Hello, this is the new chapter of A BLZEing Remnant. I did have this done yesterday but I didn't post it since there were a few errors I fixed and I lost a decent amount of blood and was loopy so I didn't want to have the errors be replaced with fsouhwfgnsjuf fshqf ihdew fudbwse, so I waited. Anyway, Black Boot Society stuff in a few chapters, and we are not doing a BLZE/AQRS mission.
Well, Enjoy
"So are we still avoiding team RWBY?" Zaria asked looking over at Blaise as RWBY turned away from their team.
"Well, we're not avoiding RWBY, just Yang," Blaise confirmed as he looked over at his teammates. "And where is JNPR? We never see them."
"I just thought they don't do much with Pyrrha and Jaune training after classes and Ren and Nora doing… whatever they do," Lapis said.
"It's actually kind of weird, they were doing a lot of stuff in the first semester, but then in the second semester they haven't actually done anything noteworthy," Eva said.
"That usually means they are being good students, think about it," Blaise said stopping in front of his team, "When was the last time you guys remember doing your homework?"
"We had homework?" Lapis asked nearly dropping his books.
"Yeah, now think about this. When was the last time you remember we were in a class other than a combat one where we didn't participate in the fighting?"
"Holy shit," Zaria said coming to the realization.
"Yeah, I don't even recall the classes we have had for the last few weeks. I mean seriously, the last thing I even remember even closely relating to a class was when we fought AQRS and I was pinned to the wall," Blaise said making Eva even come to the realization.
*Thunder Booms*
J. Van A: STOP COMING TO REALIZATIONS! Just… just… you know what? Fuck it.
[Memory wipe: Initiate]
"So what were we talking about?" Blaise asked as the three of his teammates picked up their books.
"We were heading to class," Lapis said standing up then started jogging towards Port's class.
"We should probably go. Come on," Eva said grabbing Blaise by the arm and pulled him to the main buildings with Zaria following behind.
"So, are you guys ready to sleep?" Blaise asked his team as they sat in their chairs waiting for Professor Port to come in to the classroom.
"You know, now that you've said that, something is going to happen, right?" Lapis asked taking off his Beacon jacket to create a makeshift pillow.
"What could possibly happen?" Blaise asked then the doors opened. "Oh, no."
"What do you mean 'Oh, no'?" Zaria asked in mid-fold of her jacket. Then she looked at the door. "Oh, no."
"What are you two talking abo-" Eva asked but stopped as she looked at the door. "Oh, no."
"What is going on?" Lapis asked resting his head on the jacket.
"No sleeping!" he heard a voice shout before there was a gunshot and a rubber bullet hitting Lapis in the head.
"Ahhh! What the heck?!" Lapis shouted holding his head in pain as he looked at the door.
"Alright," Lucia said entering the room wearing her new outfit, "My name is Lucia Campione, but I would prefer you all call me Lucia." Blaise looked at her new outfit and was surprised. She had taken the Haven uniform jacket and took off the sleeves then put the Campione symbol right above her heart. Her black trench coat also had the sleeves taken off exposing her arms. Other than the fact she was wearing her black cargo pants and boots, she had taken off the beret and switched her sunglasses for Blaise's red goggles she wore on her forehead. "Professor Port is currently on a mission with a second year team and where you would usually have classes with him cancelled for the day, Headmaster Ozpin decided to send me in as a replacement for the day or so. Any questions? And before you ask, yes I am Blaise's older sister."
"How much older?" one of the male students in the back asked before Lucia pulled out her pistol and fired a rubber bullet hitting him in the forehead shocking a couple students.
"He'll be fine," she said holstering her pistol, "Rubber bullets hitting skin do even less damage than an arrow hitting aura. Anyway, any relevant questions?"
"Are you qualified to teach this class?" a female voice asked making Lucia chuckle covering her face with her hand.
"Yeah," Lucia said in a dark tone looking at the students in the back turning her eyes to black and red. Then she returned to her usual mood. "Now, where were you guys in Grimm Studies? Ms… Dix?"
"Ah, well," Shizuko said confused for a moment, "We were on ursai."
"Ok, good," Lucia said opening the teacher's note Port had left behind. Skimming the first page she looked confused then flipped the page and skimmed the next page. Raising an eyebrow she flipped over a few pages and whistled as she leaned back in her chair. "How can any person even fit that whole speech within this class period?" she asked causing the room to burst out in laughter. Standing up she clapped her hands getting the students attention. "Show of hands. Who here doesn't know how to kill and ursa?" She paused as she watched about three hands raise in the air. "Really? Ursa are one of the most common kinds on Grimm. Here's how you take care of ursa, take notes," Lucia paused waiting for dramatic effect, "Hit them with your weapon until they die, and if you can't kill them then train yourselves to hit harder. Also avoid the bone plates when hitting said grimm because that will slow the process of killing when hitting the grimm. That's it."
"There has to be more than that?" Weiss asked Lucia who sighed snapping her fingers.
Moments later a metal cage seemed to appear on the side of the room. "It is relatively simple," Lucia said then shot the cage lock breaking it releasing the ursa from the inside. "Take note. Hit the grimm until it dies," She replied throwing her pistol to the side and cocked back her fist as she ran up to the grimm. Planting her foot down she swung her fist she hit the grimm on its side seeming to send a shockwave through the grimm's body before there was a large amount of blood that flew out of the grimm's mouth. Then the grimm fell over with blood flowing out of its mouth pooling on the floor before it and the grimm turned into ash. "See? Hit it until it dies."
"So, no technique?" Reita asked from her chair.
