QBH: Okay I am not going to do 2 chapters at once or even published back to back.
Luigi: Are you sure?
QBH: Positive. I don't make this chapters so fast since I do research about the details and what not. Although I admit writing as fast as this do surprise me how far I had written the story and I am not even finished.
Luigi: That's good to know. So anything new to report on?
QBH: Oh! Right ... Achievement unlocked 4000 views. Thanks again for the support and reads. I hope I can get more soon; I'll keep writing as long people are interested.
Mario: So any video game news on you?
QBH: No news except somehow I have been listening a lot of Sonic Music lately.
Sonic: Well nobody couldn't resist sonic game music there often good!
QBH: Except your games have some questionable play styles over the years. I still see a copy of the 2006 game at full retail price.
QBH: Anyway, Enough news segments. I present you guys this chapter! Enjoy!
Chapter 34: Marth versus Luigi
Luigi is now in a mix of emotions as he walked back to the bleachers knowing that his match will start in a few minutes since the cool down time is extended a bit.
As he met Mario and Peach, both show some concern regarding what had happened.
"Luigi, how is Zelda doing? Is she alright?" Peach
"(Sigh) yeah she just woke up. There isn't anything serious this time." Luigi as he sat down
"That was quick thinking bro. If it wasn't for you and Link to swiftly get the doctor, who knows what could have happened." Mario
"…" Luigi
"Something the matter, Luigi?" Peach
"I am just worried …" Luigi
"About Zelda? We all are right now worried too but you should focus your match coming up too." Mario
"Yeah I know. (sigh)" Luigi
Link suddenly arrived to also relay the news.
"Well I can't stick around the infirmary much longer and Dr. Mario safely advised us that we can see her once this tournament is over so she can rest in peace." Link
As Link came by Luigi, he had a message for Luigi that he had to say it to him in whisper.
"Zelda told me that she greatly appreciates what you have done for her. She wanted to tell something special to you later once she has recovered or the tournament is over." Link
Hearing Zelda's message made Luigi relax a bit out of his worries.
The commotion died down when the tournament now is going to continue.
The next match is between Marth and Luigi at the Final Destination stage. As the announcement was made, Luigi knew where he should focus and leave his worries about everything later. As for Marth by now envious of Luigi's actions earlier gladly headed to the respective stage to do battle with him.
As both have entered the stage, Marth now tries to break Luigi's spirit.
"I still can't believe what you did for Zelda. Truly she doesn't need that kind of treatment." Marth
Luigi drop his guard a bit but replied
"What would you do if someone is seriously injured? Ignore him until it is too late? Don't be ridiculous Marth! I just did that out of worry. Would you have done the same thing if it was me?" Luigi
"(sigh) Yes. Still I won't allow the beautiful Zelda be associated with a cowardly plumber like you. Clearly she deserves someone better, maybe a prince perhaps." Marth as he brushes his hair
This made Luigi upset and mad
"Are you even sure that is what Zelda wants?! Do you even know her to begin with?! Don't make that assumption just because of royalty or status!" Luigi
"You do have a point because of your brother and Princess Peach but their case is different, I doubt Zelda would still be interested in you. Let alone I would get her under Link's nose." Marth
"Would Link be okay with that too? What makes you think you could get the girl just because you have the status, royalty or even perks?! Most girls aren't that naïve or simple." Luigi
"Link is also simple and yet naïve too and I would prove it to you by beating you up that is how." Marth
Link for some odd reason sneezed while Zelda suddenly shivered out of fear something she couldn't even understand.
Luigi couldn't believe Marth's attitude towards him and this again like his fight against Bowser has Zelda centered in the argument. Luigi knew deep down Zelda shouldn't be in involved in this entire mess but there is no turning back now ever since they met and have a special promise together.
Luigi just became silent knowing this match isn't all about Zelda but in fact it is his pride and prove to Marth that everything he said isn't all true. Even before the match countdown begins, Luigi knows he has to be cautious knowing he is fighting someone with a better reach than his and will counter more if he makes mistakes.
The early part of the match began with no surprise as Marth continues to hammer Luigi despite giving Marth 75% until he KO his first stock, this loss made Marth gloat a bit.
"You see that … You can never be good enough to defeat me." Marth
Luigi noticing he is not even paying attention just walked to him and hit him with his Fire Jump Punch.
The audience by now is confused why Marth took the chance to taunt his opponent when it is still a serious match.
"How dare you KO me? I wasn't even through gloating at your face." Marth
"We are supposed to do battle you idiot! Don't think I can kick your ass just because you got a small lead!" Luigi pointing at Marth
"I still think you are nothing but a loser who couldn't possibly beat me." Marth
"(twitch) What did you call me, Prince Gay?" Luigi
"I am not gay and you are loser." Marth
"WRAAAAAGH! That is it!" Luigi as he charged his green missile
Marth thought by the huge distance between them he couldn't reach him but Luigi's missile misfired and quickly blew into Marth reeling him far.
The audience again is shaking their heads why this match has slowed into a grudge match of some sort.
"Mario, do you have any idea what are those two are doing right now?" Peach
Mario shook his head
"I am just confused as you are. They must have had a discussion somehow and Luigi somehow is going all out again." Mario
The Match just gotten intense despite the belief that Marth will hammer Luigi since their matchup is definitely uneven but Luigi manage to somehow string enough damage to go on par with Marth.
At the middle point, 2 stocks each are between the two and not one is willing to back down what to them is a battle over a relationship. Marth thinks he could get Zelda just because of their status alone not caring about whether or not Zelda would reciprocate the same idea. Luigi on the other hand, knows now that Marth is a total egotistic pretty boy; Zelda isn't the type to be swoon that easily; wouldn't back down knowing that Zelda's happiness that he promised her and even though Luigi's feelings for Zelda are at stake as well it didn't matter if he still lose at this match just as long he proved it to her that he cares her.
