Chapter 37: The note
"Corey can you slow down?!" Kin screamed as he held on to his seat belt. "What did you say? Go faster? Alright!"
Corey ignored Kin's fear and sped across the traffic lights. "Right here!" Trina screamed as Corey hit the brakes to an empty property.
"Can you remind me why you refuse to stop in your attempts of giving me a heart attack?!" "It just amuses me."
The empty property was overgrown with weeds accept for the center. A clearing stood there where Trina stopped and looked at the ground.
"Why are we looking at the ground?" Corey asked kicking some dirt. Trina bent down and brush some of the dirt off. It revealed a well hidden hatch in the ground.
"Wonder where I ran off too? Right here." Trina opened the hatch with a creak and gestured to the boys the go in.
"Ladies first." Kin said, Trina only rolled her eyes and went the down the hatch.
The three were greeted by eerie silence and a dark tunnel ahead. Corey lead by using the light on his phone.
The light shows the tunnel walls were about to cave in. But Once this was once a lot more organized.
But now rock and weeds seem to be penetrating the walls and the group must every now and then duck their head to avoid hitting it against a rock.
The followed the dark tunnel to a large dark room. Trina seem to know the place well and flicked a switch on the wall. The light revealed a bed and a table next to it with a bag what was filled in the position of the pillows.
"What's in the bag?" Kin asked as he opened it and shakes the contents out.
It revealed dolls, of the whole gang.
"Trina pardon my French but what the heck is this stuff?!" "It's my doll collection." "Of us?! That the freakiest thing I've ever seen! And I scrummed Kon's back before!" "Shut it Kin. So what did you bring us here for?"
Trina opened another part of the bag and pulled out two letters, one with a blue seal and another with a pink one.
Trina opened it for verification to see if they were the ones she was searching for. She smiled and nodded handing them t Corey at the same time.
"Now let's get out of here." Corey said but when he turned around hit hit his head on a rock poking from the ceiling.
The hole began to shake and that signaled to Corey that it was about time to leave. They went the same way they came and almost came to the hole they entered but it was sealed up right before they could get through.
"Go back, go back!"
Corey yelled and they made the way reverse but having no place to go. If they didn't think of something fast...they would be buried alive.
They swung their head back and front trying to find anyway of escape. Kin started to panic.
"We're going to die down here!" "Dude this is no time to panic!" "What are you talking about?! Danger and a good chance of death?! This a perfect time to panic!"
Trina slapped Kin and he got a hold of himself and again. Trina seemed like she had a plan.
"What's the plan sis?" "There are air holes everywhere, if we could find them maybe we would be able to squeeze out!"
The plan was bolt in their heads as everyone went into various holes. Corey found another bedroom. Kin found the bathroom and a kitchen. The hole seem to be more of an underground bunker!
Trina was the first to find one of the air holes but it was overgrown with weeds. She screamed that she found a way out and started pushing.
The guys helped and pushed Trina pass the weeds clear into the open air. It was the boys turn. Kin went first and Corey pushed him right behind Trina.
Corey went to push pass the weed as rocks fell around from pebbles to boulders. He pushed pass a few weeds but was stuck. The two pulled him until he was clear of the hole.
They breathed relief as they looked at the notes they risked their lives for. They rod back to the pent house as everyone watched the TV in the living room, accept for Alex.
"Everyone, where's Alex?" Corey asked with dirt covering most of his face. "He's in his room." Mina said pointing to the stairs.
The three ran up the stairs with dirt still on their faces. Trina timidly knocked on the door and looked at the notes again. But there was a catch.
This could help Trina and Alex's relationship or damage it even more. Alex only opened the door slightly only reliving and very annoyed eye.
"What do you want?" "I just came to give you these. They...were from your parents."
Alex's heart almost stopped and he opened the door wide inviting the three in. Alex opened the letters and began to read.
My dearest son,
I've seen you grown up from a little boy to a man. It his been a ruff journey for you and me hasn't it? I won't lie to you, it probably won't get any easier.
Me and your father, loved each other each other very much don't you ever doubt that and that love was fueled by you. I always knew that you would succeed even if you're only in elementary school now.
You know, it's funny. You always were a businesslike guy, always like bossing people around and giving orders. But at the same time you like playing the guitar and beating the drums.
I remember I showed you that autograph from that guy who you liked in that band? Corey I think his name was.
I could remember you always singing his songs and acting like your in the band. Good times I'll tell you that.
And I remember that day when you said that you wanted to run a factory for bubblegum so you can have all the candy in the world.
You even dragged me to the shop to get supplies, the only way I could have stopped you from buying 10 bags of sugar is that I had to buy you a firetruck.
I know I'm not going to live that long, not long enough to see what your choice in a career is so I write this note to you. I know that my only wish is to give you a big hug just before I go.
God knows that my only wish. I love you son. I know you'll succeed one day, even if I'm not there to see it.
So brought tear to Alex's eyes. Trina felt like she separated them both by housing this letter.
"Do you want to read the other one Alex?" Alex still in tears nodded to Kin and picked up the other letter.
My son,
If only I was there with you to see you read this letter so I could encourage you myself.
But I guess this letter will have to do, I could only tell how dissatisfied I would be that only words on a paper had to make me help me through college.
When I meet your mother I thought to myself that I was no good for her. Even through she was in a wheel chair.
Got to know her for two long years and I must say, they were the best years of my life.
What I found most interesting was this little boy who would follow her everywhere. Even on our dates.
Man, he hated me some much I thought it was passionate. Then I grew on the guy. From hating my guts to playing video games with his old man.
Listen son, more than likely your mom's letter is longer than mind but just know this.
I believe in you son and if I have to come out of the grave to tell you that again I will. God bless you, I know He did when He gave me you and your mother.
Alex stopped crying and looked up at everyone who waited at his room door. He opened his hands and gestured for comfort from everyone. But Trina didn't move.
"You to Trina." Alex said looking at her and smiling.
As they hugged everyone knew this was a happy ending for all. With everyone forgiving Trina and rehabilitated it was only thing that could make this story better.
"So guys, what do we do now?" Mina asked. "What we always do. Stick together."
Me: If you're wondering who said the last part it was Alex. It is painful to say Grojband: Love with a price is now complete!
Beba: What are you so happy for? You best story ever is now complete.
Me: True but with this story complete I can create my other Grojband story. Now I need your honest opinion on this one. Will you guys read my other story? It's about Grojband but it start more from the beginning.
