Chapter 36
A month and a half later
"Well, Karev, what's the verdict?" Mark asked staring at the younger man through sleep-deprived eyes. It was two AM and he felt like he had just left the hospital only to have to come back yet again. For all intents and purposes he was basically living in the hospital these days.
Karev looked up at Mark from what he was doing and announced. "Braxton Hicks, Sloan, you're a doctor I'm sure I don't have to explain it to you." he answered him glibly. Addison lay on the table in front of him with her feet in the stirrups.
"Karev, are you sure?" Addison asked him. She had been having contractions on and off since the day before, but she just wrote them off as Braxton Hicks. She didn't panic until she had gotten up to pee and found a small amount of blood in her panties. Being an OB she knew that spotting like that was normal, but this was her first pregnancy and she hadn't thinking like an OB.
"Montgomery, your cervix isn't dilated, you're not effaced, and the placenta and amniotic sack are both intact. I'm positive that you're not in labor, trust me." Alex assured her.
Addison groaned she didn't care that she was only eight months pregnant she was ready to have this boy out of her. "Then what caused the spotting, Alex?" she asked him. She more or less knew what had caused it, but she was testing him.
"Is the baby ok, Karev?" Mark asked him before he had a chance to answer Addison's question.
"He is fine, Sloan, he has a good strong heartbeat and he doesn't show any signs of being in distress. Addison, you know that spotting is normal in at least thirty percent of all pregnancies." Alex answered both of their questions.
"Why are we letting him do this exam and not an actual OB?" Mark addressed that question at Addison.
"Because I trained him myself and I know that he can be trusted." Addison explained to him.
"I still don't like him looking at your vagina even if it is just in a medical way." Mark more or less pouted.
"Mark, at this point I don't care, I just want this boy out of me." Addison told him sighing.
"Red, it's too soon for him to come you know that. The last thing I need is another baby in the NICU to worry about." Mark reasoned with her. He rubbed her belly protectively. "Peanut, you're staying right where you are until you're full term, daddy needs you to do that for him."
Karev picked up the ultrasound gel and squirted it on Addison's belly. "Sloan, look at the monitor." He told Mark as he moved the ultrasound wand around. "See? There is the heartbeat and he is moving around like crazy." He saw Mark breathe a sigh of relief. He didn't blame the guy for being worried after what he had just gone through.
"Karev, warn me next time, that shit is really cold." Addison shrieked at him.
"Well, I was trying to keep your boyfriend from flipping his shit." Karev pointed out, only to receive a glare from Addison.
"Karev, don't provoke the pregnant woman." Mark warned him.
Before Alex could frame a reply the door to the exam room open and Dr. Lucy Fields walked in. "Dr. Karev, I'm the OB on call, when a patient comes in you page me." she barked at him not bothering to pay attention to who else was in the room.
"Not if the patient in question is my patient I don't." Alex shot back snappishly.
"I'm a fellow you're a resident that means I outrank you. Now, tell me what we've got." Lucy ordered him.
"I don't have to tell you anything this is my patient." Alex maintained.
"Karev, if she wants to do an exam so badly let her." Addison spoke up.
Lucy's face paled, the last thing she needed to do was make herself look like a complete idiot in front of her boss. "Dr. Montgomery, I didn't realize that you were Dr. Karev's patient. I'm sure that Dr. Karev has performed up to your standards and there is no reason for me to do any further examination." She stammered out. She had already made herself look like an incompetent horse's ass in front of the department head once.
"Oh, no, by all means do an exam, try to redeem yourself, do your thing and we'll see if I'm impressed." Addison challenged her. She held her hand up to quiet her when she went to open her mouth and then she addressed Karev. "Alex, present," she ordered him. Mark had been standing back watching the whole exchange with a slight smirk on his lips, his fiancé was a badass, he wasn't going to lie it turned him on when she pulled rank like that.
"Addison Montgomery age thirty-eight, thirty-five weeks pregnant, presented with contractions and spotting. Also there's a history of hypertensive episodes." Karev reported.
