Thanks for the reviews guys. I did mean to update on Friday but our internet as been playing up (again) but we are due to get a new router hopefully this week so it shouldn't interfere with me updating both fics. JS, I dont think I ever mentioned What Casey did I'm not too sure but just to clear things up; seeing as he is a year older than Ruby he had finished his HSC's shortly before he was diagnosed with Cancer but at the moment he doesn't do anything. However this chapter touches more on where he is heading now. Enjoy :)
Brax smiled down at her "Hy" leaning over the bar he placed a kiss on her lips "You do know you not working today"
Charlie nodded as she edged around the bar "Yeah but I was home alone and thought I would come and see if my amazing boyfriend would like to take me out for some lunch"
Brax chuckled and placed another kiss on her lips, this time allowing the kiss to linger for longer. Finally pulling away he pushed a stray hair behind her ears "I think your boyfriend would be crazy not too"
…
Charlie smiled and placed the glass cup down onto the table as she felt familiar arms wrap around her waist. A squeal escaped her lips as she felt Brax's teeth graze her earlobe
"Brax stop" she turned her head slightly only for Brax to take her lips in his. Not able to push him away Charlie embedded herself into the kiss, matching every stroke he gave. Finally feeling the need for air, she reluctantly pulled away and exhaled. Her eyes meeting his, she simpered up at his lowered gaze
"Whatever dirty thoughts are running through your mind Braxton, stop"
Brax grinned "I don't know what you are talking about" replied Brax His hands running up her stomach
Placing her hands over his, Charlie stopped them going any further "Your eyes say differently"
Brax shrugged as he lowered his head and placed a course of kisses along Charlie's neck "Well, seeing as you mentioned it, we are alone" he pulled back and raised his eyebrows suggestively
Charlie chuckled "Firstly, I didn't mention anything and secondly don't even think about it" she shook her head "We open for lunch in less than ten minutes"
Brax lowered his head again, his lips barely parted from hers "I think I could make do with five…if I try really really hard" his grip on Charlie tightened and before she could say a word his lips were on hers again.
Seeming to lose the little control she had been holding, Charlie turned in his arms, her hands now running through his hair.
Too engrossed in one another Charlie and Brax failed to register the approaching foot steps
"Wow" Sam one of the waiters spoke causing Brax and Charlie to spring apart "I could turn back around and give you guys a few minutes" he smirked at the both of them
Charlie felt the blush raising from her neck to her cheeks. Clearing her throat, she ran her fingers over her lips knowing they would be red and swollen from Brax's kiss "I'm gonna finish setting up this table" she looked up at Brax before looking down to see how excited he was. Leaning in close to him, her lips grazing his ears "You might want to take a few minutes in your office…to cool down" she pulled back and smirked up at him before she continued setting up the table
Brax stood beside her trying to hide his arousal as he glared at Sam, unimpressed by his timing "You can finish stocking up behind the bar"
Sam nodded and with a smirk still placed, he walked away
Brax glanced behind him to see that Sam was now behind the bar "We'll pick off where we left off later" he whispered to Charlie, before tapping her bum subtly
Charlie bit on bottom lip, trying to stop a wide smile making its way to her face. She glanced back at Brax only for him to wink at her as he joined Sam behind the bar. She smiled as she saw Sam say something not long before Brax lightly smacked the young boy across the back of the head
…
One Week Later
Picking up the letters that had come through the post, Ruby walked into the kitchen her coffee in one hand. Sitting at the dining table, she placed her mug down before she began flicking through the letters.
"Bills, Bills, Charlie, Bills…" Ruby paused at the next envelope. Slightly bigger than the others, she exhaled at the name printed on the front of it. Dropping the other letters she ran her hand over the printed name before turning it over. Her gaze trailed the sealed lips of the envelope as she battled whether to open it or not. Her head snapped up as she heard a door close and footsteps closing in from the hallway. Thinking quickly she packed up all the envelops throwing the one addressed to her at the bottom of the pile
"Morning" Charlie smiled down at Ruby before placing a kiss on her temple, looked down at the pile of envelops before walking into the kitchen
"Morning" Replied Ruby trying to hide her flustered state
"Any of those for me?" asked Charlie as she walked out of the kitchen, coffee in hand
Ruby looked at her confused "What?" her eyebrows knitting together
Charlie chuckled and shook her head "The letters Ruby. Any of them for me?"
