speaks up curiously, letting the two women know that she still exists.
The two attorneys exchange a look before Alex speaks up to explain. "Lately, she's been very…depressed for lack of a better term, though she's kinda good at hiding it. She dated Abbie a little while ago, but you know how Abbie is…"
"Still an ass, huh?" JJ inquires with a mirthless chuckle.
"Extremely. Anyway, Abbie broke her heart and every since then, she's felt left out about a lot of stuff because we have someone and she doesn't. At this point, I don't know what to do. Serena here thinks it'll be a good idea to send her on a blind date or something, but I'm not sure…"
"I think it's a pretty solid idea." Serena mutters, crossing her arms and pouting like a small child would at not getting what they want.
JJ looks thoughtful for a moment before she nods and clicks her tongue. "I see where you're coming from. I wouldn't normally do something like this, but I think I have to agree with Serena. A blind date really doesn't sound like a bad idea…"
Serena grins widely as she moves next to JJ and wraps her arm around the blonde's shoulders. "I knew I always liked her."
Alex rolls her eyes and refrains from responding with something unintelligible before she turns serious once more. "Yeah, but the thing about that is, I don't know any body."
"Well, I do have a friend…" JJ begins before she shrugs out of Serena's halfway hug. "Anyway, I have a friend who is kinda sorta going through the same issue. Maybe we could…"
"We'll take it!" Serena speaks up as if she is putting the final wager on a bid. She shrugs nonchalantly when she sees the shared look she is getting from the other two women. "Hey, how many chances am I gonna get?"
More Casandra moments to come in the future ;3 maybe even a little skinny dipping hm…? Lol, leave your thoughts?
