A young man with short brown hair walked around the ports by Fuschia City. He hummed a song to himself, then stared at his Pikachu smiling. He looked at the sun rising and said, "Isn't it a beautiful day, pal?" The Pikachu smiled, "Pikachu!" He then noticed a boat entering the port and saw Ash and the others depart from the boat. Recognizing Ash, the man ran to him and called out, "Hey Ash!" Ash looked at the man's face and asked, "Ritchie?"
#37: TOO MANY JANINES
Ritchie and Ash did a high-five. "Long time no see, Ash. I never thought we'd run into each other like this again!" said Ritchie. "Same goes here," said Ash. Ritchie saw the large group of people traveling with Ash and asked, "Are you having some kind of party or something?" Ash answered, "Actually, we're the Guardians of P..." Jupei slapped him as he quickly corrected himself, "Pizza." The Guardians facefaulted. Ritchie stood there confused and asked, "Guardians of Pizza?" Brock nodded, "Yeah, so give us some pizza." Ash sweatdropped, "Shut up Brock."
Ash continued, "I just rallied a group of people together to fight for the same cause... which is pizza." Ritchie sweatdropped and said, "Okay, Ash. I believe you, I guess..." Ritchie looked at the Guardians. Misty, in particular, caught his eye. He held her hand and asked, "Is that you, Misty? I'm glad you grew in all the right places!" Misty stared at Ritchie's eyes which were fixated on her chest. She slapped Ritchie.
Ash said, "Hey, we didn't even properly intoduce ourselves. You already know Brock and Misty. This is Dash, then Tracey..." He continued introducing the other Guardians. Ritchie smiled, "It's nice to meet you all." He held up his Pikachu and said, "This is my Pikachu, Sparky. Say hello, Sparky." Pikachu waved, "Pika!" The two Pikachus then hold hands and smiled. The Guardians and Ritchie stared awkwardly at each other. After a few minutes, Ash finally said, "Well, Ritchie. It's been fun, but I think we'd better get to Fuschia City." Ritchie said, "Okay, I hope to see you again, Ash." The Guardians walked towards the giant Fuschia City.
Jupei thought, "He's a nice guy." Ash said, "Did you know he faced me in the Pokemon Leage once. Unfortunately, I lost, but the past is past. It was nice to see him again, but it's time to go to Fuschia City!"
The Guardians entered the gigantic Fuschia City. Green said, "I guess I'll bring you guys there... Dragon Power! Giant Enlarge!" She grabbed the other Guardians and ran to the Fuschia City Gym. It looked like an old ninja house. Green asked, "Are you sure this is a gym?" As she spoke, she bumped into an invisible wall and dropped the tiny Guardians. As Brock landed, he yelled, "Watch where you're going, Green!" Green rubbed her forehead and proceeded to pick up the Guardians until some shuriken were thrown at her. They barely missed Green and instead hit the invisible wall. In the shock, Green accidentally dropped the Guardians again, but in different places. Each Guardians were separated and fell into different trap doors.
Green gasped when she saw the Guardians disapppear and yelled, "Look what you made me do! Who threw those throwing stars?!" A woman with short purple hair then appeared and said, "I am Janine, the ninja gym leader of Fuschia City!" She then thought to herself, "Oh wait, if I'm a ninja, then I should be hiding and not telling everyone who I am." Green yelled, "Whoever you are, why are you throwing those stupid stars at me?!" Janine answered, "I throw my shuriken at any intruders! Now you must fight me in a ninja duel or else... uhh... just fight me!" Green laughed, "Heh, if you want to fight me, then I have no problems with that! Mega Twister Spin!"
Tracey, Sakura, and Chibi fell into the same trap door and landed in a slanted room. Tracey asked, "What the? Does anybody else feel a little weird?" All of a sudden, a girl fell from the ceiling and yelled, "Ouch! That hurts!" Tracey looked up at the giant girl and asked, "Who are you?" The girl answered, "I am the one, the only... Janine! And now we must battle like true Shinobi!" Sakura screamed from the ground, "We're down here, you know!" Janine looked down at the Guardians and said, "A tiny bunch we have here! No matter, for we must still fight!" Janine aimed a giant sword down at them as Tracey yelled, "Let's slide!"
