This chapter may seem really short, but if it's too short then I'll add some more to it. I just thought the ending was nice. So they're probably going to be with the demons for an extra chapter. This chapter reveals some of Pitch's actual plot, so enjoy.

I sat on the ground, shivering because I was covered with frost. I turned blue, and as I started to cry, my raincloud appeared and cried with me. Jack tried to comfort me, but when he tried, my rain turned to snow. You're probably wondering how that happened considering it's just an illusion. I changed it to show Jack he's not helping.

"I'm really sorry, Ema," he said as he backed away. "All I can do is keep you cold; I'm no good for warm embraces." Jack wanted to help me. It was nice to have him in these dark times; he won't break my trust, he'll always be there. I made an invisible wall push him closer.

"You may not give the warmest hugs on the outside, but the feeling's more internal." Jack sighed.

"I'm really sorry I frosted you, but you seemed really scary, and I keep forgetting the flames aren't real." There was that word again: scary.

"What are we going to do now, Jack?"

"Well, you can warm yourself up, right?"

"Probably, but that's not what I meant."

"What did you mean?"

"Pitch has my memories. What is he going to do? What are we going to do? What's going to happen?"

"I don't know, but frankly, I still don't understand how the demons didn't recognize you; I mean the face is basically yours but with a palette swap."

"Don't you remember? The demons didn't recognize me because my face in the picture wasn't contorted like this," I said, making a face like I just screamed.

"Oh," said Jack in realization of obviousness.

"They are so stupid." Just then Dragon flew up to me.

"Hey Ema, why are you covered with frost?" I smiled. Dragon was just who I needed at the moment.

"Hey Dragon, I was just angry so Jack cooled me down. Now I'm cold," I said shivering.

"I can warm you up," said dragon blowing hot air onto me.

"Thanks Dragon," I said. "I always thought you were cool, or should I say hot." Dragon smiled giddily at that, and then he continued melting the frost. Gremlin and Dark elf came over.

"Hey Ema," said Gremlin.

"What happened with vampire," asked Dark elf. I huffed in frustration.

"I came here looking for memories of my past life, and I find out that you dunderheads gave them to Pitch."

"I don't remember that," said Gremlin.

"It happened a few days ago," I started to explain. I don't know why the demons said it was a week; they probably didn't have good conceptions of time. "You gave Pitch a gold canister that he recognized as mine and you gave it to him."

"Oh that," said Dark elf. "Sorry about that. We really thought he would give them back to you; I guess he's just forgetful."

"Or other things," I huffed and turned away from them. Gremlin and Dark elf had guilty looks on their faces. They started mumbling to each other. It was hard to make out, but it sounded something along the lines of this:

"She seems really upset," mumbled Gremlin.

"Maybe she thinks we're unresponsible," mumbled Dark elf.

"In that case we probably shouldn't tell her about the other thing we did."

"Yeah, that that would really show how unresponsible we are."

"I don't think it's that bad, I mean, I think we left it in good hands."

"So does everyone else. Pitch is the best guy for the job."

"Yeah, I don't think everyone else could run Halloween better." When I heard that, the last of my frost had melted. I quickly turned and grabbed the two demons, face all red.

"You're letting Pitch run Halloween!?" I yelled.

"Just this year," reasoned Dark Elf.

"They're doing what!?" asked Jack in shock as he turned to face them as well.

"Why are you letting Pitch run Halloween?" I asked in incredibility.

"He volunteered. He said we deserved a vacation, and he is right. We have been doing this for centuries, we deserve a break," reasoned Gremlin. I shook my head.

"Guys, what were you thinking, never mind, forget I said anything. This is your day, your month! You already have 364 days off!

"Which we spend thinking of ideas for Halloween."

"Still, without you guys Halloween won't be the same as before."

"It will be would be worse with Pitch in charge," Jack stated.

"Don't be too hard on him," said Dark Elf. "I'm sure it will be fine."
"It won't be fine, guys you have to take your day back!"

"We can't even if we want to Ema," said Gremlin.

"Everyone is already psyched for their vacation," said Dark elf.

"We even already picked the vacation destinations," said Gremlin, handing me some pamphlets. I looked them over.

"The black hole; the hall of torture; the isle screams?"

"They're awesome," said Dark Elf.

"We never got a chance to go before," said Gremlin. I turned back to normal. There was no point in being angry with these guys. I was going to have a little fun with them, even though I was still upset.

"Fine, don't show up for Halloween. Who cares if everyone is a little bit more frightened, it's no harm done right? Of course you should know that I have been to those places you want to visit," I said turning white. The demons didn't notice. "That black hole, more of a navy blue." The demons gasped. "The hall of torture…pft… tickle instruments." They gasped again. I turned entirely white with the last lie. "And the isle of screams, it's been downgraded to laughs." The demons fainted. I started to walk away.

"You never went to those places, did you," said Jack.

"Nope, but serves them right for making another stupid decision."

Ha, I thought that was funny. Now Pitch's plot is revealed, sort of. When Rise of the guardians came out people kept commenting on Halloween, who would be associated with it, and maybe should try something with it. So, I took that opportunity and did something with it. It's pretty cool, I think my dad thinks so as well. Well, those demons sure are stupid, heart's in the right place, but heads aren't. Anyway, tell me what you think of this chapter, and stay tuned for the next one, where more will be revealed. R&R.
