"...I'm leaving," I say out of the blue and turn my heel to leave. i hear a bunch of yells from Gokudera and Ryohei for me to came back but I ignore them completely.
"Hey Yuki, were you worried? You had this really concerned and sad face watching Yamamoto fight," Mizuki told me as she followed me.
"Yeah...It's just that...I'm too tired, I'll tell you tomorrow," I wave her off. I really am tired and confused.
Yuki's POV
THE NEXT DAY AT SCHOOL...
Yamamoto was almost late for class, he was more absentminded than usual, and spoke a lot less. He had a pained look the entire time. Also Yuni transferred into our class...Why is it always our class that gets the transfer students? I'm not complaining or anything like that, it was just a thought though. We were all surprised at Yuni's sudden transfer because no one told us about it. Later on during break, I walk in the halls aimlessly.
Mizuki's POV
"Where are you taking me Mizuki?" Yamamoto asks me in a tired and bored tone...Wow, I haven't ever seen him this down like ever.
"Just come with me," I look around the halls trying to find someone. Speak of the devil she's right there.
"Stay here and listen alright?" I shove Yamamoto into a dark corner while I call out to Yuki.
"Yuki! Come here!"
"...Why can't you come here?" She responds... *sweatdrop*.
"Just come here already! It's more private here," I reply. She sighs but trudges over anyways.
"What do you want?" She looks at me expressionless.
"What's wrong with you? You seem really deep in thought lately, and you said you'd explain why you looked so sad yesterday during Yamamoto's inheritance test," I heard Yamamoto rustle a bit. Shit, did she hear that? I see that Yuki is looking down at the ground. I guess she's too distracted to notice.
"Well I guess it's just that he seemed so different you know. He's usually the optimistic baseball crackhead, but last night...He was a completely different person," She replies hesitantly.
"Really?"
"Yeah...I actually really like his easy going happy nature. It puts me at ease and makes me feel safe you know? It's one of the reasons why I fell in l-...lo-...loooooooooooo-...I've grown fond of him," She turns cherry red saying this. Aw~ Isn't she just the most adorable thing when flustered?!
"But seeing him last night...He wasn't the guy I was attracted too," She continued. I could swear I heard Yamamoto choke or something.
"Seeing him push himself and have that expression on his face...It scared me, and it really hurt me to see him in pain," She rubs the back of her neck nervously, obviously she doesn't feel comfortable talking like this because she isn't the one to be all lovey dovey.
"Ok then, why don't you go buy yourself something to drink? I'll catch up to you later, I have disciplinary duties to do," She nods and walks away. When I'm super sure she's out of sight I looked around the corner.
"You can come out now," I tell him and he slowly comes out of the corner. He has a slight surprised expression mixed in with a blush. Haha~ I guess her love comment got to him. Aren't they so cute! They are both so shy in their relationship! I think my heart is going to burst at the cuteness! -insert fangirl squeal-. I must have had a really weird expression on face because Yamamoto was looking at me confused.
"Oh well you've heard what she said, maybe it'll help you tonight, Asari did say she knew the answer but she doesn't realize what the answer is herself," I say and his expression turns blank again before nodding and going back to the classroom. Man, I really haven't ever seen him this depressed. It makes me depressed too.
"Herbivore," A low voice appeared behind me.
"Hi Kyoya~ Once again, I'm an omnivore, I eat all things. Well I have to go to class, you can patrol by yourself today. Thanks babe~" I wink before running off. I get back to the classroom to see Tsuna and Gokudera talking to Yamamoto as well. I guess Tsuna is telling him how he felt during Yamamoto's 'battle' as well.
"What are you doing?" I jumped slightly at the voice.
"Oh Yuki! Nothing, just thinking, that's all," I flash a smile at her and she edges away from me slightly.
"...I feel like I should be scared of you right now," I laugh at her response.
"Anyways, can you move? You're blocking the door,"
"Oh sorry bout that!" I move aside to let her in. She plops into her seat next to Yamamoto's and Gokudera and Tsuna start asking her questions which I'm going to assume it's about if she knows why Yamamoto failed last night. She shrugs and smacks her head onto the desk. *sweatdrop* I watch as Tsuna freaks over it and Gokudera starts yelling. Then Tsuna and Gokudera face Yamamoto again, next thing I know, Gokudera is yelling at Yamamoto clutching his collar. Oh boy, this is sure to get Yuki worked up.
