A woman in black clothes and had black hair named Christina approached a bus and asked the bus driver "Hello. I'm so terribly sorry. That card paying device thing. That's a Lobster card, am I right?" The Driver corrects her "Oyster card." Christina said "Ah. Well, that's the problem, you see. I only use my Oyster when there's an 'R' in the month." The Driver stated "It's April." Christina takes off her earrings and said "Diamonds. Genuine. Drive." The Driver said "Works for me."
Christina takes her seat as both The Doctor who was wearing his brown overcoat and Rose was wearing her leather Jacket and a Magenta T-shirt board the bus and pulled out their psychic papers at the driver and he said "You both are just in time."the doors close and The bus drives off. The Doctor and Rose sit at a sear next to seat that Christina is at and the Doctor offers her a piece of his chocolate egg and said "Hello, I'm the Doctor. And this is my wife Bad wolf but she likes to be called Wolf for short. Happy Easter."
Then The Doctor said "The funny thing is, I don't often do Easter. I can never find it. It's always at a different time. Although I remember the original. Between you, me and my wife, what really happened was." Suddenly a device he created started beeping and he said "Oh. Sorry, hold on to that for me my wife wouldn't want it. Actually, go on, have it. Finish it. It's full of sugar and Me and my wife are determined to keep our teeth how they currently are." Even though they didn't need to brush their teeth it's a fact about time lords look on about Gallifreyan physiology and the Doctor grabbed his hand-held device and it lit up and the Doctor said "Ah. Oh, we've got excitation. I'm picking up something very strange."
Christina muttered "I know the feeling." Rose said "So do we." The Doctor said "Rhondium particles, that's what I'm looking for. This thing detects them. Look, this should to round, that little dish there." Christina said "Right now, a way out would come in pretty handy." She asked "Can you and your wife detect me one of those?" An African descent couple sitting a little way behind on the other side talk the female named Carmen asked her husband lou "Lou, can you hear them?" Lou asked "Hear what, sweetheart?" Carmen said "The voices. So many voices calling to us. Calling so far."
The Doctor "Ah, the little dish is going round." Christina said sarcastically as she didn't care "Fascinating." The Doctor said " And round." He said as his device made a fritz sound and zapped at the hair of a blonde woman "Whoa." The blonde woman in front brushes the sparks off her hair and said "Excuse me. Do you mind?" The Doctor appologized "Sorry. That was my little dish." Christina asked "Can't you turn that thing off?" Rose said "No he can't turn it off." The Doctor goes to Christina and what her name was "What was your name?" Christina answered "Christina." Both the Doctor and Rose said "Christina, hold on tight. Everyone, hold on!" Then all of a sudden there is a sudden jolt and everyone is thrown around and Carmen said "Oh, the voices. The voices. They're screaming." Then the Windows break and sparks fly and a young Caucasian (White) man named Nathan asked "What's going on?" Then a bright light floods the bus then more jolting.
The bus has stopped jolting and appeared on the desert panet of San helios The Doctor and Rose both goes outside, followed by Christina. and the Doctor said "End of the line. Call it a hunch, but I think we've gone a little bit further than Brixton." The sand go stretch to the horizon. A humanoid alien that looks like a fly is watching them on a monitor. It chitters to its companion.
Inside the Bus Lou said "We should get out. Even if that's the Sahara, we can't stay on board this thing." Carmen said to her husband "I'm not going out there. They're still calling. All around us. The voices are crying." Lou asked her "What voices, sweetheart?" Carmen said "The dead. We're surrounded by the dead."
Outside the bus Angela was outside the bus and stated "It's impossible. There are three suns. Three of them." Barclay a young African descent man added "Like when all those planets were up in the sky." Nathan said "But it was Earth that moved back then, wasn't it?" Barclay realized that they were on an alien planet and said "Oh, man, we're on another world." The Driver said talking about the bus "It's still intact, though. Not as bad as it looks, and the chassis's still holding together. My boss is going to murder me." Angela asked him "Can you still drive it?" The Driver said "Oh no, no, no. The wheels are stuck. Look at them, they're never going to budge."
Then Christina gets a pair of sunglasses from a rucksack and said "Christina said "Ready for every emergency." The Doctor sonics his spectacle lenses blackhe then, examines the sand grains and Rose pulls out sunglasses from the pocket of her leather Jacket and both the Doctor and Rose "Us too." Christina asked them "And what's your names?" the Doctor answered "I'm the Doctor." Rose answered "I am the Bad Wolf but you can call me wolf for short." Christina demanded "Name, not rank." the Doctor said "The Doctor." Rose answered "The Bad Wolf"
Christina asked "Surname?" the Doctor stated "The Doctor." And Rose Stated "The Bad Wolf."
Christina asked The two of you are called the Doctor and the Bad Wolf?" Both the Doctor and Rose said at the same time "Yes, we are." Christina said "Doctor's that's not a name. That's a psychological condition." the Doctor said as he examines the sand "Funny sort of sand, this. There's a trace of something else." he puts a grain of sand on his tongue to tastes it and it tasted band and he said "Glah. Not good." Christina said "Well, it wouldn't be. It's sand." the Doctor stated "No, it tastes like. Never mind." Christina asked "What is it? What's wrong?"
Barclay spoke up and said to the Time Lord "Hold on a minute. I saw you, mate. You had that thing, that machine." He then asked him "Did you make this happen?" Rose said to her husband "Oh, humans on buses, always blaming you." The Doctor said to everyone excluding rose cause she was doing the same thing as her husband was "Look, look, if you must know, me and my wife were tracking a hole in the fabric of reality. Call it a hobby. But it was a tiny little hole. No danger to anyone. Suddenly it gets big, and we drive right through it." The Driver asked "But then where is it? There's nothing. There's just sand." the Doctor said "All right. You want proof? We drove through this." He throws a handful of sand into the air and a wormhole appears both there and sand gets thrown on the other side in London.