Using the slant of the room, the three were able to slide downwards. They were relieved until they realized that the slanted floor led to a dead end. Sakura gasped, "She has us cornered." While they fell, Chibi noticed a hole in the ceiling and gasped, "This is a long shot, but... Hold on to me, guys! Grass Power! Vine Grapple!" Chibi extended her vines to the ceiling and latched on, allowing them to safely elevate. Tracey cheered, "Great thinking, Chibi! Janine'll never find us in here!" Suddenly, Janine's giant face crept up behind them. She held onto the top of the ceiling and laughed, "You can't escape a true ninja!"
Meanwhile, Todd, Katana, and Jupei had fallen in another trap door and landed in a different room. The room resembled an old Japanese dojo. Jupei asked, "What happened?" Todd sweatdropped, "I recall Green dropping us for some reason." Suddenly, a girl crawling on the ground spotted them and gasped, "Tiny people! Let's fight!" Todd gasped, "Fight? Who are you? Have you noticed that we're considerably smaller than you?" The girl smiled and said, "I'm Janine, and you'll fight me whether you like it or not!" Janine took out a giant katana and said, "Take out your weapon!" Katana took out her tiny katana and yelled, "Hey! Not fair!"
The large Janine chased them with her katana. Katana yelled, "We can't keep running forever! Our small size gives us a large disadvantage in speed!" Janine chased the three into a corner. Todd sweatdropped, "We're stuck... Hmmm... stung! I know!" He faced the wall and yelled, "Bug Wand Power! Tiny Sting!" He stung a hole into the wall. The hole was just big enough for the Guardians to squeeze through. Janine tried to stick her katna into the hole, but it only became stuck.
The last group, consisting of Ash, Dash, Brock, and Misty fell into yet another room. This room was severely covered in a thick fog. As they fell, they bumped into Ritchie. Ritchie gasped, "Ash?! You're here too?" Ash asked, "Ritchie? How did you get in here?" Ritchie replied, "I fell through a plot hole. Or was it a trap door? Anyway, when I came to Fuschia City, everything was large. I have no idea what's going on." Ash said, "I guess we'll explain everything..."
Suddenly, from the fog, a girl appeared claiming that she was Janine. She laughed, "I am the gym leader, Janine!" Ash then asked, "Wait! If you're the gym leader, then where's Koga?" Janine laughed, "I am his daughter. Father actually went to the elite four to pursue his dream of being a Pokemon master. Perhaps you may see him again sometime." Brock's heart lept. He ran up to her and said, "Did anyone ever tell you how sexy you look in that battle attire?" Janine looked down and asked, "Who are you and why are you so tiny?"
Ash replied, "I don't know if you know this, but the whole Fuschia City has been enlarged, and we'll need to use some power-enhancing chair to reshrink the city. Janine said, "No problem, I can take you there right away!" Ash cheered, "That would be great, Janine!" Ritchie sweatdropped, "I have no idea what's going on."
Out of nowhere, a giant twister then raged into the room with the real Janine asked, "What's going on in here?" Green saw Janine and said, "Oh, don't mind me... Wait a minute..." She stared at the real Janine, then stared at the Janine she was fighting. She then asked, "If I'm fighting Janine here, then who are you?" The real Janine asked, "What other Janine?" She saw the fake Janine fighting Green. Suddenly, two more Janines and the rest of the Guardians fell into the real Janine's room. Janine stared at the Janines and yelled, "What in the world is going on in here?! Why are you all dressed up like me?!"