"Thank you, Dr. Karev, I can take it from here." Lucy replied pulling on a pair of gloves as she sat down on the stool that he had vacated and began her examination. "When did the contractions start?" she asked Addison.
"I've been having them on and off since yesterday morning. I wasn't worried with the contractions so much as I was the bleeding." Addison answered her.
"Everything looks to be right on track for where it should be in this stage of your pregnancy. Any number of things could have caused the bleeding, but it's stopped now and that's an indicator that it was most likely nothing serious to begin with. There's what appears to be a little superficial tearing in the vaginal vault." Lucy explained after she had finished her exam.
"That's normal for women who have a well endowed partner. " Addison quipped and then she added seriously. "So, it's entirely possible that he bumped up against my cervix while we were having sex and that caused the bleeding."
Mark looked at her concerned. "We're saying that I caused this?" he asked.
"No, baby, you didn't cause the bleeding, we just got a little rougher than we should have." Addison explained to him.
"Are you sure?" Mark asked her.
"I'm positive, babe, you didn't cause this it just happens sometimes." Addison assured him.
"I see no reason to keep you any longer, Dr. Montgomery, just if the contractions persist or get more intense come back in." Lucy told her.
"I've got it, Dr. Fields, I am an OBGYN." Addison replied rolling her eyes. She just wasn't impressed with the fellow.
"God, it feels like I live in this hospital these day." Mark groaned later that morning when he walked into the NICU.
Addison was standing over an incubator doing an exam on the baby inside. "It's because you basically do, babe, if you're not working you're still hanging around here." she replied before listening to the baby's lungs with her stethoscope.
"So, how's she doing today?" Mark asked about the baby in the incubator.
"She's a fighter just like her daddy, Mark, and she's doing very well today." Addison assured him.
Mark smiled down at the tiny, little girl in the incubator. "Did you hear that, Sof? You're doing well, that makes your daddy so happy." He cooed. Sofia Robin Sloan Torres had been born seventeen weeks prematurely and was now in the NICU fighting for her life after a car accident that had nearly killed Callie. He had been with her in the NICU as often as he could be and that's why he had been spending so much time at the hospital lately.
"Babe, she's doing as well as can be expected with how premature she is and I'm doing everything that I can for her, but you know I'm going out on maternity leave soon, so you need to relax and not worry until there's something to really worry about. Mark, I know that this is scary for you and that this keeps happening to you, and I know how it feels to be as scared as you are right now, but trust me when I say she's going to be ok." Addison assured him.
"Addie, I trust you more than anyone in this world and if you say she's gonna be ok then I believe you." Mark said and then he looked at her confused. "How do you know what I'm going through?"
"Honey, our son was in the NICU for a week fighting for his life." Addison pointed out to him gently.
Mark smiled when she said that. "You've loved him from the minute he was born haven't you?"
Addison looked him in the eyes as she spoke from her heart. "Mark, I love you and he's part of you, so I couldn't do anything but love him and the same goes for Sofia, she's part of you."
Mark leaned over the incubator and kissed her sweetly. "I love you, Red."
"I love you too, Mark." Addison replied.
"Mark, where are you taking me and why am I blindfolded?" Addison asked Mark later on that afternoon.
"You'll see in just a minute it's a surprise." Mark replied smiling as he caught her trying to peek over the blindfold. "Hey, you, none of that." he scolded playfully.
"Mark, you know that I hate surprises. I don't know why you can't just tell me where we're going." Addison whined.
Mark chuckled as he threw the car in park. "We're here, Red, just relax." He got out of the car and went around to the passenger side to help her out. "Watch your step." He advised her as he took her hands and led her up the driveway.
"Where are we? I find it mighty suspicious that the minute I mention looking at houses you miraculously remember that you have a surprise for me and you get all cryptic." Addison bitched at him.
Mark left her standing there and made sure that everything was just right before taking her blindfold off. "Ok, you can look now." he said standing in front of her.