Christina asked "And that's?" Rose said "That's a door. A door in space." The Driver asked "So what the two of you are saying is, on the other side of that is home? We can get to London through there?" the Doctor said "The bus came through, but we can't." The Driver said "Well then, what are we waiting for?" The driver runs towards the wormhole. the Doctor and Rose said at the sametime"No, no, don't." The Driver stated "I'm going home, mate!" the Doctor and Rose yelled "We said don't!" The driver enters the wormhole and screams they see him burn briefly and his smoking bones totter out of the tunnel before collapsing and Barclay said "He was a skeleton, man. He was bones. Just bones."
the Doctor said "It was the bus. Look at the damage. That was the bus protecting us. Great big box of metal." Christina asked "Rather like a Faraday cage?" Rose said "Exactly." Nathan said "Like in a thunderstorm, yeah? Safest place is inside a car, because the metal conducts the lightning right through. We did it in school." Christina asked "But if we can only travel back inside the bus?" She added "A Faraday cage needs to be closed. That thing's been ripped wide open." the Doctor said "Well, slightly different dynamics with a wormhole. There's enough metal to make it work, I think. I hope." Christina said "Then we have to drive five tons of bus, which is currently buried in the sand, and we've got nothing but our bare hands. Correct?" the Doctor said "I'd say nine and a half tons, but the point still stands, yes." Rose said "Yeah Nine and a half tonnes." Christina said "Then we need to apply ourselves to the problem with discipline. Which starts with appointing a leader." the Doctor said "Yes. At last. Thank you. So." Christina said "Well, thank goodness you've got me. Everyone do exactly as I say. Inside the bus immediately." Nathan asked "Is it safe in there?" Christina said "I don't think anything's safe any more, but if it's a choice between baking in there or roasting out here, I'd say baking is slower. Come on. All of you. Right now. And you two. The Doctor and Bad Wolf." the Doctor and Rose said "Yes, ma'am." Christina said to Barclay "Up. Come on."
After they got back inside the Bus everyone except Christina took seats and Christina said "Point five. The crucial thing is, do not panic. Quite apart from anything else, the smell of sweat inside this thing is reaching atrocious levels. We don't need to add any more. Point six. Team identification. Names. I'm Christina." She then introduced the Doctor and Rose to them "This man is apparently the Doctor and the Woman next to him is apparently called the Bad Wolf."
the Doctor and Rose waved their hands and said "Hello." Christina asked Nathan "And you?"
Nathan answered "Nathan." Barclay said "I'm Barclay." the Blonde haired woman said "Angela. Angela Whittaker." Lou said "My name's Louis. Everyone calls me Lou." he then introduced his wife "And this is Carmen." Christina said "Excellent. Memorise those names. There might be a test. Point seven. Assessment and application of knowledge. Over to you, the Doctor and Wolf."
The Doctor and Rose said "We thought you were in charge." Christina said "I am. And a good leader utilises her strength. You seem to be the brainbox. So, start boxing." the Doctor and Rose stood up and the Doctor said "Right. So, the wormhole. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time. It was just an accident." Carmen disagreed "No, it wasn't. That thing, the doorway? Someone made it for a reason. " Rose asked "How do you know?" Lou said "She's got a gift. Ever since she was a little girl, she can just tell things. We do the lottery twice a week."
Christina stated "You don't look like millionaires." Lou said "No, but we win ten pounds. Every week, twice a week, ten pounds. Don't tell me that's not a gift." Rose said "Tell me, Carmen. How many fingers am I holding up?" She has her hand behind his back and Carmen said "Three." She pulled out another finger and Carmen said "Four." the Doctor and Rose said "Very good. Low level psychic ability, exacerbated by an alien sun." The Doctor then asked her "What can you see, Carmen? Tell me, what's out there?" Carmen said "Something, something is coming. Riding on the wind, and shining." Rose asked "What is it?" Carmen stated "Death. Death is coming." Angela was panicking and said sadly "We're going to die."
Barclay added "I knew it, man. I said so." Nathan said "We can't die out here. No one's going to find us." Christina said "This isn't exactly helping." Barclay shot at her "You can shut up too. We're not your soldiers." Christina said "That's not doing any good." Lou said "Quiet." Nathan asked "Will we be bones, like the bus driver?" Christina said "Stop whimpering, all of you." the Doctor said "All right now, stop it. Everyone, stop it! Angela, look at me. Angela? Angela? Answer me one question, Angela. That's it. At me, at me. There we go. Angela, just answer me one thing." He then asked her "When you got on this bus, where were you going?" Angela said thinking that it is irrelevant "Doesn't matter now, does it?" the Doctor said "Answer the question." Angela said "Just home." Rose asked "And what's home?" Angela said "Me and Mike. And Suzanne. That's my daughter. She's eighteen." the Doctor said "Suzanne. Good." He then asked Barclay "What about you?"
Barclay said "Don't know. Going round Tina's." Rose asked "Who's Tina? Your girlfriend?" Barclay said "Not yet." the Doctor said "Good boy." He then asked Nathan "What about you, Nathan?" Nathan said "Bit strapped for cash. I lost my job last week. I was going to stay in and watch TV." Rose said "Fantastic." The Doctor asked the African skinned couple "And you two?" Lou said "I was going to cook." Carmen added "It's his turn tonight. Then I clear up." the Doctor asked "What's for tea?" Lou said "Chops. Nice couple of chops and gravy. Nothing special." the Doctor said "Oh, that's special, Lou. That is so special. Chops and gravy, mmm." The Doctor then asked Christina "What about you, Christina?" Christina said "I was going so far away." the Doctor said "Far away. Chops and gravy. Watching TV. Mike and Suzanne and poor old Tina." Barclay was offended and said "Hey." the Doctor said "Just think of them. Because that planet out there, all three suns, wormholes and alien sand, that planet is nothing. You hear me? Nothing, compared to all those things waiting for you. Food and home and people. Hold on to that, because we're going to get there. I promise. me and my wife are going to get you home."
