XXXV. Nico
"The last demigod to have the ability of photokinesis, lived about a thousand years ago. Let's just say that she wasn't one to honor the gods, even if she was a daughter of Apollo." Nico started.
"She caused many great disasters for her time. For example, she caused the Titanic to crash into the iceberg."
"Didn't that happen because the lookouts didn't see the iceberg in the darkness?" Leo asked.
"Yes." Seeing the confused look on some of the crew's faces Nico continued to say, "She created the illusion that there was no iceberg, blocking the stars, causing the ship to crash."
"Oh."
"That was her fatal mistake, though, she died on the ship." Nico informed them.
"What was her name?" Hazel asked.
"I don't know." Nico replied.
"How can you know so much about someone, but not their name?" Michael asked, still sounding a little bored.
"Because she rarely ever said it and the spirits that told me about her didn't know." Nico was starting to get annoyed. He needed to talk to Hazel in private and five other people didn't make it private.
"What can photokinesis users do?" Hazel asked, because she had missed Nico's earlier explanation.
"Mostly they can control light, but for every user it's different. Basically they can make forms out of light and illusions or hallucinations. Sometimes they can heal people, but a different way than you're used to seeing." Nico repeated from earlier. "The users, though, tend to have a reputation for hating the gods."
"Is there a reason that they tend to hate the gods?" Jason inquired
"A lot of the time, they had a bad past before they learned of the gods. Abused, abandoned, afraid. Then they figured out that there's all-powerful gods out there, who are their family, and had just ignored them. Next they figured out that have amazing powers and that they can rebel against the gods. For most, that was all they learned they so they did." Nico explained.
"That was a long and interesting talk, but how about dinner?" Leo asked, changing the subject.
The pictures of Camp Half-Blood no longer showed the campers doing normal camp stuff, they were preparing for war instead. For what Nico could see, the borders of the camp wete surrounded by traps (probably placed by the Hephaestus Cabin), that you could only see if you looked at them a certain way. Hidden in the trees, were lookouts. There were also campers on patrol.
They had met up with Charlie and Coach Hedge (who had been explaining something to Charlie) on their way to the dinning room. Everyone seemed to be looking at the pictures with a sad feeling, even Charlie, who probably didn't even know what the pictures were showing and the Romans who had never even been to Camp Half-Blood.
Nico knew that if they didn't do something, there would be lots death on both sides. Both sides had their fighters and their tactics that would harm the other, but the winner was something Nico couldn't predict.
"What are we going to do?" Piper asked no one in particular.
"Annabeth said the statue might heal the rift." Frank said.
"And how is that supposed to help us now? I mean they're across the Atlantic, how are we supposed to- wait a minute, Nico could you shadow travel it there?" Leo turned toward Nico.
"I don't know, maybe." Nico had never tried shadow traveling with something so big and powerful before.
"But if he did leave, how would we find the Doors of Death? I can't find them only he can." Hazel said.
Jason sighed. "Let's just worry about the problems at hand."
"But if we could get the Greeks and the Romans to get along, we could have an army to attack Gaia with." Leo pointed out.