"Oh" Ruby exhaled and nodded "Yep" she filled through the letters making sure not to expose the letter at the back to Charlie "Here" passing the one addressed to Charlie over she stood from the table and picked up the rest "The rest are bills and Junk mail" picking up the letters Ruby walked into the sitting room. Making sure Charlie couldn't see her she dug the letter addressed to her from the pile and turned towards the hallway
"I'm just gonna go take a shower" she called as she walked quickly down the hallway
"Ruby" Ruby stopped as Charlie called her name. She sighed, hoping Charlie hadn't seen her trying to hide the letter from her. Putting the letter behind her back she walked back up the hall but only stuck her head round the side
"Yeah?" she gave Charlie a smile
"You ok?" Charlie asked with a frown
Ruby nodded "Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" she asked
Charlie shook her head "You just seem a little distant. You sure everything is ok?"
Ruby nodded again "I'm sure mum" giving her one final smile, Ruby walked back down the hall and quickly shut her room door behind her
She exhaled and looked down at the letter addressed to her from the university from the city. Not wanting to know what it said she shoved it into her drawer and sat on the edge of her bed as she contemplated what she was going to
…
Charlie stood with a frown as she heard Ruby close her door behind her. She looked down at Ruby's barely touched coffee and her frown only deepened. Something seemed to have spooked her or at least had her acting oddly but Charlie couldn't see that anything was different. See looked down at the letter that Ruby had handed to her before her gaze travelled to the others that Ruby had placed on the side table next to the couch. Placing her cup of coffee down Charlie walked into the living room and picked up the letter. Flicking through them, she couldn't find anything that seemed out of the ordinary. Dropping them back down she sighed and looked down the hall only to see Brax coming out of their room
Seeing her face Brax immediately smiled "Morning" walking to her, he lowered his head and stole a quick kiss
Charlie smiled faintly "Morning"
Brax cocked an eyebrow "Maybe I should kiss you again and see if I could get a better response"
Charlie shook herself out of her thought "Sorry, I was just a little distracted"
"Yeah" Brax wrapped his arms around her waist "What about?"
Charlie bit into the corner of her lip and sighed "Ruby" she replied
"What about her?" asked Brax
"I don't know if I'm just being paranoid or reading too much into things but it just seems she's been acting a little different lately"
Brax frowned "Different like how?"
"I don't know" Charlie sighed "It's like ever since she got her results something's been on her mind and she won't talk about it. I mean you saw what she was like when I mentioned about her going to the city to study"
Brax shrugged "Babe maybe she's just not sure if she wants to study in the city anymore. Kids change their minds all the time"
Charlie shook her head "Ruby changes her mind about a lot of things but studying in the city is about the only thing she has never wavered on. Something else is going on I just know it"
"Maybe the thought of studying in the city when it still seemed so far away was different than the thought of it now that it's just around the corner. If you really feel like there is something bugging her just ask her or I'll talk to her if you want"
Charlie smiled up at him and placed her hands on his chest "Thank you for the offer but you're probably right" she sighed "She's probably just feeling nervous about it" she leaned up and placed a kiss on his lips "How about I make us some breakfast?"
Brax grinned down at her "Sounds good" unwrapping her from his arms he slapped her bum as she walked away causing Charlie to giggle
…
"Hy kiddo" Brax slid the drinks order over the bar to one of the waiters as Ruby took a seat on a stool "You ok?" asked Brax as she sat unspoken
"Yea, Heath said you wanted to talk to me" replied Ruby as she looked at him expectantly
Brax's eyebrows knitted together as he went to shake his head before it dawned on him. Lowering his head he clicked his tongue "I'm going to kill him"
Ruby frowned "I take it you're talking about Heath?"
Brax nodded "You got that right"
"So did you not want to talk to me then?"
Brax chuckled and looked up at Ruby as he battled against what he should do, he knew Heath had thought he was chickening out. Exhaling he shook his head "I do want to talk to you about something but this isn't really the right place"
Ruby looked around before looking back to Brax "Right so this thing you want to talk to me about it must be important then?"
Brax nodded "Yea it kind of is"
Ruby sat unspoken for a few seconds before she edged forward on her seat "Well you have to tell me now because my minds only going to go wondering till you do"
Brax chuckle "How about I talk to you about it when I get home, given your mum isn't there"
Ruby's forehead creased "Why can't mum know?" she titled her head slightly and cocked an eyebrow "Is it something about mum?"
