CH 29

"Daphne has always been there for me. I must find a way to help. This new stronger magic is too much. It's controlling me." Politea quickly called the only other fair she knew would be able to help. The magic dimension was suffering. Domino was under attack and her best friend was seeking support in this dire time to save her family. Three ancestral witches were after the dragon flame and a legendary fairy they suspected was one of the twins.

"I need your help. Actually we all need your help. Daphne was able to save one of the twins, but the other one will be frozen in time." She paused on her cell while still flying in the direction of Daphne. "I can't. Something is wrong with me and I fear for what might happen… Ok…thank you." The conversation ended with those final words.

Politea flew as fast as she could in order to reach her friend. Strong magic taunted her as she reached her friend, but rejecting her friend's cry for help was not worth flying away from. If she were to retreat and leave her dear friend, then she would never know if this tempting feeling was all in her head causing Daphne to perish alone, or truly something intimidating. Either way she would stand by Daphne until she could no longer resist the cal.

As the elderly fairy hung up her phone she began to pursue her mission. She had to save this little girl before something else interfered that could potentially threaten her even more. Now that the dragon flame was safe, the most important child who would grow up to be the universe's protector was in danger.

Her long dress blew behind her as she ran down the icy path that was intended to hide away the child. It was better to find her while the ancestral witches were preoccupied with Domino. Knowing those three, they wouldn't just leave things alone until they retrieved the dragon flame as well even if they already contained the most powerful fairy. She knew, as well as everyone else, that unless they could lure the Amalgamate Fairy to the dark side or destroy her, good would always win and the fairy of the dragon flame would always be protected. Thus, leading her on to finding the frozen child before it was too late.

Once she reached the ice sculpted cradle she peered in and witnessed the frozen child peacefully asleep. In her little frozen dome, time was still. The woman gently placed a spell around the child separating her from her frozen home. The innocent child remained cold and still giving the effect of death. The elderly woman placed another spell on the child revealing a feint heart beat. A small smile crossed her face for the relief that the child was still alive. Quickly, she held the child close and retreated from the icy chasm. She hastily conjured up a teleportation spell and slipped through. Once she emerged on the other side she ran to her small home in the forest.

"Hello dear." She breathed happily. "I am Eldora." Still a child and already you're famous." The baby remained quiet and frozen causing the woman to frown slightly. "Now let's see if we can unfreeze you."

Through the next six years Eldora attempted numerous spells and potions to unfreeze the sleeping child. However, to her misfortune, nothing seemed to revive the child. All hope seemed lost and Eldora felt helpless. Nothing was working to save the princess. Nothing until on the day her twin used magic for the first time. Eldora stepped back away as a bright light illuminated the house. For a quick second, the light blinded her causing her to turn away, and then she heard the cry of a baby.

"Hello there princess." Eldora tearfully grinned staring down at the gurgling baby. The small infant had bright green eyes and a smile that could light up the darkest days. "I am very sorry little one, but it is not safe to stay with me anymore." Lifting the child up, Eldora held her close to her chest. "It is not my place to raise you for your journey has just begun."

Later that night Eldora carried the sleeping, yet unfrozen, child towards the orphanage. Slowly, she walked up the stairs and knocked on the wooden door. A light flickered and the door knob wiggled. As the door swung open a young woman stood in the doorway smiling brightly.

"What can I do for you ma'am?" The woman politely asked while eyeing the small infant.

"I found this child in the woods and I knew this would be the best place for her." She smiled weakly at the child and extended her towards the orphanage lady.

"The poor dear." The woman accepted the child and cuddled her to her chest. "Any idea for a name? She will need one."

The King and Queen of Domino had named their child, but inorder to hide away the child's identity, Eldora came up with a new name.

"Briana."

My time in the Fairy Clock Room had ended and so I was back to my miserable present life with questions, villains, and all kinds of magical problems. Once I returned, everyone stared at me expecting me to spill out all of the details. Well, I wasn't. Know that I had my answers, I knew what I had to do and I knew who I could rely on.

