Chapter thirty-Seven: Fire Starter
Part 2
Mai pov
My body felt light, very light, as though I'm floating into an internal abyss. I wanted to open my eyes, to go back.,
'Why, why did she do that? Separated me from him?' My mind questions it. My heart beating hard against my chest.
"That boy has defile you. Now, come, and turn pure. So Mama can protect you. You shall not remember anything, and this time, I'll make it like that." Her words seem to pierce right through me.
'No, I promise him, I promise him to stay with him. God, please help.' I prayed, as my body felt as though it was being pushed down, very hard.
"No!" I yelled, with all my might, I took out a long breathed air, as though someone knocked it right out of me. Then everything went dark..
..
Sometimes, life gives you an unexpected surprise, at times, are blessings, that shows you the right way, no matter how hard it is. All I could do, is, remember, remember that I am on a mission, and that I will follow suit, to reunite with him. How long was I asleep? Maybe a day, or a year? Not sure, it seems endless. All I knew, my body felt heavy, very heavy.
Gently I open my eyes, everything is very blurry at first. Rubbing it harder, my vision soon came by, to stare at a familiar place.
'Where am I?' I thought, moving my aching body, rubbing my neck, I heard the door open, as a crisp cold air rushed in. I shivered from it, and lifted my gaze. There, my eyes widen. To see Lin, with Ayako, talking among each other.
"Yes, but now? Is that case so important, that we have to go in the middle of the night?" I heard Ayako complained, shaking her head in annoyance. Lin didn't say a word, but starts to head in front of her. I felt my body pulse. Something seems wrong. I'm not sure why though.
"Poor girl, that boy has her working overtime again. Either way, here, I grab a cup of coffee, and some donuts," Ayako hands me a bag of the donuts, and the coffee, over the table. I took them, nodding,
"Thanks," I whispered, placing it down, rubbing the brown bag with my fingers.
'Something is not right. Something is off, I feel it in my guts. What? What is it?' my mind hammer on me, as I heard the door open on my right. Turning my gaze, Naru comes out, adjusting his black jacket. My heart actually gave a painful leap.
'Why?' for a reason, I started to shake, Ayako takes notice, and rushes to my side. I glance up, as she kneels, cupping my cheeks.
"Mai, what's wrong? Why are you crying? You had a nightmare?" she questions me. I stare at her, shaking my head. Slowly I stood up, while she helps me. Naru stops in front of my desk, and glances at me. I stare at Ayako, as more tears run down my cheeks.
"Ayako!" I cried, wrapping my arms around her midsection. She looks down at me, but wraps her arms around me, rubbing my back very gently.
"You had a nightmare?" she smoothly asks, trying to be very gentle, like always. I glance up, crying harder, my chest hurts now.
'No, nightmare..' I move away from her, wiping my cheeks, as I turned to stare at Naru, his eyes are cold, but for a reason, seem to be something, but what? Lin returns, holding something in hand which looks like a bag. My vision is too blurry to tell.
"Is it about the case?" Naru asks me, as I hiccupped, trying to find a way to speak.. My mind is not correct.
"I.. I need to go home." My voice is thick, my hands now shook terribly.
'Something is not right, why when I look at Naru, my heart breaks?' Moving around the table, Ayako takes a hold of my arm, just in case I fall over.
"Can I go?" I asked Naru, he seems to think about it, but nods. Moving fast, suddenly I don't know, but I lose my footing, and almost fell face forward, but instead of meeting the floor, I felt two strong arms around me.
"Get up at five sharp, Lin will take you to our destination." His voice is soothing, and deep, causing me to shiver in a good way, not sure why. I glance up, and our eyes lock, my breath caught, of how close we were. My heart started to hammer hard, as a blush seep into my cheeks.
'Naru.. Why does it pain me? The simple touch of you, is making me go weak on my knees.' I thought, raising my hand, to grasp his cheek, to feel his warmth. Of how much I..
