Hello all! Welcome to chapter 37 of 'LoD'. I haven't forgotten about updating this chapter. I'm sorry it took a little bit longer because I was having a little writers block on this chapter and I didn't like how I ended it so I had to write a couple more pages till I was satisfied with it. I hope you all enjoy it as it is a Violet/Alphie confrontation. Hehe. Anyways I'll let you read and enjoy!

Chapter 37

Violet huffs slightly as she is slowly making her way down the hallway. Today is a bad day for her, her healing injuries are really kicking her ass. Sure, she shouldn't have secretly trained to keep herself in fighting shape but she wants to be ready when she kicks Mombi's ass and every little minion she has especially the bitch who took Elsa away from her. She turns her head to the side until her neck gives a loud crack.

"Ahhh…much better." She whispers to herself. She is thinking about giving herself a nice soak in the bathtub for her aching body. She comes to a fork in the hallway and immediately takes a right. She bounces back when she runs into a solid body.

"Oh sorry I…"

Alphie's voice trails off when she sees who she bumped into. She swallows hard as she watches Violet rubs down the arm that hit her body. She has been hoping to avoid anybody who was involved in the incident at the Winter Festival, for some time, at least until she gained the trust of Elphaba. It would help when she has somebody like her who would have her back when confronted by resistance.

"It's ok." The soldier replies as she looks up. She straightens her back when she gets a good look at who she bumped into. She remembers the description given to her by Elphaba in her mind. The one thing that she always seems to remember is the color of the eyes; yellow/green hazel and crystal blue. Those eyes are staring right back at hear with a hint of apprehension in them. Violet clenches her hands until her knuckles are white. Alphie really didn't have a chance to defuse the situation or even get a chance to explain when there is a burst of pain on the right side of her face. The older woman is still seeing stars when she receives an uppercut right under her chin. Elsa's girlfriend has got speed and a good right hook on her.

"This is all your fault!" Violet shouts as she makes up the short distance between them and throws another punch square in the middle of her smug face. She has been waiting to do this for quite some time. Alphie puts a hand to her nose to see her own blood staining her flesh. It has been a really long time since somebody has drawn her blood.

"Let me explain." The older woman pleads but Violet is too far into her rage to care about any kind of explanation. She quickly ducks when another punch is thrown at her.

"You took Elsa away from me!" the soldier yells next as she throws another punch but Alphie manages to block it as she is now expecting the attack.

"Ugh…" She groans in pain when the other side of her face catches another hook punch. The older woman hits the wall with a sickening crack. She slides down with a throbbing head and an ever increasing free flowing bloody nose.

"Violet! Stop!" The commanding voice of Elphaba rings out but it doesn't stop a swift kick straight to the ribs. Alphie is curled up in a ball with her chest heaving but that hurts as a fire goes down the side where Violet just kicked. The soldier must be wearing steel tipped boots. Violet has stopped her assault only because Elphaba has grabbed a hold of the wrist of the hand that was about to be thrown towards the downed woman. Sensing that her ass wasn't going to be kicked any time soon does Alphie slowly get herself into a sitting positon.

"It's been a long time since I got my ass kicked like that." She mutters as she pinches her blood nose to try and stop it from dripping blood everywhere. Violet stands here, full of confusion, when she watches Elphaba walk up to the scene and help up the person who caused every bad thing to happen in the past year. Alphie waves off anymore fussing from the green woman. She knows the soldier needs a serious explanation after seeing enemies acting like friends, sort of.

"What the fuck is going on?!" Violet shouts. She can't comprehend what she saw and the confusion is turning to anger. Elphaba turns her sight on the shaking woman. She gives an internal sigh. This isn't how this talk is supposed to happen. She was hoping it would happen when she finally figured out if what Alphie is doing is for real and not all an act.

"She is here because she switched sides. She's helping us out to take Mombi down and getting Elsa back by being a double agent." Elphaba tries to explain to the furious woman. Violet gives a scoff while rolling her eyes. She points to the wounded woman with hatred in her eyes.

"How can you trust her? With all the hurt she has done to all of us?" Violet counters with a very valid point. Elphaba looks her in the eyes with an unwavering determination and stands firmly in front of Alphie.