The fake Janines bowed down and said, "We're sorry Master, but we just wanted to be great ninjas like you... and that's why we'll beat you in battle!" The fake Janines then crowded the real Janine and threw shuriken at her. Janine dodged the shuriken and threw some shuriken of her own. The shuriken missed them and instead barely missed the Guardians. Janine then threw a Pokeball and yelled, "Go, Ninjask!" A Ninjask appeared and began making a giant web. It then disappeared into the fog. Dash cried, "This isn't a good place to be in right now! Let's run!"
The room began to slant as everyone except Ritchie fell and landed in a giant web. Ash asked, "Ritchie? How did you manage to stay still?" Ritchie replied, "I don't know." Jupei then noticed that a sludge substance was keeping Ritchie bolted to the ground. A magenta aura surrounded him as Jupei yelled, "Listen, Ritchie! You can use that sticky power of yours to good use! Yell 'Poison Power'!" Ritchie nodded and yelled, "Poison Power!" Ritchie transformed into magenta clothing with the symbol of crossbones. Ritchie sweatdropped, "I don't get it." Jupei screamed, "Just yell whatever comes to mind!"
Ritchie became confused until some shuriken were thrown at the wall behind him. He then jumped from the sludge on the ground and jumped onto the shuriken on the wall, using them as stepping stones. As Ninjask and the Janines attacked each other, Ritchie yelled, "Sticky Sludge!" Suddenly, he released a massive amount of sludge onto the girls. The sludge caused them to become stuck. The real Janine managed to dodge the sludge at the last minute. Meanwhile, the other Janines struggled to escape.
Ninjask, angry at Ritchie for shooting the sludge, flew towards Ritchie and tried to perform a False Swipe. Tracey then yelled, "Hurry! Sludge us!" Ritchie saw the other Guardians and yelled, "Super Sludge!" at them. The poison ate the web that had trapped the Guardians. Meanwhile, the Ninjask flew away into the fog. Rushing back, it attempted to surprise attack Ritchie. Before Ninjask could attack, Ritchie yelled, "Sticky Sludge!" Ninjask's wings fell victim to the sludge and caused it to fall to the ground.
Tracey cheered, "Excellent, Ritchie! Flying Power! Flying Ball!" Todd yelled, "Great Bug Ball!" "Combine!" The combined ball caught Ninjask as Janine asked, "What did you just do?" Ash then gasped, "Oh yeah... it was yours..." The Guardians explained their mission to Janine, who understood. At the same time, Ritchie was able to catch on. He asked, "So you're all Guardians of Pokemon, just like I am now?" Ash nodded, "Yes, and I'd be glad if you could come with us!"
Todd proceeded to shrink Fuschia City using Janine's chair, and Green did the same to enlarge the Guardians. The fake Janines who were still stuck to the ground, sighed, "We're sorry, master Janine, for imitating you!" They took off their Janine disguises. One of them was actually a man in disguise. Janine replied, "As a ninja, I respect your ability to fool and trick around. However, since you used your illusion skills to hurt these precious people, I'll have to punish you by making you clean this whole gym bottom to top, including the weird slant rooms!" "Yes, master!" Janine continued, "And you all better thank Ritchie, who was able to stop you all! He is welcome to join us as a ninja if he ever wants!" Ritchie sweatdropped, "No, that's alright!"
Later that day, they waved goodbye to Janine and her pupils. Janine said, "Don't worry. I'll train these students of mine to become excellent ninja. Then we can fight again, Ritchie!" Ritchie yelled, "Stop saying that!" Ash then laughed, "How does it feel to be one of us, Ritchie?" Ritchie sweatdropped, "I like it and all, but is there any particular reason that out of all the Guardians, I ended up being the Poison Guardian?"

Author's Notes: Now that Ritchie is in the picture, all of you are probably thinking "finally". Ritchie was one of the most popular guesses at being a Guardian of Pokemon, so it wasn't that much of a surprise that I'd actually have him planned to join in sometime. However, Ritchie does bring up a point. Why is he the Poison Guardian. Perhaps time will tell...