"Are you going to stand there all day?" Ayako interrupts our moment, I blinked, as Naru straightens me and lets go of me, as though he just touch fire. I frowned, feeling my heart ache a little from that.
"Thanks," I bowed down, then turn to head out, my heart beating harder than ever. Grabbing my jacket, a sudden weird sensation pass my body.
'Find me the head, and I will show you Alack death.' I heard a male voice pass my mind. I paused, my eyes widen, as I shivered.
'What was that?' feeling a hand on my shoulder, cause me to jump up, looking back, Lin gave me a concern look, but I shook it off.
"I really am tired. Good night." I bowed, heading out. Placing the jacket around me, I glance up at the night sky, feeling the crisp air.
'Something is missing, and I feel so alone.' With that sad thought, I headed home…
..
'I can't sleep,' I twist and turn in my bed, snatching the blankets away from my body.
"I miss something. What? This is the first." I sat up, looking down at my right, bundling my legs up, grasping my blanket.
'This is not good, if I don't get to sleep, I'll be late, and Naru will be mad,' I thought, for a reason, a tear leak down my eye, at the mention of Naru.
'Come on Mai, you're eighteen, I have forgotten all about him. Even if he did return from England.' I pep talk to myself. Laying back, I glance at my right, running my hand up, and tighten my hold on the bed quilt.
'Then, why is my heart breaking? Why do I feel so lonely? And the thought of him, makes me feel full once again. Naru, why do I yearn for you? I miss you.' I kept crying gently, not sure how long, until I finally fell asleep. This time, no dreams were attaching, nor anything. Just a simple emptiness in my heart.
..
"Bou-san," I called out, rushing out of the building, towards him. He leans against the van, cross arms, smiling at me gently.
"About time, I thought we were going to be late." He smiles at me, as I reach his side. He ruffles my hair, and turns to open the door. I blushed, looking down, rubbing my eyes.
"Ah, but there's where you're wrong, I didn't hear the alarm, and almost got up late." I told him, jumping to his side, and lean a little forward, to wave at Lin.
"Ohayo," I told him, trying to fake a cheer. Lin nods, and starts to drive off. Bou-san looks down at me, with a strange look.
"Ayako told me about your little outburst last night, are you okay? Your eyes are so red," he leans closer to me and takes a hold of my chin. I blushed, shaking my head.
"Had a nightmare, nothing else, and plus, I'm still sleepy, overall, I'm better now, so where is this case? Naru wasn't pacific with it," I asked, rubbing my hands together. He lets go of me, and glances up.
"An old building, in Kyoto," he explains. I nodded, leaning my head against the window, watching the scenery pass by.
'I'm certain, something will go wrong. I have that gut feeling, please, let me be wrong.'
For the rest of the ride, we chatted, and ate something on the way.. A few hours later, after the long ride, we finally reach our destination. Lin parks in front of an old building, that looks like an old prison, than anything. It is large, with bars in front. The brown, color almost disappearing. A large fence encircles around the large front yard.
"This is a prison," I shivered, looking up at Lin. He places his keys inside of his pants pockets, and shook his head.
"This prison was first open back during the war, then it closed about twenty years ago. Its been reported a ghostly apparition, mostly one with no head. It haunts the halls, so they call us up, to get rid of it, since they want to demolish this old prison, to put a hospital." Lin explains to me. My eyes widen, at the mention of headless ghost.
"So Naru accepted this case? Makes no sense, normally he'll get one that is very hard." I mumbled, feeling Bou-san next to me, adjusting a box in his hands.
"Well, he's the boss, and we have to follow what he gets, so no argument, let's go," he moves swiftly towards the front black doors. I shivered, as soon as I step into the grounds, a sudden sensation pass by me. Like someone is watching me. I glance up, and for a brief second, on top of the roof, I swear, I saw a shadow of a wolf standing there, and smirking.
