Chapter 34

"Come on Gryffindor! We're going to bloody smash it today! I can feel it in my balls!"

"-Ugh alright James, thanks for that image." Ren interrupted with a grimace, placing her spoon back down into her cereal bowl as the Gryffindor Captain siked himself up for game against Slytherin that would be starting shortly. The group were sat at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall, trying to eat their breakfasts while James shouted down their ears.

Ren could see why he was so wired though. If the team won this game they would knock Slytherin down a place in the schools League, which the whole team wanted to happen just as much as they wanted to win the actual cup.

"Yeah James, can you save your motivational speech for when we get to the changing rooms, please? There's only so much a bloke can take." Sirius said from his space next to Ren, and she couldn't help but chuckle slightly when James focused his attention on his best friend.

"I'm afraid I can't do that Sirius," He said solemnly. "You see my friend-" He slowly rose from his seat in order to address the group as a whole. "- Not only does our reputation rely on the outcome of this game, but our legacy." James paused dramatically, in which Ren heard Peter whisper "Aren't they pretty much the same thing in this case?" to Remus. She suppressed a laugh.

"Years from now-" James continued. "-On a sweet summer's day, our grandchildren will ask us how we spent the morn of the twenty-seventh of February 1978, and we shall proudly declare that we were kicking Slytherins' arses, and we will continue to revel in that sweet, sweet glory for the rest of our days!" His voice had risen a considerable amount by the point, and the majority of the Hall were now listening to the inspirational speech.

"Err James?"

"Yes Moony?"

"It's the twenty-eighth."

The air was still rather bitter as they walked down to the Pitch, but that didn't really bother Ren. You always warmed up after being in the air for ten minutes or so. No, what bothered her about the weather that morning was the wind. Ren hated playing Quidditch in the wind. It just added a whole new element of danger to the game, something which couldn't be controlled by anyone. But it was nothing she couldn't handle.

As the group made their way towards the Pitch, the blustery breeze blowing wildly around them, Ren suddenly felt a hand snake its way under her red Quidditch robes and settling around her waist. She turned to see Sirius smiling at her and she automatically grinned back.

"You ready Brown-Eyes?" He asked her, to which she nodded.

"As ready as I'll ever be Snuffles. I just want to show Slytherin whose boss." She declared, feeling Sirius' grip on her waist tighten.

"You have no idea how much I want to kiss you right now." He pouted, shooting a glance behind them at the large crowds of students who were also heading down to the Pitch.

"Does Slytherin bashing turn you on?" Ren teased in a low murmur, her voice laced with laughter.

"Only when you do it." Sirius smirked back.

"I was going to say, you must have been getting very excited during James' little speech this morning." She bantered. "I was wondering why you were so quiet." Sirius' eyes twinkled.

"Oh no, I was just thinking about last night, that's all. I had to stop myself from dragging you off and shagging you so hard you wouldn't even be able to sit on a broomstick, let alone play in the game." He replied, and Ren could feel herself start to blush at the mention of last night, and of Sirius' little fantasy. To put it frankly, the two of them had been chilling at the top of the Astronomy Tower and somehow ended up having sex. Ren knew it wasn't very responsible of them but to be honest she didn't regret it in the slightest. It had definitely been Ren's favourite trip to the Tower yet.

"Yeah, last night did turn out quite well, didn't it?" She asked casually, choosing to ignore what Sirius wished to do with her out of fear that she wouldn't be able to resist. Today's game was very important. Sirius chuckled.

"Understatement." Was all he said.

"How are you feeling about playing your brother? He's the Slytherin Seeker, right?" Ren asked, trying to change the subject. Sirius just shrugged.

"It'll make beating them even better."

"Hey Ren!" Someone suddenly cried out behind them, and Ren, as well as the majority of the group, all spun around to see Doctor Jenkinson hurrying towards them. Ren grinned. Before the Christmas Holidays had ended Ren had met up with Loren in London, and the two of them had spent the afternoon in a charming little French café, in which Loren had indulged Ren in the news that she and none other than Professor Mitchell were now an item.

"You guys go ahead if you like," Ren said to others, and by the time Doctor Jenkinson had reached her, the other Gryffindors were almost at the Pitch. "You commentating today?" Ren asked the dark haired witch. Loren and Dan, the Hufflepuff boy Ren shared some classes with, had become quite the duo, and Ren had found that she liked listening to their commentary almost as much as she did playing in and watching the games.