Soon Nathan and Barclay went outside the bus to fetch seats from the bus and Barclay said "Here we go." the Doctor said"That's my boys. See, we lay a flat surface between the bus and the wormhole, like duckboards, and we reverse into it." Christina said "Let some air out of the tyres." (tire if you're American the nation, not the continent) She added "Just a little bit. It spreads the weight of the bus, gives you more grip against the sand." Rose said "Oh, that's good."
Christina stated "Holidays in the Kalahari." Barclay said "Yeah, but those wheels go deep." Christina said "Then start digging." Barclay asked "With what?" Christina said "With this."
She takes a spade from her rucksack and gives it to the Doctor who then hands it to Barclay and Rose asked "Got anything else in there?" Christina said as she take out an axe from her bag and gives it to Nathan "Try that. It might help with the seats." Nathan said "Thanks."
Angela said from inside the bus "I can't find the keys." The Doctor said "Oh no, buses don't have keys. There's a master switch, then it's one button to start, the other one to stop, yeah?" Angela said "Right. Hold on. Oh, I've got it. Here we go. Hold tight. Ding, ding." She starts the engine and graunching sounds come from it so she turns it off and both the Doctor and Rose said "Ooo, that doesn't sound too good." The Doctor, Rose and Christina look at the smoking engine at the back and the Doctor said "Oh, never mind losing half the top deck. You know what's worse? Sand. Tiny little grains of sand. The engine's clogged up." Christina asked "Anyone know mechanics?" Barclay said "Me. I did a two week NVQ at the garage. Never finished it, but-" the Doctor interrupted "Off you go, then. Try stripping the air filter. Fast as you can. Back in two ticks." Christina said as both Time Lords walk away "Wait a minute. You both are the man and Woman with all the answers. I'm not letting the two of you out of my sight."
The humanoid alien that looks like a fly watches them walk away from the bus and off into the dunes and the Doctor and Rose said "Easier if you left that backpack behind." Christina stated "Where I go, it goes." the Doctor said "A backpack with a spade and an axe." Rose asked "Christina, who's going so far away, and yet scared by the sound of a siren. Who are you?"
Christina said "You and your husband can talk. Let's just say we're the three of us have equal mysteries. Come on then. Tell me." She asked "If Carmen's right, if that wormhole's not an accident, then what is it? Has someone done this on purpose?" the Doctor said "We don't know, but every single instinct of ours are telling us to get off this planet right now." Christina asked "And do you think we can?" the Doctor said "Me and Wolf can live in hope." Christina said "That must be nice. It's Christina de Souza. To be precise, Lady Christina de Souza." the Doctor said "Ooo, that's handy, because I'm a Lord." Rose added "And I'm a Lady as well." Christina asked "Seriously? The Lord and Lady of where?" the Doctor and Rose said "It's quite a big estate."
Christina said "No, but there's something more about the two of you. Doctor, that device you were carrying, and the wormhole. Like you knew. And the way you stride around this place, like." the Doctor asked "Like?" Christina said "Like you're not quite-" the Doctor interrupted "Anyway, come on. Allons-y." Christina said "Oui, mais pas si nous allons vers un cauchemar." (which translates to Yes, but not if we go to a nightmare.)
They walk through another dune and the horizon was hazy and the Doctor said "Ah, don't like the look of that." Christina said "Storm clouds. Must be hundreds of miles away." Rose said "But getting closer." Christina said "If that's a sand storm, we'll get ripped to shreds." the Doctor said "It's a storm. Who says it's sand?" They soon run away back to the bus
As the Doctor, Rose and Christina got closer and closer to the Bus Carmen said "Closer, and closer, and closer." Rose then gives her phone to her husband and Christina said "You're hardly going to get a signal. We're on another planet." the Doctor said "Oh, just watch me. Right. Now, bit of hush, thank you. Got to remember the number, very important number." He puts the phone on speaker and types in the wrong phone number and someone on the phone said "Hello, Pizza Geronimo?"
the Doctor muttered "And again. Ah. seven six, not six seven." then on the phone a Computer said "This is the Unified Intelligence Taskforce. Please select one of the following four options. If you want to-" the Doctor said "Oh, I hate these things." Angela said "If you keep your finger pressed on zero, you get through to a real person. I saw it on Watchdog." the Doctor said "Thank you, Angela." A Woman on the other side of the phone call said and asked "UNIT helpline. Which department would you like?" the Doctor said "Listen, it's the Doctor. It's me."
at the north entrance of the Tunnel of where the bus disappeared from a UNIT soldier named Calhoon said "Captain. Urgent call, ma'am, relayed direct from HQ." A woman who helped Donna when she was in her own world in which she never met the Doctor and Rose named Magambo asked "Who is it?" Calhoon said "It's him, ma'am. It's the Doctor."
On the Bus Magambo said on the phone "Doctor, Wolf? This is Captain Erisa Magambo. Might I say, sir and ma'am" She salutes as she said "It's an honour." The Doctor and Rose asked at the same time "Did you just salute?"Magambo lied "No." the Doctor asked her "Erisa, it's about the bus. HQ said you're at the tunnel, yeah?" Magambo asked "And where are you and Wolf?"
The Doctor said "We're on the bus." Rose said as she went to look out a window of the bus "But apart from that, not a clue, except it's very pretty and pretty dangerous." Magambo said "A body came through here." She asked the Gallifreyans "Have either of you sustained any more fatalities?" the Doctor said "No, and we're not going to, but we're stuck. we haven't got the Tardis, and we need to analyse that wormhole."Magambo said "We have a scientific advisor on site. Doctor Malcolm Taylor. Just the man you need. He's a genius." the Doctor and Rose said "Oh, is he? We'll see about that."
Back on earth Magambo goes to the lab where the Scientific Advisor that is on site with her and she closed the door and said "It's the Doctor." Malcolm said thinking she was talking about him "No, I'm all right now, thanks. It was just a bit of a sore throat. Although I've got to be honest, a cup of tea might be nice." Magambo stated again "It's the Doctor." She holds out the mobile phone and Malcolm said 'Do you mean 'the Doctor' Doctor and his wife the Bad Wolf?"
