Vince laid on the almost thread bare couch, his feet propped up on the far end armrest. He has his hands deep in a large bag of Cheetos, munching on them a bit too loud. Mal was stood at the small makeshift counter top, preparing some food.
"Where do you think he has gone?" Mal asked.
"Don't care." Vince replied sharply, his eyes were fixed on the sports game on the small TV.
"You aren't even a little bit curious?" Mal turned to look at him.
"Nope"
"Well I am. I thought we were a team." Mal said.
"We are not the A Team. We have a job to do, so shut it and do the job."
"Making food for a hostage, not what I had in mind."
"No, I know what you had in mind…freak." Vince said. "Where is that girl?"
"That girl? Cant you just call her by her name?" Mal asked.
"Don't care to learn it." He replied honestly.
"Her name is Gina and she is my sister and she hates being here."
"I am not the one who brought her here am I?" Vince pointed out.
"I had no choice. She is a mess, if I am not with her she will OD or something. She needs me near her and she needs to be distracted. Her career hangs in the balance right now"
"That's not my problem."
"No but its mine, Gina has worked hard to be a nurse and losing her partner and her unborn child has taken its toll. If she was your sister, you would do the same!" Mal started to get frustrated.
"Chill dude. I don't need no soap opera story. Don't bother me if she is here." Vince carried on crunching through the chips. Mal returned to the counter top and finished the food. He placed it on a plate and headed to the small back room that housed their captive. He opened the door and placed the plate on the side. Danny was half conscious, his head dropping to one side in the chair he was bound too.
"Wakey wakey." Mal said slapping at Dannys cheeks. Danny opened his eyes and glanced at Mal. He shuffled uncomfortably in his chair, unsuccessfully trying to get away from the man. "Problem?" he asked as he saw Dannys reaction to him.
"Nothing I care to share with you thanks." Danny replied.
"You know, you shouldn't have done that." Mal said pacing in front of him.
"What would that be?"
"You know what I mean!" Mal shouted at him. "I am tired of people thinking they can push me around, get the best of me. Push over Mal ha…..I don't think so!" He slapped Danny across the face hard. His bruised and cut face stinging with the shock.
"Like you wouldn't do the same if you were in my position?" Danny asked him.
"I wouldn't be so slack that someone could kidnap me!" Mal said. Danny looked at him. "No witty answer to that?"
"Not feeling that witty right now." Danny replied. Mal walked back to the door, stopping at the plate of food.
"Eat it before it gets cold." He said.
"How?" Danny asked him, trying to show him his bound hands and wrists. Mal walked over to him and leant down undoing both of Danny's hands. He placed the plate on Danny's lap and stood back. He raised his gun and pointed it at Danny. "Try anything and I will shoot you."
"Not sure Mac would like that." Danny said, tucking into the plain sandwich.
"I never said I would shoot to kill. Maybe a hole in the leg, the shoulder maybe. Enough to make you hurt a bit more."
"Mac sure has been rubbing off on you." Danny said.
"Shut up and eat." Mal said.
"I do hope you are playing nice this time boys" Mac walked through the door and stood beside Mal.
"Always." Mal said.
"I have a hard time believing that kid." Mac replied. "And is there a reason his hands are untied?"
"He needs to eat, unless you want a dead cop on your hands. I have him covered."
"Like you did last time? That went well didn't it." Mac pointed out. "I got this, you can go back to whatever it was you were doing." Mal wasted no time and left the room. Mac stood over Danny, his gun visible in the front band of his trousers.
"We need to talk." He said.

The speedometer on the camarro was getting higher and higher as Steve sped down roads, through back alleys and along dirt tracks. Chin tried not too, but his eyes kept glancing at the increasing meter. He knew Steve was desperate for a place to head too, but he had nothing. So he kept driving in the hopes of seeing something.
"Kono, please tell me you have something" Steve spoke into his on board phone.
"We have no hits on local cameras and the squad car reports his car is still there." Kono said.
"Then how the hell did he get away so fast?" Steve wondered.
"Wait, just had an alert. A carjacking a block away from Mrs Fowlers home, victims description matches Fowler. I have issued a BOLO for the car and its registration."
"Where was the car last seen?" Chin asked.
