Chapter 35 Gathering Forces

(Arthur's note: the Valerie from Dan's timeline will be referred to as Future Valerie so as not to get confused, when she meets her past counterpart. The same goes for Vlad, when they talk about past Vlad)
Danny and his team returned to Earth and went to FentonWorks. Danny, Dani, and Jack were warmly greeted by Maddie and Jazz, who gave them hugs and kisses. Sam ran up to Danny gave him a warm embrace and a kiss.
"Your back." Said Sam with a smile.
"I promised I'd be back. I always keep my promises." Said Danny with a smile.
Tucker went up to greet Valerie.
"You made it back. We still going out on a date, when this is over?" Said Tucker.
"Of course we are. I like you Tucker." Said Valerie as she gave Tucker a small kiss on the cheek.
Tucker blushed slightly. Future Valerie smiled at her younger counterpart and Tucker. It was good to see her counter part have a love life. In her own timeline Future Valerie had barely any time for a social life much less a love life. Then Dan showed up and pretty much turned the world into hell. Future Valerie shuddered at the memory, she then noticed that Future Vlad was sitting in a chair and starring at the ground sadly. Future Valerie then remembered Future Vlad's encounter with his younger counter part. She could only imagine what kind of turmoil he was going through after the encounter.
"Hey how you holding up Vlad?" Asked Future Valerie as she walked up to Future Vlad.
"I'm...ok. It's just...I still can't believe how evil the me of this timeline is. He was trying...to commit mass murder and hold the world hostage! It disgust me to think I would once enjoy hurting people...and that my pride and greed once controlled every aspect of my life!" Said Vlad as he clenched his knees.
"Hey calm down! Stop beating yourself up about how you used to be. Your a better person now. You made mistakes and treated people badly, but your...a better person now and your trying to make up for the wrongs you've done. I forgave you in our timeline and so did Dani. Danny forgave you after he realized how much you changed and when me came to this timeline, Jack, Maddie, and the others forgave you. You've contributed to the team and helped us out. We were both brought to this timeline to help deal with Dan. Were both here for a reason." Said Future Valerie as she put a hand on Future Vlad's shoulder.
"I...suppose your right, but it's my fault Dan came into being in the first place! If...I haven't been evil in the first place Danny's ghost half wouldn't have been corrupted in the first place...and Danny's human half would still be alive!" Said Future Vlad.
Jack and Danny over heard Future Vlad and looked at him. Danny had a some what idea of what Future Vlad was going through. Danny remembered his feelings of shock and dread, when he first encountered his future self, but it was way worse for Future Vlad. Dan was a possibility of what Danny could have turned into, while Future Vlad was a possibility of what Vlad could have turned into. Future Vlad saw the error of his ways and was trying to make amends for them, while his past counterpart continued to become even worse. The two Fentons walked over to Future Vlad to comfort him.
"Hey relax Vlad. Your nothing like that other you. Your like the best friend I had in our college days. Your a hero if you'd hadn't intervened, on the satellite several people would have died." Said Jack.
"Don't blame yourself for what happened to the me of your timeline. Your were trying to help him. No one could have predicted what happened after your separated his human and the ghost half of the Danny of your timeline. You helped us out a ton. You helped returned me to my timeline, you helped infiltrate the Guys in White base, you made the gauntlets that freed Sam and Tucker, and you helped put an end to the you of this timelines evil plan. Your a member of this team and we thank you for everything you've done." Said Danny.
"Your...really mean it?" Asked Future Vlad.
"Every word." Said Danny.
"Thank you." Said Future Vlad.
"Your welcome." Said Danny.
"Your the man Vlad!" Cheered Jack.
Everybody else nodded in agreement. Vlad stood up with a look of confidence on his face.
Danny grabbed a cellphone and a ghost tracker.
"Now I have to go see a couple of people and ghost. Dan is going to come back and his bringing a huge army. Were going to need all the help we can get." Said Danny as he went ghost, turned intangible, and flew out of the building.
Danny first made a phone call to The Commander.
"Hello Danny. Good job with dealing with that fleet." Said The Commander.
"I need to meet with you to discuss a different matter. I'll meet you at the top of FentonWorks." Said Danny.
"I'll be there shortly." Said The Commander.
Danny then pulled out the ghost tracker and started following a signal to an old warehouse. As he got near the warehouse Danny's Ghost Sense went off.
"What brings you here Phantom?" Asked Skulker as he, Ember, and several other ghost appeared around Danny and surrounded him.
"I haven't come here to fight Skulker. I need to talk to you about an important matter." Said Danny.
"And that would be?" Asked Skulker.