On the Bus The Gallifreyans are hearing Magambo and Malcolm's conversation and rubbed their eyes as Magambo said "I know. We all want to meet him one day, but we all know what that day will bring." Both the Doctor and Rose interrupts them "We can hear everything you're saying." Malcolm said "Hello, Doctor? Hello Wolf? Oh, my goodness! the Doctor and Rose said "Yes, we are. Hello, Malcolm." Malcolm said "The Doctor. Cor blimey. I can't believe I'm actually speaking to you. I mean, I've read all the files." the Doctor was surprised and asked "Really? What was your favourite, the giant robot?" He then said "No, no, hold on. Let's sort out that wormhole. Excuse me." Rose asked "Honey When was that?" He replied "After I regenerated into my fourth incarnation." He then telepathically tent her an image of his fourth incarnation with the long scarf and Jelly babies." on the other side of the phone call Magambo said to Malcolm "On speakerphone, please. I don't want anyone keeping secrets."
the Doctor said "Malcolm, something's not making sense here. We've got a storm and a wormhole, and me and Wolf both can't help thinking there's a connection. we need a complete full range analysis of that wormhole. The whole thing." Malcolm said "Well, I've probably got the wrong idea, but I've wired up an integrator. I thought it could measure the energy signature."
the Doctor said "No. No, no, no, no, no. That'll never work. Listen." Malcolm interuppted "It's quite extraordinary, though. I'm measuring an oscillation of fifteen Malcolms per second." Rose asked as she was confused and never heard of that measurement "Fifteen what?" Malcolm said "Fifteen Malcolms. It's my own little term. A wavelength parcel of ten kilohertz operating in four dimensions equals one Malcolm." the Doctor said as he was surprised "You named a unit of measurement after yourself?" Malcolm said "Well, it didn't do Mister Watt any harm. Furthermore, one hundred Malcolms equals a Bernard." the Doctor asked "And who's that the your dad?" Malcolm said "Don't be ridiculous. That's Quatermass." the Doctor said "Right. Fine. But before me and my wife die of old age, which in our case would be quite an achievement, so congratulations on that." He then asked "Is there anyone else I can talk to?" Malcolm said "No, no, no, no, but listen. I set the scanner to register what it can't detect and inverted the image." the Doctor asked "You did what?" Malcolm asked "Is that wrong?" Rose said "No. Malcolm, that's Fantastic. So you can actually measure the wormhole." The Doctor said "Okay. We admit that is genius." Malcolm said to Magambo "The Doctor called me a genius." Magambo said "I know. I heard." the Doctor said "Now, run a capacity scan. we need a full report. Call my wife back when you've done it. And Malcolm? You're our new best friend." Malcolm responded "And the two of you are mine too. The Doctor, Rose and Christina leave the bus and Nathan is still patiently trying to dig out the wheels.
The humanoid aliens that looks like flies watch as the Doctor, Rose and Christina trudge out to the dunes again to take pictures of the approaching storm. the Doctor took a picture of the storm with Rose's phone and said to Christina "Send this back to Earth. See if Malcolm can analyse the storm." Christina noticed there was something in the storm and said "There's something in those clouds. Something shining. Look." the Doctor and Rose said "Like metal. Why would there be metal in a storm?"
Christina heard a noise that sounded like a chirp and asked "Did any of you hear something?" the Doctor said "Hold on. Busy." Christina said "There was a noise, like a sort of." She saw the humanoid fly like alien Something looks at them and Christina said "Doctor, Wolf." The humanoid fly like alien, chitters and points a weapon and The Doctor replies in clicks and chitters "That's wait. I shout wait, people usually wait." Christina asked confusedly "You speak the language?" the Doctor said said "Every language." Rose added "He also speaks baby." The Doctor chitters again and translated for Christina "That's begging for mercy."The alien gestures with its weapon and Christina knew what the alien meant "That means move." the Doctor and Rose were impressed and said "Ooo, you're learning." Christina said "These fly things, they must be responsible. They brought us here." They are taken to a wreck in the desert and the Doctor said "No, no, no, no, no. Look at the ship. It's a wreck. They crashed, just like us."
When they entered the Spaceship Christina found it freezing and she said "Oh, but this place is freezing." the Doctor said "Mmm. The hull's made of photafine steel. Turns cold when it's hot. Boiling desert outside, freezing ship inside. Since we met you, Christina, we've been through all the extremes." Christina said "That's how I like things, extreme." the Doctor said "Oh, this is beautiful. Intact, it must have been magnificent. A proper streamlined deep spacer." Christina said "I'll remember that as I'm being slowly tortured. At least I'm bleeding on the floor of a really well designed spaceship." the Two aliens chitter at them and One of them touches a round purple device on his overall and Rose and the Doctor notices it and knew what it was and Rose said "Oh, right, good. Yes. Hello. That's a telepathic translator. He can understand us."
Christina said "Still sounds like gibberish to me." the Doctor said "That's what I said. He can understand us. It doesn't work the other way round." He then starts translating for Christina "You will suffer for your crimes, etcetera. You have committed an act of violence against the Tritovore race. Tritovores. They're called Tritovores. You came here in the two hundred to destroy us." Rose asked "Sorry, what's the two hundred?" Christina said "It's the bus. Number two hundred. They mean the bus." the Doctor said "Oh. No, look, I think you're making the same mistake Christina did. I'm the Doctor, by the way the Blonde is my wife the Bad wolf, and this woman with black hair is Christina. The Honourable Lady Christina. At least me and my wife both hope she's honourable. We got pulled through that wormhole. The two hundred doesn't look like that normally. It's broken, just the same as you."
