Symmetrical Love

A series of drabbles about Liz and Kid and their relationship. Each Drabble will bounce back and forward through their relationship. Updated when I get an idea.

Chapter 36: Insanity

Kid was dressed in all black. Five vertical lines cross his mouth. His amber eyes were cold and the smile that spread across his face lack any sort of warmth or compassion. Kid was usually stoic but he was never cold or cruel. As Liz stared at him the more she did the more bizarre it seemed like a terrible fun house mirror's reflection of Kid.

Kid stood on top of the Academy as he judge the world beneath him. The City and the world beyond just seemed to have started to crumble into nothingness.

Kid smiled with this wicked delight as the scream of people filled the air and then began to fade.

"No…No….. No, no, nonononononon!" Liz began to yell.

This wasn't Kid. This wasn't the Kid she knew. This wasn't her Kid. It wasn't Kid…

She heard his voice calling to her. "Liz…. Liz…Liz…. Liz!"

Liz jolted up, her body covered in sweat and breathing rapidly. "Kid?"

Liz looked around, finding herself in the bed she tended to share with Kid.

Concern filled Kid's eyes, "Liz, you were having a nightmare. Are you alright?"

Liz turned to him and let the words settle in. She pulled him close and hugged to assure herself that this was real. That this was the real Kid, her Kid. The Kid that cared about others, the she cared about.

Liz had at best only gotten a glimpse at the Insane Kid when he fought Noah but Black Star told them about it. About how Kid was driven mad and wanted to destroy everything to create perfect balance.

Kid didn't really like talking about it but Liz could tell he was uneasy about it. Liz herself didn't like thinking about, she was afraid that she would lose Kid to the madness. Her common sense told her that Kid was stronger than to let that happen but the fear was there that she would lose him.

"I'm here, Liz." Kid held her.

Liz tried to focus on the words and the tender affection. She didn't like thinking she'd lose Kid to anything even to madness.

What she didn't know was that for Kid her presence was enough for him to know that he wouldn't fall into madness. For Kid she was what made him feel human and pulled him away from being a god fallen to madness.

Authors Notes: Todays theme was insanity and I hope I did a good job. I didn't really have a lot of ideas Anyway let me know what you think by leaving a review.