"Yeah man, I'm heading up to the stand now. I just wanted to see how you were feeling about the game." Ren smiled nervously at the Doctor.

"Alright I guess, a little scared but that's normal right?" She reasoned to which Loren nodded.

"Yeah, nerves are good. But try not to worry too much. I'm not a betting woman, but if I was my money would totally be on you and the Gryffindors. You'll be fine." She said reassuringly. Ren looked up at her. She was wrapped up warm in a black coat and scarf, her dark hair up in a high ponytail to stop the wind from blowing it into her face. The smile on her red lips radiated kindness, and Ren found herself reaching out and pulling her into a hug.

"I bloody hope so." She said softly as Loren hugged her back. A lot rested on this game. If they won Gryffindor would have the best chance of winning the Quidditch Cup that year, if not then Slytherin would be in the top spot.

"You will, but if you don't then that's that. It's not the end of the world." Loren said with a shrug as they released each other. "Now look I've got to hurry down there so I'll see you after the game, okay? Wait on the Pitch for me."

"Will do." Ren agreed.

"Good egg," Loren said, and Ren grinned as the Doctor hurried off, nearly slipping down a grassy slope when she moved too quickly.

"Mental," Ren chuckled quietly to herself as she watched the Guidance Councillor go. She turned around with the intention to head down to the Changing Rooms, only to nearly fall over herself when she bumped straight into someone who had been standing behind her.

"We need to stop meeting like this," A low voice murmured with a chuckled, and Ren looked up to see Evan Rosier smiling coolly down at her.

Great.

She had been finding it more and more difficult to ignore Evan's flirtatious comments during their Potion lessons together, and the last thing she wanted to do right now was politely make conversation with the Slytherin. She needed to focus on the game.

"Hi Evan," She said with a smile, although it felt more like a grimace.

"Hello Ren," He said, sounding rather patronizing. "How's my favourite little lioness doing today? Ready for the game?" Ren nodded, scared that she'd say something that she'd regret if she opened her mouth. She was trying so hard not to punch him in the face it was ridiculous. "Good." He said. "Remember, no hard feelings over the outcome." Rosier smiled, revealing his sharp white teeth.

"Of course not." Ren said tightly. 'I'm going to kick your teams arse. You won't be so smug then.' She couldn't help but think just as a huge gust of wind blew, causing Ren's robes and hair to fly up into the air. Even Rosier's immaculate blond hair, tied back as usual, couldn't escape the breeze. "I bloody hate this wind." Ren muttered, grabbing at her curls and beginning to tie them back with the bobble she had around her wrist. As she did so Rosier let out another low chuckle.

"It is quite a nuisance, isn't it?" He questioned. "It can be dangerous as well, especially for Quidditch players." Ren looked up at him as she finished sorting out her hair, narrowing her eyes slightly. What was he going to say next? "You will be careful won't you Ren? It would be a shame if anything happened to you, or any of your team mates for that matter. Especially your dear friend Black…"

Was that a threat? Ren stared at him, completely dumbfounded. Why would he say that? Did he know about her and Sirius? No, how could he? As if Ren hadn't been on edge enough she now had this looming over her.

"Don't worry, we'll all be very careful." She said curtly, trying not to sound too bitter. Had he seriously just threatened Sirius? Or was she just overthinking a passing comment as per usual? Sirius and Rosier had always had a hostile relationship, long before she had come into the picture, but it was safe to say their relationship had gone from bad to worse when she had arrived at Hogwarts.

"I'm sure you will Ren, but I had a chat with the Slytherin beaters last night and I know for a fact that they want a game that's particularly… rough, shall we say?"

Well that was definitely a threat.

"What are you getting at Evan?" Ren asked, this time letting her voice cloud with bitterness, and Rosier smirked, leaning in closer to her.

"That your team's not going to know what hit them."

He stood up straight once more and smiled. "I'll see you in class Ren." And with that he turned and walked back towards the castle, where a large group of Slytherins were waiting by the Entrance Way. Ren let out a shaky breath, one she hadn't even realised she had been holding. She needed to get back to the others and tell them what had happened. She quickly started making her way towards the changing rooms, trying to keep herself from running.

None of the team had expected an easy game from the Slytherins that day, but by the sound of it they were going to play even more brutally than usual. Seriously though, what kind of eighteen year old went around making threats like that?! Ren was baffled! They were still in school for Merlin's sake! She shook her head slightly, trying to clear her mind. 'Focus Ren!' She scolded herself as she entered the corridor beneath the stands which lead to the changing rooms. She hurried towards the Gryffindor's area and rushed inside the locker room, trying to remain as unflustered as possible.