Addison blinked a couple of times to let her eyes adjust. Her mouth hung open when she saw the house in front of her. "Mark?"
"Welcome home, baby." Mark smiled pointing at the country mansion behind him.
"Mark Charles, did you buy us a house?" Addison asked him.
"No, Addie, I built us a house." Mark corrected her.
Addison threw her arms around his neck and pressed her lips to his. "Mark, just when I thought that I couldn't love you any more than I already did you go and build me a house."
"I take it you like it." He guessed smiling against her lips.
"I don't like it," she said and then she laughed when she saw his face fall. "I love it, Mark."
"Wanna see the inside?" Mark asked her his face lighting up.
"I'd love to see the inside, if it's anything like the outside I know I'm going to be pleased." Addison smiled at him. She loved that doing nice things for her made him so happy.
Mark took her by the hand and led her into the house. The marble flooring in the foyer gleamed in the afternoon sun. "I did my best to pick out things that you would like and we can always change anything that you want to." He was actually nervous for her to have a look around. He had worked really hard to build this house for her.
"Mark, I love it already." Addison assured him. "I can't wait to see the rest of the house." She took him by the hand and laced their fingers together. "Lead the way." She kissed his cheek.
"Right this way, my lady." Mark smiled leading her further into the house.
"Mark," Addison called out in a harsh whisper later that night. "Mark," she tried again walking unsteadily over to the bed. She sat down on the edge on his side and shook him gently. "Mark, come on you need to wake up." She grabbed her belly and breathed deeply as another contraction racked her body.
"Baby, it's the middle of the night go back to sleep." Mark said groggily as he pulled her down on the bed with him and cuddled her into his side. He rested his chin on her shoulder and kissed her cheek still half asleep.
Addison managed to free herself from his grasp and she got back out of bed. "Mark, you need to get up now, it's the baby, I think I'm in labor."
That's all Mark had to hear he rolled out of bed and started throwing clothes on as quick as humanly possible. "Are you sure? It's too soon for him to come." He asked his thoughts going a thousand miles a minute. He fell flat on his face when he tried to put both of his legs in the same pants leg.
Addison couldn't help laughing. "Babe, are you ok?" she asked putting her hands over her mouth to mask her laughter.
Mark got up and put his pants on right and threw a sweatshirt on over his t-shirt. "I'm fine, I'm more worried about you." he replied. He grabbed the bag that they had packed for just this occasion.
"I'll go grab Carson." Addison offered.
"No, I'll get him. You don't need to be carrying him around right now. You call the Captain and have him meet us at the hospital." Mark called over his shoulder as he went into the nursery to get Carson. "Come on, little man, we've gotta go to the hospital to see about mommy and your little brother. Daddy knows you're tired." He cooed as he picked his son up. He got him in his car seat and put his pacifier in his mouth.
"You ready?" Addison asked him holding her belly. She was excited to get this kid out of her, but a little worried that he was a month early.
"I'm ready," Mark answered a little out of breath. He put his hand in the small of her back and led her to the car.
"Honey, relax, take a deep breath. My contractions are ten minutes apart and my water hasn't broke yet, we are gonna be at this awhile, so you need to slow down." Addison tried calming him.
"Ok, I'm relaxed, it's all gonna be ok." Mark said taking a deep breath.
"Montgomery, it's still just Braxton Hicks contractions, you're not dilated or effaced." Karev told her after he did an examination.
"Alex, I'm telling you that these aren't just Braxton Hicks they feel like the real thing and I'm having them every ten minutes." Addison argued with him.
Alex consulted her chart. "I know what I'd like to do given your stats. I have two options and I know that you're not gonna like one of them."
Mark looked between the two of them. "What is he talking about right now?" he asked.
"He can induce labor or he can put me on bed rest. My blood pressure must be really high, because he looked worried after he took it." Addison explained to him.
"I'm gonna call Shepherd and see how she wants me to proceed, but in all likelihood we're having a baby in the next twenty-four hours." Alex announced.
