Chapter 36: the band falls apart
In our previous chapter Hannah and her friends head to the recording studio, to tell the people that had supported them that they will no longer be a band anymore. They felt bad that they are going to let them down, but also they had more important things to worry about than being in a band. Upon arriving to the studio, all of them had memories rushing through their minds. The memories that shared at being at this studio since day one, which they became a band. "Here we are…how do you think they will react?" asked Natalie "Worst case scenario, they'll understand. Or find a way to make us stay." Said shinji. "If they make us stay, then we might have to get physical with them" said ichigo cracking his knuckles. "Well let's just hope that won't happen. We need to try to reason with them and make them understand" said Hannah.
Once they walked inside the studio to find the producer. They took a deep breath and said to them, "we quit" said Hannah. "What? Why? Everything was going well, I mean isn't your therapy sessions working to be a better band?" asked the producer. "We're quitting because, we can't handle being a band anymore. It's too much pressure and we have enough on our plate, Hannah and shinji have their own jobs as policemen and have a family. I have my future to think about. Each of us has own goals to pursue." Said Natalie as she explained. "Also the therapy sessions did help, make us better friends but the dream of being a band is dead. We're sorry to disappoint you but we've made our decision." Said shinji.
The producer looked very disappointed, but they understood what Hannah and her friends were coming from. "I see, I'm very sad that it had to end like this. But we wish you the best of your future and the careers that you guys have chosen. But we do have one request of you before you leave us for good." Said the producer. "What's that?" asked orihime curiously. "That you do one more performance, after we announce that the band is over. It is a custom that broken up bands do one last performance, which is their reunion performance" said the producer as he explained. "We'll think about it and let you know" said Natalie "fair enough. You have my business card, to contact me. Please wait here, we will process your checks before you go" said the producer. As the waited were chatting about what they were going to do after they got their checks, as well as continuing with school and resuming their old lives.
Moments later, the producer retuned with their checks "Here you go, after processing the checks. All of you have made $350-500k+" said the producer handing each of them their checks. "It would a lot more than this, but I had to pay for the equipment, flying you guys around the world as well as gas for the tour bus and so on." He said continuing on. Ichigo and his friends were in shock that they had made so much money. Now the question is should they stay a band to make this much money? Or still quit and follow their own paths. "Thank you for our checks. We haven't realized that we made so much money as a team. But our answer is still no, we are going to quit. And I speak for everyone that we will put this money to good use." Said Hannah.
"I understand, I wish you the best on your paths. And you all have my full support. If you ever need help for anything just give me a call, even though I am your soon to be ex-producer. I am also your friend. I'm always willing to help a friend out. We're like family." Said Austin trying not to tear up. "How about I treat you all to lunch, it'll be my way of thank you all for letting me be your producer. And we can share one last great memory together." Said the producer. Everyone smiled and nodded in agreement, Justin and Bella were so glad to be a part of the band with their parents. However they thought about doing a duet together after they had graduated from school and got a part time job.
As Hannah and her family and six of their friends carpooled with Hannah and her family to an American restaurant called outback steak house. Hannah and shinji knew when they bought their van it would be convenient and easy to pick up other passengers like their friends or their children's friends. The rest of their friends carpooled with Vanessa and met them there. Upon arriving the producer met with all of them and it was a good thing he had called ahead, because they had arrived during the lunch rush hour. "Hello, welcome to outback steakhouse" said the hostess. "Hello I have a reservation under Austin Knightly" said Austin. "Ah yes, right this way" said the hostess. She leads the party to their table and hands them their menus, "your waiter will be with you shortly enjoy" she said smiling and heading back to the front.
"Good afternoon, my name is spencer. I'll be your waiter, what can I start you off with for drinks?" asked spencer. "For now water around please" said Austin "Yes, sir right away" said spencer as he walked away to prepare the drinks. When spencer returned, he set down the drinks and pulled out his note pad ready to take their order. "Have you decided on what you want? Or do you need a few more minutes" asked spencer. Everyone looked at each other and nodded, then Hannah said "yes we are ready to order". Each of them took turns telling spencer what they wanted, then when he left to put the order in they talked among themselves to keep them occupied as they waited for the food.
The conversation among Austin, Natalie and her friends:
Austin: So what have you guys planned for the paths you each will take?
Natalie: Well I'm going to be a high school English teacher, and a part time nurse at kurosaki clinic
Ichigo: I'm going to take over the family business, and run kurosaki clinic with my sisters and Natalie
Keigo: I'm going in to voice actin. But also work as a part time English tutor at karakura high
Sasha: I'm going to be a lawyer
Mizurio: I'm gonna be a voice actor with keigo, but on the side I'll be working as a waiter
Hannah: Shinji and I are going back to our old jobs as policemen, Ken and Lisa needs us to clean up the streets of punks and low life people
Shinji: My wife is right, it's up to us to get rid of punks we are the policemen that knows who is innocent.
