Burn My Pain
Once to the car, Anne handed the keys to Gadreel and he accepted, knowing she would want some undisturbed time to spend talking to her mother and to hug her endlessly. Anne sat in the back with her mother and they quickly began expressing how they missed each other. Anne cried and told her mother how she felt seeing her laying in a pool of her own blood.
She spared no detail and Gadreel was surprised. Although Anne was in a depression, she just showed a clear understanding of what was occurring around her during that time. Viviane seemed very sad that her daughter suffered so much, but also very grateful that he took good care of her and the pat on his shoulder expressed it well.
Gadreel was glad to drive and listen to the two talk, cry and laugh. Anne was happy and got exactly what she wished for without having to sacrifice anything. He was amazed, but greatly relieved. However, he was dead set against seeing Crowley and Clara again. The next time, they might not be so lucky.
"I can't believe she brought you back." Anne said over and over and once she fell silent, hugging her mother, Viviane stroked her head and let out this sort of nervous laugh.
"Anne, there's something about Clara you need to know." She said and Anne pulled back and looked at her with a short laugh.
"Yeah, very pregnant. If Sam and Dean knew, they'd be pissed." She said and Viviane placed her hands on both sides of her daughter's head, meeting her eyes seriously. "Mom?" she asked, concerned.
"We're related to her." Viviane said and Anne was confused, shaking her head. Viviane lowered her hands and took those of her daughter's tightly. "I'm serious, Anne. She had a lousy mother and I believe she resurrected me because we're close; something she never had. Clara is our blood relative and it's only because of that fact that she has granted us protection." Viviane said and Gadreel glanced over his shoulder at her, looking just as stunned as Anne.
"We're safe from Hell?" Anne asked and Viviane nodded her head. "Even Gadreel?" she asked. Viviane didn't know what to say. Clara never mentioned Gadreel, but she was certain that by not harming her or Anne that it could also mean not harming him. So, Viviane did what she thought was best and nodded her head.
"We all are." She said, hoping she would never have to admit she told a little lie.
Anne hugged her one more time and remained silent for a few seconds.
"What do we do, Mom?" she asked and when Viviane pulled back, she frowned in confusion. "We're related to Clara, I helped her by giving her a couple of spells and what if Sam and Dean want to shut Hell down?" she asked. "What do we do?" she added with concern in her eyes. "Like, I don't know Clara and I wouldn't really consider her family, but she gave me my mother back and she's pregnant. I can't really help the Winchesters in whatever it is they've planned." She concluded and when Viviane looked at Gadreel, he showed no indication that he disagreed.
Viviane met her daughter's eyes and understood. She lost her daughter once and it hurt unlike any kind of pain known to Man. She wouldn't wish that on anyone, even the Queen of Hell. And Clara wasn't just some Queen of Hell now: she was a relative, once who gave her a third chance to be with Anne.
"Then if the Winchesters plan on shutting down Hell, we're not taking part in it." Viviane said. She didn't wish those brothers any harm, but she wouldn't pick a side in this battle. She wouldn't risk losing her daughter again. If Hell was going to take over the Earth, then so be it, they would still be safe. As cruel as that may be, she had to consider any consequences to her decision to help the Winchesters.
"Then I guess we'll leave the Men of Letters' bunker." Anne said and Viviane gave a sad smile. "Wherever we go: that's home." Anne added as if knowing that her mother was thinking of their house and how they probably lost it. But Anne was right; as long as they were together, they were already home.