"Victim watched the car drive down Ha-lon Street, it then turned left. I am trying to track it on the cameras."
"We are heading there now. Keep us updated." Steve said. Kono agreed and ended the phone call.
"I don't understand why he keeps running, he wants me so why is he running off each time he is near me?"
"It's a game to him. He is almost daring you to come and find him. He knows the longer you are running around after him, the longer he can keep Danny from us." Chin said.
"And do god knows what to him." Steve pointed out.
"We can't think of that right now." Chin said. "We need to concentrate on finding him."
"Its been nearly a week Chin. Danny needed medical help before all of this, how do we even know he is still alive now."
"We have to believe he is Steve. We can't lose faith now." Chin said. Steve glanced at him.
"I know…..I am sorry. I guess I am just tired."
"When did you last sleep?" Chin asked him.
"Don't know, few days ago I think." Steve replied.
"Maybe you should."
"I can't Chin. Not until Danny is home." Steve said. Chins phone chimed and he checked the message.
"Its from Kono. She has found a connection between Malcolm Draxton and Fowler. Malcom works for a removal company and a handful of booked jobs came from Fowler. Door to Door Removals."
"Then lets go talk to them." Steve said.
It didn't take long for Steve to find the offices of the Door to Door removal company. It was made easier when they could see a fleet of vans in a large parking lot beside the main office. Chin was checking a message from Kono.
"Kono says no joy at the moment with tracking the carjacked car."
"Mac is smart, he knows what roads to go down to avoid the cameras." Steve parked the car alongside one of the companies trucks. A younger man was cleaning it down with a very soapy sponge.
"Can I help?" He asked as he saw Steve and Chin approach.
"We are looking for the manager or owner." Steve said.
"He is in the office, back there." The young man indicated. Steve thanked him and they headed over to the small office. Steve opened the door and was surprised to see such a smart and organised office in such a small space. A lady was sat at a computer, her glasses perched on the end of her nose and she was gently speaking into a headset.
"Hello there, can I help?" Asked an older yet smart dressed man as he approached Steve and Chin.
"Are you the manager?" Steve asked him.
"Yes, Gavin Juan."
"I am Commander Steve McGarrett , this is Detective Chin Ho Kelly from 5 0. We need to ask you about a member of your staff, a Malcolm Draxton." The man stopped what he was doing and looked at Steve.
"I knew it. I knew something was wrong."
"What makes you say that? Steve asked.
"Mal did not show for work the other day. I tried to call him and had no answer. When I did get through to him he mumbled something about his sister. I have not seen or heard from him since. Has something happened to him?"
"We believe he is connected to the kidnapping of a colleague of ours." Steve explained.
"What…..that cant be possible." The man said.
"You are aware of his criminal record?" Chin asked him.
"Yes of course. We are part of the return to work program for paroles. Mal came to us a short while ago but he has been nothing but the model employee. Always on time, works any extra we ask of him. He has a lovely rapport with the clients. You must be mistaken." Mr Juan replied.
"He has a connection to the people who have taken our friend. He was seen on cctv at the scene of the kidnapping."
"I just don't believe it."
"We need to look into a few jobs he was part of while in your employment, especially from a client called Mac Fowler." Steve said.
"Oh yes Mr Fowler, he is a regular client of ours."
"Are you able to help us look into some of the jobs he has employed your services for?" Steve asked him.
"Why? I am not too sure I understand."
"Fowler is directly involved with the kidnapping of a police officer, we believe Mal Draxton is working for him and there is a chance one of the jobs or properties your company helped him with could be vital in this case." Steve explained.
"You say Mac Fowler is a regular client. Do you happen to know why? A normal person might need your services once, maybe twice in their life time." Chin wondered.
"I don't tend to have a lot of contact with the clients. I am more the paper guy, facts, figures, paying the bills. My fleet manager would have had more contact, he is out at the moment. But I am sure we have something here to help." Mr Juan started to tap away at a nearby laptop. The sound of his fingers on the keys were the only sound in the office, they worked frantically but soon stopped when Juan gasped.
"Oh my." He exclaimed.
"Something wrong?" Steve asked him.
"Mac Fowler has employed us for 8 jobs. All house clearances."