"It concerns the guy whose calling himself the Ghost King." Said Danny.
That got the ghost attention. They all looked around nervously. Skulker silenced them with a raised hand.
"Alright you have our attention." Said Skulker.
"Good. I need you to follow me to my place. There's someone we need to discuss this with." Said Danny.
"Fine." Said Skulker.
The two of them took off into the sky towards FentonWorks. They got there and landed on the roof. A few minutes latter they heard the sound of jet boots and turned to see The Commander coming in with his Ecto-Skeleton. Skulker looked at the armored figure and recognized it as a Guys in White agent. A bunch of blasters and claws poked out of his armor as he glared and pointed his weapons at Danny and The Commander.
"You traitor! Your lured me into a trap to be caught by them!" Shouted Skulker.
The Commander landed on the roof, but he didn't make any sudden moves. Danny got between The Commander and Skulker.
"I didn't trick you Skulker. This is the guy I told you we were going to meet." Said Danny.
Skulker glared at Danny before putting his guns away.
"Now explain, why you brought us here to discuss." Said The Commander.
"Ok. Your both aware of the ghost called Dan. His the new Ghost King and he plans to bring a huge army to Earth to destroy humanity and enslave anyone, who doesn't obey him. He plans to start with Amity. My team can't handle it all on our own. We need the help of both your forces. We've had our past conflicts with one another, but right now we share a common enemy, who we need to stop. If we don't it will be the end of everything we know. Can I count on both of you to help out, put aside your differences and work together?" Said Danny as he looked at both The Commander and Skulker.
The Commander and Skulker looked at one another then back at Danny. They both nodded their heads.
"You have the aid of the government." Said The Commander.
"My forces will help out to." Said Skulker.
"Good thank you guys. Get your forces ready. I have a feeling that the invasion will happen soon." Said Danny.
Skulker and The Commander nodded and took off into the sky heading their separate ways. Danny went intangible and went back into his home.
Unbeknownst to Danny the ancients had been observing him. They floated before a viewer watching the young hero.
"Truly remarkable." Said Cosmo.
"The young hero has gotten the ghost and the hunters to put aside their differences and work together to face the coming conflict." Said Justice.
"The time to present him with the artifacts is coming." Said Clockwork.
"But even with the artifacts there's no guarantee that he will win." Said Discord.
"Your right. There's something else we can give him that will help him face the challenge up ahead." Said Clockwork as he changed into his old man form.
The other ancients looked at Clockwork then at each other. They knew what Clockwork was talking about.
"Surely...you don't mean that? The boy's body won't be able to handle that energy.
"I do mean it. Danny has the strength and the will to handle the power. I have seen many brave warriors over the ages, but none like Danny. He is destined for greatness." Said Clockwork.
The ancients exchanged looks with one another before nodding in agreement with Clockwork.
"Very well we should go retrieve him soon." Said Cosmo.
"The darkest hour is approaching. Danny is the only one who can prevent total chaos from occurring." Said Clockwork as he looked at a viewer at Danny.
In the Ghost Zone the surviving Observants had returned to their secret base to prepare for war. They could sense a huge army of evil gather and they were preparing to fight it.
At Dan's castle Dan was sitting on his throne healing up and looking at a viewer that showed Danny's encounter with the Vlad of his timeline. An evil thought popped into Dan's mind. Eyeuran sat by his master's throne awaiting orders.
"Eyeuran I just came up with a brilliant idea, who to recruit next." Said Dan as he pointed at the viewer that now displayed an image if Vlad in human form sulking and brooding in a chair. "It's time I got reacquainted with my father." He said as he opened up a ghost portal and flew through it.
Vlad sat in a chair thinking about his encounter with Danny and the man who claimed to be a future version of himself. It really peeved Vlad how his future self had scolded him and told Vlad how he was in the wrong. Then he had the nerve to ruin Vlad's carefully laid plan which had taken him months to prepare. Vlad just glared at the floor in anger, cursing everyone he believed to have done him wrong. Then Vlad's ghost sense went off. Vlad quickly leapt to his feet and went ghost.
"Who dares enter my home?" Demanded Vlad as his hands glowed with energy.
"I do." Said a figure so walked out of the shadows.
Vlad took the new figure in. The figure whore a black and white outfit with a cape, a black metal gauntlet on his right arm, a black ring on his left hand, and a floating white crown on his head. On his chest was a familiar D symbol. The figure had green skin, red eyes, and hair made out of living white flames.
"Hello father." Said the figure with a twisted grin.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Demanded Vlad.
"Oh how rude of me. Let me introduce myself. I'm Dan Phantom and I am your son." Said Dan.