"Red, are you sure that's safe?" Mark asked after Karev had walked away to make his call.
"Mark, the baby would only be four weeks early and while it's not the full forty weeks it's not as bad as being born at thirty-two weeks like Carson was. We have the best neonatal unit on the west coast and our son is going to be just fine. And before you know it we are all going to be in that beautiful new house that daddy built for us." Addison assured him.
Mark smiled and then kissed her forehead gently. "You set up the NICU here and you're the foremost neonatal surgeon in this country, so I trust you when it comes to things like this. That's right we are going to move into the new house and we're gonna be a family and then mommy and daddy are going to get married very soon. But first mommy and daddy really need to come up with a name for Peanut."
"Mark, I don't know how we're gonna get him named we have yet to come up with a name that we both agree on." Addison stressed just a little bit.
"Mark Sloan Jr," Mark suggested with a grin.
Addison sighed, "Barring anything else coming to one of us miraculously, Mark Charles Montgomery Sloan Jr, it is." She agreed because she really didn't feel like arguing with him at the moment.
Alex came back in the room at that moment with an IV kit in his hand. "Montgomery, are you ready to have this baby? I just got the green light from Shepherd; I'm to start inducing you. She's getting on a plane right now and you're not dilated or effaced, so that should give her plenty of time to get here." he explained.
Addison smiled and took Mark's hand. "Babe, this is it, it's really happening. In just a few hours we're going to get to meet our little boy."
"Wow I can't believe that he's finally gonna be here." Mark replied squeezing her hand.
"Where's Carson?" Addison asked.
"He's with your dad, baby." Mark answered her.
"Good, the last thing I want is to have to be worried about him while I have a boy the size of a bowling ball working his way out of my body." Addison retorted.
Mark kissed her hand. "He's just fine and I'm gonna be here with you the whole time." He swore to her.
"Montgomery, you ready to get this show on the road?" Alex asked her.
"Get the IV in, Karev, I'm more than ready to have this boy out of me." Addison answered him.
"Here we go, Red." Mark grinned at her.
"Here we go, baby." Addison replied smiling back at him.

"Hey, mommy, how's it going?" Derek asked a few hours later as he came into the room with a video camera.
"Derek, you're so lucky that I'm covered up and I'm not having a contraction right now. If I were I'd kill you for bringing that damn video camera in here while I'm in labor." Addison bitched at him.
Mark was sitting by her side dutifully feeding her ice chips. "Shep, she hasn't had the epidural yet, she can still get out of that bed and kick your ass." he warned his best friend.
"I'm not scared, I thought that this needed to be recorded for you two to look back on later." Derek said and then he stuck the camera in Addison's face. "Come on, Addie, say something for the camera." He urged her.
"Derek, get that fucking camera out of my face." Addison yelled at him. "Mark, get him away from me."
"Derek, if you don't wanna to die get the camera out of her face. Come on, man, she's in pain and this isn't helping." Mark advised him. "Actually, if you really want to be a big help you could check on Casey for me." he added.
"There's no need for me to check on him. The Captain and Bizzy are both out in the waiting room and they are pretty much in competition over who can fuss over him more." Derek informed him.
"Derek, you can't be talking about the people who raised me right now." Addison told him in disbelief.
"I can't believe it either, if I hadn't seen it with my own two eyes I wouldn't believe it." Derek replied. "Now come on, you two, say something to your son." he said holding the camera up again.
Mark waved at the camera. "Hey, Peanut, we're just waiting for you to get here right now and daddy can't wait to meet you."
"Mommy is working on hour number four of labor and let me tell you something little boy you better appreciate this it hurts." Addison spoke to the camera. "Now, get that damn thing out of my face, Derek. I look like shit and I feel even worse." She growled at her ex.
"Time to go now, Shep." Mark told him when Addison squeezed his hand clearly having another contraction. "If you see Karev send him in here." he added as his friend walked out of the room. "Ok, Addie, breathe through it, baby. You're doing so good. Derek is gonna get Karev in here and he's gonna check you again." He pressed a kiss to the side of her face.
