Justin sat at a desk, writing on a sheet of paper. His desk was littered with notes and trash from various classes; the current semester and the last. He felt the cold air pierce his skin, his shirt doing little to protect him from the outside tundra weather. He looked stressed, but there was a smile on his face.
With a heavy sigh, he stopped writing on the paper, putting it in a notebook, before pulling out his laptop. He smiled as he typed in the url for Fanfiction.
There was a message from a friend, an odd coincidence, given that he had just made up his mind on what he was about to do. He quickly went and sent them a brief message, declaring the coincidence.
He then turned to Doc Mangager, and went to edit the document. Sure enough, UCB stood there with nearly a year left before it was deleted, as if it knew he would return; for a send off, if nothing else.
Justin blinked, and smiled again, as he began to edit the document.
"So, it's been a while." He stated, looking up towards the monitor.
"I'm sure you can tell by the title, and yep. This is it- for UCB at least. Allow me to explain what I did wrong.
"First off, Ultimate betrayal was made on a whim. It was nearly 5 years ago where I read my first 'Ash Betrayal' Story, and I really liked it. Thought I would take a shot and see what I could do. I didn't have any idea what I was doing, back then. I had no plans, no nothing for where the story would go. Heck, up until Abel's Arc, every chapter was made up then and there, on a whim! I didn't truly begin to care for the story until I started working on the original characters.
"Which leads me to my next point." Justin declared, looking away, towards his phone.
"I want to start again. Not with Ash, not as a 'Betrayal Story' but with Micheal. With Caleb, and Abel, and Aubree- Given, of course, that the creator of Abel allows him to be here. I believe Caleb's creator will have no issue with me using him, even if it's been a while since we talked." Justin gave off a wink, knowing his friend would read this at some point.
"That said, the story won't edge too far off from what the plot of Ultimate Betrayal was becoming. But it will be different, obviously. No Ash, no 'self inserts' on characters. Just it's own, original, fan story about Pokemon.
"I want to work on my character development, and with over eight main characters, and like ten main villains, it was particularly hard to do. I mean, look at all of the non original characters, there was little to no development, and UCB was nearly over! Like what? What kind of half baked story was I winging?
"Of course, I know first hand how awful it is to not finish a story, so Im putting this out right here: If anyone wants to see the story complete, or wants to start it over because they believe they can do it better, they have my full permission. Unfortunately, I don't have any of the files for any of the old chapters- This is like my 3rd computer the story has been made on, so I leave that up to you. Alternatively, if anyone just wants to understand how the story ends, I will provide a semi long summary detailing the last of UCB and Ultimate Revenge."
Justin took a heavy sigh, and looked towards the ceiling. "College is still kicking me sideways, so I don't know how long updates on my new story will take, but trust me that they will be good."
He stood up, and stretched. "Well, I'm off. Until we meet again, look out for 'Stars of Genzu'
Justin clicked save, and then publish. He then grabbed his backpack, and briskly walked out the door, ready for the new day to begin, as the sun shined through the curtains, illuminating the dark room.
Story End.