Yuki's POV
I listen to Tsuna talking to Yamamoto when suddenly Gokudera grabs Yamamoto by the collar and yells at him. I stood up abruptly and faced Gokudera by putting a hand on his shoulder. This got his attention and he let go to face me.
"What the hell are you doing you bastard?" He growls.
"Don't just start yelling and using physical movements out of nowhere. This solves nothing," I glare at him.
"He was putting himself down even when the boss is trying to cheer him up," His voice rises.
"Your point? Don't just start random fight Gokudera, you wouldn't like it if every time you f*cked up I broke one of your bones now would you?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Like you could," He scoffed.
"Is that a challenge?" This time I raise both of my eyebrows,
"Y-Yuki, Gokudera, please calm down," Tsuna tries to get us to cool down. We don't say anything anymore but glare intensely at each other.
AFTER SCHOOL...
It's raining, great, the day I don't feel like being in rain, it decides to rain. Oh life, you just simply adore me. In the end I share an umbrella with Mizuki because I felt too awkward to share with Yamamoto. Plus, Mizuki would bound to tease me if I did. That bitch. But along the way home everyone talks about how could we get Yamamoto to pass his inheritance test tonight. Ryohei kept spitting stupid answers,
"...Do you know how irritating it is to listen to you 2," I sigh. Jesus Christ, I swear to god I like Mukuro better than Ryohei and Gokudera. And I haven't even met the guy. Suddenly Yamamoto acts all depressed and goes ahead on home...That asshole, does he not know how we feel when we see him like this?
Mizuki's POV
This evening, Yuki had to go somewhere so she wouldn't able to make it to Yamamoto's inheritance trial, take 2. She said she'd get to the shrine as soon as possible. So the rest of us wait for Yamamoto to arrive. When he does arrive he looks surprised to see us.
"Where's Yuki?" He asked after listening to Tsuna.
"She had something really important to do so she'll be coming by later," I explain. He looks down for a second before nodding. Aw~ Isn't he just simply adorable. I watch intently as they exchange attacks until Asari used his 'Kuzuryu Riverfall'. Yamamoto dodges before charging at Asari who left his back wide open when he stopped abruptly in the air. At this moment Yuki came running up the stairs of the shrine.
"Oh Jesus Christ, I'm never running up those stairs again," She sighs before looking up at Asari and Yamamoto.
"...What did I miss?"
Yuki's POV
I just came running to the shrine to see Asari pass Yamamoto in the inheritance test...Alright then...I can assume that it went well and uh...Nobody died. At the moment that's a great thing. Also, Yamamoto looks like he's on crack again, that makes me happy...That just sounded weird, why did I say that? Anyhow, Asari and Yamamoto are now talking and all happy despite the fact that Asari could have killed Yamamoto...*sigh* Men...Later Asari gives Yamamoto the inheritance. Yay, happy ending, for once.
"Good job Yamamoto!" I yell out and he turns around.
"Oh? Yuki? You're here?" He looks at me confused...*sweatdrop* You would have thought he'd notice I was here already.
"Yeah, I got here as fast as I could and let me tell you, those stairs are a pain in the ass to climb," I stuck my thumb out at the stairs leading up to the shrine. He laughs at me a little before requesting for us to do a huddle...Yup, he's back to normal.
"Oh yeah, Yuki?" Mizuki turns to me after we finished the huddle.
"What?" I asked.
"Did you know that Yamamoto was listening to our conversation during break today at school?" She smirks at me in triumph.
"Of course," I snort. This got a surprised look from Yamamoto and Mizuki.
"Bitch please, it doesn't take much to notice someone hiding behind a corner, besides, I'm supposed to 'help' everyone in their inheritance test," I scoffed.
"...So does that mean everything you said about falling in love with Yamamoto was false?" Mizuki looks at me innocently.
"I said no such thing idiot!" I smacked her on her arm while she cackles.
"Your conversation helped me in today's inheritance test. Thank you," Yamamoto smiled before pecking my forehead. I can slowly feel myself turning more and more red.
