Oh hey you all lol yes my bored as is back but not for long. Just wanna finish up this one shot. 2 more chaps to go before this one shot is over. This chapter was going to be longer but I cut some of it due to redundancy. Hope you all enjoy. Don't hate my Sammy or my Mercedes too much okay, they are trying. Let's see if Mercedes gets her some chutzpah.

Mercedes left the party and noticed Sam, Quinn, Santana and her brother talking to Anthony near Marcus' car. She hated the situation she was in and hated that she felt powerless when it came to changing it. She knew all she had to do was either stand up to Sam about their relationship or stand up to Marcus. Either way she felt she would end up on the losing end of it all. She didn't want to force Sam out with their relationship, she wanted him to be proud that he was with her. Since she was ten all she ever wanted was to be with him and now that she was, she wasn't sure it was enough. She wanted more and it seemed like he wasn't capable of giving it to her. As she took the long way home, she mentally told herself to begin weaning herself of Sam.

"The best way to get over him would be to cut him off completely." She told herself then laughed at the thought, knowing that he was practically family and always at the Joneses. She felt her phone vibrate and knew that it had to be either Sam or Kurt looking for her. She decided not to even look at it, knowing that it would be hard not to reply to either of them. Kurt hadn't done anything wrong but she really just needed to be alone with her thoughts. She needed to figure out a way to get over Sam on her own.

She felt the phone vibrate a couple more times before she started to hear Sam's ringtone that she specified just for him. It wasn't nothing special. It was just the first song she ever heard him singing while they played a couple rounds of video games. From that moment, Billionaire was forever on a loop for her. She pulled her phone out and just stared at his picture as it took over her phone's screen before she watched as the call go to voicemail. Once she knew he left her a message she turned the ringer off and placed it back in her pocket. If she knew Sam, she knew he'd continue to call and if she was honest with herself she knew she would eventually answer.

She made it home and was proud that she didn't once look at the phone as she placed it on the charger before lying down on her bed. She stared at the ceiling and played different scenarios of how she assumed things would go the next time she saw Sam. Of course, in her mind, she had major cojones and stood firm. She told Sam exactly how he made her feel when he hid their relationship from everyone. And when he tried to kiss her, she simply placed her hand on his chest to stop him, telling him that she'd had enough of the secrecy. That if he wanted to be with her then he would need to show her that he was serious about their relationship. Until then she didn't want to see him. She saw it all going down perfectly in the morning, usually because Marcus was the type to sleep in and usually on Saturdays, Sam was known to be there bright and early on the couch. It all went perfectly for her in every scenario that played in her mind. Unfortunately, real life never had a script and she couldn't control or know that Sam would have his own script. She never saw Sam deciding that he wouldn't wait for the morning and instead decide he would just barge into her bedroom without even knocking.

"What the hell, Sam!"

"What the hell, Mercedes!" Sam shouted as well as he barged in. "I've been calling you and texting you trying to find where you went." Sam continued as she tried to remind herself of the scenarios that she went over in her head. None of them came close to Sam barging into her bedroom looking for her. All the pep talk she had prior of standing her ground didn't prepare her for the way she'd react to seeing him look at her the way he was at that moment.

"I...uh...I came home." she stammered as she tried to pretend as if she wasn't happy he came. This would be the best time to tell him how she felt. This was the best time to really lay all on the line.

"Why were you ignoring my calls and text messages?"

"My phone died." she lied then cursed herself for lying as he walked over to the phone and glared at the fact that it showed all his missed calls and text messages and that her ringer was turned off.

"Mercedes, I was worried about you and you were ignoring my calls?" Sam turned to face her. She told herself to say that he wasn't worried enough but instead she walked over to the door and held it as she prayed for the strength to tell him to leave.

"Sam..."

