This definitely wasn't my best chapter but I was so excited to get started on my next idea that I needed to post something, right? A big shout out to sweetkiwi604 who threw amazing ideas at me for future chapters :)

As always, thank you all for continuing to read and review! Love you!

Dude, it's totally your turn to do the laundry! I did it last time, Sammy!

Sam slowly put his pointer finger up to his lips, motioning for his grinning niece to be quiet as they stalked through the hallway armed with cooking utensils and armored with aluminum foil. Natalie tiptoed along, right on his heels, and occasionally peered around her Uncle Sam's legs to get a better look at the Sock Monster's lair.

Oh, it was a filthy, linty place - a fabric graveyard!

Natalie gasped at the very sight of it.

The horror! The carnage! The plague!

And the worst part was, strewn across the floor...were single socks with their pairing nowhere in sight!

"Where'd they all go, Uncle Sammy?" Her voice trembled in disbelief.

Her Uncle's aluminum breastplate rattled as he shuffled back into the hallway to evaluate the situation with her. "This is the plan, possum: we're gonna go in there gun's blazin'. We're gonna find that Sock Monster and we're gonna stick him right back in the washing machine."

Natalie's innocent eyes grew wide in curiosity and morbid fascination. "Why the washing machine?"

"Since the Sock Monster only kidnaps his prey while he's living in the dryer, we gotta stick him in the washing machine so he'll get a mouthful of soap to change his ways."

"Just like when daddy washed my mouth out with soap when I drank his juice?"

Stifling a laugh, Sam nodded. "Yeah, honey, just like that. You with me?" He held out his fist. Natalie bumped it with her own, a cheshire grin spreading wide across her mouth as an affirmative. Sam poked his head around the corner and into the laundry room, looking back at her and saying in a hushed voice, "The Sock Monster's sitting on a big pile of clothes, we're both gonna run in, pick him up with the clothes and throw him into the washer. On the count of three. One...two...THREE!"

Sam watched as Natalie ran ahead of him and threw her arms out and squatted as she tried to envelop the pile of clothes in her small arms.

"Hurry, Uncle Sam! He's getting away!"

With one large motion, Sam scooped up his niece as well as the clothing and held her over the washing machine, watching as she threw the clothes in and slammed the door.

"Can you hear him in there, Uncle Sammy?" She craned her neck up to see his face clearer.

"'I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you pesky kids!'" Sam said in a gruff, cracked voice sending Nat into a fit of giggles.