I began to walk past everyone, now that we were the same height and age, they couldn't stop me very well. The four of us were still in our 18 year old forms the only difference was that I managed to find a way to transform without my wings appearing. My parents and sisters weren't entirely happy about me remaining at this age, but I could care less.

"So, find out anything that can help us kick the bad guy's butts?" Stella asked. I ignored her and continued my walk past.

"What did you find out? You can tell us." Aisha tried to encourage. Flora and Musa nodded with a smile towards me; however that didn't persuade me either. This was my life not theirs. They weren't the ones being attacked by every single villain since the day they were born. At least Bloom grew up with a mom and dad.

I barged through the door into the hallway and continued walking. "Briana, wait." Josh called, but I ignored him. A hand grabbed my arm pulling me to a stop. "Hey, what's wrong?" His caring smile caused me to melt completely. My eyes filled with tears and the next thing I knew was that I was bawling out my eyes into his chest feeling sorry for myself. "Look, whatever it is, I'm here for you."

Range pierced through me. "No you're not. You ran off remember and then randomly showed up in Andros!" I shoved him back. Apparently it was harder than I thought. I watched him fly through the air and hit the wall. My next reaction wasn't what I expected either. I approached him with blazing fists. He stood up in a defensive position, not out of fear, but out of the urge to fight back.

"That's enough!" Daphne yelled once I swung my fist. Josh gripped it and held me tight to restrain anything else I might throw at him. "Briana, we need to talk." My body relaxed and Josh let go allowing me to freely follow my sister. As we turned the corner I made sure to look back at Josh with a cold and heartless expression.

Daphne had taken us back to Domino for a reason still foreign to me. I was completely left in the dark at why we were the only ones and no one else was with us. Finally, I had had enough of this secrecy. "Ok, what are we doing?" I snapped.

"We need to go talk to someone." She said simply continuing to lead me through the castle.

"Who? Who can possibly help me? No one. That's who. Plus, I don't need help. I can take on all those villains all by my self and if I can't then I will die trying." My point was made across along with my harsh irritated tone.

Daphne spun around with a disapproving glare. "You should be grateful you have so many people willing to stand by you no matter what." She snapped. "And how dare you do that to Mother and Father." She motioned from my head to feet. "You know they want you as a little girl, so they can watch you grow up and here it is you're playing adult."

My eyes narrowed at her while my blood boiled in my veins. "So what?! They shouldn't have to do anything for me! I didn't ask for them or anyone else! I don't want any of this! Mom and Dad just want me to be the perfect little princess because they never had a chance with Bloom! The only reason you all need me is because if I die then darkness will take over and then Bloom can easily be destroyed or the dragon flame will get stolen! I'm a pawn in this messed up game for survival!" My fists were clenched tight enough that I could feel my nails digging into the palms of my hands.

My sister's whole body seemed to relax and she stepped back. "You don't have to ask. You are stronger than this. I know you can fight this darkness that's inside of you." Nothing could compare to the sorrow I felt as she sadly turned away from me.

"I'm trying." A heavy sigh escaped my mouth and I was unsure if she heard me or not. Yet, that didn't seem to keep her from leading the way to wherever we were headed.

We came to the door of our Father's library. It had dawned on me that we were here for the Book of Destiny. My mind was still unclear for what it could possibly help us with. After all, this whole situation seemed useless. Daphne motioned for me to enter.

"So, I'm going in alone?" My eyebrows arched at her.

She solemnly nodded and opened the door. "This way you can tell me whatever you want."

While passing by her I made an unsure expression, but that didn't seem to change her mind. After I had entered, the door closed behind me causing me to jump a little. Awkwardly, I approached the large book once more similar to the first day I had returned to Domino. There were no directions for what to do next, obviously, so opening the book seemed like the next best option. Though, I never did choose the best options anyways.

"Ah, Princess Briana," The scribe appeared in a ghostly manor. "What can I do for you?" He politely bowed.