"DON'T JUST DO THAT IN PUBLIC YOU BASEBALL FREAK!" I spluttered at him. Everyone starts laughing at me and teasing me.
"I hate you," I mutter glaring at Mizuki.
"Love you too sweetie~" She winks.
3rd Person POV
Asari sat on the roof with G looking at the tenth generation of Vongola with a smile on his face.
"I can't believe you gave him a second chance, you've always been too soft," G sighed.
"Well, he's better than you at least," Neva suddenly appeared.
"What do you mean by that?" G raised an eyebrow. Asari started chuckling.
"What's so funny?" G turned to Asari.
"Nothing, I was just remembering our past, they resemble us greatly," Asari mused.
"Indeed, it's actually quite scary don't you think?" Neva put her arms around Asari's neck to stare at the current Vongola.
"What are you doing? Did you forget you are married to the Primo?" G raised his brow again at Neva's actions.
"Jesus Christ, chill G. Of course I know, I love Giotto with all my heart. Asari is like my male bff, isn't that right Asari?" Neva rolled her eyes at G. Asari responds by smiling gently.
"Who would have thought the rain and snow ring guardian would get together," Neva stared at Yuki and Yamamoto intently.
"You know, that storm guardian, Gokudera Hayato, he resembles you in many ways G," Neva said out of the blue.
"Oh? How so?" G questioned with a frown.
"Seeing his face pisses me off, just like you when we were younger," Neva smirks. Asari sighs and G irks.
"Well, I have to go find Giotto to report a few things to him. Ciao boys," With that, Neva disappeared.
SOMEWHERE ELSE...
"I can't stand that snot-nosed brat," Lampo sighed lazily.
"You were once a snot-nosed brat yourself you know," Neva spoke out.
"Oh, hello Neva," Giotto and Lampo greeted.
"Cut the crap,I have a few things I need to report to you Giotto, is Lampo giving you difficulty?" Neva tilted her head in question.
"No, he was just about to agree, weren't you Lampo," Giotto turned to the green haired man.
"Geez, fine already. I just have to do it right?" Lampo sighed exasperatedly.
"Can't say no to Primo," Neva pointed out.
"I'll deem that brat worthy if he can make it here," Lampo smiles.
"Great, now, we need to discuss other business, bye Lampo," Neva waves at him before turning into a flame.
"I'll be waiting for you Giotto," With that, her aura disappeared.
"Geez, she just gets more and more energetic year after year even in the afterlife huh?" Lampo sighs yet again.
"Yup," Giotto smiled slightly in agreement.
THE NEXT DAY AT THE AMUSEMENT PARK...
Yuki's POV
...I understand that I have to help support and help everyone...But did I really have to go to the amusement park for Lambo's trial? Apparently we have to ride certain attractions to get to the castle...Well I can tell that this lightning guardian is a complete ass and a lazy one too. Gokudera and Yamamoto decide to tag along as well. Could this day get any worse.
"Don't look so pissed Yuki, you'll get wrinkles by the time you're 17," Mizuki teases sipping her soda.
"I don't even care anymore, too much giggling in this park for me to handle," I retort. The first ride we got on were the spinning teacups. I got stuck with Tsuna and Lambo. I'm not complaining...Ok I will complain about the fact that Lambo keeps spinning the damn cup. Mizuki can't stand spinning(apparently) so she sat this one out. I sigh irritably as I watch Lambo spinning the wheel in the middle excitedly.
"Sorry Yuki," Tsuna bows his head down apologetically.
"No worries Tsuna, it's all part of the job," I sigh again. Suddenly the cup starts spinning at a really fast speed.
"What did you do Lambo!?" I clutch onto the sides of the cup for dear life. Oh my god when does this f*cking ride end!? At that thought, the ride came to a stop. I lurched forward before standing up and wobbling.
"Yuki! Are you alright?!" Mizuki came running by me. I flop to the ground face first.
"...Never again..." I moan.
"Yuki!" I heard yells from multiple people.
"Oof!" I grunt as I felt Tsuna and Lambo topple on top of me. After a bit of rest we go to our next destination, go-karts.
