"Raphael, Uriel... Where next?" I asked out loud. Neither of the two Angels answered at first.
After the initial silence, Uriel appeared.
"For now, we go nowhere." Uriel said. "You need to rest, I can sense it." He continued.
"Let's go back to the garage for now, you can rest there." He finished. I didn't like being told what to do, but it made sense.
Back in the garage, I stored the two Angel cards inside a strongbox. I wasn't sure it'd help, but I felt uncomfortable knowing those two could just pop up anywhere they wanted.
I walked up to Luna.
"We're never going to be on time at this rate, Lucas." She said as soon as she saw me.
"We found 2 Archangels so far, didn't we? What's keeping us from finding the others?" I asked confused.
"Lucas, we found 2, out of which you were handed 1 without really doing much special for it. The other came on random luck. Do you have a clue where to look for the other 5?" She asked.
"N-No. I don't." I responded.
"My point. Then tell me, how are we going to reach this deadline if you can't even find the cards?" She continued.
"I... I don't know, Luna. I don't. But if we're going to save Leo, which I very well intend to do, I have no choice but to try." I answered determined.
I grabbed luna and hugged her, tightly, and whispered in her ear.
"We're going to save him, I promise."
Seven hours later.-
"You made a worthy attempt, boy, but it's over now. Don't feel bad about it, some people are gifted while others are not." The apparition with the form of Zane Truesdale mocked. I started seeing a pattern already, my opponents so far, Kalin and Zane, were both already corrupted by darkness before, and now their old corrupted selves duel me.
"Go! CyberDarkDragon! Cyber Dark FLARE!" A giant fireball was fired off towards me, I could feel the heat scorching me, and wondered what happened that could've pushed me into this situation. Everything had been under control, until this guy popped up Cyber Dark, and now I was risking certain death.
-3 hours earlier-
"It's not here, Raphael." I sighed. The Angel behind underneath me ignored me and kept flying.
"If I say it is, then it is." Came the response. I glanced over at Luna, who was flying on Uriel's back. I gotta admit, it was amazing these two could materialize like this and give us a ride. Part of the destruction of the world is cool, I guess.
"Then where?"
"I've told you before, Lucas. You need to learn to see, and not just watch." Raphael sighed.
It took a while, but in due time, a giant rift appeared in front of us, moving backwards so we wouldn't fly into it.
A giant beam fired right out of it, barely missing us.
"Hello there, Lucas." A voice yelled from inside the rift.
"Who's talking?" I responded (way more brave than I felt)
"That depends on who you ask." The voice came coldly. He yelled, yet it sounded like whispering.
"Some Call me the Kaiser, some call me the Hell Kaiser, but before all that I was called Zane Truesdale." He yelled, now coming out of the vortex. He was riding his Cyber End Dragon.
"You may call me Murderer." He said emotionless.
"Zane? What's the matter?" I asked. Zane stared at me emotionless.
"Let's duel." He called.
"And let's make it more interesting. We can both start with ANY monster in ANY position out on the field and 1 face-down card." Zane challenged.
"Fair enough." I accepted, it sounded interesting.
When Zane said Any, he meant any. He started by setting a monster vertically face-down, rather than horizontally. Face-down Attack mode. He used his own rules as a way to play a monster in a very rare yet quite dangerous mode. Then he played a face-down spell or trap.
"I'll play one Face-down defense mode monster myself." I said. "And I'll also take the first turn."
I thought to myself. "Kalin... don't worry. This is for you."
"It was stupid to let me summon any monster I want, Zane." I told him. "I flip summon 'Sya, The synchro Charmer!
Since there are no synchro monsters our, her first effect doesn't trigger." I told zane.
"Now I normal summon 'Aussa, the earth Charmer'! A level 3 monster. At this point my 'Sya's' effect activates. Whenever this card was flip summoned, and I control a 'Charmer' monster, it is treated as a TUNER monster!" I exclaimed.
"I tune up my Aussa with Sya! SYNCHRO SUMMON!" I exclaimed.
"Wild howls stride through the forest, but its lord appears from the sky in the moon! Appear now! Celestial Wolf Lord, Blue Sirius!" I summoned my synchro monster.
(Sirius: 2400ATK lvl6)
"Then I activate the spell card 'Life of rekindlement'! With this, during my end phase, I can special summon 1 monster that was destroyed during battle this turn.
and since I have a perfect idea what monster you decided to summon, GO! Sirius! Strike into his monster!" My sirius crashed into the Zane's face-down Cyber End Dragon, and got destroyed.
"I'll gladly take 1600 damage, for Sirius' effect activates! This means your Cyber end loses 2400ATK! I set 1 card face-down, and revive Sirius with LOR. Then, due to Life of Rekindlement's effect, if it has less attack points than the special summoned monster, that monster that destroyed it by battle is destroyed! Say goodby to cyber end!" I exclaimed. "Turn end." I finished, when calm again.
Zane nodded very slowly.
"Interesting." He sighed.
"I activate the my trap!'Rebirth judgement'. With this, all monsters in the grave are treated as Dragon-type monsters. Next, I activate the spell card 'Future Fusion.', with this I can send 1 CyberDark Keel, horn and edge to the graveyard. Don't worry though, you don't have to be afraid. I activate the spell 'CyberDark Inpact'! By returning those three monsters to my deck, I can special summon 'Cyber Dark Dragon'! And of course he has an effect! Whenever this card is summoned, I can equip 1 DRAGON-Type monster to it. Which I will do, namely my CYBER END DRAGON now treated as Dragon-type!"