She was greeted with the sight of her team mates gathered in the room, some sat on the bench that occupied the centre space while others leant against their lockers. An agitated looking James stood before the group, his strategy board propped up behind him. However Ren's eyes continued to scan the room until they landed on Sirius, who was pacing next to James.

"Ren! Where the hell have you been? We have to go out there in five minutes!" The Captain and Head Boy cried out once he saw her, drawing everyone's attention in her direction, but Ren ignored him, instead immediately making her way over to her boyfriend, who in turn hurried to meet her halfway.

She wrapped her arms around him, not caring about the audience. She was fairly certain their team mates had already figured out that the two of them were in a relationship anyway, they weren't stupid, and it wasn't like Ren and Sirius were trying particularly hard to hide it.

"You okay?" Sirius asked in a murmur, pulling away slightly in order to look her in the eye. Ren nodded, although she was sure she wasn't convincing anyone, and turned around to face the rest of the team, who by now were all watching her in confusion.

"Guys, I know we're all expecting a rough game today, but I just ran into Rosier and-"

"- What?! What did he say?" Sirius interrupted, gripping her shoulders and spinning her back around to face him, concern evident all over his face. Ren shot him what she hoped was a reassuring look before turning away and readdressing the team.

"Slytherin are going to be brutal today. Rosier as good as told me that the beaters are going to be out for blood. They want to take out as many players as possible. Starting with you." Ren said to Sirius, who looked rather startled.

"Ren, we'll be okay. We've faced those dirty snakes a thousand times before." He reasoned with a casual shrug, which infuriated Ren slightly.

"Yeah, it's nothing we can't handle." James inputted, to which many of the other Gryffindors murmured in agreement. Ren let out a sigh. They didn't know what they were going in to. They hadn't seen Rosier's sinister smirk.

"I know, I know," She agreed. She knew her friends were more than capable of taking care of themselves but she just had a feeling something bad was going to happen. "I'm just saying, we need to be careful. I don't want any of us to get hurt." Although Ren herself knew that Quidditch and danger went hand in hand.

"We'll be alright Ren," Sirius stressed with a smile, taking her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze as James began rally his team mates.

"I know, just promise me you'll be careful, okay? There are times when you're almost too reckless." Ren whispered to Sirius, who only let out a chuckle.

"And here I was thinking you liked my bad boy attitude." He joked, but when Ren just continued to watch him insistently, he sighed. "Okay, okay, I promise." He muttered.

"I mean it Sirius! The Slytherins are going to try and do as much physical damage to us as they possibly can, I know it!" Ren urged, prickling at the fact he obviously wasn't taking her seriously. Sirius studied her, his brows furrowed, obviously contemplating her concern.

"Babe, you know we're better than them, we can take them easily-" He attempted to argue gently, but Ren interrupted him, determined to get her point across.

"It's not about being better than them! I know we're better than them! It's about the fact that they're going to go out of their way to hurt us. Something bad is going to happen Sirius… I can tell." Ren insisted, trying her best to make him see just how much she meant it. "I just don't want us to get cocky. We need to be cautious." She stressed, willing him to understand." Sirius let out a defeated sigh.

"You're right." He eventually said, and Ren felt a little tension leave her body. "I promise I'll be careful." He said sincerely, bringing a hand up to stroke her soft cheek, and Ren smiled gratefully.

"Thank you." She murmured.

"Anything for you, Brown Eyes."

"A narrow escape there for the Gryffindor Captain, James Potter! The Slytherin Beaters are taking no prisoners today, that's for sure!"

Sirius heard Dan's amplified voice boom around the Pitch over the roar of the wind. The Hufflepuff had got that right! Sirius recalled the feeling of panic that has coursed through him as a bludger had narrowly missed James' head. Sirius would be willing to bet that Lily was on the verge of passing out from fear from where she watched in the stands.

It seemed that Ren had been right about the Snakes. They really were out for blood. The thunderous wind didn't help the situation. It made it even more difficult to concentrate on anything other than staying on your broom.

Half an hour into the game and the score was seventy – fifty to Gryffindor, which seemed to infuriate the Slytherins even more. Their vicious antics had already resulted in a penalty shot for Gryffindor.

As Sirius carefully steered his broom around the Pitch, he tried to catch sight of Ren. It was becoming increasingly difficult to keep track of who was who. Just then Sirius caught sight of a Bludger whizzing towards little Russell, their Keeper, so he zoomed along to meet it.