The alien then lowers his weapon and Christina asked "What are they doing?" Rose said "They believe my husband." Christina asked "What, as simple as that?" the Doctor stated "I've got a very honest face. And the translator says I'm telling the truth. Plus the face. Right. So, first things first. There's a very strange storm heading our way." He then asked the Tritovores "Can you send out a probe?" He then noticed that the Tritovore had no power and said "Oh, they've lost power. Hmm, the crash knocked the mainline crystallography out of synch. But if I can jiggle it back." He kicks the machine and it comes to life and continues "I thank you. Yes, I am. Frequently. Okey doke, let's launch that probe."
They look at an image that zooms in to the planet and the Doctor said "The Scorpion Nebula. We're on the other side of the universe. Just what you wanted. So far away. The planet of San Helios." Christina said "And that's us? We're on another world." Rose said "We have been for quite a while." Christina said "I know, but seeing it like that." Rose said "It's good, isn't it?"
Christina said "Wonderful." the Doctor said "The Tritovores were going to trade with San Helios." Population of one hundred billion. Plenty of waste matter for them to absorb."Christina said "By waste matter, you mean" Rose said "They feed off what others leave behind from their behind, if you see what I mean. It's perfectly natural. They are flies." Christina said "Charming. Both of you just remind me never to kiss them." the Doctor said "San Helios City." Christina said "That's amazing." She then asked "But you've seen this sort of thing before, haven't you?" the Doctor said "I have seen this sort of thing thousands of times." Rose said "I have not seen this as many times as my husband has."Christina asked them "Doctor that Lordship of yours. and Wolf your Ladyship. The Lord and Lady of where, exactly?" the Doctor and Rose said "Of Time. We both come from a race of people called Time Lords and Time Ladies. But those are just titles are species actual name is called Gallifreyan." Christina asked "Both of you are aliens?"
the Doctor said "Yeah. But you don't have to kiss us either." Christina said stating the obvious "You both look human." the Doctor said "You look Time Lady. We came first. Anyway."
Christina said "So if that's San Helios, all we need to do is find that city. They can help us."
the Doctor said "Me and Wolf don't think it's that simple. We're in the city right now." Christina said "But it's sand." She then asked "That first image, the temples and things, what's that then, ancient history?" The alien chitters and Rose said "The image was taken last year." Christina said "It became a desert in one year?" the Doctor said "I said there was something in the sand. The city, the oceans, the mountains, the wildlife, and a hundred billion people turned to sand. All those voices in Carmen's head. She's hearing them die." Christina said as she touched her hair to get sand out of her hair as she was disgusted "But I've got sand in my hair. That's dead people. Oh, that's disgusting. Oh." the Doctor said "Something destroyed the whole of San Helois." Christina added "Yes, but in my hair." Rose's phone rings and She said "Malcolm, tell me the bad news." On the phone Malcolm said "Oh, you are clever. It is bad news. It's the wormhole, Wolf. It's getting bigger. We've gone way past one hundred Bernards. I haven't invented a name for that." Rose asked "How can it get bigger by itself?" Malcolm said "Well, that's why I'm phoning. You and your husband can work it out, if I know you and him." Magambo said "Doctor, we estimate the circumference of your invisible wormhole is now four miles heading upwards. I've grounded all flights above can't risk anyone else falling through." Rose said "Good work, both of you." Magambo asked "But I have to know. Does that wormhole constitute a danger to this planet?" there was a Beeping sound and she said
"Oh, sorry. Call waiting. Got to go." She hanged up the phone and the Doctor asked her "What's going on, honey?" Rose said "The wormhole is getting bigger on earth." The Doctor said Oh Rassilon." Rose said "Yeah I know." Nathan phoned Rose and Rose said as she answered the phone "Yeah?" Nathan said "Wolf ,it's Nathan. We got those duckboard things down, but-"
Angela said "It's my fault." Nathan reassured her "No, it's not. Don't say that." Rose asked "Why, what's happened?" Nathan said "We kept on turning the engine, but, we're out of petrol. Used it all up. Even if we can get those wheels out Nathan this bus is never going to move." Christina asked "What is it, what's wrong? Wolf, tell me and your husband." Nathan said "You and your husband both promised you'd get us home. Wolf? Are you still there?" She then hanged up the phone.
Christina said"tell me. What did he say?" the Doctor said "It's the probe. It's reached the storm." Christina asked "And what's he saying?" the Doctor said "It's not a storm." They saw an An image of stingrays flying through the air and Christina said "It's a swarm. Millions of them." the Doctor corrects her "Billions." The image disappeared and he said "Oh, we've lost the probe. I think it got eaten. Everything on this planet gets eaten." Christina asked "How far away is that swarm?" the Doctor said "A hundred miles. But at that speed, it'll be here in twenty minutes. No, no, no, they're not just coming for us. They want the wormhole." Christina asked "They're heading for Earth?" the Doctor said "Show the analysis." an image of one of the flying stingrays popped up and he said "Incredible. They swarm out of a wormhole, strip the planet bare, then move on to the next world. Start the life cycle all over again." Christina said "So, they make the wormholes?" the Doctor said "They must do." Christina asked as she was confused how the flying swarm of stingrays created the wormhole "But how? They don't exactly look like technicians. And if the wormhole belongs to them, why are they a hundred miles away?" the Doctor said "Because they need to be? No, that's bonkers. Hang on. Yes. Oh, do you see? Billions of them, flying in formation, all around the planet. Round and round and round, faster and faster and faster, till they generate a rupture in space. The speed of them, and the numbers, and the size, all of that rips the wormhole into existence." Christina asked "And the wormhole's getting bigger?" Rose said "Because they're getting closer." Christina asked "But how do they get through? Because that wormhole's a killer. We've seen it." the Doctor said as they looked at the monitor of the flying stingrays "No, no, no, look. See the exoskeleton." Christina asked "Metal?" the Doctor explained "They've got bones of metal. They eat metal and extrude it into the exoskeleton. So their velocity makes the wormhole, then their body makes it safe. Perfect design." Christina said "Those things are going to turn the entire Earth into a desert." She noticed that the Doctor and Rose were smiling and asked them "So why exactly are the two of you smiling?" the Doctor said "Worse it gets, the more we love it." Christina agreed "Me too."