Brax couldn't help but laugh at the look on her face "I'm honestly going to kill Heath"
Ruby shook her head "No he was right in telling me, I only wish he had told me what it was" she pouted at Brax "Please please tell me now, I promise not to tell mum or Bianca or even Casey"
Knowing he wasn't getting out of this one Brax gave in and looked around the restaurant "Fine but not here. Come on kiddo"
Ruby was out of her seat and pacing towards the office in seconds. Closing the door she turned to Brax "So what is it?" she frowned, noting Brax's nervousness "Wait it's nothing bad is it?"
Brax looked up at her and shook his head "No, no it's nothing bad at least I hope you won't think it is"
Ruby nodded "Ok, could you please put me out of my misery and just tell me already" she watched as Brax made his way around his desk and unlocked the bottom drawer. He seemed to stand still for a moment before he stepped away from the drawer and Ruby felt her eyes widen in shock as she saw what was in his hand.
"So I had this idea of proposing to your mum in my head" Brax exhaled "Never done this before but I know that traditionally I'm supposed to ask her parents for her hand in marriage but seeing as they're not here I think that role should go to you. You're gonna be a part of this so I figured it was only fair that I ask your permission"
A smile adorned Ruby's face as she looked down at the blue ring box in Brax's hand. She looked up at him "Can I see it?" she asked and Brax nodded as he opened it up for her
Ruby gasped her eyes not leaving the ring "Where did you… it's so…" she looked up at Brax "It's beautiful" she said "And I swear it's so mum"
Brax nodded with a smile "I thought so too" he rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand "So what do you say? Is this alright with you?" Brax felt himself let out a breath as Ruby nodded
"This is more than alright with me" she looked up at him beaming "I think mum would kill me if I said otherwise"
Brax chuckled "So you think she'll like it?" he closed the box
Ruby nodded "She'll love it"
Brax smiled as he moved back to his desk and placed the ring back inside before locking the drawer again
"So when are you planning on popping the question?" Ruby was almost bouncing on the spot and Brax couldn't help but laugh at her
"Not sure yet, I've kind of been waiting for the right moment"
"Have you at least got a plan of how you're gonna propose?" asked Ruby making herself comfortable on the couch in the office
"Errr…" Brax nodded lightly "I think so. But I'm not sure yet"
Ruby nodded "Well I promise not to say anything but please make it soon I can only keep this kind of secret to myself for so long"
Brax chuckled "I hear ya"
Ruby stood to her feet "I know there was a lot going on when you and mum met but I'm glad you did. You make her really happy"
Brax nodded with a smile "She makes me happy too"
…
Next Day
"So you heard anything from the Uni's yet?" asked Casey as he and Ruby walked down the beach
"Err…" Ruby cleared her throat as she shook her head "No not yet" she glanced around the beach trying to distract herself with something else
"I'm sure they'll get back to you soon. With results like yours they'll be crazy not to"
"Yeah" replied Ruby a light smile on her face "Do you know what would make you a really great boyfriend right now?"
Casey rolled his eyes and groaned "What's that?"
"If you brought your oh so adorable girlfriend a gelato"
"Oh right…" he glanced around the beach "So where is this adorable girlfriend?" he grinned as Ruby swatted his chest
"Hy" she pouted at him but giggled as Casey pulled her to him "Just for that I think you should shout me lunch as well"
Grinning down at her, Casey kissed her softly "I think that's only fair"
…
"You guys not going anywhere today?" Brax asked Ruby as he walked into the living room. He turned as Ruby failed to answer, only to find that her mind seemed to be else where
His forehead creased as he stepped to her "Ruby" he called her name a little firmer, snapping her out of her thought
"Oh hi" she smiled and then turned back to the TV
Brax chuckled "You didn't hear what I asked you did you?"
Ruby turned back to him and titled her head and sighed "Sorry I was somewhere else"
Brax nodded "I figured that much" Even he had noticed how distracted she seemed to be lately
"What did you say?" asked Ruby
"I asked if you and Case where going to be home all day today?"
Ruby nodded "Yeah he's just gone to the dinner to get us some breakfast"
"Right" replied Brax. He watched her for a moment longer before he had to ask "You ok?"
Ruby nodded with a smile "Fine, just thinking that's all"
Brax thought for a second before sitting down on the couch next to Ruby "Well you've been doing a lot of thinking lately and Charlie's noticed. She's worried that something's going on"
Ruby shook her head as she shuffled in her seat, her legs curled under her "Nothing's wrong. Just over thinking things"
"What things? Asked Brax. He waited but Ruby looked at him and he could see the uncertainty in her face "If you don't want to tell me that's ok, I just figured maybe I could help with whatever it is that's bothering you"
Ruby let out a breath and tucked a stray hair behind her ears. Ever since she had received the acceptance letter from the University in the city she hadn't been able to stop thinking about it "I'm a little unsure about something" she spoke and Brax nodded clearly waiting for her to continue. Biting the bullet she stood to her feet "Give me a second"
Brax watched as she walked down the hall, and heard as she entered her room. He had figured it had been to do with her going to University but now he wasn't so sure. Hearing her footsteps he looked up as she walked back into the living room, his gaze travelling down to the envelope in her hand
"What you got there?"