"Duck Russ!" He called out, and the sandy-haired Second Year immediately dropped his broom a meter or so, allowing Sirius to take his place and whack the deadly black ball in the direction of a Slytherin Chaser, Paul Montague, which resulted in him dropping the Quaffle straight into Gryffindor's third Chaser, Aarons, arms.

"Thanks Sirius!" Russell hollered, and Sirius sent him a quick wink before speeding off just as the ding that signalled that someone has scored went off. He spun around to see Ren high-fiving Aaron as the crowd went wild.

"And that was Barton and Gallagher displaying a classic Porskoff Ploy, and it obviously had the desired effect! Gryffindor continue to lead at eighty to fifty." Dan's voice announced.

"Aw yeah, that's what I'm talking about!" Doctor Jenkinson cried, causing the majority of students in the stands to burst out laughing. Even Sirius couldn't help but let out a bark of laughter. He had to admit he found Ren's relationship with the Guidance Councillor a little odd, but at the same time it was nice to see Ren get on with the Doctor almost as well as she did with her fellow Gryffindors. Speaking of Ren, Sirius spotted her flying over to him and he grinned.

"Alright Snuffles?" She called out. Sirius blocked a Bludger that had been hurtling towards them and then turned back to her.

"Never better thanks!" He tried to make his voice heard over the wind. It seemed that she heard him because she smiled back.

"Keep up the good work!" She shouted before flying off. Sirius decided it was best if he didn't let himself get distracted by her, so he instead went back to shooting around the Pitch, blocking Bludgers left right and centre.

Another forty minutes later the Slytherins had managed to catch up. Both teams were now at one hundred and twenty points and the game was definitely heating up. The weather was getting worse and the players were beginning to tire from the extra effort they were having to put in when it came to staying on their brooms. There had been a moment in which Quinn had been just inches away from catching the Snitch, only to have a well-aimed Bludger succeed in knocking her off course, and nearly off her broom.

As Sirius flew around he wasn't sure how much longer they'd be able to last given the conditions. However that thought was quickly pushed from his mind when he spotted one of the Slytherin Beaters tailing a Bludger. Uh-oh. That was never a good sign. Sirius began to follow the Beater, determined to put a stop to whatever crafty trick the Snake had up his sleeve.

That was when all hell broke loose.

The Beater he was following suddenly dropped down underneath him, taking Sirius by surprise, and at that exact moment the two Seekers both dived for the Snitch, however Sirius didn't notice that. What caught his attention was the Bludger that the second Slytherin Beater had whacked in his direction. However he had noticed it a second too late. Sirius braced for the impact, knowing that his reaction had been too slow and that he wouldn't be able to dodge out the way.

But the sudden cry of "SIRIUS!" was the last thing he heard before he felt something fly into his side and knock his broom off course, nearly making him fall off. He felt slightly winded but in no real pain so he tried to regain his focus as fast as he possibly could. However his stomach dropped the moment he saw the Bludger which had been aimed in his direction slamming straight into Ren's jaw.

Everything seemed to slow down. He saw Ren reeling back and losing grip of her broom before gradually beginning to fall backwards.

"NO!" Sirius heard himself cry without even realising it, oblivious to the gasps and screams of the crowd as they watched Ren fall. He forced his broom forward as quickly as it would go, but Ren continued to drop through the air, down, down, down at a terrifying speed towards the ground below. Her eyes were closed and Sirius reached out as he neared her, trying with all his might to grab her hand, arm, leg, anything.

He urged his broom forward, but she was still out of reach, so without even thinking, without even taking his own safety into account, Sirius threw himself off of his broom and wrapped himself securely around his girlfriend, just as they made impact with the ground. He squoze his eyes shut and held on tight to the unconscious girl in his arms as they skidded along the grass for what felt like an eternity, paying no heed to the pain that was starting to bloom in his back.

When they finally came to a halt Sirius wasted no time in supporting Ren's head in his lap. "Ren? Ren?!" He couldn't hide the panic in his voice, the only thing that reassured him was the slight rise and fall of her chest.

The noise surrounding them was just a dull thud in Sirius' ears. All he could focus on was Ren. The bruising that was already forming on her jaw. The blood that was starting to ooze out of her mouth. Sirius didn't even register the rest of the Gryffindor team rushing over to them, abandoning their brooms on the grass the moment they touched the ground.

