Chapter 37: Adding to Problem
On another planet in the Outer Rim called Bakura, Jedi Knight Rachelle Hunter, Galactic Senator Amelia Zane, Republic Security Force Inspector Lillian Hunter, and Amelia's bodyguard and daughter Kim Zane steps off Amelia's ship and was greeted by the Bakuran Prime Minister Joseph Lightwell.
"Isn't there one in your company that is missing?" ask Joseph as he notices a certain highly respect Jedi Master and General missing from the ranks of people that steps off Amelia's red and golden Personal Luxury Yacht 3000. To see Rachelle Hunter without Mark Zane near her was something that the Prime Minister of Bakura was not expecting. It always seem like those two are together.
"Oh, my son has some Jedi mission on Kamino to do." say Amelia as she looks at Joseph. "I thought the Senate and the Order has given both Master Hunter and him off." say Joseph. "Well, we are off, is just something came up that people on Kamino wants Mark, through he promises to come here soon after it is done." say Rachelle as she looks up to the sky.
"Is there anything you need, Minister?" ask Amelia looking at her friend. "Not really, just want to come and greet your arrival to the planet. Had some free time, thought I will drop by and greet you. Hopefully your stay on Bakura is enjoyable." say Joseph with a smile on his face.
"When has my time at Bakura been anything less than enjoyable?" ask Rachelle looking around. She surely loves being on Bakura much more than she does her own homeworld of Corellia. It is pretty bad that she consider the place she was born off worst than any other planet. Then again, could she really consider Corellia her homeworld when she only spent a year on that planet?
He has been very busy helping prepare for the wedding on the planet, though his wife was doing the majority of it. It came as a surprise when he got a hologram from Mark asking him to be the Minister of the wedding. Since then, his wife has sat down with Amelia over the Holocomm. Now that Amelia is now on the planet, maybe she can begin taking over the majority of the stuff which will give him and his wife some time alone.
"See you at the wedding than. Can I please have my wife back?" ask Joseph looking at Amelia. "Well, she was only buying things that we need, so I guess so." say Amelia with a teasing smile. "Good, no more stealing my wife, you hear!" say Joseph pretending to be angry at Amelia. Since Amelia is one of the types of people who live on the planet but travels off of it often, she could let her Speeder at the Spaceport and when she arrives someone will get it for her.
While this was happening, Kim was talking to Joseph for a bit while keeping a close eye on her mother as she was signaling for her Speeder. Kim is well known for taking her job as her mother's bodyguard very seriously. She has learned how to do many things at once. As soon as the Speeder was in front of Amelia, Kim reaches into her robe pocket and pulls out a little droid that is basically a floating orb. She let go and the droid.
"Come on Kim, we are on Bakura, we are safe." say Amelia. "Don't you remember what happened a couple of years ago? You thought the same thing when we on this planet and you were nearly was assassinated 3 times during a ball. The last attempt have nearly blown you out of the window and killed 50 other people. If it wasn't for me you would have died bunched of times that night." say Kim softly but with a hurt voice. One does not need the Force to know that the thought of Kim failing at her job hurts her so much.
Kim soon has tears in her eyes and Amelia hugs her tightly in a hug. It just goes to prove that even through Maxus tried to manipulate Kim into hating her mother, Kim still cares a lot about her mother. That is why she is more than a bodyguard. Some bodyguards only protect because they are getting paid to do so. Kim on the other hand could careless about the money; she is protecting her mother from harm.
"I am sorry, Kim. I know how much protecting me means to you. Keep up the good work." say Amelia as she rubs her daughter's back.
On Kamino, another one of Amelia's children was trying to figure out a problem that send him there in he first place. That child name is Jedi Master Mark Zane. Mark was standing beside Taun We as some Kaminoans were hooking the traitorous Clone up to a machine. There were wires attached to the head of the Clone. The wire stick to what appears to be suction cups on the Clone's head.
"As soon as you have him hook up, I want to be the one physically using the machine." say Mark to the Kaminoan. "Why?" demand the Kaminoan. "I am here to find out a problem." say Mark. "Let him do it." say Taun We as she looks at the Kaminoan. "I thought we do not let anyone else touch our equipment?" say the Kaminoan. "I say let him, he is here to investigate a problem that I want to be solved as well. Master Zane, if you need any help, I could offer assistant with the computer." say Taun We.