"Ow, damn it, Mark, I want this kid out of me." Addison said through gritted teeth. "You're never touching me again, you bastard I hate you." she seethed at him.
Alex walked into the room just in time to hear her say that. "Ok, let's get you checked." He said pulling on a pair of gloves. He sat down on a stool and put her feet in the stirrups and checked her cervix. "Labor is progressing rapidly, you're almost at six centimeters and you're about ninety-five percent effaced. So, this kid could be here any time now."
"Have you heard from Nancy and what about getting her an epidural?" Mark asked concerned. He didn't want her in pain any longer than she had to be.
"I haven't heard from Shepherd yet and the epidural is really up to her and when she wants it." Alex replied.
"Red?" Mark asked looking at Addison.
"I wanna wait until I'm at six before I get the epidural I want it to have time to take effect, but I don't wanna be stuck in this bed not able to move for hours either." Addison explained to him.
"Ok, I'll get an OB intern in here to give you the epidural and I will check and get a status report on Shepherd." Alex said.
"No, Karev, you'll give her the epidural or I will or we will get an actual OB, but I don't trust an intern to give her an epidural." Mark told him firmly.
"I'll go get the stuff for the epidural and I'll let you give it to her." Alex said before leaving to get the epidural.

"Oh god, I wanna push, I'm telling you I can't wait much longer. I feel a lot of pressure and I need to push." Addison yelled a couple hours later.
"Karev, where the hell is Nancy?" Mark yelled at the younger man.
"Her flight got delayed, but I just talked to Shepherd and he said that they are about ten to fifteen minutes out. I'm gonna check her cervix again and then go from there." Alex reported. He put her feet up in the stirrups and he cussed. "Oh, shit, ok, we're not gonna be able to wait I can see the baby's head." he got up and yelled out the door. "I need a L and D and a NICU team in here now!" he came back into the room followed by a couple nurses. "Sloan, get where you're gonna be and stay out of the way." He ordered the older man.
"I'm right where I'm gonna be." Mark said from his spot beside Addison. Here he could hold her hand and support her while also being able to see the baby come out. "Alright, Addie, you listen to me, you yell, you scream, you get as loud as you want to because that is your God given right. I'm right here, Red, and I'm not going anywhere, you squeeze my hand and you cuss me as much as you want to. We are getting ready to meet our little boy and you're being so brave, you're doing so great." he kissed her sweat-streaked forehead.
Karev put on his scrub cap and pulled on a fresh pair of latex gloves. "Montgomery, you ready to meet your son?" he asked her as he got her situated.
Addison smiled at him. "I'm ready, Karev." She answered him. "Do not cut me unless it looks like I'm going to tear." She said going into teacher mode for a moment.
"No backseat driving, you trained me for this, so you just concentrate on your part, I've got my part covered." Alex assured her. "Now, on the count of three I want a big push from you. One, two, three, push." He counted.
Addison took a deep breath and pushed as hard as she could while squeezing Mark's hand. She really didn't know how women did this naturally. "Oh my God, Mark, you son of a bitch, we are never having sex again!" she yelled at him.
Mark kissed her hand. "You're doing so good, Red, just a few more pushes and we are gonna meet our boy." He encouraged her. He knew that she didn't really mean what she had said about them never having sex again.
"The head is almost out, give me another push, Montgomery." Alex instructed her.
"Sloan, you dumb fuck, why didn't you use a fucking condom?" Addison screamed at Mark as she pushed again.
"I know it hurts, I know, Addie." Mark talked to her soothingly.
"The head's out the hard part is almost done, you give me two more pushes and you can rest." Alex told her. She pushed again and she had the shoulders almost out one push and the baby was about halfway out. "You did great, now go on and rest for a minute."
Addison lay back panting, "Mark, the worst mistake I ever made in my life was having sex with you." She didn't mean a word she said it was the pain talking.