He could feel tears stinging his eyes but he didn't care. "Ren please wake up, please Ren!" He pleaded, as a pair of hands grabbed his shoulders, trying to shake him out of his stupor. Suddenly there was James before him, looking him dead in the eye and saying something that Sirius couldn't hear. He couldn't hear anything. Just a dull buzzing that clouded his senses. He looked around in a daze. The rest of the Gryffindor team, and even one or two of the Slytherins surrounded them, and Sirius didn't even notice the Snitch that was still clutched in Quinn's fingers. No one did.

Many of the students and teachers were hurrying down from the stands and onto the Pitch. Sirius recognised Remus, Lily and the others running towards them as fast as they could, their faces painted with complete terror. Madam Hooch was trying to battle her way through the gathering crowd but she kept getting pushed back by the pulsing current of students.

"SIRIUS!"

James' voice suddenly penetrated the bubble that had seemed to surround himself and Ren, and all of his senses came rushing back to him. He heard the crowd shouting, the wind roaring, and he suddenly felt the pain from his back like a hot knife. He started to panic again. There were too many people. They had to leave. He had to help Ren.

Ren! He looked back down at her, feeling completely powerless. He was meant to look after her! He had promised he'd be careful! He had warned him that something bad would happen but he hadn't listened! This was all his fault.

"Sirius, look at me!" James suddenly took hold of Sirius' face, his hands cupping his cheeks in an attempt to get his attention.

"James," Sirius gasped. "Ren," He tried to explain, tried to express how he needed to help her, but the words wouldn't come. Instead more tears fell down his cheeks, dampening James' hands.

"I know mate. We need to get her to the Hospital Wing!" James stressed, his thumbs wiping Sirius' tears away. His words seemed to flip a switch in Sirius, because he could suddenly focus. Yes. They needed to go. Now.

He nodded to James and quickly took Ren in his arms, bridal style, as James released him, and they rose from the ground. "Wait," James suddenly said before gently taking Ren's head and turning it slightly to the side in an attempt to prevent Ren from choking on the blood in her mouth.

The journey to the Infirmary was a blur. All Sirius remembered was James shouting at the crowd to move out of the way, and sure enough the students parted like the Red Sea. He kept his eyes forward though, not wanting to see the looks on their faces. He was vaguely aware of the Gryffindor team following them, and no doubt Remus, Peter and the girls were as well.

When they reached the Castle the corridors were all deserted seeing as everyone had been at the game. The smarting pain in Sirius' back wasn't getting any better, but he ignored it. Right now his main priority was getting Ren to Madam Pomfrey. The moment they hurried into the Hospital Wing, however, the Medi-Witch was there to meet there.

"Put her on this bed, hurry now. Professor Dumbledore sent me a Patronus the moment she fell. I managed to prepare what I could." She was saying as Sirius gently deposited Ren onto the bed before immediately taking hold of her hand.

"Will she be okay?" James asked from where he stood behind Sirius, who looked up from Ren to the witch, silently pleading with her to say yes.

Madam Pomfrey met his eye and gave him a kind and understanding smile.

"Of course she will."

-x-

It had been a long night. Once Madam Pomfrey had done all she could for Ren's jaw she turned her attention to Sirius' back. He had insisted that he was fine, wanting to keep his focus on Ren, who was still unconscious (the Medi-Witch had said that Ren would be in even more pain if she was rennervated, so they were waiting for her to come round on her own).

However Madam Pomfrey had insisted upon looking at Sirius' back, so he had spent a painful half hour lying on his front in the bed next to Ren's with the Matron cleaning his wounds in order to prevent infection. It turns out that the back of his Quidditch robes had been shredded from the force in which he had skidded along the ground. As painful as the cleaning process had been, Sirius hadn't complained once besides letting out the odd wince every so often. Instead he had kept his eyes trained on the girl in the bed next to him. When the grazes were clean, Madam Pomfrey healed them with Essence of Dittany, leaving him good as new, if not a little sore.

It was now ten o'clock in the evening and Sirius still hadn't left Ren's side. James and Lily had taken a trip down to the Great Hall and bought everyone chip butties for dinner, and they had all stayed until eight o'clock when Madam Pomfrey had come to bustle them all out. Sirius had practically begged her to let him stay with Ren for the night. She had eventually relented, saying that she would allow so she could check on his back in the morning (but Sirius hadn't missed the look of compassion that she'd failed to hide when she saw the tears that were threatening to fall from his eyes).