'Was that a wolf?' I asked, now my body felt frozen, not able to move, my heart beating hard. Then I felt a hand on my shoulder.
"Mai, stop dozing off, help, Naru is getting irritated," I heard, snapping out of it, I glance down, to see Masako looking up at me, as she covers her mouth with her hand, looking irritated as well.
"Masako," I chirp out, surprising even myself, I wrap my arms around her, and gave her a soft hug.
"Mai, what in the world?" she snaps at me, as I move away from her.
"Sorry." I blushed, looking down at the ground.
"Oh, right, have you felt anything in this place? You have been here longer." I asked her. She blinks, but nods gently at me.
"Its strange, I feel only two strong presents here. Not sure where though, but they are evil." She whispers, turning to head in. I frowned.
'Is it the wolf? Why would a wolf be here? I need to ask Naru about the history,' and with that, I headed in, following Masako.
Following her, for a reason, the atmosphere in this place seems to become thicker. The long creepy brown hallways seem to give that, 'Its very haunted.' Aura. Turning towards our right, I found myself staring at the monitors, where Naru sat in front, adjusting the screen. No one in sight.
"Where's the others?" I asked, moving to his side. Masako goes over to the chair on her right and picks up a small pink bag, and starts to look through it.
"They are doing their job, Ms. Hara, go with Lin, and search the third floor. See if you sense anything more." Masako nods, turning around, as I arched a brow up.
"Hey, what about me? Don't I get a partner? And where's John and Yasu?" I asked, as Naru stands, to head out. I hesitated on moving. Normally Naru doesn't let the base unintended. Well, at times.
"Brown, can't come today, but he will later on tomorrow afternoon, as for Yasuhara, he'll be joining us tonight. And as for you, I need to show you around, since I was voted to be a tour guide." He simply says. I frowned, lowering my head, rubbing my arms.
"Don't worry, your partner will be Houshou, later in the day," he assures me. I nodded, a sudden sadness pass by me.
'I want you to be my partner. Naru, please don't leave me.' Without realizing it myself, I move behind him, grasping his jacket, as my bangs cover my eyes. Naru kept walking, but stop, due to my hold on him.
"Mai?" he turns, as I kept looking at his jacket.
'I can't shake this feeling off. I need Naru by my side. Why? Its like. I can't live without him.' How pathetic that sounds. I have forgotten about him, right? He rejected me, so let it be like that. Then, why am I holding so tight? My heart beating hard. Why am I crying?
"What's wrong?" Naru turns, to bend down, placing his hands on my shoulders, I glance up, crying even harder.
"I didn't sleep well last night." I felt like a lost child, as Naru frowns, giving me a strange look.
"So your crying because of that?"
"No. I.." I paused, as an eerie feeling passed by me, and my eyes widen.
'Find the head, see how he died, and start the fire my little fire starter,' the same voice from last night, echoes in my head. I hissed, taking hold of my head.
"Mai?" Naru asks a little concern. I wave my hand, trying to avoid him.
"I'm okay, a headache," I lied, moving away from him, Naru straighten up, not looking convinced, but turns to head straight. I glance at his back.
'I'm either loosing it, or something,' with that, I follow him out. Slowly moving behind, he shows me the cells, and the cafeteria. Actually the cafeteria gave away a deep depression, it's a huge place, bigger than the lunchroom at my high school. Old, torn seats, and tables, half eaten by time itself.
Shivering, I move toward Naru, looking up at old metal stairs that leads to the second floor.
"Reports have it, that there was a massacre here. One of the cell-mate beheaded a man, for unknown reason, so, our job is to get rid of this terrifying ghost, that roams the hallways." Naru explains, crossing his arms, looking straight ahead. I shivered, not liking this at all.
"I know this sounds odd, but is there wolves around this area? Or back then?" I asked him. Naur turns his gaze at me, arching a brow, as though to say, 'Really, you ask me that?'
