(AN: I am very sorry I did not get this part out in January but sadly real life, health and other issues got in the way and I ended up rewriting some of it as I was not happy with it, but thankfully I now have it ready for posting and the next chapter will be the end of the coup storyline and we will finally move onto more interesting things. I thank everyone who has stayed with this story)

Atris ran aided by the force she easily lost Yarrik and Krom in the alleys of the city, she had to escape if she had any hope of saving the Jedi Order and the Republic along with it. She cursed the weakness of her former fellow council members, because of them everything she had so long fought for was in danger of been destroyed. Sensing danger she quickly twisted left and continued towards the nearest star port, she needed a ship to get her to her secret academy on Telos. Thankfully she had already sent the shipment of Sith holocrons she had been assigned to look after on ahead, she would study them as soon as she returned and ensure her power increased enough to finally destroy Revan and anyone else who stood against all that stood for goodness in her eyes.
Yarrik and Krom stopped as they again lost Atris's trail and tried to use the force to locate her but they found no trace of her, it was clear the former council member had escaped and what that meant for the future neither could guess. Reluctantly they turned and headed back to the temple, they hoped now that Zirrik was back where he belonged things would return to some sense of normality.

Zirrik did not know how to truly feel about Revan's return or the fact it was only due to him and his groups actions that Vrook and Atris's betrayal had been put down, as he stared at the former hero of the Mandalorian War he felt no trace of the darkside he would expect to feel from him. Was it possible somehow they had been wrong, that Revan's motivations and that of those who followed him were not due to falling to the darkside but some other reason that escaped their notice?
"Before we start talking I suggest we call a stand down of both of forces both on the ground and in space above us, my forces have been keeping yours distracted and have orders not to kill but you know as well as I do that sometime in battle things do not go as you plan" Revan suggested as he watched Vrook and Kai-El be shackled by force suppressor cuffs by Vash and Zhar.
"I agree, nothing is certain once combat begins" Zirrik agreed and ordered Vandar to order both the fleet and their ground parties to stop fighting even as Revan did the same.
Revan frowned as Admiral Stark reported it was not possible to stop as a Sith fleet have shown up and attacked the Defence fleet which was still reeling from their distraction tactics as many ships were still disabled, their own fleet was doing their best to protect those ships unable to protect themselves alongside those still able to fight.
"Very well Admiral destroy the Sith vessels as quickly as you can and ensure none of them escape" he instructed as he turned to where Bastila now sat. "Bastila if you can focus your power sourly on what is happening with the fleets" he told her.
"I will do my best Revan but I have taxed myself already" Bastila responded as she dropped her focus from the other aspects of their mission to only what was happening in the space above them.
She was tired and drained from using her power for so long and on multiple targets, but she held on aided somewhat by her bond to Revan. She could feel him share his strength with her helping her keep her focus, but she knew once this mission was over she would probably need a long rest.
"Canderous stand down and retreat but do not head for the fleet just yet as they are engaged in a battle with a small Sith fleet, your ship would be an easy target" Revan continued to issue orders.
"Fight was almost over anyway" Canderous responded sounding satisfied. "I take it the mission is complete?" he inquired even as he began to send the signal for his team to retreat.
"The coup has been stopped but Atris has escaped and worse she has fully embraced the dark side of the force" Revan answered. "Which makes her a bigger threat than before but one we do not have to focus on right now, wait for the all clear from Admiral Stark before heading to the fleet" he added.
"Understood" Canderous replied before cutting the link. He followed his men into the vast city leaving behind a mass of injured or confused Jedi and their temple guard allies.
Revan turned his attention back to the council to find Zirrik was just finishing his own conversation with his people, hopefully the discussion to come would not prove as annoying and pointless as those he'd had in the past.

Admiral Stark did not overly react to the order from Revan and nor was he surprised by it, these so called Sith had once been their trusted allies. Brother and Sisters in arms before they had betrayed them, murdering many of their friends and even in some cases family. Now they were enemies worse than even the Mandalorians in the eyes of every member of the Revanchists, they would be hunted down and destroyed to the last man.
"You Heard the General, tell all ships to go for the enemy weak points and not to stop firing until they are nothing but burning wrecks" he ordered. "Order Captain Tarkin to take Omega and Alpha flight and target the battlecruisers communications array, that will be their command ship" he continued. "Disabling their ability to give orders will cause as chaos as it did with the Defence fleet" he mused.