Through the Force, Mark can sense that Taun We will do anything within her power to make sure they find the truth. Mark nods as he walks over the machine. He was glad that he accepted the offer, because he cannot read the keys or the wordings that was in a language that Kaminoans can read. Yes, he can use the Force to understand someone talking to him in another language, but reading now that something different.
Mara is standing next to her father. Logan keep an eye out on anyone that might be around that is acting unusual. Mara was watching her mentor. "Mara, I am going to look around, you stay here and look for anyone who is acting strange." whisper Logan looking down at his daughter. "What about the one that refused to let Master use the computer?" ask Mara lightly. "Just because someone does something negatively does not make them a bad person. That Kaminoan could just be a mean person, but not a traitor or evil." whisper Logan.
Mara would have been worry about her father going off on his own, but she knows he can take care of himself perfectly fine. He might be a Jedi but he could be very rough if he wants to and even his size could intimidate most people. Through his size might not be good enough since Kaminoans are average around 7 feet tall.
Taun We and Mark were working at the computer to find out any information. When they found something they projected onto a Holographic projector that was nearby. They then translate the wording into Basic Language. Through Mark admits it was mostly to Taun We help they manage to get the information up quickly.
"Okay here is the list of programs that does get program into Clones by Flash-learning. I am going to start the scan of this Clone and a list of programs should be appearing next to it." say Taun We as she taps some keys on the computer. The suction cup like device on the Clone glows, Mark senses that the Clone is in pain, but the Clone keeps a plan face on.
Mark stand back with his arm crossed behind him. Logan approaches him. "Mark, I am going to look around for what could be considered part of the problem. I have just talk to Mara, she will stay to keep an eye out on things." whisper Logan. Mark nods to him as he return his attention to the hologram. "Just do not let it get you into any trouble." say Mark lightly. Mark knows Logan is a Jedi but he could also be rough like he was not a Jedi. The last thing they want are even more enemies to the Jedi. Yes, there will always be those who hate the Jedi, but that faction of people have been turned small ever since the Jedi Order change it codes about family. People cannot claim that the Jedi are baby stealers anymore, because the Jedi Order allows family to visit and offer to train Force Sensitive so they will not be a danger to themselves and others.
That is one of the problems that causes the Jedi Order to fall, because many believed that the Jedi are bad or they just simply like them. Through he have a feeling the Sith should be blame for that, he knows since 1000 BBY that the Sith have been working in secret to bring down the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic. It was thanks to his great connection with the Force that while he meditates he found out this information. It was also due to the Force that when he first met Palpatine when he was only 6 years old, Mark did not trust him at all. He might have put on a grandfatherly face, but Mark, even untrained in the Force, could sense behind that peaceful loving face was a monster.
Mark remembered when he first met Palpatine, he swears till this day that he was on the Sith Lord's list to either become an apprentice or be killed. Mark could see if he did join the Dark Side who knows how many holes would have appeared in the Dimensional wall and whatever universe he would be in would have been in some serious trouble. Even today, some of the greatest Jedi, such as Yoda, could duel him to a standstill.
Mark then looks back up to the hologram when the list was completed. He sensed something was not right but everything looks as it should. Then his memory shot back to the time when he found information about Order 66 and how it was hidden. That right there has given the famed Jedi Master something to think about.
"Minister We, couldn't we look into the details of each programming, because if a unit such as the Arc Troopers receive special training it would be noted. If there is a minor change in the programming, then it will most likely be listed under the detailed version." say Mark. "I cannot believe we haven't thought of that." say Taun We as she looks at the Jedi Master, mentally cursing herself for not thinking of something like that.
"That is going to take some time to bring up the information on that and every program and it will take some time to look through those records." say Taun We as she looks over at Mark. Mark sighs as he pinches his nose. He really wants to get to Bakura, but he must not rush in his mission to find the truth.
"We got time." say Mark as he looks at the Hologram and to Mara who was standing looking around for anyone who is acting unusual. Lately, Mark has gotten this feeling that they might have to deal with a traitor. He wonders if Mara sensed it. He walks over to her and kneels down.
"Mara, I got a question do you have a feeling that we might be dealing with what your father is trying to look for?" ask Mark. Mara who was standing quietly behind her mentor nods. She too have sensed something was up and by the reaction that her father had earlier, he have sensed it too. Mark claps her on her shoulder. "Good job at pay attention to the Force." say Mark as he stands up and turns around back to the Hologram. He barely caught Mara beaming with happiness with his words.