(Cyber Dark Dragon: 5000ATK)
"Cyber Dark! Attack" Zane instructed, still sounding emotionless.
"I activate the trap card 'Thousand mirrors'! With this, as long as I control a monster whose attack is half or less than that of my opponent's monster, I take no battle damage."
sirius got destroyed and I dropped Cyber Dark's attack by 2400.
"My turn, Zane." I must admit, dueling on top of a flying angel gives a kick.
"Do you like this, boy?" Zane asked in that same tone. "Dueling, knowing that if you fall, you die?" He continued. "Maybe worse, knowing if you lose, your little duel spirits disappear. And guess what happens to the girl, then." Zane smiled weakly.
I felt the a cold chill running down my spine.
Something snapped.
"How... dare you... I'm Finishing you off, NOW! I activate the spell card 'Mustering Elements'!" I shouted angrily.
"With this, by sending 1 card of each attribute from my deck to the graveyard, I can special summon 2 monsters, except DIVINE monsters, with 1500 or less attack points from my graveyard. I send Hiita, Wynn, Familiar possessed Aussa, Darc, Lyna and Nyx from ym deck and extra deck to the graveyard, and special summon "Aussa" and "Sya". Then I normal summon 'Familiar possessed Darc'. Next I tune up my three monsters and synchro summon my newest Divine Friend! 'ARCHANGEL URIEL!"
"Whenever this card is synchro summoned, I banish the top three cards of my deck. If there are 2 or more different attributes among them, I can destroy 2 cards on the field.I banished 3 cards from the top of my deck, revealing to be 1 trap and "Familiar possessed Hiita" and "Familiar possessed Wynn"".
"I destroy both cyberdark and uriel!" I yelled at Zane. Once an explosion erupted, Uriel left the field, and so did Cyber Dark.
"Which means it's my turn next. I draw, and activate the spell card 'Cyber Dark Reparation! With this, whenever a Cyber Dark monster is in the graveyard, I can special summon it, and then, I can equip one monster from my graveyard, whose type is DRAGON, to it. And since Rebirth Judgement is still out, I EQUIP CYBER END DRAGON!" HE exclaimed.
"Cyber Dark, DIRECT ATTACK!"
Right, I remember now, that's how I ended up here. I stared at Luna, flying on Uriel, but if I lost, we'd both fall none the less. I couldn't lose.
"I activate the effect of Uriel in the graveyard! Whenever this card was sent there by his own effect, I can banish him, and if I do, I can negate one attack and destroy 1 card on the field, and I destroy Cyber end!" I declared. With this, his Cyber Dark Dragon went back to 1100ATK.
"My turn, Kaiser. I draw... and normal summon Familiar possessed Eria! AND I ATTACK!" Just like that, Cyber Dark went down the limerick against 1850ATK.
"Annoying brat..." Zane mumbled. "Perhaps someone needs to teach you a lesson, for REAL! I activate the ability of my 'Cyber Dark Angel Keleho'! When a Cyber Dark Dragon is destroyed while I do not have 'Cyber Dark Horn' 'Cyber Dark Keel' and 'Cyber dark Edge' in my graveyard, I can send all three there from my deck, and special summon this card!" Zane roared. "And if I do, I destroy every single card on the field, and banish all monsters in both player's graveyard and hand!", my hand dropped to 2 cards, his went empty.
"AND NOW! Cyber Angel's effect activates! Once per turn, if my opponent has no DRAGONS in his graveyard, I can banish this card. In addition, as long as this card is banished, you take 500 points of damage times the amount of cards in your hand during each stand-by phase!" The roaring continued. I had 2 cards, next turn I'd have 3. 1500 damage. Then another round during Zane's turn.
I glanced sideways again, I could see Luna's face. She didn't believe in this duel. Her face told me she had given up.
"I draw..." I mumbled, taking the 1500 points. "Nice duel, Zane..." I sighed deeply.
"I activate the effect of the Banished Archangel Uriel. By returning this card to my deck, I can discard 1 card, and special summon 1 monster from my hand." I said calmly.
"I discard 1 card and special summon 'Archangel Raphael'. This drops my hand to 1."
(Raphael; 3000ATK.)
"Raphael attacks directly." The attack connected, dropping Zane down to 250 Life points.
"I set one card face-down and end my turn." I said.
"Good... you take no damage then, but there's a little thing I forgot to mention, Dark Angel special summons itself during my main phase, at cost of half my life points. So I pay 125 life points and summon it." He said.
(Dark angel: 1700ATK, 3500DEF)
"At this point, its third effect activates. By returning 1 banished Keel, horn and edge to my graveyard, I can banish it. Then, we both draw 2 cards." I drew a card, just like Zane instructed. Next turn I'd draw and get 1500 points, and lose.
"I activate my Face-down card." I said, deep in thought. "It's a trap known as 'Dedication to the charmers'. With this, as long as I have 7 attributes of Charmers in my hand or banished, I can return all to my deck, I return the banished "Wynn, Hiita, Dharc, Lyna and Nyx to my deck, and then return Eria and Aussa from my hand to my deck. Then I can shuffle my deck and special summon any 'Charmer' monster from my hand, deck, grave, banished or extra-deck and if I do I draw 1 card. Luckily, that's optional. I won't special summon any charmer, as such not drawing a card either. Meaning my hand is at 0.
Now during my turn, I draw. Take the 500 points of damage, leaving me with 400. Sadly, your field is empty." I mocked.
Zane's face wasn't like Kalin, it wasn't fearful, it wasn't annoying, it wasn't scared. IT seemed... satisfied.
"Good game." I said. "Attack directly, Raphael."