"Not from my acknowledgement, why?" rubbing my arms nervously, I told him about what I saw on top of the roof, while he takes hold of his chin, thinking deeply of what I told him.
"Interesting, there's no report of wolves, or phantom of it, just a headless phantom. I'll look into it," he turns, heading out, as I follow him, that eerie feeling cast over me, while I watch Ayako and Bou-san appear at the end of the hallways, bickering about something. Ayako rolled her eyes, watching them enter the base. Each step for me started to become harder and harder, my breathing starting to go faster, than the normal.
'Its hard to breath, these hallways, are scary.' I thought, moving closer to Naru. Then I heard a footstep behind me. I stop, raising my sight, as my body turns cold, very cold. The footsteps behind me started to get louder and louder, but they weren't footsteps, but..
A loud horse sneer behind me, and my eyes widen.
"Now, Isac sure love to meddle with things, and the protector is sure pissing me off," a familiar voice echoed behind me. I slowly turned, feeling my heart beating hard against my throat, then fear, real fear shot through me, as a horse stood at the cafeteria entrance, and a shadow person sat on top of the horse. The horse is inflamed, and his red shot eyes staring at me. My scream caught in my throat. My breath, I couldn't breath.
It pointed at me.
"This is no use, remember, and return. I know my brother and the protectors plan all of these. Fine, if you want to see how I died, then I will show you how, but before that, I'm still furious that you burned my body, without my permission. That husband of yours never ceases to amaze me, sure is smart, now remember, and get me my head, before you decide to burn it. I'm tired of this useless taunts." Then he disappears.
"Mai!" I heard behind me, turning my gaze, Ayako rushed towards my side, wrapping her arms around me. I shook, looking up at her.
"We saw you through the monitors, it looks like you saw a ghost, but we didn't catch anything on camera, what happen? Why are you shaken so badly?" I shook my head, moving away from her, rubbing my temples.
"I didn't see anything," I lied, not sure why though. Moving my steps, I pass Naru and Bou-san, and headed for the base. Upon entering, I flop down into the first seat, and cover my face with my hands, trying to recall everything what just happen.
'Why, did he look familiar to me? What's happening to me?' I questions, hearing footsteps in front of me. Lifting my gaze, Naru grabs a chair, and rolls it in front of me, and sits down, to face me head on. I blinked, with a tint of blush.
"What did you see?" he simply asks, with a low voice. I turned, to see if Ayako and Bou-san could enter and save me, but nope, they weren't in sight.
"What made you say that?" I question him. He gives me straight look, that cause me to feel small for some odd reason.
"I know you too well, tell," is his answer. I gulped heavily, but shook my head.
"A horse, a big horse, that look like it came straight out of hell, and there this rider, its ghostly, with red eyes, it said, that I need to remember," I explain, shaking all over again, Naru frowns, tilting back.
"Wolves, and horses? This is new, nor was it in the description. This case has turned even more interesting." He mumbles to himself. He turns around, and starts to mess with the buttons on the monitors, and rewinds of what happen five minutes ago. He moves closer, as I did the same, I place my hand on top of the table, next to his. I move closer, to see if I can catch it.
"Its clear that you can see something, but there's nothing, not even a mist," Naru points in the opening of the cafeteria. I move my hand, touching his, (not sure, if I did it just because,) my heart jump at the slightest touch. I didn't remove it, but move closer to the monitor.
"He was standing right here, there's nothing, strange." I whispered, after I pointed at the spot. Sighing, I turned to face Naru, only to gasp very low, of how close we became, my heart racing once again. His blue eye scans mine, and I raise my hand. Then a strange sensation passes by me.
Is like, everything around me disappears, and we now stand alone, in a dark room, but for some odd reason, I could see him perfectly.