Marth knew he could just pressure his way into Luigi no matter what since he has the better range on Luigi but his recovery is his weak point and Luigi knows this as well as his put enough combos that rival his brother but his actually cause KOs better.
However the match reach to its foregone conclusion as the battle reach its end. Both are in their last stocks and reaching ever so close. At this point Luigi still hasn't back down but he knows Marth could just hit him with any move and it is over. Marth knew this and swiftly launched him far off the stage and edge hogged the ledge giving Marth the victory.
Surprisingly the broadcast was still on running as there is since there is any after match talk. As soon as Luigi return to by revival platform, he is already expecting the inevitable gloat from Marth.
"See that! This is what separates winners from losers. So go back to your loser spot and hope you stay there!" Marth
Luigi didn't back down from that verbal jab but he is willing to talk back with a crossed expression.
"Big deal as if winning means everything, in the end you will be an arrogant asshole who prides only on himself! Zelda would never go out with someone who's smug and arrogant like you!" Luigi
"I don't care what the loser of this match says and you being pathetic and utterly worthless opponent to me doesn't deserve Zelda either!" Marth
Luigi has his teeth clenched and quickly grabbed Marth pummel him three times and then spin him around three times out of the stage and sadly even he couldn't reach the ledge and got a KO.
All the while Luigi doing the aforementioned attack he let Marth have a piece of his grown annoyance at him. For some unknown reason a small aura appeared in Luigi's eyes but no one saw that not even Marth as he is too busy trying to break free.
"I STILL SAY YOUR ARE STILL AN ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE! ASSHOLE! I SWEAR IF YOU BAD MOUTH ME AGAIN I WILL KICK YOUR ASS TO KINGDOM COME!" Luigi
Luigi after releasing his range ran off even before Marth returned back and quickly headed to a quiet area backstage near the stadium to cry out his frustrations.
As for Marth, he didn't care about Luigi's word as he knows he can beat no matter what in future matches, and promptly return to the stadium.
The audience are now confused how to make about this turn of events. For the two villains, they were entertained to see the 'green stache' finally lose plus it is almost time for their plan to strike so they might as well enjoy it for a while.
For Mario, Peach and Link, they feel sorry for Luigi losing but once this tournament is over with, they would still have their party to cheer him up though.
"Mario, I still don't understand what had happened at the match and judging from Luigi's reaction, I feel absolutely bad for him!" Peach
Mario adjusts his hat after taking it out from wiping his confused sweat and said.
"I never seen my bro react this way in our matches before too. I wonder what made him so upset about." Mario
"I hate to tell you guys but I think it is about Marth that you should know …" Link feeling guilty
Mario and Peach just stared at Link confused.
"You got to be careful around Marth, that guy has a big ego and only thinks others who could go on par with his skills deserve his time and attention." Link
Mario and Peach understood now what Link meant.
"Link, how come you never told us this before?" Mario
"Would it be the same treatment if I fought Marth and still lose?" Peach
"Mario, I thought it would only be me since my sword skills were not the same as his and Peach, He would only treat the men weaker and pathetic only; oddly he is always treats the ladies with chivalry since he sometimes said they deserve a good looking prince like him." Link
Mario just raised his eyebrow thinking that way of thinking is absurd while Peach wasn't exactly too keen about a prince who may act nice to her but smack talk everyone else who couldn't fight him squarely.
"That would explain why Luigi was upset at the guy." Mario
"I thought the same way, even though I appreciate Marth's skills as a swordsman, he isn't the best even we hang out and train. I could consider him a friend if he isn't a smug some of the time." Link
As the trio still continue to discuss regarding either Marth or about the match earlier, Luigi found a nice empty spot near the infirmary and conveniently found a nearby sandbag to pound his anger and tears.
"What makes Marth think he can just sweep off Zelda's heart like that?" Luigi as he pounded the sandbag
Luigi stopped a bit knowing he is just centering Zelda again
"No, Zelda shouldn't be part of this whole thing.… (sigh) Now I couldn't say that since I met and became friends with her. Still I care about her and made a promise to her. Still she still has her own choices to make regarding about this so I shouldn't influence her about this." Luigi bummed
Luigi then return to his more anger induced state since he still is upset at Marth calling him a loser. He may have lost a few matches before but this is the first time someone disrespect him when the matchup is clearly uneven.
As Luigi's anger subsided, the silence soon became broken when a huge earthquake like noise began. This is the cue Bowser and Ganondorf have been waiting for and soon enough in both snap their fingers; various enemies appeared and started wreaking havoc all over the stadium and various stages.
While everyone is now surprised or shocked, both villains took the panic as a distraction and slowly slipped out among the chaos to do their evil deed.
QBH: Now I ignited the dramatic bit, I am expected a lot of things to work on.
Luigi: Well, what makes you upload the next one this early?
QBH: I guess it is an apology to the previous chapter I uploaded but I felt I should update or give some info regarding this story.
Mario: Well that seems fair, though you got something bothering you?
QBH: Yeah... To the readers who expect me to write that Luigi would do too well then that is ridiculously impossible even in Smash standards.
Luigi: You sure about this? I mean you do write a good story and all. Would you explain your take on this?
QBH: For any story, any protagonist should not be ridiculously overpowered that there is no conflict since that would take away the suspense needed for the plot. I know Luigi doesn't get much big stories in smash but in respect I made this entire story is for him.
Mario: Well that makes some sense.
QBH: For my consistent readers, I will post again weekly or something like that and thanks again for the 4000 views. I wonder if i could get 10000 before the end of the year.