He is for sure Logan felt the same thing, if three Force Sensitives sense the same thing then something is up. Mark looks at Taun We for a little bit. He is debating rather to he should say something right now or wait. He does not want to offend her or Kaminoans in anyway due to the fact that they always consider themselves perfect. If he suggest that he is for sure that there is a traitor and than the evidence from this scan proves different could be like he is insulting them. It is one thing to throw up a possible idea of someone being traitor like he did over lunch earlier, but another thing to accuse. He figures the best bet is to wait for the evidence. He is just hoping that Logan could keep his mouth shut about it. So far he is doing good.
Mark looks out of the corner of his eyes to his Padawan who was standing behind him looking around. It seem like she know it not a good idea to state that she thinks that their might be a traitor among the Cloners. He is also would bet his Lightsaber on the fact that if they think it is a traitor they would most likely blame the trainers for somehow messing with the program. Mark have sense the two retired Bakuran Generals and there loyalty could be consider a galaxy wide, but not blind loyalty.
"We could go and do something while this loads." say Taun We. "You could, but I am not leaving this area at all without it being under Jedi supervision. Just to reduce any risks." say Mark. "This area is under security that only I can enter and plus there are cameras everywhere in this room." say Taun We as she looks at Mark and Mara. "Minister We, I have experience a lot of things within the 45 year life, I have seen people got in to a high security room and hack the databanks. Plus a follow Jedi that I know, she could hack about any databanks." say Mark as he looks at her.
For anyone who knows Mark and Rachelle well, it does not take one to use the Force to know who Mark is referring to. Mara has heard stories along with Luke and Leia about the adventures that Mark and Rachelle had. It seem when something needs to be hacked, Rachelle always seem to be able to do it. Anything deal with technology that is not a ship or a Speeder, Mark is not good at but Rachelle is amazing at. However, when you compare both of them, Mara considers them to be both very great mechanics.
Logan came walking into the room peaceful looking, but through the Force Mark can sense he is not peaceful. "Mark, I need to speak with you." say Logan. Taun We knows how Mark stands on his ways. If Mark wants the room watch by Jedi, it is going to be watch by Jedi, so she figures it is best to think ahead and prevent any problems, no matter how much she does not like the idea of leaving the room. "I will excuse myself then." say Taun We as she walks out of the room.
Just in case someone listening, Mark uses the Force to make any listening device have bunch of static. "Daddy what's wrong?" ask Mara sensing something is not right. "I was scouting around but I sense some Dark Jedi on the planet. When I did I went back to the ship and send a probe droid we have. It came back with these images." say Logan as he shows Mark a Datapad with the images of Dark Jedi standing nearby a small shuttle. Mark zooms in on the shuttle.
"The Empire. Those are Darth Vader's Dark Jedi. Through I highly doubt this is any invasion. I bet this is to get whoever the traitor is to be dead or get them out of here. Through if our theory is right about the traitor having an army, it might be an attempt to take over this factory." say Mark.
"What is so important about this factory?" ask Mara. Mark looks at it. "I am going to throw some ideas and you find out. Who is the leader of Kamino and where does that leader lives?" say Mark. Mara eyes widen. "Minister We." say Mara. "Correct, if this is an invasion, then if they killed Taun We, they could make the Republic look bad and either they will place another Minister of their chose or the people will but they will slide with the Empire." say Mark.
"Wait, Master I thought you said that Vader hates anything to deal with Clones." say Mara. Mark nods to this. "Yes, he hates Clones, but that might not be the reason for this invasion. It might be to take a valuable asset away from the Galactic Republic, though I highly doubt this is invasion to take over or an attack base upon the lack of soldiers." say Mark.
Logan had to fight the urge to laugh at this statement. Mark really thinks it takes a lot to take over. According to what he was reading about Mark when he was searching for his wife, Maria, he has picked up on a story that was about before Mark came to this universe. It was about Order 66 and Mark was on the planet of Raxus Prime and he has taken down a large part of the 3rd Legion that turned on him. He also remember find a story about some Jedi who betray the Jedi Order that was named Darth Vader as a Sith, the Jedi original name was never known, and he have killed a bunch of Jedi within the Jedi Temple. He knows Mark have experience and knowledge, all it takes it just one or more people to take over.