("I miss you, please, wake me up," I pleaded him, cupping his warm cheek. He just stares, moving his hand, and grasp my hand that cups his cheek. A red blush passes my cheek, as my body feels tingly and warm from his touch. "I'm trying, hold on okay. Stay strong," he whispers, moving closer to me, I move my head, and our lips barely touching, as our breath mix into one. My body seems to become alive once again. My heart warms up, into something that I couldn't explain. Our eyes kept locked. Our passion there. I felt a tear roll down my cheeks. "I try, for you, I'll keep strong. Don't delay, I miss you terribly." I whispered, closing my eyes, I gently press my lips against him, sobbing now. He cups my cheek, and gently kisses me back. Breathing hard now, he leans his forehead against mine, and gave me a gentle smile. "You're my brave girl, you can do it." and with that, he turns, as I sat right back down.)
Everything comes back to normal, and I blinked, not sure what just happen.
Watching Ayako and Lin walk in, with Masako and Bou-san right behind them. Shaking my head, a sudden weird sensation passes my body, and I glance up to see my friends.
'Strange, what jut happen?' I thought, moving, when my eyes lock with Naru, for a reason, I found myself turning red, and I avoided his gaze..
'I don't get it. Why do I feel like, something big happen? And why is my heart is racing?'
Naru POV
Its been a day already. I place Mai down in our bed, watching her sweat a lot, as tears rolled down her cheeks. I felt bad, but I couldn't do anything just yet. Now standing in front of the mirror, seeing my own reflection, I press my and on the glass.
"Show me, what is Mai doing. I demand you." My voice is harsh, a foggy image appears at the end of the glass, and the lady appears. Her eyes are a deep black, as a dark smirk passes her lips.
"Is that what you really desire? You may watch, watch well," and with that, she disappears, and the image changes. Now, I see an old building. Looks more like a prison, the images pass by so fast, that I had to blink rapidly. Then it landed on an old base, that is big and empty, with brown old walls.
Inside, I see monitors, and such, wait..
'My equipment, I miss them. Its been too long,' I watch Mai walk into the base, with Masako. I frowned, moving my hand towards her, then glance at her sleepy body.
'Hold on, please be brave,' I thought, aching to go to her side. These past six years, with her has made me mature even more. Mai doesn't know it, but she has taught me so much. I want to repay that to her. She taught me, that when you love someone, you must stick with them no matter what. I need her by my side. I sound so corny right now. Or from some manga, or romance book. Hell, at least, I understand what it means to love a woman, and Mai is the only one in my eyes.
I watch myself stand up, and stand in front of her, and they started to talk, I couldn't make out what they are saying, but then, she moves closer to him. For a reason, I didn't like that, as I watch them get closer. I fist my hands.
'Don't care if this is made up or her imagination. No one is allowed to get close to her.' For a reason, that deep ugly unfamiliar feeling pass by me. I didn't like it, is when I thought she was in love with Gene. I don't like when any male gets close to her. I press my hand tighter against the glass.
'I hate this. How can I.. Get my message through, without the lady knowing it.'
I hit the mirror with rage. I couldn't take it.
"Tell me, what do I have to do? What do you want?" I demand, this time, no holding back. I revolt back to my old self.
I let every emotion be locked up, as my mask automatically came into place. If anyone could see me now, they would be running. The lady appear into the mirror once again, and touches the glass.
"Now, this is my Sauske, I waited for. Go to the waterfalls, and bring me the thing under the boulder, bring me my horse." She tells me. I smirked devilishly at her,
"As you wish, my lady," I hissed under my breath, popping myself in front of the boulders, and bend down where the red cloth is shown.
"I got you, and finally, I will get rid of this case, and get my wife back."
Mai POV
"Its been a day already." I frowned, watching Yasuhara running his gaze down his laptop, trying to research something Naru send him to do. While I read pile after pile of old documents. No activities since yesterday, so I think is a good thing, right?
"Found anything?" I pocked his arm, Yasuhara lifts his gaze, to turn towards me, and fixed his glasses, causing it to sparkle.