"What's going on with you, Mercedes?" Sam asked as he walked over and closed the door then took her hand in his. "You came to the party as if you wanted to start some type of drama between your brother and Anthony. You know Anthony has to block for your brother next Friday and any beef between them would cause so much damage to him and the team." Although she did use Anthony, she was definitely not thinking of Marcus when she used him. She never even considered that the drama could extend to the field. She immediately realized that she could have hurt more than just Sam with her actions. "Hey," Sam said as he picked her chin up and stared into her eyes as if he could just hear that she was regretting what she did. "It's okay. I fixed everything. I spoke to your brother and Anthony. Everything was squashed. I took care of everything." he smiled causing her to completely forget that she was mad at him and before she could play out her attempt at stopping him from kissing her, he was already holding her tight again then kissing her. How did she ever think that she could ever resist his smile or his touch. He wasn't following her script. He had his own and for some reason she always followed it, she damn near waited for it. "Hey, you think I can get a dance from my girlfriend?" he asked as he swayed her to no music at all.

"There's no music playing, Sam." she replied but swayed with him anyway. He began humming a song that she wasn't familiar with as he held her close then rocked and sway as he hummed. She chuckled a bit as he began to mumble the words to the song, something she knew he did when he didn't know the lyrics then blushed when he began singing the lyrics.

"And every bit of love left in this beat up, banged up, scarred up heart, that's been waiting on a girl like you." she smiled and closed her eyes before laying her head on his chest as he continued. "I know it ain't much, but it comes alive with every touch, every kiss already feels like you own it." then he whispered the rest next to her ear. "Baby, it's yours if you want it." they continued to sway as he mumbled the last part over and over in her ear. He had his own script and she hated to admit that she always enjoyed when they were able to play out his instead of hers. She wasn't sure what song he was singing but she knew that she would forever hear it playing as this was another moment she would never forget.

The rest of the weekend she barely saw Sam, but he texted her and called her more than he'd done before. Some of the calls were about things he could have just texted her but she was happy to hear his voice anyway. Every few minutes he would say that he needed to call her back and he would really do just that. By Monday, Mercedes completely forgot about what happened at Mike's party but no one else forgot about it. Tina and Kurt continuously asked her about what was going on with her and Anthony. She continued to tell them that nothing was going on but Tina already confirmed that the Grapevine, the school's newsletter that she was apart of, already wrote an article saying something was going on. Mercedes was over it all but she was not going to allow the rumors or anything get her down.

Her day continued to be great, when Marcus apologized for his behavior at the party. Something she never saw coming but she wished she'd record it. Everything was just looking up for her as the day progressed, that during soccer practice she couldn't keep the smile off her face as she ran drills with her team. On the bleachers, as usual, Marcus and Sam sat to watch her just as she did when they practiced. She couldn't wait to finish practice so that she could sneak behind the bleachers with Sam to make-out. At least, that was the script she wrote for her day and the way her day was going she had a feeling it would go according to her script from top to bottom.

Sadly, as you know it, life doesn't follow a script. Life doesn't care how great things have been going that it would pick up a script and keep up with it. Somewhere along the line, life was bound to begin to ad-lib and she saw it when she got out of the girls locker room. When she looked up on the bleachers, Sam and Marcus were no longer there so she made her way to the parking lot where she normally parked her car and noticed Sam talking to Quinn. Every time she turned, Quinn was there all up in Sam's grill messing with the script she wrote for them. From where she looked on, Sam looked sadder than he did moments ago and within seconds Quinn was hugging him then they hopped inside of her car. Mercedes felt her heart drop when she watched as Sam texted on his phone before she heard hers buzzing.

"Hey, need to rain check. I will call you later." she read the text slowly and more than once as if he sent it in another language. She didn't think anything could ruin her day till she received that text message and saw them in the car together. Before she could even stop herself, she was inside of her own car and following them to wherever the hell they were going. As she followed them, she felt herself getting angrier and angrier. She could feel her bliss slowly oozing out of her as her anger grew. This time, there was nothing Sam could do that would keep her from speaking her mind. She didn't care if Quinn was there, she was prepared to give her a piece of her mind as well. Give the both of them a two-for-one special.

