Day Two: So this is the second day of mass updates. Starting to really hate that I procrastinated. Tomorrow the updates will be later in the day due to my academic pursuits...ergo I have Chemistry and won't be getting out of school until almost 7 PM my time.
Chapter Thirty Six
February 14, 2016. 0520 Hours
It had been little under two weeks since Loki had shown up in Tommy's office, and currently he was sitting staring at her. She was seated beside Thor watching him. Her eyes would flicker between lavender and silver. Whenever her eyes were silver she would say or do something claiming that it was important. However, when her eyes were lavender, she would sit perfectly still and stare back at him.
He was beginning to wonder how powerful she really was. Seeing the door that led to his cell crash open, he raised an eyebrow. Hunger gnawed at him slightly, but he chose to ignore it as Director Fury stormed in. the bald black man gave Loki a quick glare before looking down at the tired form of the little Norn.
"You should have informed me that you and the Avengers had a prisoner." Fury stated flatly.
"Every future I saw where we told you up front ended in the total annihilation of the world." She countered, eyes flashing silver for a second. "I do hope you remember that my visions are the exact reason you put me in my job position, Director Fury."
Fury scowled at her before looking at Thor. "How much trouble has Agent Tommy been for you?"
"I hardly notice the child." Thor answered. He seemed convincing enough to Fury when the angry Director left.
Tommy glanced at Thor slightly stunned. She waited, however, for Director Fury to completely leave before speaking up. "You just lied to him. I have been nothing but trouble for you."
"You merely speak of things I do not understand, that is hardly trouble."
"Remind me to get you a box of poptarts later." She said with a smirk. Slowly she stood up and strode over to the glass barrier between them and Loki. "Ready to talk yet Loki?"
Loki sneered at the small woman. It had taken quite a bit of consideration to realize that she was truly a woman. Her dress, hair, and mannerisms spoke of a confidant young man. It wasn't until he saw her hesitate around the other men in the building that he was certain she was a woman. "Perhaps you only need convince me."
She winced at the slight velvety tone he was using. The old pain of what happened to her flared to life. The man had used honey sweet words, coated in silver to win her over. She was only a child when it happened – perhaps 10 years old. She spent the following 2 years hunting him down just to kill him with her bare hands. Now Loki was using the same voice inflections as that man.
Forcing down the old anger and hate, she glanced at his shoulder and hand. They had healed nicely considering she shot him and point blank range. "How are you feeling?"
"Is this concern?" He asked while smirking at her. "Barton told me about you as well Agent Tommy, when I had his mind 3 years ago."
She narrowed her eyes. She hated that Fury had put her name down as a potential candidate for the Avengers Initiative. Barton only knew the things he knew because of how he had to teach her control. He was one of the few men she could stand actually touching her. "Tell me, what you actually know Loki."
"You were raped as a child. In a fit of rage you tracked that man down and killed him two years later."
"Then you only know part of the tale." She grinned before slamming her hands against the glass. Her forehead pressed onto the cool surface. "He didn't just rape me, he tricked me. Told me that he could stop the visions. Make the voices silent. He stabbed a needle into my arm and doped me up on heroine. He tied me down in that dark dank apartment and proceeded to rape me. I spent 4 days locked up. When he finally let me go I wasn't a child. I was a shell. I didn't just kill him when I found him. I split him. I made him go through the blood eagle."
Loki stopped smirking and she watched in satisfaction as his face paled even more.
"Don't ever try to manipulate me Loki, son of Laufey. It will end in your demise." She pulled away and marched out of the room. As she made her way to her office, she noticed someone was following her. It wasn't so much of a notice, as she knew that they were following her. "Hawkeye."
"Hey kid," Hawkeye dropped down from the ventilation shaft and stood to her left. "I heard you talking to Loki."
"I don't blame you that he knows." She stated quickly, before he could apologize. "He had you in that nasty brainwash thing. Magic and Monsters aren't anything that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents are trained for."
"Still, I tried to fight it."
And that is why he still doesn't know the depth of my suffering. He never will. She grinned to herself while patting Barton on the shoulder. "I could use a good cup of coffee if you're willing to sit with me."
"Sure thing kid." Hawkeye started to walk with her. "How are things going otherwise?"
"Loki is stubborn as hell, my hunger is gnawing at me, and I have a headache from fighting the visions." She answered curtly. "I wish…that I could strangle him, it might relieve some of my tension."
"I heard he almost got the drop on you when he first appeared in your office."
"Almost, yes, but I saw his plan and stopped him." Tommy shivered at the thought of what could have happened. The thought that he could have easily killed her without hesitation reminded her about herself. She didn't have time to hesitate anymore. She needed to start acting fast and decisively. There was no time to just react to events as they happened anymore.
She was also unafraid to kill if absolutely necessary. That was what made her different from Jessica and even Avril. They didn't want to kill at all. They used their powers to incapacitate the enemy and take them prisoner. She killed, or shot them to wound them. That was probably why Fury had her as a personal assistant rather than a field agent.
