Hello!~
I would like to thank you all for reading my story! All though, at times it would take me a long time to update, it was still a great experience to share my imagination with you! Let me tell you, when I first started writing this, I had just gotten out of a dramatic point in my life, which led me to miss a lot of my schooling. I was still coping with the harsh pain of of losing someone who I once called friend. I need a way of escape, so I read a lot of my Manga and watch a lot of Anime. Most specifically, Death Note. My absolute favourite Manga and Anime at the time, and still is! As I was re-reading the series, I came up with and idea. I immediately, went to my computer (well, laptop, but I had to use it as if it was an actual computer, the laptop's screen was broken, but the hard drive was still working), turned it on, and started writing.
When I wrote the prologue, I made it so my character, Malli, or Kohana (her real name) felt sad and alone, as I had felt. As the story progressed, it became more of what I imagined Malli's life should be like, compared to what I was feeling. I felt if I could make my OC happy, than I could be happy myself. My theory worked, which was nice, but once I graduated from middle school and onto high school, I had moved on from what had happened int he past school year. I made new friends, and forgot about it, to a certain extent. I never forgot about the story. I couldn't leave it hanging! I just had to finish it. So here you are, reading this, probably thinking, "Why is she telling us this?" Well, this is just a way to give some in site of the making of the story, for those who are interested.
When I first started writing, I had planned for the main character to be some sort of psycho, killing off anyone who entered the ally ways at night, and have Kira wanting to side with her as his queen, as L tried to find them. Though, that's not how the story went, had it? Not at all. As I wrote, my ideas changed. I wanted a more peaceful start to it, rather than have Malli always out killing. I thought, why not have a twist to it? Thus, the story came to be as it is.
Around the middle of the story, I decided I was going to make a sequel. I thought I was going to have Light beat L and take Malli with him, having Near meating a girl the same way Malli met L and stopping Kira. Though, as I wrote, I ideas changed in a heart beat. They had changed from Plan A to Plan B, to Plan C so quickly, that I ended the story as it is now. They went from Light beating L and taking Malli with him, which Near meeting a girl, bla, bla, bla, to Light beating L, with Malli being forced to work with Near to stop Kira, to L beating Light and Malli and him falling in love. I thought that the story has ended.
As I was writing the Epilogue, I received a comment asking for it not to be the end. That comment encouraged me to write a sequel and continue it in another way. It took a while, but I managed to write a way to lead to a sequel. I used December as a sign that a sequel was forming in my mind as you're sitting here and reading this.
I am pleased to announce that the sequel is now out! Please go to my profile to access it.
Until then, I bid you farewell, and the best of wishes. Yours truly,
~QueenOfDecember~