Ruby held the envelope out for Brax who took it from her as he looked up at her
"It's from the University…" she sat down next to him "In the city"
Brax looked at her with a frown before looking back down at the envelope. Seeing she had opened it. He pulled the documents out and read through the letter on the first page. He chuckled lightly and turned to Ruby with a smile
"Rubes this is great" he looked back at the letter and it was then his eye caught the date "When did this arrive?" he asked turning back to Ruby
"Couple days ago" she replied. Her feet tucked underneath her and her hands wedged in-between her thighs
Brax knew if Charlie had seen this acceptance letter, she would have told near enough everyone by now "I take it Charlie doesn't know about this?"
Ruby bit into her bottom lip as she shook her head "No. I haven't shown her yet" she sighed as her face fell "She'll get really excited and be all happy for me"
Brax cocked an eyebrow "You say that like it's a bad thing"
"Ruby shrugged "It is when I'm not even sure I'm going to study in the city"
"Why? From what Charlie has said you've always wanted to go off to the City for Uni, what's changed?"
Ruby sat unspoken for a while as she fiddled with her fingers. Looking up at Brax her face saddened "A lot has changed since last year and I'm just scared that if I go to the city they'll change but not in a good way"
Ruby wasn't making it easy for Brax to understand what she was trying to say but he had spent enough time with her to be able to read between her words when needed. He smiled as he put the letter back into the envelope and placed it on the coffee table
"Is this about Casey?" he asked, and the look on her face let him know he had hit the mark "You're scared things might change between you and him if you go away to the city the study"
Ruby nodded her head "I know they'll change. We'll go from seeing each other every day to every few weeks maybe even months" she glanced away from Brax "What if it doesn't work?"
Brax clicked his tongue unsure how to say what he wanted to get across. He knew he couldn't make her any promises but he didn't want her regretting any decisions made for the wrong reasons
"Rubes I can't tell you that you're wrong, that the distance won't change things because I don't know what will happen and neither do you. The only thing I am sure of is that I've seen Casey with a couple girls before you…" he chuckled lightly as Ruby screwed her face up "My point is I've never seen him the way he is with you. If he's not freaking out about you going to study in the City then it's obvious he isn't planning on going anywhere and he definitely wouldn't want you making a decision this big based on him, he would want you to do what makes you happy. Trust me on that"
Ruby looked at him and smiled "I should probably tell mum shouldn't I and Case"
Brax nodded "Yea, I think they'll love to hear your news, especially your mum"
Ruby chuckled "Thanks"
"No thanks needed" Brax gave her a wink before turning as he heard his and Charlie's room door open, indicating that Charlie was finally awake. He turned back to Ruby "No time like the present" he ruffled her hair and jumped up with a smirk as she frowned at him
Charlie walked into the living room and let out a yawn, she smiled as she saw Brax ruffle Ruby's hair and jump up "Is he at it already" she walked up to the back of the couch and placed a kiss on Ruby's temple
"Morning" spoke Charlie. Standing up straight she looked to the envelope on the table and smile "What's this?" Stepping round the couch she picked it up and her eyes widened slightly as she took in where the letter was from
"Don't you want to look inside?" said Ruby
Charlie nodded and with speed that had Brax's chuckling opened the envelope
Taking the letter out Charlie scanned the page, a smile spreading across her face "You got in?" she spoke almost as a question rather than a statement
Ruby nodded and couldn't help but smile at the pride she could see on Charlie's face "Yea I got in"
"Aww Ruby this is great. I'm so pleased for you" Slumping down onto the couch and pulled Ruby into her
A few seconds later Ruby tried pulling away from Charlie "Err mum I can't breathe"
"Sorry" Charlie pulled back and looked to Ruby with a smile "I just know how hard you worked for this"
Ruby nodded, taking a quick glance at Brax before looking back at Charlie "I guess all that studying paid off"
"Yea it did" Charlie placed another kiss on Ruby's temple before standing to her feet "Does Casey know?" she glanced back at Ruby before proceeding towards the kitchen "I know he'll be beyond pleased that you got in"
Brax glanced at Ruby to see her smile fall for a second before she picked it back up
"No he doesn't know yet, he's just nipped out. I'll break the good news to him when he gets back" Ruby stood to her feet "I'm just gonna have a bath" she smiled at Charlie and Brax before disappearing down the hall
