SailorStar9: Well, Chapter 35 is out, and if anyone is wondering what happened to me last week and yesterday, no, I'm not dead, just preparing for my exams and taking care of family stuff. So, please be a dear and read and review.

Chapter 36: Crossfire

The next day...

Rei's grandfather opened the door and entered the room. "Rei, your friends Usagi and Ami are here."

Usagi and Ami walked into the room, followed by Chibi-Usa, "Hi Rei..."

"Hey there, Ami and rabbits." Rei said.

"Don't call me rabbit!" Both Usagis shouted in unison.

"How do you do that?" Rei asked.

"Do what?" Both Usagis asked in unison.

"That."

"What?" The two girls asked.

"Forget it..." Rei muttered.

"Forget what?" The two girls asked.

"Go figures..." Rei muttered with a sigh.

Suddenly, there was an explosion outside. "What was that?" Usagi asked.

"It's not hard to guess..." Ami noted.

"They dare coming into a sacred place like this?" Rei said with a scowl "I'll kick them out of this planet."

"Chibi-Usa, stay in here." Usagi ordered the little girl, then turned to the others "Let's do it! Moon Prism Power Makeup!"

"Mars Power Make Up!"

"Mercury Star Power, Make Up!"

"I won't say this twice. Get out of my way." Cooan snapped.

"You can't come in here, miss." Yuuichirou said as he stood wielding a broom like if it was a sword. "This is a sacred place."

Mars and Moon dashed out of the house and gasped. "That fool's going to get himself hurt." Mars muttered.

"Get out of my way, human." Beruche said with a frown.

Yuuichirou didn't reply with words, but with actions. He charged at the two women and swung his broom at them as he hissed by. When he was done, the two women were massaging their arms. "Had enough?"

"That did hurt." Cooan noted.

"This human must be pretty strong." Beruche noted. "Dark Water!" The water beam sent Yuu crashing into a tree. "But he's not water-proof." She added with a chuckle.

"You're dead, witches." Mars growled as she walked towards them.

"What happened with the 'Stop it right there'?" Cooan asked.

"I kick butts first and talk later." Mars muttered. "Burning Soul!"

Beruche deflected the attack with her water beam. "That was pathetic."

"Then try this!" Mercury shouted and leapt-kicked the white-haired woman, who nearly fell down the stairs as she staggered back.

"Moonlight Flash!" Moon sent an attack at Cooan, but she dodged it.

Mars walked in between Mercury and Beruche, "Help Moon, I'll take care of this icegirl myself."

Mercury nodded, "Okay, but be careful."

"I will." Mars said, then turned to Beruche. "Play with fire and you shall burn." She shouted her next phase. "Mars Star Power, Make Up!"

Beruche had to cover her eyes as a wall of flames surrounded Mars. When the flames vanished, Mars was wearing a suit like Moon's one, only this was all red, except for the shoulder pads, the boots, and the yellow symbol of Mars on her chest. A red visor appeared over her eyes, and Mars smirked "I like this suit..."

Beruche shrugged, "Just try and hit me, firegirl."

"You asked for it. Burning Soul!"

Beruche leapt over the attack and kicked Mars' head, making her fall to the ground. She then laughed evilly "I'm too fast for you, kid."

"Leave her alone!" Yuuichirou shouted as he slammed his broom on Beruche's side, making her fall sideways.

"Stupid human..." Beruche muttered. "Dark Water!" She summoned her attack from her sitting position, and it sent Yuuichirou flying up. He landed hard on his back and grunted.

"Yuu!" Mars shouted "I won't... I won't let you hurt him." She muttered. She closed her eyes for a moment, then she opened them again and glared at Beruche "I'll burn you to a crisp. Mars..." She started running towards Beruche, and her suit glowed white for a moment. "Flaming Kick!" As she leapt at Beruche, fire appeared on her feet. The combined kick and fire blast sent Beruche rolling back on the ground several meters.

Beruche slammed hard on a tree and moaned "That kid hits hard..."

"I'm no kid, witch." Mars snapped.

Moon came running upstairs, chasing after Cooan, "Selene Laser!"

Cooan barely missed the attack and pouted "They're too strong!"

Beruche stood up massaging her head and nodded "Yeah... We can catch that rabbit later, let's get out of here!"

Mars frowned as both women vanished, then went to check on Yuuichirou, who was standing up. "Are you okay?"

Yuuichirou nodded, "Thanks, Rei."

Mars' jaw dropped "Wh...What?"

"I thought the magic would keep our identities safe." Moon noted.

Yuuichirou looked at Mars, "Well, I can't be fooled. I know those eyes and that voice very well, Rei-san."

Mars gasped, "Just how can he see through the spell?" She asked turning to Mercury.

Mercury shrugged "You know what they say, love's stronger than any magic."

Mars blushed, "It's not that..." She turned to Yuuichirou "Or is it?"

Yuuichirou sighed, "I think your friend is quite smart, Rei-san."

"Please..." Mars blushed and lowered her head "Just call me Rei, ok?"

Yuuichirou nodded, "Okay, Rei. You can call me Yuu, then. All my friends do."

"Maybe we should leave them alone..." Moon whispered to Mercury.

The three Senshi turned back to normal, and looked at Yuuichirou "What'll we do about him?"

Yuuichirou shrugged, "Don't worry, I can keep a secret."

Luna, Artemis and Shade were watching the scene from atop a tree "So now Yuuichirou knows their secret..." Artemis noted.

"Is it okay to trust him?" Shade asked.

"If Rei thinks it's okay, we'll have to trust him." Luna noted.

"Hi kitties!" Chibi-Usa shouted popping out from behind the tree.

"Meeoow!" The three cats fell down from the tree in surprise.

Usagi walked towards Chibi-Usa, "Hey, I thought I told you to stay in the temple!"

Chibi-Usa grinned "And lose all the fun? No way!"

"That girl's too smart for her age." Ami noted.

"I know..." Rei grinned "Now we have the smart rabbit and the dumb rabbit."

"Why you..." Usagi glared at Rei.

"Uhh... I was just kidding, rabbit..." Rei said and sweatdropped.