"I'm going to sit this one out, you guys have fun," I push Mizuki into the area as I go and watch them have their 'fun'. I watch as Tsuna's car gets knocked over by Lambo, the track sparking up with electricity, basically everyone smashing and destroying property because the cars are out of control and shooting things. *SIP* Yup, I'm glad I'm not there. They eventually rescued Lambo, they were all scorched...But they managed to save the kid. That deserves an A+. I stare at Mizuki's new 'hairstyle', trying not to laugh.
"Don't you DARE laugh, if I see you smile, I will brutally murder you," She glares menacingly at me. She has an afro, that's all I have to say.
"...*snort*," I can't take it. She looks absolutely RIDICULOUS. She turns around to look at me. I stop snickering and stare at her expressionless. She turns back around but gives me a suspicious look. Totally worth it.
"You guys should get cleaned up before Lambo wakes up," I say turning to the boys who are also scorched. They all sigh, taking in a deep breath when Lambo suddenly jumps up and says he wants to play on more rides. Then he jumps out of Yuni's arms and onto my back.
"Jesus Christ!" I took a step forward at the unsuspected impact and knocked right into Yamamoto who crashed onto Gokudera who then fell over and squashed Tsuna. Hey, it's the domino effect! We head to the last ride we need for a stamp.
"...Do I have to go?" I took a step back at the gaudy decorations this ride had. Yamamoto and Mizuki grab both of my hands at the same time before looking at me with a smile.
"Come on Yuki! It'll be fun!" Yamamoto grins.
"Besides, it's your job to SUPPORT everyone!" Mizuki tilts her head slightly, still smiling.
"...I'll go...Just stop smiling at me like that," I look away. *shudder* Too much happiness in one go. I sat next to Mizuki as we entered the ride. I kept repeatedly sighing and mumbling about how boring this was.
"I know! Let's sing a song!" Mizuki exclaims. I stare at her,
"Oh f*ck no,"
"Too bad...Let's see...Oh! I know everybody knows this song!" She cheers happily.
"I love you~ You hate me~" She sang cheerily...Oh god, it's that song about the purple dinosaur. She nudges me to continue.
"...We're all part of Tenth's family," I continue grudgingly.
"Listen to Tenth's pet lion roar~"
"...Alcoholic dinosaur," I finished. Everyone stared at me.
"...What? It rhymed," I stated in a matter of factly fashion. Everyone burst out laughing at this statement. But it's true, it did rhyme. After a while of riding, the robots suddenly surround and attack us. We got out of our seats and started running towards the exit. We got out but Tsuna went back to get a stamp and was almost crushed by one of the giant robots when Gokudera shot it down.
"Please...Go drown yourself in self-pity," I huff slashing the robot with my scythe. Tsuna runs away to the castle where Lambo would be deemed worthy or not. He better be deemed worthy or I will literally obliterate this entire park.
"Isn't this fun Yuki?" Mizuki laughs while shooting one.
"No, this takes effort and work, and you how I feel about both of those things," I sighed. She just laughed and continued shooting.
LATER...
Is it over? Are we done yet? Is it over? Where the hell is Tsuna?! Oh wait, there he is! It seems that they look happy. Great, we can all go home and relax now...Oh my god...I didn't get interrupted saying relax this time! Hallelujah! Praise the lord! We all go to Tsuna's house to celebrate. I listen to all the conversations going around. As usual, Gokudera is being a big bitch and Yamamoto is there to try to calm him down.
"I wonder who's going to do the next trial," Mizuki wondered out loud and as if on cue, a silver soft flame burst out of nowhere right next to me.
"HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! That took years off of my life," I yelled clutching my chest. I wasn't surprised at the flame, it was the heat of the flame. You all know how much I hate heat and damn, I felt like I was going to sweat next to that fire.
"Oh hey Artemis! What are you doing here?" Mizuki looks at the woman with silver flames in surprise. Everyone else looks surprised that this woman is the first generation of the moon ring. She actually looked quite different from Mizuki, she had silver wavy hair, pale skin, and platinum cat like eyes.
"I've come to test your resolve," She stated in a grand tone.
"...Two tests in one day, it's your lucky day Mizuki," I patted her on the back stiffly before gently pushing her.
"You guys can go settle this elsewhere, good luck!" I said quickly trying to get them to go away.
"Hold on, for this test, I will need the snow guardian as well," Artemis stared at me.
"...F*ck me, alright, what do you want from me?" I huffed irritably.
