Saved! By who?

Bernadette couldn't sit forever so she began to do the only thing that calmed her, she paced the island. She only ate and drank what she needed to; she really didn't know how long she was going to be stuck here. The most important thing was not to look at the horizon and not think about him. That bloody pirate needed to get out of her head.

She fought off sleep as well as she fought off her tears, which wasn't as well as she wished. But honestly she was all alone, no would ever know.

Bernadette eventually she sat back down, staring at nothing in peculiar. She ended up throwing her knives at the empty sand. He had let her keep all her knives, including the one he gave her. She tried not to think about him, to push him into the back of her mind.

Soon enough though, she fell asleep against a tree and as soon as she did, she was gently shaken awake. Bernadette's defensives went up and her knife came out to defend herself. Did Killian actually come back for her? Why would he do that? She was not in the mood to talk to him, about anything.

"Bernadette?" Her wrist was caught by a strong hand. "It's me, drop the knife." Came a familiar voice.

Her eyes adjusted to the sudden light of a torch, she noticed several people standing around her. Then she focused on the face closest to her. "Robin? How did you find me?"

"Derek somehow knew you were in trouble so he sent me." He helped Bernadette to her feet.

She looked around to see the other men. "You brought your Merry Men with you?" Bernadette asked.

"We never travel alone; we are a group that takes care of its own. We had better get going in case your pirate friend comes back."

"He's not coming back." She said more to herself than Robin. He led her to a small rowboat. It along with a few other boats quickly sailed to a much larger ship.

"So where did the thief of Sherwood Forest get a ship?" Bernadette wanted to know.

He gave her a small smile. "For friends, I will move the world."

They boarded, there were a few more men there. They began to sail away quickly; Robin wanted to put as much distance between them and the island. She was warmly greeted by a familiar face on the deck.

"It's so good to see you safe, Bernadette." The middle aged man in a robe hugged her.

"It wasn't anything I couldn't handle, Friar Tuck." She returned his hug.

"First things first, you need fresh clothes and food. The captain left you with no food or water that son of a…" Robin began to say.

"He did leave me rations, Robin." Bernadette had no idea why she was defending Killian, and stopped herself from saying anything. "I don't want to talk about it."

"Fine. Marian packed this for you." He handed her a sack, which she opened to find a simple dress.

Of course Marian would give her a dress to wear. "I'll have to thank her when we get back." She shook her head before heading below deck.

Bernadette quickly changed, discarding her old clothes. She kept her knives with her however, as many as the dress would allow.

There was a knock at the door, which she answered. Outside was a man Bernadette didn't know, but he had food on a tray.

"Robin asked me to bring this down to you." He said, holding it out.

"Thank you." She took it, very glad for something other than what Killian had packed for her. "Who are you?" She asked, taking a bite of the roll.

"Will, Will Scarlet. I heard a lot of about you, why did you go with the pirate? It was the treasure wasn't it?" He seemed curious.

Robin appeared at the door, silencing anymore questions. "I don't think Bernadette wants to answer any questions today." Will almost sulked away.

"Doubt that will stop you from asking questions, Robin." She commented when the door closed.

"Of course not." He said calmly before finally exploding. "What were you thinking? You could have been killed or worst! Derek has been worried sick about you. Did you really think you could outwit an infamous pirate?"

"But Robin I did. I bested him. All to be able to get back to Derek so we can lead a normal life without hardship."

"Do you have any idea what happened to Derek? Where he is right now? While you were off doing gods only know with a pirate, Derek is a prisoner of a queen."

"I know, that's why I left him, why I betrayed Killian."

"You're on a first name basis with him, nice."

Bernadette rolled her eyes. "I am going to get that treasure." She tried to stay calm.

"No, you're not. This is my ship and if I say no, that's the final answer." He growled.

"I spent six months of my life on a stinking pirate ship and you are saying that I will have nothing to show for it?" Bernadette yelled.

"Basically you need a souvenir? Are you sure you aren't carrying one now?" Robin yelled.

Bernadette was almost stunned into silence. "What exactly are you implying, Robin?"

"Exactly what you think I'm saying. And you are taking your anger out on the wrong person. "

"Either you sail to the island or I will take a boat myself and do what I need to do." She stood her ground.

"You can't."

"Watch me."

The two friends stared each other down.

Robin was the first to speak. "There's no stopping you, is there?"

"No." She answered honestly

He sighed, leaning the table. "You were always so thick headed and I knew you before you…went off the deep end. Nothing I say is going to change your mind, is it?"

Bernadette repeated. "No."

"Then let's go get your treasure."

"Home sweet home." Bernadette said she finally walked into her home after six months away.

"I'm guessing you missed it." Robin commented, carrying one handle of the chest while Will carried the other.

"I did." She looked around, realizing how much in disarray but no one had been living there in a while. Something she was going to change that soon.

"Nice place you have here." Will dropped the chest and looked around before letting his eyes go back to the chest. "You would think with the bragging you said he did about it, that it would be bigger."

"Men tend to stretch the truth about the size of things." She eyed the chest and shrugged. "It's enough to get me on my feet."

"Well, if this is it, I'll be heading out." Will started to head for the door, Bernadette grabbed his arm and handed him a handful of coins.

"For your troubles." She said. He looked at her, conflicted on what to do next.

"No, I shouldn't. You worked so hard for it." Will shook his head.

"You had to go with me to get the treasure. Take it; I see it in your eyes." Bernadette knew how to read people.

Reluctantly, Will took it, muttered a quiet thanks.

There was movement from a side room. Bernadette was slightly concerned and pulled a dagger out. Who was in her home?

There was a blur of fur and suddenly she was on her back with her fur baby on her chest.

"Luna, I missed you too. Don't worry about Derek. I will save him." Bernadette petted the concerned wolf.

She looked up and saw Will almost hiding behind Robin.

"Sorry, it's just… that's a wolf…" He tried to cover his fear. Robin shook his head.

Will nodded and walked out of the house.

"Tell the others I'll catch up later." He said then turned back to Are you sure you are going to be alright?" Robin asked.

"Robin, I can handle myself, thank you for worrying and everything you did. You didn't have to come get me." She stood up but Luna stayed glued to her side.

"Derek came to me, asking me to go get you from some island because the pirate you ran off with did something stupid…" He started to get worked up again, but he calmed himself down. "How did he even know where you were?"

Bernadette held up her wrist. "Enchanted bracelets, Derek made a deal with the Dark One for them. I don't know what his end of the bargain was and part of me doesn't want to know."

"He always put you first, worries about you a lot. What are you planning on doing to save him?"

"I don't know yet. But I'll find a way, I always do." She looked back at the treasure.

"Are you going to keep any of that? Or will it all be used for taxes and the like?" Robin asked.

Bernadette picked out a pearl necklace with a single gold coin, it was just as pretty as the diamond necklace she lost. Then she fished through the jewels and coins and found a gold ring with a turquoise stone. Bernadette put both on. "They are reminders that I bested a pirate." She said quickly.

"Of course they are." Robin commented quietly, not wanting to argue anymore.

A sudden harsh knock at the door made both of them pause and stare at each other in shock.

Robin! Ouch on the souvenir comment though. Will Scarlet! I'll talk about him in a future story. I love him but have some issues. Seriously, who's at the door?