Ikkau: Well my capt- I mean my companions (soi fong, renji, and Kenpachi) are heading back home. Our boss needs us.
Kenpachi: Yea I got a daughter waiting for me to get back home
Austin: Aww how old is your daughter Kenpachi?
Kenpachi: She's six, her mother is uh watching her
Vanessa: I'm gonna be a chef
Kon: Nozomi and I will be running a café together
Justin: My Imouto chan and I will be finishing up high school and then Start College.
Bella: Yea and onii chan and I are thinking about performing together as a duet or become police officers just like our parents.
Orihime: and I'll be helping ichigo and Natalie with the clinic as well as being a waitress
Austin: Well I think that you all have great careers for you. And here's my business card Justin, in case you and Bella do decide to perform together. *hands Justin the business card*
Justin: Thanks Mr. Knightly *takes it and puts it in his wallet*
While they were talking spencer returns with their food and they help him pass out the food to the right person. "Enjoy your food" said spencer with a smile as he walked away. As they ate they continued to talk and took pictures together, also some fans spotted them and asked for pictures and autographs and it was good timing too in a sense. Austin told them beforehand that today was the last day they were going to be a band together, of course the fans were bumped but they supported their decision and they were excited to hear about a possible reunion performance from the band. After lunch, everyone went their separate ways to prepare or go back to their normal lives. When Hannah and Shinji arrived back at the task force station, Ken and Lisa were happy to see them back and well and ready for work. "Well it's good to see our best couple back" said Ken as he hugged Hannah and Shinji because they were like a family together. "Aw, thanks Ken we missed you guys a lot" said Hannah with a warm smile. "I hope you two are ready for work cuz we have a lot punks tying to ruin on reputation" said Lisa.
"Of course we are ready, it's our job and we train to get these punks off the street right my love?" said shinji as he looks at his wife. "Hai, let's take these punks down" said Hannah ready to get back to work. "We're glad to hear that, because until further notice you and shinji are taking our positions" said ken "what? Why? What's going on?" asked shinji. "You want to tell them or should I?" asked ken when he looked at his wife, "I'll tell them. Hannah, shinji I'm pregnant" Lisa said happily. "Oh my gosh! Congrats" said Hannah so happy for her. "Congrats! You guys are gonna be parents. That's so cool" said shinji. "We also want the two of you to be the godparents" said Lisa "this is such an honor, thank you" said Hannah. "And if you don't mind, we can learn a lot from you two. Y'know on what it means to be a parent." Said ken "of course, we teach you we are family" said shinji. "So, you think you sex crave lovers can handle our jobs until further notice" asked ken. It was obvious that he was kidding about the "sex crave" comment. "We can handle it. You can count on us" said Hannah and shinji at the same time.
"That's good to hear" said ken. "Oh, and I can help you out Lisa with your pregnancy. And the guys can help too" said Hannah very happily and willing to help. "Oh, that would be wonderful." Said Lisa with a smile. "I would anything for my sweet wife. And I will do whatever it takes to keep you safe" said ken as he hugged her and gently rubbed her stomach. Even though she wasn't showing yet, he knew that the baby will come soon. Shinji and Hannah were so happy for their superiors, and so honored to be the godparents and help out in any way possible. When shinji and Hannah were making preparation for Lisa and ken's baby to arrive soon, they also got down to business and cleaned up the streets of the punks whether its normal punks or supernatural. It wasn't long before Justin and Bella heard the news about their aunt Lisa and uncle ken's greatest announcement. Soon the word got out to their friends they were so happy, but also they had be on alert. Who knows if danger would take advantage of this happy moment, Hannah and shinji are the best at what they do as well as their kids.
At this time Natalie and the others, were much happier now that they were no long a band. But in their spare time they would just, play around with the talent that they knew when they once in the band. Also each of them got their plans ready and set, Natalie continued her schooling to be a teacher. Ichigo was learning from his dead to run the family hospital and so on each of their friends did what they had to do to be successful in life. Starting tomorrow, everyone's plans goes in to action and their new life will soon start. But then again when is it ever that easy? Even though they will be starting their own lives, new danger arises and old enemies don't take holiday offs. Everyone was getting their priorities straight, one of them being is the winter battle. Winter was coming very soon, and they needed as much as time as possible to prepare for the fight. Will they be able to follow through on their dreams or will they have to put it on hold again?
