Phil's POV

It was late and I was just putting Maddie to bed when I heard a knock on the front door. I thought to myself.

I wonder who that is at this hour.

I walked to the door and saw it was Scott.

"Hey Scott come on in. So what brings you by."

"Just wanted to see how Maddie is and to talk."

"Sure. You want something to drink."

"No I'm good. Phil listen what's going on with you and Lisa."

I stopped in my tracks I knew it was only a matter of time but someone asked me about her.

"What's makes you think something is going on with me and lisa."

"Well yesterday at the shop you were kind of giving her the cold shoulder. What I wanna know is why."

I walked over to the counter and placed my hands on it and sighed.

"Scott you wouldn't understand."

"Try me."

"Scott when I got the call that Maddie was hurt I felt like I was punched in the gut. Just the thought of her being scared and alone."

"But phil she wasn't alone lisa was there and from what I heard lisa took very good care of her."

"Yeah I know."

"So why are you shutting her out."

"I don't know. I just feel like I should have been there with Maddie maybe if I was there she wouldn't have gotten hurt."

"Phil she's a kid. All kids get hurt. But what I don't get is your freezing lisa out for helping your daughter. You can't do that. She cares about you. She loves Maddie like she was her very own."

I knew scott was right.

"Phil you have to know that lisa is amazing with Maddie. She took Maddie to hospital she stayed with her. And how was Maddie when you got to the hospital."

"She was happy. I was standing outside the room she was in and I heard her talking to lisa. And she was laughing. When I walked in they both looked at me and smiled I don't know why I froze. I don't even know how to fix this."

"Well the one and only way to fix this is Go over to lisa's and spend some time with her. I'll stay here with Maddie."

"Thanks man."

I grabbed my keys and headed over to lisa's place. I just hope I'm able to fix this.

Lisa's POV

Liz had decided to go out to a club but I just wasn't in the mood to go clubbing.

I finished loading the dishwasher and was just about to head up to bed when I heard the doorbell ring. I thought maybe liz forgot her keys again but when I opened the door and saw phil standing there holding a pink rose.

"Phil hi."

"Hey. Can I come in."

"Oh yes please come in."

I stepped aside and let phil come in.

"Here this is for you."

"Thank you it's very pretty."

I walked out into the kitchen and put the rose in a vase. When I turned around phil was leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets. He looked so gorgeous.

"I just wanted to say that I'm sorry for shutting you out."

"Phil why were shutting me out."

Gary came over to me and took my hand and took me out to the living room and we sat on the couch.

I looked into his green eyes and saw how sad he was. I started to worry all I wanted to know was why he was shutting me out. I was about to find out.

"Phil did I do something wrong."

"No you could never do anything wrong."

"Then why were you giving me the cold shoulder after you got to the hospital."

"When I got the call that Maddie got hurt I freaked out I thought she was alone and all I could think of was me not being there when she got hurt. If I was there then maybe she wouldn't have gotten hurt."

"Phil she's a little girl she's gonna get hurt from time to time."

"You know scott said the same thing."

"Well scott is very smart. Sometimes."

"Lisa were you there when she got hurt."

"No I was home. Sara called me, she was freaked out she kept saying she had been trying to call you but you weren't picking up your phone so she called me. And I rushed right over and checked on Maddie and then I took her to the hospital."

"I never thanked you for being there for her."

"Phil can I tell you something about Maddie."

"Yes."

"Your daughter is one of the most bravest little girl I have ever known. Do you wanna know how she was when I got to your house."

"How was she."

"She was scared and afraid. But at the hospital she was brave and strong. Do you wanna know where she gets that from. She gets that from her daddy."

"Me."

"Yeah. Because your strongest man I have ever met. You have to be strong cause Maddie is one rambunctious little girl infact she is just like her daddy. She loves life and it shows. The way she plays the way she talks even the way she laughs she is a little version of you. And I love that about her. Please don't take this the wrong way but I love her like she was my own. I can't imagine a day with out her."

"And she loves you to."

I meant what I said to phil I love Maddie like she was mine.

"So are we ok."

"Yeah I think we are better then ok." Phil smiled and pulled me in close to him and kissed me.

When we pulled apart we both had smiled on our faces.

"I better get home scott is with Maddie and when I left she was asleep so I bet when I get home she'll be wide awake bouncing off the walls from a sugar high."

I walked phil to the door.

"Hey I've got a great idea Maddie is spending the weekend at my mom's why don't you and me have a nice quite weekend at my place. I'll cook dinner and we can sit in front of the fire place."

"That sound like an amazing idea. Anything you want me to bring."

"Just yourself and those gorgeous lips." Phil said leaning in to kiss me.

"Hmm I think I can bring that."

I kissed him one last time and watched him leave.

I was excited to be spending the whole weekend with phil at his place and this weekend was going to be the perfect time to tell phil how I really feel about him. And maybe even more.