"Stop poking me, I'm still progressing it, you?" He asks, leaning his gaze towards the file in hand. While he fixes his black hair a little. I shook my head, leaning my chin against the flat of my palm.
"No wolves nor horses, but some other cell-mates did kill others, and some suicide, that's all." I told him. Yasuhara rolled his eyes, but returns his gaze back towards his laptop.
"There's an old library not far from here. I'll go by in an hour, with Lin, to see if I can catch anything else, we missed." He whispers, typing once again. I gave him a soft smile, and return my gaze back to the old documents.
"Tea," Naru voice rang behind me.. I lifted my gaze, and once again, a blush passes by my cheeks. When our eyes connect. Standing up, Masako stood up as well, since she was closer to the kettle.
"I'll get it," she tells him. Naru arched a brow, but shook his head, as I frowned, sitting back down, and glance down at the old pages.
'Strange, why would she offer?' ignoring it, I return back to my pages, only to feel a dark aura pass around me. I nervously glance up, to see Naru sending me death glares. I cringed, lifting the folder up, so I can try to cover the death glares, but for a reason, is not working. I could feel it burn through the papers.
'What's wrong with him?' I thought, hearing a sudden clash. Lowering my folder, Masako had tea all over the floor; luckily the glass only chip a little. I stood up, and went towards her side.
"Masako, are you okay? What happen?" I question her. Masako glance at me, with wide eyes, while Lin just walked in, and rushed towards our side. He glances at Masako.
"Ms Hara?" he questions. She shakes her head, and stood while I kept cleaning the mess up.
"I thought I saw someone outside the window, I guess I'm wrong." She explains. I turned my body, to look out the large window, that has black bars on them. Searching around, a sudden eerie feeling fills me.
"Where's is Ayako?" I asked, lifting the cup, while Naru bends down, with a dry cloth at hand. He surprises me, when he starts to clean up the spill. I blushed, turning my gaze towards him.
"She's with Bou-san, on the second floor, since you awoke late, we needed to get a head start." He explains. I frowned, biting my lower lip.
'I couldn't sleep again, is like I'm missing someone. I don't know. I feel empty, very empty.' I thought, looking at Naru blue eyes. My heart leaps.
He suddenly stands, clearing his throat, and turns towards Masako.
"Lin, take Ms. Hara towards the destination, and see if you can get anything, report back." He orders.
Lin nods, and turns to only have Masako give me a death glare, but then turns to follow Lin. I frowned, throwing the cup away in a little garbage bag we have near the window. I reach it, and threw it out. Looking outside, a sudden vision appears. Instead of a yard, it was beach The ocean is cristal, and so beautiful.
"So beautiful, I wonder if Naru is okay." I said out loud, touching the bars, wrapping my fingers around, then I saw something. A man, a man that looks like Naru, but he has a bit longer hair, and a small woman next to him. She looks almost like me, but with a burnt in her face, wearing a plain brown dress. My eyes widen.
I couldn't make out what they are saying, but all I can see that she snaps her fingers, and fire came out of them. My heart pulsed around me.
'My heart.' I grasp my chest, breathing out normal. The woman turns her gaze towards me, and her eyes locks with mine. Then the boy turns, noticing a slight difference from Naru, his skin, is a tanner. His eyes narrow, as he points straight at me.
"Sasuke," I called out, reaching my hand out, pressing my palm flat on the glass. He smiles gently at me, then takes the girl by the waist, and she looks up at him, with one of the most genuine smiles I have ever seen.
'She loves him. ' Is all I could think, she turns towards me, and frowns, looking down at her hand.
"You are almost close, don't repeat our lives, let Sasuke be your protector, Remember, wake up." For a reason, her voice echoes in my head.
"Mai? Who's Sasuke?" I heard behind me. I was now shaking, tears running down my cheeks, as the image started to change. It was now filled with fire, as they both stood inside.
"No, Alice, Sasuke, please, don't burn. I'm sorry." I started to pound against the glass, as both stare at me, and disappears.