"All ships are acknowledging the orders sir even the Republic ships, Captain Tarkin is requesting another wing of fighters" Organa informed him.
"Give him Delta wing and request one more from the Defence fleet" Stark quickly responded as he moved forward to see more clearly out of the bridges main window of the battle.
Captain Tarkin grinned as his request was granted and quickly began to relay orders to his squadrons, he would use to squads to defend their attack run from enemy fighters whilst using the rest to hit the comm relays he had been tasked with destroying. Finally they were fighting the true enemy, the traitors who had stabbed them in the back and killed many of their friends. He had seen his own brother cut down during the coup and the only reason he himself had not died was been pulled away from the fight by his friend and fellow Captain Galen Pellaeon, he had raged for days afterwards before regaining control of himself and waiting for the time to strike back. Now they were once more led by Revan the man they had followed through the fires of the Mandalorian War and beyond, even better General Surik had returned to the fleet as well. He had served under her personally during the last few battles off the war and he knew she was loyal to Revan and to their cause, unlike Malak who only served himself. Shaking off the distracting thoughts he refocused on the job at hand, he watched as Delta and Omega squadrons slammed into the a wave of enemy fighters even as he led Alpha and Republic Beta squadron deep into the battlecruisers structure to target the comm relays.
Admiral Tia watched as her own fleet turned to engage the Sith defended or alongside the ships they had only just been fighting, a few of her ships were still disabled and their crews worked to repair them. Thankfully their former aggressors were keeping their word and defending those ships as best they could, still she ordered a call for more help if possible considering the damage they had taken to their own comm system.
"Order our ships to focus on the carriers, if we can take them out we limit their capacity to release new fighters" she ordered calmly as she watched their unknown allies target the battlecruiser and surrounding cruisers. "Have our fighters focus on taking out their weapon platforms and engines" she added.
"Understood Admiral, relaying orders now" Tarlson quickly responded from the side.
The ship shuddered as it absorbed several hits which were deflected by their shields; thankfully her ship was far studier than most of the Republic fleet as it stood. She watched as the majority of her ships began to target the Sith carriers, turbo lasers and torpedoes exploded all over the place. As with most battles it was complete chaos, but she was confident they would prevail.
"Admiral, I just received a short burst transmission from Admiral Dodonna" her comm officer reported. "She is on her way to assist with elements of the First and Second fleets" he informed her.
"Good, relay that to our allies and let's see if we can begin to box them in so they cannot escape" Tia ordered.

Canderous, Mira and the rest of their team ducked and dived through the chaotic streets of Corusant with ease, they had left the few temple guard and Jedi in a confused state as they suddenly pulled away at Revan's command. They had started to chase them but quickly come to a dead stop, more than likely due to orders from the Council. Thankfully the main point of the whole mission had been completed but according to Revan, Atris had escaped and would probably become another enemy they would have to deal with at some point which suited him fine. Fighting Jedi had always been a challenge he enjoyed, sadly those he had just finished fighting were not up to the same standards as those who had followed Revan and Malak to war. They'd seen a few squads of soldiers heading towards where they had been fighting but they had been in such a hurry they'd missed them as they stayed out of sight until they'd passed, the Republic capital was clearly in more of a mess than he had originally thought possible. He would have suspected there to be at least a garrison close to the temple just in case of an attack, but clearly there had been none close by which made no sense. He wondered how relations between the Jedi and the Senate were?
"The hangar is just two more blocks to the left" Mira pointed out as they stopped for a few seconds to get their bearings. "Anyone not coming with us, this is where we part ways" she told the group.
"Is it true about you receiving Mandalore's helmet?" Jagga one of the Mandalorian bounty hunters they'd hired inquired as Jango stepped forward to hear the answer as well.
"Yes I will and more to the point Revan has promised us our planet back and the room to expand once this war is over" Canderous answered. "I will bring our people back from the brink of extinction, I will preserve our culture and way of life our history" he swore as he stared both his fellow Mandalorians in the eyes. "We are dying as a race if we do not do something to stop it, this is our chance not only to preserve all of what it means to be Mandalorian but also to remind the galaxy who and what we are without the stigma of what Cassius Fett and his followers did" he told them.
Jango and Jagga looked between one another as did the third Mandalorian they had hired named Sarine clearly thinking over his words, one by one they slowly snapped to attention and beat their fists against their chest in a show of loyalty. It was a start he thought as they began moving again as two of the humans they hired decided to call it a day and leave once they had been paid the rest of their fee, once they were in the hangar and their ship they waited for the signal they could leave to dock with the Fireclaw. For now they had to wait as they had already been warned of the battle going on overhead, none of the ships could afford to drop their shields to allow them to dock right now.

