Hey everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Anyway hope you like this one!

KLAUS'S POV

The walk home was a silent one. She didn't say a word to me. I know she was getting tired of not being able to protect herself but nobody said that the transition from vampire to human would be easy. I told her we'd pull through it together and I was keeping that promise. This was important for me, she wanted to be human again and now she was but there were...complications. I know she wants to be able to do certain things she did when she was a vampire but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I just hope and pray she doesn't become fed up with being what she has wanted to be since she's turned into a vampire.

Halfway home she spoke. "Klaus...Maybe...Maybe it's just not meant to be..." she forced herself. "Caroline. I swore to you that I would be here everystep fo the way. I never said it would be easy. Trust me Caroline. That's all I ask of you and of course to be my wife but you've already answered that question" I said with a smile. She grabbed my hand the rest of the way home.

We entered the house and my heart stopped. Sammy was on the floor playing with Elijah and Elizabeth. Hayley wasn't anywhere to be seen. I ran up to him and instantly picked him up and hugged him. "Dadddddddy!" he yelled. "You've gotten so big Samuel! Missed me?" I asked as he nodded. The second I put him down he ran to Caroline.

Elijah pulled me side. "Klaus. What are we going to do? It's not safe for him here." he said. "His birthday is next month Elijah. Let him stay til then. After that we will figure something out. Agreed?" I asked and he nodded.

I can't believe that it has only been a year since Samuel was born yet he's grown so much. He was beautiful, and he was MINE. Caroline made him dinner and he ate most of it, well whatever managed not to hit the floor. I wiped him mouth clean, washed his hands and we sat on the couch and watched tv. His favorite show was The Power Rangers. He watched wheneverand wherever he could.

Elijah and Elizabeth went to bed about half hour ago and Samuel was slowly falling asleep in my lap. Caroline watched him the entire time, never taking her eyes off him. "Want me to put him to bed?" she asked. I looked at Samuel and he was forcing his eyes to open so he could watch the show. Clearly it wasn't working. "He sleeps with us tonight. Tomorrow I'll go and buy him a crib, okay?" I said. She nodded and picked him up and walked upstairs. Her ring flashed at me from the distance and I was so distracted tonight that I almost forgot she was MY fiance. "I'll be up there in a bit Love." I said to her.

When I woke the television was still on. I must've dozed off watching it. The house was quiet. I figured it was a good time to finally get to bed. When I got to the bedroom Samuel was spread out across the bed and Caroline's hand was around his foot. She placed a pillow on the side where he could fall off the bed. I covered him and kissed him goodnight. I walked to the Caroline's side and covered her as well. She was beautiful as she slept. Human or Vampire I loved her exactly the same. I kissed her forehead. "Goodnight. My Wife" I whispered in her ear.

I did a check around the house, inside and outside quite a few times. Everything seemed just fine. I was getting tired of waiting for Alexander to attack, I wasn't going to give that advance. I came to a decision that I would go out looking for him and realized that I couldn't tell Caroline, she has gone through enough, I wouldn't make her worry about this.

It was about 3 o'clock int he morning. I couldn't sleep. I ordered a crib for Samuel that should arrive within the 2 days. I left a note for Elijah telling him where I was going and what I was going to do. I told him to keep this to himself and that he should keep my son and Caroline safe while I was gone. I wrote that I would come back as soon as the job was done. As soon as I killed the bloody monster for trying to hurt my family, on more than one occasion.