"To be honest, Bartelby, I don't know." I admitted. Honestly, who would know at a time like this?

"You seem lost." He examined me closely and I stepped back crossing my arms.

"Really, that's the best you can come up with?" I bitterly responded with an un-amusing look while awaiting his response.

"It seemed the most polite way of saying 'completely and utterly distraught'." He fixed his lens on his eye with an eloquent smile.

"Well, you're right." I sighed leaning on the pedestal containing the Book of Destiny. "They are all back. All at once. How am I supposed to take on all of them?"

"You will have help." Bartelby encouraged.

"But I don't want others to get hurt."

"It's a war coming. People get hurt in a war. It's the ultimate battle that the world sought so hard to avoid." Why on earth did Daphne send me here?

"So basically World War 3." My head leaned down so that I was now looking at my shoes.

"I have no idea what that is, but if it's bad, then yes."

"Well, go ahead, use the book and lay it all out for me." I angrily encouraged while flipping through the pages of the book.

"That's not how it works." He shooed my hands away from the book and waved his hand over it. "Princess Blossom of Domino, is your real name, born as the next generation of the Amalgamate fairy. You must contain the balance in order to keep the Dragon Flame safe making you the Fairy of Fairies. However, you are based upon a legend making you more commonly know as the Legendary Guardian." The page turned revealing four figures.

"In legend there were only two protectors. The Amalgamate Fairy and the Guardian formed by the same magic for the same purpose making them magically connected. However, that was a legend. In history, there were two more. These two were already based off of legends and so they were quickly forgotten, the vampire and the werewolf. For one, a ring is passed down for the vampire connecting that being to the Guardians. The second, a wolf, who never dies, grows up protecting the werewolf." The next page appeared showing a battle. Of course.

"There will be a battle, but it will not be the end. One of the four will sacrifice themselves."

"WAIT WHAT?!" I cut him off completely. He eyed me annoyingly as he straightened his suit while I exploded. "Are you saying one of us will die?!"

"That, I can not say." He composed himself proudly but one could tell in his eyes the hurt he felt by exposing the future.

"Of course you can't say, why would you?! Why would anyone want to make my life easier?" Frantically I paced around the room. "Please say you're kidding." My pacing back in forth continued whether it helped or not. Inside my body felt like a circus act.

"When, when will the battle take place?"

"The day that time began again for you." He sighed.

My eyes grew wide. "Today." My heart was pounding, my veins ran cold, and nothing I seemed to do could stop my mind from racing with horrible thoughts. At the sound of a loud knock on the door I jumped into the pedestal.

"Briana," Daphne ran into the room. The urgency in my voice practically caused me to have a heart attack. "Hurry, we have to go."

"Why? What's going on?" I scanned her until a shimmering object on her finger caught my attention. "What's that?" I pointed.

"Nothing. Come on."

"Obviously it's something if I asked." She was pulling me along until I finally gave a stern pull back.

"I… I'm engaged." She weakly smiled at me. Now I wished my heart was still pounding because from the sudden silence of it I thought I might die right now.

"What?"

"I'm engaged to Thoren." Her cheeks blushed and the sense of urgency seemed to fade away.

"Have you told anyone?" Words finally came out of my mouth. Don't get me wrong, I was thrilled for her, but now she would be leaving too.

"Just you. It's been a little crazy around here lately." She giggled with a loving smile.

"Well, congrats." Was all I could manage to say. There was a loud explosion and a few screams.

"Come on." Daphne pulled me along as we ran towards the loud commotion.

We emerged into the opening of a valley just outside the kingdom. Everyone was there and I mean everyone. The winx, my family, other royals, my friends, Faragonda, Eldora, Saladin and even the specialists while on the other side was my worst nightmare.

"Ah, Briana, so nice of you to join us." Darkar grinned along with Valtor, The Ancestral Witches, The Wizards of the Black Circle, along with their little monster minions. "We've been patiently waiting."