Mark smoothed her hair back from her forehead and kissed it. "You don't mean that, Red, all of this is gonna be worth it when you meet him."
"How does he look, Mark?" Addison asked softening.
Mark looked into the mirror that was situated in the room for just that purpose before reporting back to her. "He's got a head full of hair, Addie, now I can't tell what color it is yet, but there is a lot of it."
"Alright, Montgomery, now you give me three more pushes and you're done." Alex instructed her.
Addison shook her head. "I can't, I can't do it, I'm so tired."
"Red, listen to me, I know that you're tired and I know that this hurts, but you can do this. You've been incredibly brave, you have been a trooper and I am so unbelievably proud of you right now. I'm right here, Addie, you lean on me, let me be your rock and I promise you that I will get you through this. Now, you squeeze the hell out of my hand and you push, and we will bring our little boy into the world." Mark spoke from the heart and then he kissed her lips tenderly.
Addison sat up and squeezed Mark's hand. "Let's meet our son."
"That's my girl." Mark smiled at her.
"Alright, Addison, three more pushes." Karev told her using her first name for a change. "We're going on three. One, two, three, now push." He counted off.
"Ah, oh shit, this boy better appreciate all the pain I've gone through." Addison bitched as she pushed as hard she could.
"He will, he's gonna love you so much, baby." Mark assured her rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb.
"Two more," Karev encouraged her.
"Ah, damn you, Mark Sloan, I hate that you're so good in bed you did this to me." Addison cussed Mark pushing again.
"I did, I got you pregnant without even trying, I'm skilled that way." Mark teased her even though he knew she wasn't in the mood for it.
"Ok, now, you give me one last big push and you're done, you're home free." Karev said grabbing a towel from the scrub nurse to catch the baby with.
"Fuck, oh My God!" Addison screamed at the top of her lungs pushing one last time.
"You did so good, Red, I am so proud of you." Mark praised as he kissed her head.
Alex held the baby up to them with a smile on his face. "Congratulations, you two, you've got a beautiful boy here." he told them. "Sloan, do you wanna cut the cord, dad?"
Mark got a big goofy grin on his face. "I wanna cut the cord." He took the scissors that nurse handed him and he cut the cord. No sooner he had cut the cord than a loud, ringing wail filled the room. He couldn't describe the emotions coursing through him as he heard his son's first cries.
As Alex carried the baby off to be cleaned up Nancy walked into the room. "Karev, it looks like you have everything under control and you don't need me here." she commented.
"Actually, she still has to pass the afterbirth and be sewn up and I need to get him checked out and make sure that he is ok." Alex informed her and she sprang into action.
"Mark, go make sure that the baby is ok, I'm fine." Addison urged her boyfriend.
"Ok, Red, I'll just be right over there with him if you need me." Mark replied as he went over to watch them clean his son off.
"How badly did I tear?" Addison asked Nancy as she started stitching her up.
"This isn't bad at all I've seen women tear a lot worse than this with smaller babies. You had a big boy, if you'd gone full term you would have had to have a c-section." Nancy replied.
Mark walked back over with the baby a moment later. "Look what we did, mommy." He said laying their son on Addison's chest. "He's perfect, he's got all ten fingers and all ten toes and Karev said everything looks good so far." He reported proudly.
Addison looked down at him with tears in her eyes. This was the baby she was warned she would probably never have. "He is absolutely perfect, babe, and we did this. I love you so much, Mark." She said as the tears made their way down her face.
"I love you too, Red, this right here is beyond perfect." Mark replied kissing her a few tears falling down his face as well.
Addison took her son's tiny hand in her own and she kissed it. "Hello, little boy, I'm your mommy, I waited a very long time for you. You wouldn't believe what all I had to go through to get you." she told him.
Mark pressed a gentle kiss to the newborn's head. "Hi there, I'm your daddy, I'm sure you remember me, I'm sorry that you got stuck with me, but I love you so much."
Addison looked up at Mark and smiled. "Mark, I know what we're gonna name him."