"Nothing much, just wanted to go out to a cafe and discuss something with the both of you," I stared at her as she made this request.
"Fine, let's go and get this succession test over with, I'll see you guys later with great results," I said following Mizuki and Artemis.
"Bye Yuki!"
AT A CAFE...
We took a seat and ordered a few drinks.
"So what do you expect from Mizuki to succeed your power?" I ask staring right at Artemis. She stops drinking her tea and looks at me before placing down the teacup gently.
"I suppose there's no use beating around the bush..." She looks down sadly. Mizuki looks at her curiously.
"There's no need for Mizuki to show her resolve..." Artemis clears her throat.
"What do you mean by that?" Mizuki's eyebrows furrow.
"I have observed Mizuki's actions the past few days, and I deem her unworthy of succession of my power," Artemis looks at both of us.
"WHAT!?" Both Mizuki and I yell at her in sync. People around us stare and we quiet down.
"Would you mind telling me why she is unworthy of your power?" I narrow my eyes at Artemis who sips her tea again.
"You should know that answer yourself, 10th Guardian of the Snow ring," She eyes me.
"Why does everyone say that!?" I grumble angrily.
"Doesn't Mizuki always give you trouble?" Artemis raises an eyebrow at me.
"...Excuse me?" I also raise an eyebrow.
"She seems to always give you trouble, always needing you to help her and assist her not only in battle, but in school and personal issues as well," Artemis continues to say. I can feel Mizuki slowly shrinking back into the couch.
"The Moon Guardian is almost equivalent to the position of a right hand man but to the Snow Guardian. She fails all aspects of assisting you, therefore, I deem her unworthy,"
"Why you-" I am cut off by Mizuki's hand on my shoulder.
"Please don't cause a commotion Yuki, what she said is completely true, never once was I really useful to you right? I'm sure someone else would serve as a better guar-" I cut her off.
"Shut up Mizuki," I growled before turning back to Artemis who is looking at us in interest.
Mizuki's POV
I wince at Yuki's sharp tone.
"While it is true that Mizuki always gives me nothing but trouble. Yes, she annoys me, pisses me off, she may be the biggest and dumbest bitch to me," I flinch at Yuki's harsh words.
"But. Yes, here comes the 'but'. Never has she ever left my side in my time of need. She might not have given the best advice but she stood with me every time I was at my weakest point. She has never abandoned me when everyone else did, she continued to accompany me even when I was considered an outcast by my family and so called 'friends'," She never broke her eye contact with Artemis once. I even saw Artemis crack a little under Yuki's intense gaze.
"She is able to change emotions quickly which is exactly like the Moon Guardian. She may not be worthy in your eyes and probably other's as well, but to me, she is an irreplaceable guardian, and friend," Yuki said naturally.
"..." I could feel myself swell with happiness. THE FEEEEEELZ~
"As a Snow Guardian, I demand that you deem Mizuki worthy of your power and let her pass the inheritance test. We both know that the Snow Guardian is superior to the Moon, so whatever I demand, you have to use the best of your ability to help me accomplish it," Yuki commands. I stare at her like she was crazy, saying that to the FIRST generation. but it also made me so happy that she was willing to be so brash on my behalf.
"Awe~ I love you too Yuki~" I glomped her and cuddled.
"G-Get off of me you ass! I never said I loved you!" She tried pushing me off but I shook my head refusing to let go.
"You were implying it," I pointed out and she sighs shaking her head.
"You're a pain in the brain," She huffs irritably. We both hear some chuckling. We turn our heads to see Artemis smiling brightly while laughing.
"What's so funny?" Yuki questions raising a brow.
"Nothing," She replies but continues grinning brightly.
"Man, keeping that act up was hard," She groans stretching.
"ACT!?" Both Yuki and I yell earning a few glares from the other people.
"Yes," She smiles warmly.
"This entire conversation was the test," She smiles cheerily. I saw Yuki's eye twitch.
"It was to see that if Yuki here was willing to give up on you or not," Artemis explains. My eyes widen.
"...Check please!" Yuki slams the table furiously. We go out after Yuki payed and Artemis continues to talk.
"I suspect that the Storm Guardian's test will be very similar to yours Mizuki," She smiles at both Yuki and I.