"My son? Are you some kind of clone of Danny I'm made?" Asked Vlad as he lowered his hands and studied the figure.
"Not exactly. You know that future version of you that showed up earlier, well I'm the future version of Danny Phantom!" Said Dan proudly.
"How can that be? You almost look nothing like the Danny Phantom I know." Said Vlad as he looked at Dan not sure what to make of him.
"Oh trust me I am only better and I have you or more specifically the future version of you to thank for that. But hey don't take my word for it, I'll show you." Said Dan as pointed the Reality Gauntlet at Vlad and there was a flash of light.
Several images flashed through Vlad's mind showing him the origin of Dan and all that he had gone through up until this moment. Then the images stopped Vlad starred at Dan in amazement.
"You...are indeed my son. The very thing of perfection I was trying to create!" Exclaimed Vlad in amazement.
"Yes I am and I wanted to thank the real you for my creation. Your my father and I want to pay you back by teaming up with you and destroying Danny and everyone he cares about." Said Dan.
"Yes revenge will be a good bonding experience my son." Grinned Vlad evilly.
"But first let me make you full ghost. There's no longer a need for your human half. Your ghost half represents the real you anyway." Said Dan as he pointed the Reality Gauntlet at Vlad.
"Very well...do as you please son." Said Vlad as he closed his eyes.
The Reality Gauntlet fired a burst of energy that enveloped Vlad in green energy. Vlad felt surges of energy course through his body then it stopped. Vlad took a deep breath and flexed his muscles, he felt incredible.
"I feel stronger then I ever before." Said Vlad.
"Of course you no longer have that weak human part to hold you back." Said Dan.
A ghost portal appeared and Eyeuran floated out.
"This is my servant Eyeuran." Said Dan.
"I see you just made a new recruit master very good. Now what should we do?" Said Eyeuran.
"Me and my father are going to drop by and give Danny a little visit." Said Dan as he opened up a ghost portal that lead to FentonWorks.
Dan and Vlad entered the portal and vanished.
Danny and his group were taking an innovatory of all their weapons, when a ghost portal suddenly opened up and out stepped Dan.
"Dan!" Shouted Danny as he went ghost and prepared to fight his evil counter part.
"Relax Danny I haven't come to fight. I've just come to introduce my father." Said Dan as he stepped to the side of the ghost portal and Vlad flew out.
"No!" Exclaimed Future Vlad.
"Yes hello everybody. It's so good to see you all again. My sons told me everything. It's good to know my future counterpart actual did something right by helping create this perfect being." Said Vlad as he grinned down at Future Vlad. "My son is quit nice. In the short time I've known him his made me one hundred precent ghost and promised me revenge on all of you!"
"You fool! You gave up your humanity! Your just as bad as him now!" Shouted Future Vlad as he pointed at Vlad then at Dan.
"Oh please like I care what a traitorous old relic like you thinks. I have the vision and drive to see things done and I will crush all those who stand in my son's way. Especially you my future counterpart!" Said Vlad as he flew forward grabbed Future Vlad and threw him across the lab into a metal wall.
Future Vlad crashed into the wall with a thud and fell into a heap.
"Vlad!" Danny and his allies cried with concern.
"Sorry, but there can only be one Vlad in this timeline and that's me!" Said Vlad with a twisted grin.
"Good one father. Now let us leave, but first let me reclaim a couple of my things first." Said Dan as he waved his hand at the ghost containment units.
A ghost portal appeared beneath the containers that held Nocturne, Undergrowth, Vortex, Hotep-Ra, Aragon, Executioner Ghost, and Archer Ghost. The containers fell through the portals and vanished. At the Guys in White base a ghost portal appeared in Freakshow and Lydia's cells. The two circus ghost didn't hesitate as they leaped into the portals and vanished.
"Oh come on! Take me to!" Complained Technus, but everybody just ignored him.
"Goodbye for now Danny. Don't worry I'll be back soon." Said Dan.
"Yes Ta-Ta for now. Will be back to destroy you all latter." Said Vlad.
The two evil ghost went back into their portal and vanished. Everybody looked back over to Future Vlad who was still on the floor Future Valerie ran over to him to check on him.
"His still breathing, but his hurt pretty bad." Said Future Valerie.
Maddie and Jack ran over to the unconscious Future Vlad and carefully moved him to a medical table.
"Man now we have a family of evil to deal with." Muttered Tucker.
"Don't worry will beat them both. I've beaten Vlad before I'll do it again. I'm going to take down Dan once and for all. I promise you he will not destroy this version of Earth like he did in his timeline." Said Danny with a look of utter determination that brought confidence to all his friends and family.
A war was brewing and the forces were slowly gathering.