Then Christina said "The thing is, Doctor and Wolf, you both are missing the obvious. We came here through the wormhole, yes? But our Tritovore friends didn't. They came here to trade with San Helios. Therefore, the question is, why did they crash?" the Doctor and Rose agreed "Ah, good question." The Doctor asked the tritovores "Like she said, why did you crash?"
The Tritovores take them to the engine room which had a large hole in the spaceship and the Doctor said "Oh, yes. Gravity well. Look, goes all the way down to the engine. So what happened? He says the drive system stalled. Ten miles up, they fell out of the sky. But what caused that?" the tritovore shrugged and Christina said "Which means no idea." Rose said "But wait a minute. That's a crystal nucleus down there, yes? And it looks like it survived the crash. If the crystal's intact? Oh, yes. That's better than diesel." Christina asked "What, you can use the crystal to move the bus?" the Doctor said "we think so. The spaceship's a write-off, but the two hundred's small enough." Christina asked "How does a crystal drive a bus?"
the Doctor said "In a super clever outer-spacey way. Just trust me. There's the crystal! It's fallen to the bottom of the well. Have you got access shafts? All frozen? Well, maybe I can open them." he found three wireless comms and said "Ah! Internal comms. Put that on." The Doctor hands Christina one of the bluetooth units and the Doctor said to Christina "You stay here. Keep an eye on the shaft. Tell us if anything happens."Christina sits at the edge of the gravity well and looks down as the Doctor and Rose both ran back through the spaceship.
the Doctor said "If I can use that sunlight to start the automatic maintenance." He grunts and continues As he said "Christina? If you see a panel opening in that shaft, let me know." He then plugs in two parts of a cable.
In the engine room Christina is buckling on a harness and said "Nothing yet."
In the other room the Doctor asked as he does the same thing again "Anything now?"
In the engine room Christina answered "Afraid not."
The Doctor continues to connect various cables together and asked "Any sign of movement?"
In the engine room Christina said "Nope."
In the other room the Doctor asked as he continues plugging in the cables "How's that?"
In the engine room Christina is setting up an abseil rope and is not even looking down the shaft to check and said "Nothing."
In the other room the Doctor asked as he plugs in two other cables together "Any result?"
In the Engine room Christina has her abseil rigged up and she said "Not a dickie bird. So let me get this right." She added "You and your wife need that crystal? Then consider it done."
In the other room the Doctor asked "Why, what do you mean?" He then blows into one of the cables and yelled her name and ran towards the engine room along with Rose "Christina? Christina!"
In the Engine room Christina said "The aristocracy survives for a reason." She saw the Doctor and Rose running towards her and said "The three of us are ready for anything." Christina dives into the shaft just as the Doctor and Rose both ran towards the gravity well and the Doctor shouts "No!" The Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver on Christina's her abseil pulley to stop and said "the Doctor: Come on. Come on, come on, come on." As Christina got halfway down she stopped and he said "That's better." Christina said "I decide when I stop, thank you." The Doctor said "You're about to hit the security grid. Look." She looks down underneath her and saw a lot of energy crackling across the shaft and said "Excellent." She then asked "So what do I do?"
Rose suggested "Try the big red button." Christina presses the big red button that is in front of her and the security grid goes out and she said "Well done." the Doctor said "Now come back up. I can do that." Christina said "Oh, don't you wish." Rose said "Slowly." Christina said before continuing to descend downwards more with her head going down first "Yes, ma'am."
the Doctor and Rose notices Christina's bag and said "Quite the mystery, aren't you? Lady Christina de Souza, carrying a winch in her bag." Christina said "No stranger than the two of you, spaceman and spacewoman." the Doctor and Rose recalled the times the spent with Donna before the Doctor had to erase her memory of them and they said "We had this friend, once. She called us spaceman and spacewoman." Christina asked "And was she right? Do the two of you zoom about the place in a rocket?" Rose said "Well, a little blue box. Travels in more than space. It can journey through time, Christina. Oh, the places we've been. World War One. Creation of the universe. End of the universe. The war between China and Japan." The Doctor looks in Christina's bag and saw a unique goblet that he knew where it was from he showed it to rose and she was shocked and the Doctor said "And the Court of King Athelstan in 924 AD. But we don't remember you being there. So what are you doing with this?" Christina said "Excuse me. A gentleman never goes through a lady's possessions." the Tritovore that is with him and Rose chirps and whats to know what it is and the Doctor explained what it was "It's the Cup of Athelstan, given to the first King of Britain as a coronation gift from Hywel, King of the Welsh. But it's been held in the International Gallery for two hundred years, which makes you, Lady Christina, a thief." Christina said "I like to think I liberated it." Rose said "Don't tell me and my husband that you need the money." Christina said "Daddy lost everything. Invested his fortune in the Icelandic banks." the Doctor disagreed "No, no, no, no, no. If you're short of cash, you rob a bank. Stealing this? That's a lifestyle." Christina said "I take it that both of you disapprove?"
the Doctor said "We both Absolutely disapprove. Except. That little blue box, I stole it from my own people." Christina said "Good boy." then suddenly she heard a screeching sound and asked "What the blazes was that?" the Doctor said "We never did find out why the ship crashed. Christina, I think you should come back up." Rose agreed "Yeah Christina I agree with my husband on this you should come back up." Christina said as she saw the crystal "Too late. I can see it." the Doctor said "Careful. Slowly." Rose asked the tritovore " Have you got an open-vent system?" The Tritovore chitters a response and the Doctor said "we thought so." Christina asked "What does that mean?" Rose explained "It's like when birds fly into the engines of an aircraft." Christina is within touching distance of the crystal when she sees a steel stingray through the girders and said "One of the creatures." the Doctor said "It got trapped in the vents, caused the crash."Rose said " Christina, get out." Christina said "It's not moving. I think it's injured." the Doctor disagreed "No, it's dormant because it's so cold down there, but your body heat is raising the temperature." Christina said "I tend to have that effect." she said as she touched the crystal "Almost there." the Doctor said as he stood up "Not just the crystal. we need the whole bed, the plate thing." Christina struggles getting the plate along with the crystal and soon she graabbed both parts and exclaimed "I've got it!" Rose sonics the pulley to pull her up fast, just as the stingray moves. Rose muttered as the stingray followed Christina as she ascended back up "Come on, come on. Come on, come on, come on, come on." The Doctor added "It's going to eat its way up." As Christina passes the big red button she presses it to reactivates the security grid on her way past and the stingray gets zapped and both the Doctor and Rose said " Ooo, she's good." Then Christina returns to the top of the shaft and the Doctor said as he helps her up "That's it, that's it, that's it. I've got you. I've got you." the Tritovore chitters and the Doctor said "Isn't she just."
