Hello again! Got the next chapter done. Though I feel I have to apologize for it being short again. I couldn't think of anything else to add to the chapter that would make sense. I promise that I'll do everything in my power to get the chapter length back to normal next time.
Also, I'd like to answer a question I got in the reviews. I would've answered it a lot sooner but I wasn't able to PM you, so sorry about that Blue Fox Fire.
Yes, Lala (the Dullahan) will be added to the harem. To what extent her character's roll will play in the story isn't something I can say at the moment though. She doesn't really appear in the manga that often so I'm still trying to figure out her character for the most part.
'Damn alarm-clock' were the first thoughts in Naruto's head as the beeping dragged him away from the little sleep he managed to get last night. He and his mother had stayed up far latter than anyone else in the house and for most of the night they told each other about themselves and recounted stories from their pasts. Naruto still remembers her tail about how she fell in love with Minato after he saved her from Kumo shinobi, and the reactions she gave when he told her about some of the missions he had been on were priceless for the blond.
Now however the blond shinobi was paying for the late night conversation as his hand slammed down on the alarm-clock to silence it. 'Sleeping in late once wouldn't hurt, right?' Naruto thought to himself still half asleep as her gives the best glare he currently can at his alarm-clock.
Roughly half an hour later
'Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!' Naruto repeatedly shouted inside his head as he ran for the kitchen/dinning room. Just as he was about to once again berate himself for forgetting to get everyone's food ready the blond slid to a halt at the rooms entrance and simply let the scene in front of him snick in.
"Finally awake I see" Kushina comments with a warm smile as she looks over her shoulder at her son with her hair pulled back into a ponytail and a light pink bandanna covering the top of her head and Naruto's orange apron over the clothes she borrowed from Mia. In her left hand she held a spatula and in her other was the handle of the frying pan with a nearly finished pancake to match stacks she had on the counter behind her.
At the table in the dinning aria of the room sat Kurama and Jiraiya, both of which giving him their own greetings. 'Why does this feel weird?' Naruto questioned as he looked at the two with an odd loom on his face. Other than seeming a little to gleeful the old pervert didn't seem all that off today, but Kurama on the other hand.
"I heard you had a late night. Did you get enough rest?" Kurama asks with seemingly natural kind tone and smile that sent a cold chill down his spin. The blond was about to voice his thoughts when the fox cut him off. "'Just keep your mouth shut and play along'" Kurama ordered through their mental link.
"What are you doing just standing over there? Take a seat and I'll have a big stack of pancakes in front of you shortly" Kushina tells Naruto before going back to cooking with a joyful expression and humming happily at being able to cook for her son.
"Oh, right" Naruto says as he reaches up to scratch the back of his head. "Guess I'm just use to always cooking for everyone" the blond comments as he makes his way to the table while giving Kurama a skeptical look the whole way.
"With as often as Jiraiya goes bar hoping I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't even know how to cook" Kushina jokingly says as she finishes up the last of the cooking. "But you wont have to worry about that any more. Mom's always ready to help out with the cooking!" the red head declares as she scoops up three of the plates, turns on the the spot, and makes her way over to the table.
"Come on Kushina" Jiraiya whines in a mocking tone as the woman slides the plates in front of each of them. "I do important work in bars. There the perfect place for gathering information" the old pervert defends himself with a smile on his face.
"Well I'm just grateful you didn't teach my baby any of your bad habits" Kushina says as she leans back up with her hands placed just above her hips.
"Hahaha Yeah! You would've killed me if I did that huh? Hahaha" Jiraiya says with an almost forced smile as he acts like his normal self.
After giving the man one last glance the bond turns his attention back to Kurama. 'Okay, I seriously need an explanation. This feels way too weird' Naruto tells the orange haired fox.
"'I don't want to deal with her if she figures out who I am and Jiraiya doesn't want to be skinned alive if she figures out he never raised you. So I agreed to have both of use keep our mouths shut if he doesn't say anything about me'" Kurama tells the blond as the feeling of her glare weighs down on him despite her expression staying the same happy expression. "He really did turn out to be a wonderful young man. You must be so proud of him" Kurama say to Kushina with her happy expression.
"How could I not be?" Kushina says with a happy tone as she looks over her shoulder at the bijuu as she moves over to the counter to grab a few more plates. "You're such a nice girl. I can't believe that we haven't met before, you feel so familiar" the red head comments as she swoops up a few more plates to bring back to the table.
"I'm sure it's just in your head. I would defiantly remember such a wonderful woman like you Kushina" Kurama tells her as she starts to cut up her pancakes.
'I think I'm starting to regret not sleeping in longer' Naruto mentally comments as he stares at the others.
Konoha T&I department
"Everything about what you said checks out Lord Fourth. After the Hokage has a word with you you'll be free to go" a man with a stern expression, two visible scares on his face, one starting just below his right eye and running parallel to the one starting under the bandanna/forehead protector and ending just short of his chin, and a black trench coat over grey clothes tells Minato.
"Right. Thank you, um, Ibiki right?" Minato says from his chair in the center of the empty square room. With a small nod Ibiki turns to stand out of the way as the door opens up to let Tsunade walk in. "So, am I free to go?" Minato asks with a nervous grin as he looks at Tsunade's serious expression.
"We've sent out shinobi to go door to door informing the village of your revival so it should be safe for you to go walking about" Tsunade tells him as she stands there with her arms crossed while tapping Minato's medical report against her side. Seeing the man's brief look of joy turn to one of slight worry as he turns his attention to the folder in her hand the woman lets out a sigh and says what she came there to say. "As you requested we added more in-depth chakra tests to your medical check up" Tsunade starts not really wanting to tell him this.
"And? What were the results?" Minato asks with a worried look as he leans forward in his chair.
"Compared to your last check up your chakra levels are pathetic" Tsunade tells him feeling a blunt approach would be better than trying to dance around the subject. "You're barely at a fifth of what you should be and there's no sign of it increasing past that. I'd like you to tell Kushina to come to the hospital as soon as she can. I want to see if anything is wrong with her chakra system" Tsunade tells the man who had taken a thinking pose half way through what Tsunade was saying.
After a moment he glances up at the woman and asks "Is my chakra system damaged?".
Shaking her head Tsunade lets her arms drop down as she shrugged and tells him "No damage was found. You just don't have as much chakra. We're genuinely confused as to the cause".
"Right" Minato says as he stands up. "I'll let Kushina know as soon as I see her" the former blond Hokage tells the current blond Hokage as she passes her with an optimistic look. Walking down the hall headed towards the exit the man returns to a pondering expression. 'I'm sure this has something to do with the sealing. If Kushina's chakra is normal it'll only confirm that the best explanation would be the rest of my chakra is stuck inside the Shinigami's stomach' the man concludes as he continues to walk down the hall.