"No, please, I came to help, don't…" I cried out, but it was too late, the flame disappears as well.
"Mai, tell me, what did you see?" Naru demands. I turned around, with tears, I wrap my arms around his midsection, surprising him. I felt him go rigid.
"Sasuke, he was burning. I couldn't help him. I started to really cry, my heart hurts. I wonder, why? What does this have to do with anything?
"Sasuke? Mai, calm down, and explain." Naru asks, I glance up with teary eyes. His expression seems hard for some odd reason.
"Sasuke, Alice. I feel so bad. How.. How can I help them?" I cried even more. Naru remained quiet, but I let go of him, and wipe my eyes. Not daring to look up at him.
When I was about to step away from him, a pulse rushed through me, something in me felt like is burning. A really deep burn. I grasp my chest, trying to calm my now racing heart.
"Wake up Mai, you're burning up. Its time to wake up. Its me, Naru, the real one. The lady is using you. Wake up." I heard in my head. I turned, my eyes widen, to see that Naru wasn't there any longer. I turned towards the monitors, and no one was.
"What's going?" my voice thicken, as the atmosphere turn dark, very dark, that the hair on my back of my neck and arms stood up.
"Well, he finally figured it out. Too bad, I was having so much fun. Either way. Its time," a woman's voice echoed down on me. I turned my gaze towards my left, and my eyes widen. There she stood, wearing a white old veil, as another pulse pulsed around me.
"Lady?" then I hissed, I really hissed in pain, as I got onto my knees, holding my head.
'Oh no. This is..' flashes seem to rush into my mind, fast flashes. When I met Naru, until he left. When I continue to keep going, and when..
"We are stuck on an island, this is fake. Why? Lady, why did you do this? We want to help you. Want to help everyone, tell me. Why?" I beg, feeling my hands starting to sizzle more. I lifted my hands, to see fire spark around my fingertips. Now, I remember everything. This is all her doing? She separated me from Naru. How dare she?
"You still haven't figured it out? I gave you so many clues, even that husband of yours figured it out. I still don't know how he managed to break through my barrier? Either way, my daughter, is time to die. If Alack and Isac can't bring me my last two souls, then I have to do it myself. Never send someone else to do your dirty work. Sasuke was a coward as well, ever since he pledge his life to that woman, he changed. So I had to take him out. I don't care that he's your protector. I will get your soul." Her face twisted into something ugly. It morphed. Her face looks like is being hit by several iron pans, burnt into a crisp.
Something in me snaps, as though I realize who this lady is, that calls herself my mother.
"Naru, please, come.." I prayed. Wishing him to be by my side. With all my heart. Not sure how, but then, I felt a grasp in my hand. I turned to see Naru materialized next to me, and my eyes widen, to see the most deadly cold stares I have ever seen in him. He smirked at the lady.
"My lady, I found the object under the boulders. Thank you, and I finally realized, what it is. Finally, I gather everything, and this time, I will stop you. I will keep my word. Now, my firestarter, finish it." He turns to face me, and his eyes remained cold. I gulped, but nodded, feeling him giving me a little squeeze, which I return back. Knowing very well, that he has my back, . Knowing, now. Knowing who this woman is.
I felt A great power emerge around me. A feeling of something. I'm not sure how, is it because Naru is transmitting his power towards me? All I can see the fire in my hands flared up, and I pointed at her.
"I'll will free everyone, like I promised years ago.." I told her. The lady's eyes widen, as my flames turned deeper red.
"Now Mai!" Naru yells, as the Lady moves swiftly, heading towards me.
"No, nobody was able to defeat me in the past. No one will, not even a damn Firestarter. I will get your soul!" she screams. As I let go of my fire, and yelled loudly.
"No. You will pay, Protector of the Island!"
Thanks for the reviews also, I have 100 followers. So happy, thank you all. :). And yes, the lady is the protector of the island. Not sure if everyone suspected that.