She watched as Quinn pulled into what looked like a motel and felt her heart drop lower than it was before. She didn't think it could drop any lower as she watched the both of them get out of the car and make their way towards the room. She parked her car behind another before jumping out of her car and pulling her cellphone out and zooming in on them to see what was happening. She watched them enter the room and waited to see when she would come out of the room. She wasn't sure how long Quinn was in there but she didn't care. It was a few minutes too many for Mercedes. She stomped over to the door and prepared to knock on the door as she tried to compose herself. Last thing she wanted to do was look psychotic.

"Just tell your dad that I found another..." she heard Sam say as he opened the door and paused mid-sentence when he saw Mercedes. "Merc...Mercedes, uh, what are you doing here?" he asked as he looked between Quinn and her.

"Wondering what she is doing here." Mercedes responded as she looked from Quinn to Sam. Quinn sucked in her lips and scoffed before shaking her head and stepping outside.

"I'm guessing you two have things you need to discuss." she looked at Sam before hopping inside of her car. "See you both at school tomorrow." Mercedes glared at Sam as he watched Quinn drive off before looking back at Mercedes.

"What's going on, Sam?" Mercedes asked as she crossed her arms. She watched as he slowly tried to close the door behind him but she was not having it as she pushed her way in. "What? You don't want me to see your Quinn sex cave?" she asked then paused when she noticed the room looked as if someone had been living there for more than a day. "Sam?" she said his name expecting him to begin explaining but he just walked over to the bed and sat down.

"I messed up, Mercedes." he said as he ran his head through his hair.

"Wow. I can't believe you, Sam." Mercedes said as she began to tear up. She was really hoping that she didn't tear up. She wanted to be tough and tell Sam and Quinn to both kiss her ass but instead she was tearing up. "I'm so stupid." she said before sniffing and wiping away a tear that fell from her eyes. Sam quickly looked up then made his way to her as she stepped back and stopped him from coming closer.

"Mercedes, no, it's not what you think. I can explain." he said causing her to chuckle at his cliche of a response. "Seriously, it's not what you're thinking." Sam said as he stepped closer to her then stopped when she shook her head.

"You can explain? How in the world can you explain you bringing Quinn to this motel? Huh?" she asked as she waited for him to respond. He looked off as if it was killing him that he had to explain but finally he spoke and she felt her world shatter to pieces.

"Quinn's pregnant." Mercedes felt the wind get knocked out of her as she leaned against the wall for strength. "Wait, let me start over. She's..."

"You slept with her." Mercedes said softly before standing up and making her way to the door. "You slept with...her. Her? She cheated on you with Finn Hudson and you...you slept with..." she shook her head as another tear fell from her eyes. She quickly wiped it away and forced a smile on her face. "You know what, Sam, we're done. I can't do this. I really can't." she opened the door but Sam quickly closed it and leaned against it to stop her from leaving.

"Wait, Mercedes, just let me explain."

"No, Sam. I'm done." she shrugged before reaching for the door again. "Let me go, Sam."

"Mercedes, I didn't get her pregnant." Sam said before repeating it again. "Please let me explain." he begged and when she didn't budge he begged again. "Please." Sam sighed as he reached for her hand and guided her back towards the bed.

It all began when his father lost his job, the same week Quinn broke up with him for Finn Hudson. Things were just not going his way and he was having a horrible day when his father told them that he'd lost his job. So, on top of Quinn breaking up with him, he learned that his father was planning on selling the house. At first, he had no plans of going to prom that night but Marcus convinced him to go. He explained how he was prepared to have an even worse night at prom until he saw her in her dress. He explained that for the first time he saw her. Deep down, he felt a bit jealous wondering if she'd gotten dressed up for the guy that never noticed her. He remembered that he was nervous as he asked her to dance wondering if she'd decline because she stared at his hand for song before she smiled up at him. He never wanted that night to end but it did and he had to head home. A home he wasn't sure would be there beyond the summer. When he got there his parents were already packing things up. He felt upset as he listened to his parents explain that they had to move back to Kentucky. He began packing his stuff as well then stopped when he received a text from Marcus that they were throwing the after prom party. This was just what he needed to escape what was going on. He figured he'd go to the party, have some fun one last time before leaving with his folks. He'd wanted to kiss her the night of prom, so with nothing to lose he figured why not get a kiss before leaving. He never thought that kiss was going to make him do something crazy. After they kissed in her bedroom, Sam went home and told his parents he didn't want to move.

