Four vs Four Thousand
Naruto sat silently as Neji and Sakura spoke strategy with Shion's body guard. Shion herself was sitting silently before him, Hinata, and Lee. They had already introduced themselves and Shion had already displayed her cold and indifferent personality by not caring that more than a hundred people had died to protect her. Naruto, despite knowing it was his job to protect her, was very unhappy with her personality. Apparently she and Hinata weren't as similar as they seemed.
"You're going to die," Shion finally stated matter-of-factly making the three planners fall silent.
"Excuse me?" Naruto questioned. "I don't think I heard you quite right."
"I said, you're going to die, very soon," Shion stated. "You're going to be pierced through the heart while fighting something. I'm not sure what."
"I see," Naruto nodded. "And what, pray tell, are they doing during this?"
"I don't know," Shion sighed. "It's just the two of us against the thing."
Naruto sighed and looked around.
"How often are her visions right?" Naruto questioned.
"So far, every time," the bodyguard, Taruho stated. "But don't worry about it. It can't be changed by panicking. Trust me, a few tried."
"What are the rules?" Naruto questioned looking back at Shion.
"How do you know there are rules, and it's not completely random?" Shion questioned, voice demanding yet slightly relieved.
"Simple," Naruto stated. "Even things that are random have rules. So what are yours?"
"The person that dies, dies so that I can live," Shion sighed. "If they live, I die. But they are always honored to give their lives for me. It's why I am cold and...abrasive. If no one is willing to die for me, no one will die for me."
Naruto stared at the floor for a few minutes before looking up at Shion again.
"So be it," Naruto sighed then grinned. "Guess I'm just going to have to show fate that I'm the only one who controls my life."
"You really don't get it do you?" Shion questioned. "You're going to die."
"I've heard it before," Naruto snickered. "I'm not going anywhere. Not yet. I have too much to do."
Shion stared at him for a moment then sighed as Neji walked over.
"We have an idea," Neji stated. "Naruto, Shion, Hinata, you three won't like it."
"What is it?" Naruto sighed.
"We could make Hinata look like Shion," Neji suggested. "The enemy will expect us to put our best defenders with Shion. Since they don't know who you are, you will have Shion with you, Naruto. Hinata will be with the rest of us."
"Taruho will need to be with all of you," Naruto stated, voice unimpressed. "But you're right. It's our best chance."
Neji nodded and looked to Shion.
"Do you have some clothes Hinata can borrow?" Neji questioned.
"I do," Shion nodded. "But...I don't think this is a good idea."
"It is," Naruto stated. "Neji, do your job. I can promise I'll do mine."
Neji nodded and Shion led Hinata away with Sakura for her make-over, since she couldn't use a jutsu that would just break the moment she got attacked or fell asleep. After she had been made into another Shion, Neji the others left with Sakura carrying her to keep up the image of her being Shion. Naruto waited for three hours then left with Shion. Since the attack before had been a fire jutsu, Naruto, as the others had done before, followed the river. After about three hours, he stopped at a section of river with massive stone spires spread throughout.
"Why are we on the river again?" Shion questioned.
"The enemy attacks with fire," Naruto stated. "That means that being near water will give us the advantage."
"I see," Shion stated. "Then, uh, what's that?"
She pointed further up the river and Naruto looked sighing.
"That would be a Water Dragon Jutsu," Naruto stated referring to the massive dragon shooting toward them. "Be ready to run Shion."
He leapt to the shore on the far side of the river and knelt, letting Shion stand. Once she was on the ground, she began sprinting away while Naruto drew his Double-Edged Swords and blasted the dragon then began to run alongside Shion. She was fairly fast for not being a ninja. After about five minutes, they slowed down and three of the ninjas appeared ahead of them with the big guy appearing behind them.
"See?" the pink haired one sneered. "I told you they were planning to have us attack the bigger group. This kid is definitely stronger than the others all put together."
"No," Naruto sneered. "I'm stronger than you four and all of them put together."
"Bull shit!" the big guy spat.
"Easy Gitai," the pink hair guy said calmly drawing a pair of kunai. "Let's not be hasty. Setsuna, Shizuku, attack."
The two ninja charged at him but before either were halfway, Naruto swung his swords and blasted both of them and the pink haired one backward.
"Setsuna!" Gitai shouted. "Shizuku! Kusuna!"
"Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu!" Naruto said creating four thousand clones.
"Four against four thousand huh?" Kusuna questioned. "Gitai, do it."
A dark worm suddenly exploded out of Gitai's arm and he pulled half of it out, the other half dissolving. He held it over his head and squeezed the blood out of it, catching it in his mouth after ripping the cloth off of his face. Chakra instantly began to shoot off of him. After a moment three massive stone pillars rose around him and slammed together on him before glowing cherry red and exploding. When it cleared, Gitai had six arms and three faces. His skin was red with green marks across it. He laughed psychotically and began to move, destroying clones everywhere.
"Rasengan!" A clone shouted slamming the Rasengan into Gitai's back.
When it exploded, Gitai's limbs flew in every direction. The other three all stared in shock then looked around as the other Narutos created their own Rasengans.
"Retreat!" Kusuna shouted.
"Eight Trigrams, Air Palm!" Hinata shouted before blasting Kusuna.
The Narutos instantly leapt forward and obliterated the three ninjas and a quarter mile of the forest.
"Shion, let's go," Naruto said releasing his clones and picking up Shion, charging along the path with Hinata toward their destination.
After another day, Hinata was being carried by a clone while she slept and Shion, who was a lot calmer than before and lost in thought, was on Naruto's back. Finally they arrived at the shrine and found thousands of large stone bumps in the area. The bumps instantly grew into statues and Naruto leapt into the air, his clone doing the same, as the statues attack him. The others were nowhere to be seen, except Hinata, and so Naruto had no regrets when he was forced to leap off the cliff with Hinata and Shion to escape the statues. And the only regret for the landing he had was having to decide who to catch.