Revan stared at the council or what was left of it after Vrook and Kai-El had been moved to the cells alongside Zeph, plus a few other harder headed Jedi who believed Atris's actions had been justified. Vima and Vash remained standing with his team whilst Zhar had retaken his seat, that said something about how much of a divide still remained even with the coup been put down.
"I believe you said you wished to talk" Zirrik finally said wondering just what Revan would or could say after everything that had happened.
"Indeed I do but before we get to that discussion I think we should talk about your attempt to destroy me" Revan shot back hotly. "You tried to not only kill me but destroy my very soul forever denying me any type of afterlife either through becoming one with the force, or whatever you personally believes happens to you when you die" he accused them ensuring to meet each of their eyes personally and was satisfied to see either nervousness or regret in them. "What gave you the right?" he demanded to know. "Was killing me not enough, do you have any idea of the agony I felt as you tried to destroy me?" he snarled.
"No we don't" Vima responded with a sigh having knowing this was going to come up at some point now that Revan was once more before the council even though she, Vash and Zhar remained standing with Revan's group and had not retaken their seats. "We have no clue how you suffered nor did we pause to consider it" she admitted earning a glare from Meetra and Niks.
"We believed we were doing what was best for the Republic and the Jedi Revan" Zirrik spoke up tiredly. "You had already proven to be a able commander during the war, having you come back and turn those same skills that once defended us on us and considering how successful you were been made us rush to find a way of stopping you" he explained. "When Atris and Vrook demanded your immediate execution I of course vetoed it and demanded another option" he added.
"It was Kai-El who suggested wiping your mind once you were captured Revan not only as a compromise to killing you but as a way of possibly gaining information out of you from whatever residual traces of you remained" Kavar informed him. "We did not know of your force bond with Bastila until she returned and then we had to find a way of ensuring she did not realise what we were doing after we lied about your condition" he admitted.
Revan held up a hand as he heard Bastila inquire over their bond, how they had stopped her feeling his pain as best she could whilst still focusing her battle meditation on the battle going above them. "Bastila is most interested how you stopped her from sensing the agony I underwent whilst you tried to destroy me?" he informed them causing most of the council to glance to where Bastila knelt with her eyes closed in concentration.
"We slipped her a sleeping potion with her meal before we started the procedure" Vash admitted with a very regretful look on her face as she spoke and gained not only Revan's attention but most of the others as well.
"And not one of you questioned how wrong that was?" Zayne demanded not really surprised considering how they had treated him during his days as a wanted man for a crime he did not commit.
"I did but I did not voice it as I already explained my reasoning for taking part in the whole affair to Revan when I requested his aide in rescuing Ana" Vima spoke up. "I knew it would be pointless to speak up, once Kai-El's idea had been accepted by the council including Atris and Vrook who still wanted Revan dead I knew there would be no stopping it" she explained. "And I knew keeping Bastila from feeling what we were doing was important so she did not lose faith in us and the cause, without her and her battle meditation we would face defeat in weeks" she added.
Revan felt a wave of fury pass over the bond before Bastila repressed it and pushed it aside before it interfered with her focus, hopefully she would deal with it once they were back at the fleet. He knew how dangerous not dealing with such things could turn on them which is why he meditated and purged himself after he had delved into the dark side, he had no wish to see Bastila succumb to the dangers of her emotions now she was no longer suppressing them.
"To say she is not pleased is an understatement" Revan stated coldly. "I accept Vima's account of why she took part in this madness as well as Zhar's sorrow for his part in it, yet I have still to hear your reasons and thoughts on the matter even as we talk" he pointed out.
"We did what we thought was nessacary Revan" Kavar stated as boldly as he dared given what had happened so far since Revan and his team had arrived. "You were destroying everything you vowed to defend, we had to find a way to stop you which did not violate the code of the Jedi" he added.
"But you did violate it" Meetra growled out unable to keep silent any longer. "You managed to capture Revan and instead of treating him as a prisoner, instead of seeing the truth of his actions in that he destroyed nothing" she spat. "Look at the records of his attacks since he returned and you will find every planet he captured was taken entirely intact and with very little damage done to its infrastructure and defences" she told them. "I've only recently returned and been updated on his campaign and yet I saw it, why couldn't you?" she inquired glaring at each of them in turn. "Could it be you allowed your fear stoked by Atris and Vrook's paranoia to blind you to the truth that he was not destroying anything if he could avoid it, that the death toll was small in comparison to any other sort of campaign" she went on.
