"Ah, Frank" said Fury pushing past her. "Still working here, I see"

"Indeed, what trouble is the earth in now?" said Frank. "Or is it classified?" When Fury didn't answer, frank sighed, running the back of his hand across his forehead. "Classified" he muttered.

"Sorry Frank" Fury said. "Should have left us for England."

Frank didn't answer but he smiled, showing a missing tooth.

Loki…well Loki looked bored. How could he possibly be bored? They were in freaking Buckingham Palace. I mean sure, he was prince and grew up in a magnificent castle but bucking-freaking-ham palace.

"This way" said Fury. He must have been here before. They strode across a courtyard and through some big double doors. Weren't they going to get searched? I mean quite a few of these people had weapons and Stark was in his Iron Man suit.

They were lead into a room, with very high ceilings. Portraits hung on every wall. Tapestries covering every available surface. The floor was plush and carpeted. A chandelier hung from the high, painted celling. Not a speck of dust to be seen.

Tony looked quite the spectacle in his metal suit. With his face uncovered, she could see a peculiar expression on his face. He was treading carefully, appearing to be aware of every movement. He caught Darcy staring. "Don't want to damage anything" he whispered.

"No you do not" Fury said sternly. "This stuff is old"

"How old?" Darcy asked.

"Very"

In the middle of the room sat a green velvety chair. It was worn but still looked neat. It looked cosy. It was strange for something to look cosy in such a posh and proper place.

Darcy turned around and sighed, trying to work out the meaning of a strange tapestry. A young boy was holding onto a stick, staring at it woefully. A naked woman was in the distance, leaning uncomfortable backwards, and she had her hand on her forehead crying, staring at the stick in the boy's hand. A baby sat in a tree to the left of the woman. The baby held an apple on its head, the baby was smiling. One eye half closed. She scrutinized every detail, looking for any explanation.

"It seems to me" Loki whispered in her ear. "The woman is crying because she wants the stick. The boy has the stick because he is obviously the devil in disguise and he stole her beloved stick. And the baby" he paused. "I have no explanation for him"

Darcy couldn't help the startled laugh that escaped her. "Or" she whispered. "The boy asked his mother 'what's brown and sticky?' The mother didn't know. So the boy replied 'a stick' and the mother is so upset. And the boy…he…the boy…he's just a rebel. He don't want to eat no apple, so he just puts it on his head."

Loki snorted. "Your explanation is better"

"In truth" said a voice somewhere behind them. They both whirled around. A woman…the Queen stood before them. Seven guards stood beside her, guns in their hands. Darcy opened her mouth to apologize but she didn't get the chance. "In truth, I do not know what is depicted on that tapestry. But I am in agreement with you Loki, I do enjoy her idea. I think my great grandson would enjoy that story very much. I shall keep it mind."

"I apologize for Miss Lewis' behavior" Fury said, stepping forward.

"Don't be ridiculous. I have been trying to work out the meaning of that tapestry for many years. This saves me the trouble." She paused. "I hear there is trouble from other worlds."

"Yes your majesty." Fury said, his voice sounder posher than usual. This was not the time to laugh, but oh boy did she want to.

"Your name" she addressed Loki. "Was written in the field. Burnt into the wheat?"

"Yes" he said. "Your majesty" his last words were strained.

"You are royalty yourself?"

"Yes your majesty."

"No need for the formality of the title. Planet or race does not matter royalty and royalty are the same."

"Thank you" Loki said, his hand snaked its way to hers. She gripped it tightly.

"This is an enemy of great proportions." Fury said. "He wants Loki, but we cannot hand him over, without beginning a war with Asgard."

"Loki is protected" Thor interjected.

"Why was the name burnt into English soil?" The Queen asked.

Valid question. Why was it burnt into English soil?

"We" fury paused. "Do not know your majesty."

"Loki, this foe wants you. If my sources of information are correct then you went back on your word with him?"

"Yes"

"Thank you for doing so, the world would be dust if you had not."

"Loki did not want to destroy earth. He wanted to rule. I do not condone his actions, but I want that to be known" Thor said, eyes on his brother. Loki's eyes widened. Obviously shocked by Thor's defending of him.

Fury took a deep breath. Vain almost bulging from his forehead. "I must apologi—"

"No need. Now earth would not survive a war with this foe?"

"No" Loki and Thor said in unison.

"Asgard has allied itself with earth, as you are aware. But the battle cannot take place on of the nine realms. The likelihood of them surviving is little to none. And the casualties would be uncountable.

"Well it appears we must speak strategy"

Three hours later they were back in the hovercraft. On their way to SHIELD HQ. Darcy was tired and dirty, all she wanted was a shower. A shower, some clean clothes and some sleep. Watch a film, eat a pizza. Go and see her parents. But today's world didn't allow for that. Nope, instead she was on a 4 hour hover-ride. When they got to the HQ, they would eat, sleep and shower. Then Loki and Thor would be leaving earth to a rocky outer planet. Apparently uninhabited. Asgardian Armies, Steve, tony, Bruce, Clint and Tasha would accompany them. They would wait there. Thanos would come…apparently.

After all these months. After all these months this plan had been thought up in mere hours.

Darcy and Jane would have to wait, maybe earth/Asgard would win, maybe not. If not, Thanos might leave earth alone, he might not. He might descend onto earth and destroy it. Enslave it. Or he might just fly off and terrorize another part of the universe.

This plan didn't seem safe. It wasn't safe. But Thanos and his army would come to earth any day now. And Thor was adamant that, that couldn't happen.

Darcy honestly felt like crying. Why couldn't they just be happy? Darcy was leaning into Loki, his head was resting on top of her head. She glanced over at Jane and Thor, almost the same position.

Stony faces were all that filled the hovercraft.

They had to win this.