"Mark, I think you know it is possible for a small group to take over. I can think of two points that I have read about you. I have read a story on the Holonet about you taking down the majority of 3rd Legion back in your other dimension and also about this Jedi who became Darth Vader killing bunch of Jedi within the Jedi Temple." say Logan.
Mark eyes darted to him. Mara groans as she shakes her head. She knows how much her mentor hates to think about that time of his past. "Logan don't you think I know that. Let me knock your thoughts down. First of all, it was me against bunch of Clones. I would have died if it wasn't for Captain Kia saving me. Also throw in the fact that I was trained by Rahm Kota, while I trust the Clones, I did not trust them blindly and throw the fact in that I am strong within the Force, the Clones stands no chance. Now with Vader of my dimension, he killed all those people because just how the Clones manage to kill the Jedi, bunch of the Jedi trust who Darth Vader was before he fall and did not know he fall. Plus Darth Vader was also strong in the Force. Never mention that point of time to me again." say Mark. The last part of the statement was said with some seriousness.
Logan did not need the Force to know that Mark did not like that point of his own history. He also can guess it was the drive Mark to take down Darth Sidious when he got here. How Mark manages to do it all secretly like he did was way beyond his understanding. He would have killed Darth Sidious the first chance he have gotten.
No somehow, Mark manages to make the Jedi Order look good, change Jedi Order's Codes, make Supreme Chancellor Palpatine look bad and manage to take him out. Logan looks at Mark once again, he always know Mark is a very smart and intelligent but it seem like the one he is looking at will surely beat the one that he have know before falling to the Dark Side. No wonder why a lot of people trust him and look up to him.
That thought have Logan looking down to his daughter who was standing. He did not need the Force to know that Mara respects Mark with the same level as most would respect Yoda with. If Logan knows his daughter as much as he does right now, he swears that she respects Mark way much more that Yoda, while at the same time she is highly respectful to Yoda like just as respectful as everyone else within the Jedi Order, so that is saying something for the respect she holds for Mark.
"When are we going to tell Taun We?" ask Logan. "As as soon as possible. We could tell her about the Dark Jedi, but then she would wonder why they are here and if we say anything accusing like a traitor, she will not take it easy without evidence. It is one thing to throw the idea of a traitor but to actually accuse that there is a traitor is another thing. We need to wait for the scans of that Clone to come in." say Mark as he looks at Logan.
"Look like we might have a fight on our hands." say Logan with a smile. Mark just looks down and shakes his head. He guesses some things will never change with Logan, he could sense that Logan is looking for a fight, which is something not really a thing Jedi does. He normally comments on a statement like that, but in this instant it would be a waste of breath.
Instead of wasting his breath on his Padawan's father, he decides it is time to let the Prime Minister back into the room. He walks toward the door and opens it to find her standing outside of it peacefully. "Okay, Minister we are done talking you can come back in." say Mark politely. The Prime Minister walks back into the room and looks at the Hologram. Mark eyed Logan and shakes his head as Logan was about to said something about it. Mark also gives him a hard slap in the back of the head.
"What was that for!" demand Logan as he rubs his head. "For doing what you were thinking of doing." say Mark lowly. This had Mara up in giggles as she looks at her mentor and father. Taun we look at the three humans with a questioning look on her face.

First I want to state that I have indeed notice a spelling mistake on my part which Microsoft Word did not catch for the reason that it was a real word but not the right word. I have been using the world through wrongly a little bit. You know when I say: Through, Mark knows this. Instead of Through it is suppose to be though. I didn't realize that mistake when I decide to check the dictionary. Sorry about that. Since no one corrected me on it, I think you as readers understand what I was talking about. I used that word a lot in my typing so, most likely I will have to find a time to set aside to correct them or either that leave it as it is. For the future, it would be nice if you catch those little mistakes to let me know about them, personally I did not know about them until now.
Now onto the chapter here. Basically, this chapter is about Mark and Logan finding out that the problem they have with the Clone could be bigger. Also in this chapter we also have getting ready for the wedding. So if you haven't notice it yet, there is going to be a wedding at the end of this story, so if you want your ideas known to me so I can used them, please do send me them or how they say at wedding speak up or forever hold their peace.
Hopefully I manage to get more than one chapter done a week, but I am still getting used to the fact of working 5 days a week. So look like we just have to put up with it.