"Blind we were" Vandar finally spoke cutting into Meetra's growing argument. "Blinded by fear, blinded by our own beliefs that from the dark side no one returns" he stated. "Believed we did that by removing Revan stop we would the campaign at its source, failed to see the lack of death or damage his campaign caused" he paused as he considered his new view of everything that had happened and more importantly his own failings during them. "Neither did we consider or take into account what Malak would do once you were gone, failed to see how much more dangerous he would be once he rose to be the Dark Lord of the Sith" he admitted.
"No we did not take Malak into account when we hatched our plan to capture you" Zhar agreed with a nod of his head. "Our greatest error when one considers that since assuming control of your fleet he has wiped out Telos and Taris and more are already burning in the fires of his growing madness" he said with a look of sorrow as he considered just how many lives had perished since Malak had taken over. "By removing you we gave him free reign and every death is on our heads, perhaps in our rush to stop the madness we sort to use you without considering the violation to the code we were committing" he stated.
"We did what we thought was best at the time, we did what we believed would end the war as quickly as possible and the only way to find out how you had amassed the fleet and ships you had available" Kavar spoke up once more wincing even as he did so as he knew it was not even a real apology. "Whether we were wrong is no longer relevant Revan, you survived and the only way that is possible is if you were protected by the force itself and that is something we did not even sense when we assigned you to the Endire Spire" he stated. "Clearly we were in error if the force wanted you alive as you are but we did not know that and thus we acted to protect the Republic blinded by our preconceptions or not, you can judge as you see fit but until you faced the same call we did you will never understand why we made it" he said hoping to have forth some kind of defence of their actions.
"I would never try and destroy someone's soul no matter what adversity I faced even if I had been a true Dark Lord I would never do such a thing" Revan countered already seeing just who actually had begun to regret their actions and those who ignored just how wrong those actions had been. "But that is not why we are here and this subject is one we can finish when Malak and his followers are all dead" he growled deciding they had wasted enough time on the past and needed to move forward before the Republic began to send troops to investigate what had happened. "We move onto just what is going on and what is truth and what is false" he declared.
Zirrik and the others all turned their attention to him and it was clear to him he had not had their undivided attention.
In the cells previous holding Vima and the others now housed Vrook, Kai-El and Zeph plus a few of their more die hard followers who had refused to stand down. The two former council members were still trying to come to grips with what they had seen Atris do as well as the fact it was Revan, Surik and their team who had exposed the dark heart of the woman they had trusted and followed in the coup to remove Zirrik.
"We have to get out of here and stop Revan before he and his followers leave" Vrook growled as he paced up and down the cell.
"How?" Kai-El inquired sounding frustrated. "All those who followed and believed in our cause is in here with us including Master Zeph, face it Vrook it is over and worse it deserves to be over when you consider Atris is not only insane but has embraced the dark side" he stated darkly.
"She was pushed into it by Revan's refusal to stand down and surrender to justice" Vrook insisted unwilling to accept the truth of what he had seen. "The fact the rest of the council just betrayed us by giving up and accepting Revan's and his group's corrupted viewpoint just added to the pressure she was under and it destroyed her" he growled. "We would not be here now if we had just killed Revan when we first captured him as Atris and myself insisted" he stated as he stopped pacing.
"Perhaps not but we do not kill our prisoners" Kai-El reminded him.
"In this case we should have made an exception, Revan has not only corrupted Bastila and the rest of the group who were a part of their mission but now he has brought the council low as well" Vrook insisted. "Zirrik's is so old and weak he easily caved into seeing Revan's view point, Zhar, Vima and Vash were already guilty of treason against the Jedi by hiding Revan's survival from us and even Vandar and Kavar turned on us at the end and refused to help us defend the council chamber" he continued to argue. "The only hope the Jedi has rests with us, we must escape and stop the madness" he stated.
"Escape is impossible as there is no one left who believes as we do" Zeph spoke up with a shake of his head as they turned to face him. "And with the rest of the council now willing to parley with Revan instead of arresting and putting him on trial, the Jedi are doomed" he added.
Vrook wanted to continue to argue but knew Zeph had a point, the council seemed more than willing to not only accept Revan's survival and his influence over Bastila but also seemed willing to parley with him as if he was not the enemy of everything the Jedi are supposed to stand for.