After the Doctor got Christina out of her harness he, Rose, Christina, and the tritovore ran through the hallways back to the main room and said as he approached the other tritovore "Commander? Mission complete. Now, we've got to get back to the two hundred, all of us." the Tritovore chirrped a protest and the Doctor said "Oh, don't be so daft. A captain can leave his ship, if there's a bus standing by." Then suddenly they heard a rumbling sound and Christina asked "What the hell was that? Is this place safe?" She realized that it was the stingray and said "It's the creature. It's not dead." The tritovores chirrped and Rose said to Christina "Maybe you didn't hit just one of them. If you hit a swarm?' Christina asked "Do you mean if there's more on board?" the Doctor said "This ship's built inside a metal sleeve. They can move through the infrastructure, all around us. And those things wake up hungry. Commander, you've got to come with us right now." Christina said "Come back to Earth. We'll find you a home." the Doctor said "And that's the word of a lady. Come on." One of the Tritovores goes to a control panel. The stingray appears and eats him, then the Commander raises his weapon and both the Doctor and Rose said "No, don't." And the commander gets eaten too then the Doctor said "There's nothing we can do. Run!"
As the Doctor, Rose and Christina were running back to the bus through the sand dunes Malcolm phones Rose "Wolf?" Rose said as she hung up the phone immediately "Not now, Malcolm!"
As they got back to the bus Nathan said "At last. Where have the two of you been?" the Doctor said "Get inside. Get them sitting down." Rose said "Now then, let's have a look". Christina asked "So what does that crystal do?" the Doctor said "Oh, nothing. Don't need the crystal". He throws it away and Christina said "Oh, I risked my life for that." the Doctor said "No, no. You risked your life for these." He ran and said "The clamps!" He magnetically attach to the wheels and said as he attached them to the wheels "One there. One there. One there. And one there."
As they got in the Bus Christina asked "But what are the clamps for? Do they turn the wheels?" the Doctor said "Yeah, something like that." Rosethen said "My husband just needs to fix it." She asked "Have you got a hammer in that bag?" (usually whenever I hear the word hammer I think of the hammer and sickle which is the symbol for communism I just don't know why maybe it's because of my interest in history) Christina said as she grabbed a hammer out of her bag "Funnily enough." Rose grabs her phone from her pocket and Rose presses redial and The Doctor fixes the rest of the crystal assembly to the steering wheel as she did that and she put her phone on her husband's ear and the Doctor said "Malcolm, it's me." on the phone Malcolm said "I'm ready." the Doctor asked "Ready for what?" Malcolm said "I don't know. You tell me." The Doctor said "I'm going to try to get back. But listen, there might be something following us. You need to close the wormhole. Would that be a compressed burst of feedback on a counter-oscillation, perchance?" the Doctor said as he was impressed "Oh, Malcolm, you're the Doctor brilliant." Malcolm said "Coming from you, sir, that means the world." Magambo said on the phone "Doctor, what sort of something? That wormhole is now measuring ten miles and growing. I need to know the exact nature of the threat." the Doctor said as he hung up his wife's phone "Sorry, got to go."
As the Doctor continued working on the thing he put on the steering wheel and soon it crackled and said "Oh, it's not compatible. Bus, spaceship, spaceship, bus. I need to weld the two systems together." Christina asked "And how do you do that?" the Doctor said "I need something non-corrosive. Something malleable. Something ductile." He looked at Christina and stated "Something gold." Christina knew what he was thinking about and protested "Oh no you don't." Rose said "Christina, what is it worth now?" Barclay said as he showed them his wristwatch "Hey, hey, use this." the Doctor told him "I said gold." Barclay stated " It is gold." the Doctor said "Oh, they saw you coming. Christina!" Barclay returns to his seat, and Christina reluctantly takes the Cup from her bag and said "It's over a thousand years old, worth eighteen million pounds. Promise me you'll be careful." the Doctor said "I promise." Then the Doctor starts smashing the goblet with the hammer and Christina said "Doctor, I hate you."
A few moments later the Doctor said "This is your driver speaking. Hold on tight." Barclay asked "But what for? What's he doing?" Rose said "Do as he says." Christina asked "What are you doing?" The Doctor fires up the bus and said "Come on. That's it. You can do it, you beauty. One last trip." Then The bus rises out of the sand and into the air and Barclay said in disbelief "Ah, you are so kidding me." Nathan said "We're flying. It's flying." Lou said "He's flying the bus."