"So does this mean you approve of me?!" I ask her excitedly. She nods before turning into a silver flame.
"I, Artemis, deem you worthy of her inheritance," A flash of silver came out and shot into my box.
"I'll look forward to watching you 2 in action together in the future~" I could have sworn she winked before disappearing. Yuki and I stood there dumbstruck.
"...Well...Isn't she a breath of fresh air," Yuki breaks the silence after gawking. I couldn't do anything but nod. I came back to my senses and then jumped onto Yuki.
"W-What are you doing!? Get off you pervert!" She yells frantically.
"Never! I love you so much! You're the bestest friend ever!" I gushed.
"Bestest isn't a word," She stated, struggling to escape my grasp.
"Way to ruin the mood," I pout but bury my face into her.
"...What am I going to do with you," She sighs but I can feel her affectionate gentle strokes on my head, trying not to mess up my hair.
"You know, if I was a guy, you'd totally be my type," I looked up and winked at her.
"Please, you're basically a female counterpart of Yamamoto when you're happy. I can handle 1 of him, but not 2," She snorts.
"You're right...Well I at least want to be a good auntie in the future..." I put a finger on my chin.
"Even if I did have kids, I wouldn't give them in your care, who knows what will happen to them if I put them with you," She scoffs.
"You're so mean Yuki...That won't be a problem! Because you're going to make a lot of babies with him in the future!" I cheer and snickered as she choked on her own spit.
"What the hell man! Don't jinx me! I-I'm only f*cking 15! Stop discussing this with me you nasty," She looks away flushing red as a tomato.
"Oh you are just simply adorable~" I coo.
D-Don't tease me..." She huffs but she looks so vulnerable! Oh my god, I bet you my life that if Yamamoto saw this, he would rape her on the spot! What? He's a perfectly healthy teenage boy with desires. How do I know this? That's for me to know~ (A/N: jc: stop breaking the 4th wall mizuki animepup: and you need to stop interrupting)
"...What are you thinking about Mizuki? You have a weird perverted grandma face on," She looks at me concerned.
"It's nothing~" I giggle uncontrollably.
"I really regret claiming you as my best friend," She looks down but her ears are still red.
"I know you don't mean that!" I put my arm around her neck and push her down so she's down to my height.
"Why can't you grow taller? You're older than me but shorter than me, somethings wrong with you," She states.
"Something's wrong with me?! Something's wrong with YOU! You're the youngest yet the second tallest in Tsuna's family!" I exclaim. We continue to bicker and banter, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
3rd Person POV
FROM A DISTANCE...
Artemis watches the 2 girls bicker from afar. She smiles gently remembering the past. She takes out a stop watch and gazes at it when suddenly Neva appears behind her.
"Hello Neva, are you having a good evening?" Artemis greets curtly.
"Oh please Artemis. Stop mocking me and just talk to me normally," Neva sighs.
"Haha, I couldn't help it, after hearing the 10th Snow Guardian speaking and looking at me like that, I can't help but feel inferior to you," Artemis chuckles.
"Oh please, look at those 2, that was basically us," Neva watches the 2 girls amused.
"Yes but they're missing one person..." Artemis trailed off.
"Artemis, don't tell me that you're still mourning over the Wind Guardian," Neva raises a brow.
"Well I can't help it...She was your sister wasn't she?" Artemis looks up at Neva.
"...Sister or not, Flora was a traitor. She deserves to be punished," Neva looked away, bitterness evident in her tone.
"...It must have killed you huh? To have to lock your own sister away in an ice encasing you created," Artemis said gently. Neva pursed her lips and stares down at Artemis coldly.
"Why are you even talking about her. I destroyed that Wind Ring back when we were alive, why do you even bring this back?" Artemis flinches at Neva's cruel gaze and voice.
"I-I'm sorry..." Artemis hangs her head quickly.
"...No, I am sorry, I shouldn't have talked to you like that. But do not forget, she befriended you to get information on the Vongola, she betrayed you in the end. She betrayed all of us...People like her aren't worth the effort to talk about," Neva sighs but her tone became gentler.
"You're right...I'm sor-"
"Shhh...No need to apologize Artemis, come, we need to return," Neva holds out a hand and Artemis takes it.
"...Ok," Artemis holds Neva's hand firmly.