"We understand, Sam, but what do you want us to do?" his mother asked as she continued to pack. Sam shrugged as he looked at his parents. He didn't know but what he knew was that he couldn't leave without seeing what he had with Mercedes.

"It doesn't matter, Sam. We're leaving and you're leaving with us." Sam's father said.

"I have football camp, Dad! This is my senior year and you want me to start over in Kentucky? Come on, please. Just let me stay." he begged. "Camp this year will be in the cabins so you won't have to worry about where I'll be staying for the summer." he lied as looked between them waiting for them to respond. His parents both sighed before finally looking at him and reminding him that when school started he had to head straight to Kentucky. He quickly hugged them both even though he knew he had no plans of ever going to Kentucky.

He spent the first week couch surfing between Mike's and Marcus' as he researched how he could become emancipated. He remembered that Quinn's father was an attorney and decided to pay him a visit. Quinn's father immediately told him that it was a bad decision but still advised him what he would need to do. He explained that Sam needed to have a job and a place as well. He told Sam that if he could prove that he could keep a steady job, stay out of trouble and not allow it all to affect his grade then he'd help him get emancipated by October. The next day, Sam hit the town and applied for every job he could find and finally got a job at a pharmacy as a stock boy in Dalton.

Sam explained that he was dead tired every day, between working and football the only time he really enjoyed himself was when he was at the Joneses. He explained that whenever he got a chance to be with her he'd get the motivation he needed to continue and power through it all. Things were going great for him for a while, despite being tired because no one knew that he was living in hotel and working at a pharmacy. That was until one day he was busy stocking when Quinn walked up to him with a pregnancy test not knowing that it was Sam.

"Hey, can you tell me the price of this?" she asked then paused in shock as Sam turned and looked at the pregnancy test then at her. "Sam, what are you doing here?"

"Quinn?" Sam looked at her and immediately started to calculate the last time he slept with her, praying he wasn't about to mess up everything he worked for that summer. "Are you...pregnant?"

"I don't know." she replied before looking at the box and then placing her hand on her hip. "That's why I'm trying to buy this to see if I am. So, do you know the price or not?" she asked. Sam shrugged then pulled out his scanner before scanning the box and showing her the price. Quinn nodded then turned to leave before turning back to him. "If you're wondering, it's not yours okay. Just in case you were wondering."

"I wasn't." he lied then asked if she was okay. She glared at him then turned back and made her way to the cashier. Sam watched as she paid for the box then placed it in her purse and walk out of the store. Later that night, when he got off, she was outside in the parking lot as if she'd been there since she bought the test. Sam walked over to the driver side and knocked lightly on the window. She turned to look his way with tears running down her face before slowly rolling down the window. "Quinn..."

"I...I have no one I can talked to about this." She said between tears. Sam sighed and looked at his phone knowing that this was going to cut into his time with Mercedes. He walked around to the passenger side and opened the door before hopping in and listening to her sob and vent. He listened without interrupting and once she was done she chuckled. "I can't believe I'm venting to you when you have your own drama that you're dealing with." He pretended as if he didn't know what she was talking about. "It's okay, Sam. I know what's going on."

"What are you talking about?"

"I overheard a conversation my father was having about you so I know what you're trying to do." she explained as she continued to wipe her tears away. "Why in the world would you want to stay in Lima? What in the world could be here that would make you want to get emancipated?" she asked. Sam had no plans on telling her why but just at that moment, Mercedes texted him and she saw that she asked when he was coming over. "Wow! So, that's still going on?" she asked as she watched him text Mercedes back. Without even knowing that he was smiling he reacted to her saying that she missed him and that was all Quinn needed to see. "Did you do this for her?" she asked as Sam placed his phone in his pocket. "Do you love her? Are you...in love with her?" Sam smile slowly faded as he really contemplated if he was in love with Mercedes.