Brax knew Charlie wouldn't want Ruby not going to the City if it was only to stay close to Casey and in all honesty neither would he. Ruby was a bright girl that was for sure. Brax exhaled as he thought of Casey and where things were going for him. Casey had finished his HSC's the year before he was diagnosed with cancer but University had never been something that Casey had seemed interested in
"Hy, why don't you and Ruby go out into the city to celebrate…on me" he added as he leaned in and placed a quick kiss on her lips
"Ummm…" Charlie smiled up at him "I think that's a great idea" she placed another kiss on his lips "I knew there was a reason I loved you" she chucked lightly as she settled at her seat on the dining table
Brax shook his head with a grin "I knew you were just using me for my money"
Charlie shook her head "Don't forget your Charming good looks and irresistible body"
Brax chuckled "Well now that you mention it, I know exactly what you mean" he sat down beside her "I finish work at six today so when you guys get back me and you are having some alone time"
Charlie shrugged "Well I'll have to see if I can fit you in. I've got a pretty busy schedule today and plus my other boyfriend is expecting me" she grinned over at him
Leaning in close to her, a smirk settled on his face "Well this other boyfriend is just gonna have to wait a while. He can have you after nine"
Brax chuckled and pulled back as Charlie hit his chest lightly a smile playing at her corner of her lips. Her smile fell as she glanced behind her before looking back at Brax
"Babe was I just imagining it or did Ruby not seem that excited about getting a place in the city"
Brax exhaled "Well she did say she wasn't sure if she wanted to go there anymore. Maybe she still hasn't decided yet"
"Do you not think she'll go there?" Charlie looked at Brax warily
Brax exhaled as he rubbed his hand over the back of his neck "I don't know what she'll decide Charlie, but she's a smart girl she'll make the right choice for herself"
Charlie narrowed her gaze at Brax "You was out her before me" she said and Brax nodded, his forehead creasing together "So she told you something didn't she?"
Brax shook his head "Nope. I just think maybe she'd rather be closer to home for Uni or she might actually still end up in the city and all she's doing right now is weighing up her options" Brax thought he sounded as convincing as possible
Unsure if she believed him or not but knowing even if Ruby had told him something he wouldn't tell her if Ruby didn't want her to know, she decided to let it go
"Fine" she stood to her feet "I'm gonna go take a shower and just so you know I'm gonna spend as much of your money as possible"
Brax shook his head as she walked into the living room
"Go for it" he replied and chuckled as she replied him with a grunt before walking down the hall and into their room
He looked up at the door as Casey walked in "Hy" said Casey closing the door behind him with his feet and placing the brown bags in his hand down onto the dining table
"Got anything for me in there?" asked Brax and Casey nodded before throwing him a smaller brown bag. Brax looked to the coffee table then back at Casey
"You might wanna go in to Ruby, she's got some news to share"
Casey turned to Brax "What is it?" he asked
Brax nodded to the coffee table "Read that and find out"
Walking into the living room Casey picked up the envelope and took the letter out. He smiled broadly as he realized it was Ruby's acceptance letter to Study in the City
"I knew she would get in" he dropped the letter and walked down the hall and into Ruby's room to congratulate her
…
"The girls not back yet?" asked Brax as he walked into the house and dropped his keys onto the coffee table
Casey shook his head, his gaze not leaving the TV "Na but I just spoke to Ruby and she said they're on their way home"
"Ok good, cause I want to talk to you about something"
Casey's head turned at this; his peering eyes landing on Brax as he sat beside him "Err… sound serious"
Brax nodded "It is" he balanced his elbows in his thighs before speaking "We haven't had it easy this year, well… you haven't had it easy this year" Casey sat unspoken wondering where Brax was going with this "But now that everything is back on track and you're in good health don't you think you need to start thinking about what you're going to do next"
Casey shuffled in his seat; leaning forward onto his knee "Actually…" he exhaled and glanced away from Brax before Looking back at him "I've been thinking about things for a little while now" he paused
"Right, So you gonna tell me or you gonna make me guess? said Brax
Casey sat unspoken for a while longer before speaking "I err…I wasn't going to say anything and I don't want you telling Ruby or Charlie either" he looked at Brax expectantly waiting for Brax to give him some sort of indication he had heard what he said
Brax nodded
"I sort of applied to the Uni in the city… the same one Ruby's going to"
Brax cocked an eyebrow, clearly surprised by Casey's admission "You have?"