Mark chuckled, "I kinda figured that you weren't gonna let me get away with naming him Mark Jr." he smiled down at his family the only person missing was Carson. "Well, what's his name?" he asked and Addison pulled him down by the shirt collar and whispered it in his ear. He looked at her and his smiled broadened. "I love that name, Red."
Half the doctor's of Seattle Grace Mercy West were sitting out in the waiting room when Mark walked out to deliver the news. "Ladies and gentleman, we have a healthy baby boy. Seven pounds ten ounces and twenty inches of handsome." He reported to them beaming with pride.
"Mark, how is Addison?" The Captain asked.
"She's doing great, she was a total trooper, she handled it very well." Mark answered.
"When can we see her?" Amelia asked she had flown up with the rest of the doctors from LA.
"Amy, what are you doing here?" Mark asked forgetting not to call her that.
"My sister has a big mouth and besides that I like Addison better than I like my sisters, so there was no way that I was missing this." Amelia replied not caring that two of her sisters were present and could hear her.
"What Amelia meant to say was you're our brother, Mark, and Addie is our fifth sister, we weren't going to be anywhere else." Kathleen Shepherd told him.
"Thank you, that means the world to the both of us." Mark replied gratefully. He went over to where Bizzy was sitting with Carson in her lap and he picked his son up. "Hey, Casey, you ready to go meet your little brother?" he cooed at him.
"Everything is ok with the baby?" Bizzy asked him.
"He's absolutely perfect and so far everything looks great. They just took him to the nursery to get him all cleaned up and run some tests on him." Mark answered.
"You two still don't have a name do you?" Derek asked him chuckling.
"I will have you know that we do finally have a name, but Addie will tell you that when you come to see her. Just let me take Casey in there and let him meet his brother and then I'll tell you when you can come in." Mark replied.
Awhile later Mark was lying in the bed next to Addison they had Carson in between them and she was holding the baby in her arms. Mark kissed all three of them on the head and smiled contentedly. "Daddy loves you two boys and your mommy so much."
Addison looked over at him and smiled tiredly. "Mommy loves her three boys more than anything in this world."
Mark leaned his head against hers and rubbed his newborn son's head. "He looks so much like you, Red." He commented and then he added. "Thank you so much for my handsome little Peanut."
"No, thank you, for my beautiful baby boy, Mark." Addison said and she brushed her lips against his gently.
"I really gotta learn to knock." Karev muttered to himself as he stepped into the room followed by Avery.
"You'd think they'd remember that they paged us before they started making out." Avery quipped.
"We were not making out, there are infants in the room even I am not that depraved." Mark informed them rolling his eyes.
"Montgomery, why did you guys page us? Is everything ok?" Alex asked.
"Everything is fine, Karev. Mark and I just thought that you and Avery might like to meet your godson." Addison answered with a smile.
"You want Karev and I both to be godfather?" Avery asked.
"Yeah, we do, Addie has her reasons." Mark answered him and then he looked over at Addison. "Red, go on and introduce him to his godfathers."
Addison kissed her son on his head. "Karev, Avery, I would like you to meet your godson, Jackson Alexander Michael Montgomery Sloan."
"You gave the kid my first and middle name." Alex observed.
"Yeah, you were with me every step of the way since I found out I was pregnant and you pushed my vitamins on me and you did a really stellar job of making sure we both stayed healthy." Addison explained to him.
"Why did you give him my name?" Avery asked.
"Because, Avery, you saved her life. If not for you then I might not have either one of them right now. That's also why we decided to make you and Karev both godfather." Mark informed him.
"Jackie, say hi to Uncle Alex and Uncle Jackson." Addison said waving his little hand at them. She really couldn't imagine how she could ever be happier than she was right now in this moment.
A/N: Here is the next chapter, I hope you guys enjoyed it. To make up for the long wait I made it a little bit longer than normal. As promised the baby is finally here and I promise you that I have a lot more good stuff in store. Until next time please review.