He was sat in a chair besides Ren's bed, still holding her hand, resting his head on the mattress. He was trying hard not to fall asleep. He wanted to be there when she woke up, and if she woke up while he was sleep then what good would that be? But Sirius was just so tired… Maybe he could just rest his eyes for five minutes. He felt his heavy lids begin to droop against his will. Sleep was just around the corner, when suddenly…

"Jesus Christ, my head," A voice slurred from above him. Sirius bolted upright.

"Ren! Are you alright?!" He began to ramble as Ren pushed herself into a sitting position with a pained look on her face.

"What happened?" She asked, her voice was hoarse so before he answered her question Sirius grabbed a glass of water that was on the nightstand and handed it to her. "Thank you," She said before taking a few large gulps. "So what happened then?" She asked again, giving the glass back to Sirius.

"You don't remember? You got hit in the jaw by that fucking Bludger-" Sirius began to explain as he put the glass back down.

"-No I know that, I mean the game. Did we win?" Ren interrupted. Sirius stared blankly at her, suddenly feeling angry.

"Are you serious? You took a bludger for me, you broke your jaw, spent the rest of the night in the Hospital Wing, scared us all shitless and your main priority is whether we won the fucking game or not?! Fuck the game! What is wrong with you?!" Sirius couldn't help shouting. He didn't care if he woke Madam Pomfrey up. Hell, he didn't care if he woke the whole castle up!

Ren was staring back at him, obviously taken back by his outburst.

"Sirius, I – I didn't mean to… I was just trying to lighten the mood. I'm sorry." She stammered, her eyes filling with tears. Sirius' anger suddenly vanished when Ren looked down in embarrassment. Why was he shouting at her?!

"No Ren, Ren don't cry," He immediately rushed to her, taking her hand and gripping it. She looked up at him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," He apologized as Ren sniffed and tried to wipe her eyes, but she winced when her fingers brushed the bruising around her mouth. "I was just so scared. You shouldn't have taken that Bludger for me." Ren shuffled over in the bed, making room for Sirius, who immediately climbed in and put his arm around her. He hugged her close, placing a kiss on her head.

"You would have done the same for me." He heard her murmur into his chest as she wrapped her arms around his middle. She had a point. Sirius would have taken a Bludger for Ren in a heartbeat. He didn't want her to know she was right though, so he kept quiet. "I'm sorry for scaring you. I'm not sorry for taking the hit though." Ren added, her voice quiet.

"Scaring me doesn't even cover it." He said. "I've never been so terrified in my life. I'm pretty sure I had a panic attack."

"Way to make me feel guilty" Ren teased, and Sirius chuckled. "Did I really break my jaw?" She went on to ask.

"Yeah, in two places. Madam Pomfrey fixed it straight away but there wasn't really anything she could do about the bruising. She said it can probably be covered with a glamour charm though."

"Jeeze, how bad is it?" Ren asked, sounding concerned. 'Pretty fucking bad.' Sirius thought, but he didn't want to worry too much so he just shrugged.

"You still look beautiful, if that's what you're worried about." He said. Ren frowned.

"That doesn't answer my question Sirius." She replied, catching sight of a hand mirror on the table by the bed. She reached out to grab it.

"Ren come on, don't worry about it-" He tried to stop her, but gave up when she held the mirror up to her face. He mouth dropped.

"Oh my God," She exclaimed. "I look like Violet Beauregarde! Like I'm turning into a fucking blueberry!" Sirius stared at her.

"What?" The reference was lost on him. Ren turned back to him, looking shocked.

"Oh come on, you've never read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?!" She asked, shocked, and Sirius shrugged. "Roald Dahl?"

"Doesn't ring a bell."

"Merlin no wonder your childhood was so rubbish." Sirius laughed.

"So are you going to use a glamour charm?" He asked, taking the mirror from her hand and putting it down.

"Naa, I'll wear my battle wounds with pride." She said.

"That's my girl. Now come on, let's get some sleep." Sirius said, placing a kiss on her forehead and snuggling down under the cover.

"Yes Dad," Ren mocked, following suit.

"Night Ren."

"Night Sirius."

"Oh, by the way?"

"Mmm?"

"We won the match."

I've realized that in a few chapters this story will probably come to an end... which is a crazy, bittersweet thought. I don't think it's the end of Sirius and Ren's story though.. how would you all feel about a sequel?
Sorry for any mistakes that you may have spotted. 34 chapters and still no BETA, oh well, I'll stick it out till the end.

Till next time