"I do trust her."

The solider opens her mouth before closing it. She is so pissed that she can't formulate a sentence without multiple curse words. She just gives a loud huff then turns on her heels to walk away from the entire situation. When the coast is clear does Alphie walk up to the green woman with her nose still pinched.

"You didn't have to do that." She says stuffily. Elphaba looks to her with an impassive stare.

"We are going to need everybody on board."

She then fully turns to the brunette, who shrinks at the dark look bearing down at her. "If I find out that this is all an act. Violet's beating will look like child's play."

Alphie just nods her head at the threat. She has heard stories about what the green woman is capable of and it is not something she want happen to her. In an instant, the look disappears then is replaced with a slight smile.

"Ok then. Let's get you cleaned up."

Alphie gives a painful hiss through the teeth when Glinda applies a covered bag filled with ice to her sore side. The bloodied look was how she looked when she was formally introduced to her mother. The good witch spent a good hour cleaning her up with a motherly touch, something really foreign to her but she silently enjoyed it.

"You know you could have defended yourself." Glinda points out as she leans back when Alphie takes over holding the ice bag. The younger woman bites her bottom lip before looking down. Yes, she could have easily had defeated Violet if she wanted to with her magic alone. Glinda's eyes soften the longer there is silence between them.

"Ah, I see." She murmurs softly while she crosses her legs. Alphie purses her lips, making the blonde note that she does it exactly like Nessa, before looking up with a lopsided smirk. The similarities of the Thropps' is strong in her daughter. It's very eerie. Alphie gives a pained grunt as she leans back in her chair. Glinda watches her with much concern.

"We have a healer here who can take care of you." She says. She can't stand to see her in so much pain. The dark haired woman gives a soft sigh. She will have to take her up on that offer because there is no way she can explain her injuries without heavy suspicion falling on her. She nods her head in agreement to it.

"It would be best." Alphie answers. Glinda starts to stand up to go get Erwin but falters when there is a tug on her wrist. She cranes around to see her daughter have a hold on her wrist and shimmering eyes. Glinda can't help but picture Elsa doing the exact same thing when she didn't want her to leave just yet. Her heart begins to ache greatly. She is missing Elsa so much. Both of her daughters should be home.

"Can you stay a little bit longer?" Alphie ask timidly. She can handle the pain for a little bit longer just so she can spend more time around her mother. It's because the sooner she is healed the sooner she would have to leave. The good witch smiles then nod her head.

"Of course."

She sits down again as she watches a genuine smile breaks out on her daughter's face. She would like to have some more time with Alphie before the two are forced back into reality. Alphie closes her eyes when her mother reaches over and affectionately tucks some of her chocolate locks behind her ears, the fingers brushing against her cheek with the reach forward.

"You're exactly how I pictured you." Glinda whispers when she sits back. The dark haired woman gives a low chuckle while she opens her eyes. Glinda can't believe that Alphie inherited both her's and Nessa's eyes. Maybe it's the world's way to show that she is a descendant of Glinda the Good.

"You pictured me like this all these years?" Alphie questions with a cock of the head. The good witch moves her eyes analytically over her daughter's face and body, making Alphie squirm in her seat at the hard stare.

"Always."

Alphie looks down with her right hand clutching her pants extremely tight. She was robbed years of happiness and it starting to finally get to her. Her face is quickly stained with her own tears. It's not fair! She could have had a family who would have loved her and a sister to truly care for up close and not just from a far. She stops mid cry when arms wrap gently around her body, careful not to squeeze too hard. Mindful of the injuries she has.

"It will all fall into place and you will be surrounded by love soon." Glinda whispers. Alphie is almost frozen in place as she never had somebody hug her like this. She then closes her eyes as her mother's warmth seeps into her warm body. This she can get used to. They just have to win this war first.

Well, I hope you all liked it. Yes, Alphie really could have defended herself from Violet but she chose not to. It sucked she looked like crap when she finally got to see Glinda but Glinda is just happy to see her daughter and talk with her. I won't tell you what the next chapter is going to be about cause I want it to be a secret. Hehe. Till then!
