((thank you.))

As soon as Mai heard what the man said she knew that he had Naru's total and undivided attention. Gene's death had been haunting him for years and he still woke up from nightmares about not knowing who it was that took his brother from him. While Mai had never known the physical Gene, she'd grown to love her husband's twin as if he was her own brother. She wanted to know who killed him too, but Naru was a man possessed.

She pulled back trying to get her husband to follow her but she knew it was useless. He was rooted to his spot.

"I can tell you her name. I can take you to her." The man who called Naru nephew continued. "I can let you watch the light fade from her eyes, all you have to do is give it to me." He sounded so smooth. So tempting. If Mai didn't know better she'd have sworn that this man was the devil himself..

"ENOUGH!" She yelled, she knew that while he might be able to deliver the things he promised, it wasn't worth Naru's soul. She loved him too much to let him damn himself for eternity. She also knew that he was capable of killing whomever it was that had killed Gene all those years ago. She loved him too much to let him loose his soul.

Her captor looked at her for a moment and Naru shook his head as if waking up from a dream. The look he gave her was pure evil and Mai knew than that she had to get them out of here. This man was a killer. Her blood ran cold at the thought.

"Naru, please Naru!" She was pleading. Fresh tears ran down her face. Her husband looked at her and blinked as if he was waking up from a dream.

"Mai.."He sounded tired and her heart was breaking. She wanted to throw her arms around him and cry for everything that they had been through these last few days. She just had to get him to walk out that door. She leaned in as if to kiss him and as she could feel his breath on her lips she felt her self pulled from behind. Naru reached for her but she was dragged back. She let out a scream but found her back pinned to their tormentor. His right arm wound around her waist like a vice, his left holding the athemay from the alter to her neck. She closed her eyes and swallowed hard in an attempt to quell her fear.

She was terrified. The tip of the knife pressed to her throat painfully. She didn't want to be anywhere near this man, but she had to keep her wits about her or she'd be used against Naru. If he lost control it was all over. She looked him in the eyes and attempted to gauge his mental condition. He was hanging on by a thread.

Lin yanked Madoka down the stairs and the rest followed. The shock of having seen Bernard, their long time employee for who he really was had shaken the Davis's but they came along silently. When they reached the door Hosho threw himself towards his wife and enveloped her in his arms. The three men hurried the women they loved away from the house of horrors and towards the waiting car. Once they were all in, the former monk behind the wheel he let out an ear splitting whistle and five blinding bursts of light went zipping through the car. The screen and camera that had been used to track them were broken in a second and anything else that could have been used to track them was broken.

He closed the door on Madoka and nodded at Takigawa. Ayako, Martin and Luella watched him wide eyed from the back seat as they drove away. Lin allowed himself the luxury of watching them drive away for a moment. He could hear his girlfriend demanding that they turn around and return but this had been decided by the three men the night before.

Once he was sure that they were safe he walked back towards the house and started up the steps. When he was almost to the front door he felt it.

The ground beneath his feet began to shake. Momentarily loosing his balance he regained his footing and bolted to the front door.

He only knew of one thing powerful enough to move the very earth.

If Noll had lost control then everyone was in danger.

"Get of of her!" He yelled at his uncle. He would allow no one to hurt his wife. While he wanted to know who it was that killed Gene, the sight of the blood welling from the knife tip at Mai's throat was enough to drive him mad. As he began to lose control the ground began to shake.

It had been a decade since Oliver had involuntarily poltergeisted, but it was happening now. Pieces of furniture began to float and then fly around the room. They were tossed around like leaves from the wind that was emanating from him. A chair smashed against a white column. A book shelf was dashed against a wall, the splinters flying everywhere.

"I said LET HER GO!" The voice coming from his mouth was not one he recognized. If his uncle hurt Mai it would be the very last thing he did. He took a step closer and was shocked when he heard laughter.

"Oh, wonderful. Oh Ouji, you've surpassed even my wildest dreams. So much power. Just think about what we could do together. After you avenge your brother's death you could seek out those who hurt you. How many night did you spend in the orphanage alone, crying because the other kids tormented you. How many times did you wish you could make them pay. All those nights crying in your bed. What about all those people who thought you were the less desireable brother. Just because you were smarter. I'll let you in on a secret Ouji, you were always my favorite."

His head swam and his heart ached. It was true. How many times had he wished that he had just been understood. He had even been scared that Mai couldn't possibly love him. So many lonely nights in the orphanage. Crying after everyone went to bed at night because even thought Gene was there he felt so alone. Gene couldn't be with him every second of every day. The people in England looking askance at him, the orphan. Martin's new sons, no one knew if they were adopted because of their gifts or in spite of them.

"I can help you make them pay." His mouth went listening to Akuma. He wasn't anyone's favorite. He heard a whimper and came back to his body a bit. He was someone's favorite. He was Mai's favorite. He was Eugene's father, not Gene. His son smiled whenever he saw him. He couldn't allow old pain to ruin his life. He reached out to pull Mai to him and just that fast his uncle pushed her to the side, whipping out with his hand and grabbing him. The knife sliced across his palm lightening quick.

"What the.." his question hung in the air. The wind still raged, but something else stirred. The blood welled from the wound and began to fall towards the seal he only just now realized he was standing on.

"NO!" Oliver hear Lin screaming over the wind but it was too late.

As soon as his blood his the seal it flared bright blue. The wind increased and the ground shook even more. All the while his uncle began to laugh and laugh.

What had just happened? He looked at Mai and her eyes were wide in fear. What had he done..