Angela couldn't believe it and said "It's a miracle." the Doctor stated "Anti-gravity clamps. Didn't I say? Round we go." The Doctor rotates the bus and Carmen said as she saw the stingrays fly towards them "Doctor,Wolf, they're coming." Christina asked "Do the two of you think this thing will survive the journey back?" the Doctor said "Only one way to find out. Next stop." Rose and Christina finishes "Planet Earth!" The Doctor drives the bus into the wormhole, closely followed by the swarm and Everyone is screaming as it shakes, then as it comes out of the tunnel in London it flies up into the air and Barclay exclaimed "It's London!" Angela was happy as well and said "We're back home." Nathan exclaimed "He did it. He did it!" They soon started hearing guns firing bullets and Rose took out her phone and redialed Malcolm and gave it to her husband and he put it on his ear and said "Malcolm, close that wormhole." Malcolm said "Yes, sir. My pleasure, sir." Malcolm hung up the phone and the Doctor said "He's hung up on me." the Doctor redials Malcolm with his wife's phone and said "Malcolm?" Malcolm said as he hung up the phone again "Not now, I'm busy." the Doctor said "He's hung up again." He redials Malcolm again with his wife's phone and said "Malcolm, listen to me." Malcolm said "It's not working."
the Doctor said Me and my wife both need that signal. We've got billions of those things about to fly through." Malcolm asked "Well, what do I do?" the Doctor said "Loop it back through the integrator, and keep the signal ramping up." Malcolm asked "But by how much?" the Doctor exclaimed "Five hundred Bernards. Do it now!" Malcolm said "Yes!" Then Malcolm did as he was told on his computer and the wormhole collapses at both ends and Malcolm said "Yes!"
Nathan said as a stingray comes towards them "Doctor, Wolf it's coming for us." the Doctor and Rose looked behind them and saw what nathan and everyone else saw and the Doctor said "Oh no, you don't." The Doctor turns the bus causing it to hit the stingray. soon the guns they heard stopped firing and Christina said Doctor, did I say I hated you? I was lying." Christina hugs the Doctor and the rest of the passengers applaud and the Doctor said "Do not stand forward of this point. Ladies and gentlemen, you have reached your final destination. Welcome home, the mighty two hundred."
The Doctor lands the bus at the north entrance of the tunnel and UNIT applauds. The passengers disembark and Calhoon said "Welcome back. If you could step away from the bus, just to be safe. As fast as you can, thank you. It's standard procedure. We need to screen you and then you'll all be taken to debriefing." The Doctor and Rose both flashes their psychic papers and said "We don't count." Christina said "No, but Doctor, Wolf?" Calhoon said to Christina "With me, thank you." Malcolm goes to meet the Doctor and Rose and said "Doctor, Wolf." the Doctor and Rose said "You must be Malcolm." Taylor hugs the Doctor and Rose and said to them "Oh. Oh. I love the both of you. I love you both . I love you two." Magambo said to Malcolm "To your station, Doctor Taylor." Malcolm said as he left "Yes, ma'am. I love you two."
Magambo said to the Doctor and Rose "Doctor, Wolf, I salute the both of you whether you both like it or not. Now, I take it we're safe from those things?" the Doctor said "They'll start again. Generate a new doorway." Rose added "It's not their fault, it's their natural life cycle." The Doctor said "But we'll see if we can nudge the wormholes on to uninhabited planets. Closer to home." He then looked at Barclay and Nathan and said "Captain. Those two lads. Very good in a crisis. Nathan needs a job, Barclay's good with engines. You could do a lot worse." Rose added "Privates Nathan and Barclay, UNIT's finest." Magambo said "I'll see what I can do. And I've got something for the both of you." They turned around and saw the Tardis was being unloaded from a truck and the Doctor said "Better than a bus, any day. Hello." Magambo said "Found in the gardens of Buckingham Palace." Rose said "Oh, she doesn't mind." Magambo said "Now, I've got three dead alien stingrays to clear up. I don't suppose either of you fancy helping with the paperwork?" the Doctor and Rose said "Not a chance." Magambo said "Till we meet again, Doctor and you too Wolf." the Doctor said "We hope so." The Geiger counter registers on Christina and she said as she was getting annoyed of it "That's quite enough of that."
Christina ran to the Doctor and Rose A police detective officer named Macmillan said "She is not getting away this time." Christina said to the gallifreyans "Little blue box, just like the two of you said. Right then. Off we go. Come on, Doctor and Wolf, show me the stars." the Doctor and Rose said together "No." Christina was confused and said "What?" the Doctor said "We said no." Christina stated "But I saved both of your lives. And you both saved mine." Rose asked "So?" Christina said "We're surrounded by police. I'll go to prison." the Doctor said "Yeah." Christina said "But Doctor, you were right. It's not about the money. I only steal things for the adventure, and today with you. I want more days like this. I want every day to be like this." She found out that they were not going for it and asked "Why not?" the Doctor said "People have travelled with us and we've lost them. Lost them all. Never again." Macmillan reached them and said to Christina "Lady Christina de Souza. Oh, I have waited a long time to say this. I am arresting you on suspicion of theft. You do not have to say anything, etcetera, etcetera. Dennison, take her away." Christina leaves in handcuffs and Carmen said Wolf? You and your husband both take care now." Rose said "You too. Chops and gravy, lovely." Carmen said "No, but you be careful. Because your song is ending, ma'am." Rose asked "What do you mean?"
Carmen said "It is returning. It is returning through the dark. And then, Wolf? Oh, but then he will knock four times." Both the Doctor and Rose knew who she was talking about: The Master but it was actually Wilfred and Just as Christina is about to be put into a police car, the Doctor sonics her handcuffs. She gets in one side and opened and got out the other door she ran towards the bus and Dennison shouted to her "Oi!" Macmillan and Dennison started chasing Christina and the Doctor and Rose both Walked to the bus and MacMillan shouted "Stop that woman! Stop that woman! Stop her. Don't just stand there, stop her." Christina runs onto the bus and shuts the doors in front of the police officers and Macmillan said "Open the door. I'll add resisting arrest." the Doctor and Rose said "I'd step back, if I were you." Macmillan said "I'm charging the two of you too. Aiding and abetting." the Doctor said "Yes. Me and my wife we'll just step inside this police box and arrest ourselves." the two Gallifreyans walked back to their Tardis and Macmillan ordered Christina to get out of the bus "Out! now!" Christina starts the bus, and it goes upwards and Macmillan shouted "No! Come back!" Angela said to Christina "Go on." Christina opened the Doors of the bus as it reached and Hovered over the Tardis and said "Doctor, Wolf, The three of us could've made a great team." The Doctor and Rose said "We were." As Christina flew away with the Bus both The Doctor and Rose entered their tardis and it dematerialized.