Mercedes sat in silence as she listened to Sam explain everything that he'd been through during the summer. Although she was touched that he did all that she couldn't get over the fact that he told Quinn and not her. Sure she found out but it didn't matter. He should have told her and that just made her more upset with him. She'd asked him numerous times if something was wrong and he never told her a thing. Sam was still explaining how he used his first check to get a motel room and explain that it was all going well till school began. No matter how hard he tried, he didn't have enough time in the day to do everything and his grades were already struggling. He'd already been late to work a couple times to the point that he eventually got fired.

"So, Quinn came and told me today that her father found out about me getting fired and that I needed to figure something out quick before he sends me packing. Quinn was only someone I vented to when I was frustrated about my situation, and vice versa." he finally finished and looked at Mercedes waiting for her to respond. "So, like I said. It's not at all what you think." he stroked the top of her hand as he tried to get her to look at him. "Mercedes, please say something."

"Did you ever think that maybe...you could have told me what was going on with you?" she asked as she finally looked his way. "I asked you so many times and you shut me out and said nothing was wrong." he started to respond but she quickly cut him off. "I'm not done." she said as she pulled her hand away from him. "I'm your girlfriend, Sam! I am! At least that's what you let me believe."

"You are my girl..."

"I'm not done! I let you talk and I didn't interrupt you. Please allow me the same courtesy!" she shouted then sighed. "I'm your girlfriend." she continued as her voice cracked. "You're going through all of this and as your girl, I should be the person you vent to when you're frustrated. I should be the one you go to when you need someone to lean on! Not Quinn! She's your ex for crying out loud!" she added as glared at Sam through tear filled eyes. "Did you even for one second wonder how it made me feel to see you cozying up to your ex every day? I was your girlfriend..."

"You are my girlfriend." Sam interrupted but she continued.

"...but you treated me as if I wasn't. Only time I get to be this girlfriend is in secrecy."

"Because of Marcus! You know how he feels about anyone dating you! If he finds out about us, he'd never forgive me. I'd lose my best friend."

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT MARCUS THINKS!" she shouted. "I DON'T CARE ABOUT QUINN AND HER ISSUES! I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF IT!" She took a deep breath and licked her lips which were now drenched with her tears. "What I care about...what I only want or ever wanted was to be with you, Sam."

"You are with me, Mercedes." Sam said as he stood up and threw his hand in the air. "I mean, damn Mercedes, I did all this for you! I'm doing all this for you."

"And yet, you keep putting me on the back burner for everyone else." she stated. They both fell silent and didn't say a word for a while. Finally, she sighed then grabbed her purse and made her way to the door again but stopped when he placed his hand on hers.

"Please don't leave me, Mercedes." he begged. "Tell me what you want me to do." Mercedes stared at the door and thought about what it meant if she left him. What that meant for everything that Sam had done that summer. What it meant for them. If she left, he'd more than likely end up leaving for Kentucky. If she stayed, that meanT she would have to remain in a secret relationship with him for much longer.

"I want you to call Quinn's dad and say that you can't go through with the emancipation." she replied. He hung his head as if he'd really lost it all. "Then I want you to tell Marcus everything."

"Mercedes..."

"Stop interrupting me, Sam!" she exclaimed. "I want you to tell Marcus everything about your family leaving you here because you decided to finish out the school year and get a football scholarship with him. He will talk to my parents and they will let you stay with us. Trust me."

"Okay." he replied then asked: "What about us?" Sam asked as she turned to face him.

"No one else needs to know for now but promise me no more secrets between..." she began to say but before she could even finish the sentence, Sam wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tight.

"I promise. I swear."

Whooo that was heated lol and yes it continues. Next chapter we find out if Sam is moving in or moving to Kentucky. Let me know what you all think... I really appreciate your reviews on this.