Casey nodded "Yeah I have. I know I never really seemed interested in Uni and I'm still not too sure I am but I don't want to be sat here doing nothing. But err there's something else as well"
"Ok" said Brax, waiting
"A while back I err I applied for an overseas engineering programme… in London"
"In London" Brax's voice rose but not in anger rather in shock
"Yea but I wasn't really taking it seriously, I just saw it online and I thought why not. I filled out the application form a few weeks before…" he paused and cleared his throat "Before we found out I had cancer" Brax nodded "They got back to me but I turned it down for obvious reasons"
"Why didn't you tell me or Heath? I'm guessing he didn't know either?"
Casey shook his head "Na Heath didn't know" he sighed and leaned back into the couch "And why would I tell you? I couldn't go and you were already beating yourself up about everything else. Do you really think I was gonna put that on you or Heath" Brax sighed; he knew exactly what Casey meant "I just didn't see the point, I couldn't go and I didn't want to dwell on it" added Casey
"Still I would have liked to have known. That sounds like a pretty big deal Case"
Casey shrugged dismissing it
"So what's that got to do with you going Uni now?" Asked Brax
Casey clicked his tongue "I got a call from them a few weeks ago"
"From London?" asked Brax
Casey chuckled "I'm guessing so, yeah. They called and asked where I was at the moment. You know, whether I was at Uni or had a job. Anyways they said they have a few positions left to fill and if I accept, one could be mine"
Brax sat, surprised and unsure of what to say. He simply looked at Casey for a moment before he registered the look in his younger brother's eyes; it was the same one he had seen in Ruby's when she had been speaking about not wanting to leave Casey for the city. Brax shook his head "You turned them down didn't you"
"I didn't say yes if that's what you mean" replied Casey, a frown crossing his face "I don't think it's for me" he added not wanting Brax to give him a lecture on grabbing this opportunity
"You don't think it's for you or you don't want to leave Ruby behind" Brax looked at Casey with a knowing look. He leaned back into the couch
Casey shrugged his shoulders, trying to deny it to Brax was pointless "I don't want you telling me I'm too young and all that. I want to be with her and it's gonna be a bit hard to do that if I'm on the other side of the world"
Brax shook his head; Yea, he did think they were young but he knew how much they meant to each other and he knew if it was him in that position there was no way he would be leaving Charlie "I'm not trying to give you a lecture Casey. I Just think maybe you and Ruby need to sit down and talk instead of making decisions for each other without the other knowing"
Casey's forehead creased, his eyes remaining on Brax "Decisions for each other?" he sat up a little "Has Ruby said something to you?"
Brax shrugged "I'm not telling you anything. You're gonna have to speak to her yourself"
"Seriously?" asked Casey
Brax nodded "Yes seriously"
Brax and Casey turned to the door as it opened and the smiling faces of Charlie and Ruby walked in, handed with a few bags
"I was beginning to think you guys were gonna set up camp in the city" said Brax
Charlie chucked and leaned over the couch placing a kiss on his lips "We didn't plan on staying so long but there were so many shops…"
"And so little time" finished Ruby as she slumped down on the couch in between Casey and Brax. She looked up at Casey and smiled before giving him a quick kiss. Casey smiled down at her
Brax eyed the both of them and sighed, before standing to his feet "Have you guys eaten?" he asked and Charlie and Ruby shook their heads as Charlie sat down on the couch
"No we didn't really get time" said Ruby and Casey chuckled "What?" Ruby chuckled as she hit him lightly on the chest "There was so much to see and so many sales going on it was ridiculous"
"I bet" said Casey as he looked down at the bags Ruby had placed down on the floor. He looked back up at her with a smile as he thought back to the conversation he and Brax had been having before Ruby and Charlie walked in. London wasn't an option he knew that, he just hoped he got into the University in the City, and that way he could surprise her by going with her
Charlie stood to her feet and walked into the kitchen. She smiled and wrapped her arms around Brax's waist as he closed the fridge "You miss me today?"
Brax turned in her hold and wrapped his arms around her waist "I miss you always" he placed a soft kiss on her lips. He smiled as he thought about what he had planned for her that coming weekend "How about we order some Thai and slouch in front of the TV?"
"Sounds perfect" replied Charlie