"Well, of course there's a technique," Lucia scoffs confusing many of the students, "Sure the teachers here want to guys to memorize their ways of killing specific grimm, but the best way to kill a grimm is to just do as I said."
"Lucia, are you sure you know what you're talking about?" Blaise asked his sister.
"What? Of course I know," she scoffed again at her brother's remark, "I was specifically trained to fight. Sure my methods are pretty simple, but sometimes simple is the best way to do things. I'm not saying blindly jump into a grimm fight without even the slightest plan, I'm just saying that if you're fighting grimm in larger numbers you might just want to use the fastest method to kill them. Take ursa as an example, I used my strength to hit it in the side where there was no armor causing the grimm's heart to jerk violently. The heart then ripped on the inside making it bleed internally along with the damage to its organs."
"But what if we don't want to punch the grimm?" a student in the back asked.
"Are you stupid?" Lucia asked with her hand slightly reaching for her pistol before she stopped. "I'm not telling you to copy my technique. Everyone is different. The reason why I punched it was because I am significantly stronger than most people because of my railgun training. the only other people in here who could probably pull what I did off would be Yang and Blaise since Yang's fighting style uses her fists and Blaise also went through the railgun training. If it were to be someone like Weiss Schnee fighting the best possible way for her to bet it would be to impale it through the heart. Just think rationally about your fighting. And if you're going against tougher opponents like Deathstalkers or King Taijitu, think rationally, don't send your teammate who shoots rubber bullets out of a BB gun and carries a pocket knife to go kill it, send the member who carries some big weapon and has major strength. Just think, that's all you have to do. That is why I am very skilled in combat and never attended an academy."
"So you're not even a huntress?" Yang asked looking at Lucia.
"I am now upon joining the staff, but before that I wasn't," she explained somewhat confusing the students. "Moving on, Deathstalkers."
"So that was an interesting lecture," Blaise said sitting down at the table with his team and AQRS.
"Yeah, your sister isn't even an official huntress," Quinton said sitting down next to Lapis.
"And is that a problem?" Lucia asked making her presence known to the two tables as she sat down next to Blaise.
"Normally, no, but doesn't Ozpin only hire hunters and huntresses as his staff?" Reita asked.
"Well, he only hired me after we had a little chat and he basically said I was officially a huntress. So he did hire a huntress," she explained.
"So how old are you?" Shizuko asked her.
"In a few months I will be twenty," she explained, "If I were to be in school right now I would be a third year, but I've always hated school. It's too boring."
"Then why are you teaching?"
"It's better than the alternative."
"And that would be?"
"Hey," Blaise interjected getting everyone's attention, "So who do you think we will be sparring in Glynda's class?"
"I know," Lucia said smiling as she took a sip from her Beacon coffee mug that somehow already had the Campione symbol on the back side.
"So I take it you're not going to tell us," Lapis said.
"No, but I will tell you this. I hope you all know how to fight on your own."
"You know, I think I am starting to hate your sister," Lapis said to Blaise who silently nodded at the scene in front on them. Outside of the arena was a mountain of grimm cages, filled grimm cages.
"There can't be that many grimm here," Zaria said looking at the cages.
"There is the exact right amount," Eva replied after deactivating her semblance from staring at the the cages. "Exactly one grimm for each student in this class period. I'm guessing either the students will volunteer to pick their opponent or Glynda will pick them for us depending on our fighting skill."
"Or maybe Lucia has a hand in all of this," Blaise suggested shuttering at the thought. "Eva, are any of the grimm in there normal common grimm?"
"No," she replied, "I saw roughly 10 Alpha Beowolves, 10 Ursa Majors, 5 King Taijitu, 10 Deathstalkers, 4 small packs of Bloodhounds, and 1 Tarantulus."
"Fucking Murphy's Law," Blaise said under his breath as picked up his pace to the arena.
"As Hunters and Huntresses you may be required to fight the creatures of grimm on your own," Glynda Goodwitch said pacing around the arena, "And with the assistance of our newest member of the Beacon staff, we have collected several grimm for each of you all to fight." Several audible groans were heard from the crowd of students in the arena and a nearly silent curse from the resident wolf faunus. "To start things off we will have each member of team CRDL fight."
After 8 teams had fought and defeated their opponents team RWBY fought. Ruby had quickly finished off her beowolf opponent, Weiss had quickly impaled her beowolf, and Blake had used her semblance to her advantage when distracting the bloodhound pack picking off a few each time. Then when Yang went up to fight she was faced against an Ursa Major, after several minutes and a brutal beat down fueled by Yang's pent up anger, it was time for team BLZE to fight.
"Before we continue, Ms. Campione would like to say a few words," Glynda said backing up from her spot on the balcony to allow Lucia to approach.
"Now I know what all of you are probably thinking, 'Why is team BLZE going last, obviously it is favoritism since her brother is on that team'," Lucia said putting up her fingers to make the quotation marks, "And that would normally be the case, but there is more to the story. Lately, within the past year there have been strange new grimm with semblance like abilities. Beacon Academy had sent one team before, team JSMN, to go against these grimm and they all died, except for their leader who died earlier this year to investigate the new grimm with another team. The team luckily survived this attack and filed detailed reports on these new grimm. That team would be team BLZE, and the reason we have them fighting last is to show you all what these mutated grimm can do. Now, let's get this show on the road."
Boom, cliffhanger, which we all were kind of expecting. So yeah BLZE fights their arch nemesis, The Mutated Grimm. I honestly forgot about them for a while so we're bringing them back!
Well, anyway, I am still kind of loopy from the blood loss, but I can type so that's good.
I'm going to sleep.
