Jayden really wished Antonio and Zoey allowed him to change into some jeans before leaving the house. He didn't even have his cell phone on him. When the couple dragged him out of the house, they only allowed him to put on a pair of flip-flips (which only made his fashion situation worse). Once they got him out of the house, he decided he was losing and asked to change his clothes into something more festive. But, they claimed he was untrustworthy and he should've thought about that before pissing both of them off.

Jayden shook his head. Now that all three of them were at the Panorama Polynesian Festival, Antonio and Zoey have abandoned him. He looked like a loner and technically, he was a loner. While everyone at the festival was enjoying the respective culture's food, music, and dance performances, the red samurai was walking along the beach, kicking a stone, with his head down. Pitiful.

Since he didn't have his phone on him, he doesn't know if Jenni had called him. It worried him, although, he didn't know the big deal. At least that's what he told himself. He spoke to Jenni about twice since their break up and it was via phone conversations just to exchange an awkward "How was your day?" A little after Lauren and Ji's fallout, the Bullzord guardians did have a dinner party but he never spoke to Jenni. Whenever he tried, she was speaking to someone else like she is trying to avoid him. Is she?

Well, he was going to have his question answered now. He walked into a canopy tent that had self-serve food in there such as exotic fruits. Jayden found Jenni with a Styrofoam bowl in one hand and her other looking for ripe fruits. Her back was turned to him and she had no idea he was there. He felt himself getting nervous. Jenni was turning to find more to eat. When she completely spun around and was facing Jayden, he gave her a weird wave to greet her.

"Oh, hey, Jenni." Jayden stuttered out. He gave her a half smile.

"Hey." Jenni stood there, almost robotic-like, with a blank expression. Her gaze fell on Jayden's attire. "Sweatpants at a festival? Don't tell me I need to teach you how to dress for outdoor occasions too."

Jayden felt himself blush the color of the stripes on his shirt and not because he was wearing sweatpants at a festival like Jenni pointed out but, because he didn't realize how much he had missed Jenni's aggressive monotone voice. Though, on the topic of clothing, Jayden did find it weird to see Jenni in a casual white dress with a white flower in her big hair. Usually when he saw Jenni, she wore dark colored clothing with sneakers or scary tall heels. The only other time he saw her in white was when she admitted she cheated on him. Jayden felt a shiver run down his spine at the thought.

"I know how to dress myself." Jayden defended himself. "It's a funny story really…See, I wasn't going to come in the first place and then your crazy sister came in and didn't give me time to change and…"

"I'm guessing you didn't have time to grab your cellular device either, huh?" Jenni didn't look very impressed.

"No…did you call?"

"Of course, I did! Zoey told me you were here but I couldn't find you anywhere. And what do you mean you weren't coming? You told me you would be here."

"Well, plans change." Jayden shrugged. "I came home tired from work and I didn't feel like going anywhere. You do that all the time so what's wrong? Why are you angry at me? It's not like it's a date…"

A date? Now he's done it. Jenni gestured for him to come closer. She could feel her temper rising and she didn't want to start arguing with her ex and have a bunch of people eavesdrop on their business.

"A date? A date, Jayden Shiba?" Jenni rested her bowl of fruit on the food weighing scales and placed one hand on her hip. Now, she was angry. "You're right. This isn't a date. I just wanted to hang out with you. If you didn't want to come…" Jenni stopped midsentence. "Are you trying to avoid me?"

"Are you trying to avoid me?" Jayden returned the question. "You wouldn't even tell me hi at your uncle's little dinner party."

"Because you didn't talk to me! I thought you didn't want to talk to me! Your facial expressions are always so freaking hard to read. You could've at least smiled!"

"My facial expressions? That's a joke! You should have a conversation with yourself one of these days."

Jenni rolled her eyes. People were started to stare at them. She sighed deeply. She didn't invite Jayden to this festival to argue with him. She knew they were going to argue though. They never finished cleaning up their last fight which was the day she told him she cheated. She had to admit, both of their communication skills sucked.

Jenni, this time more quietly, asked, "Do…do you like me or not, Jayden?"

"Yes, I really, really like you Jenni." Jayden told her. His answer sounded forced. He wasn't entirely done being mad but his voice was much more quiet. "Do you like me? And tell me the truth. I don't have time for games."

"Yes…" Even Jenni was shocked to hear her answer. Compared to Jayden's, her voice sounds fearful.

"Then why…why did you cheat?"

"Technically, I cheated on Chad…"

"Jenni, shut the hell up!" Jayden could feel his muscles tensing. "Just listen. Why did you do something so…ugly? Jenni, when you told me you cheated, I lost so much respect and trust for you. Forget being a romantic couple, we're supposed to be friends. Really good friends. I'm sorry, but I can't be friends with a woman goes around dating whoever she wants without thinking about the consequences."

"I…I don't know." Jenni leaned her back on the table with fruit in defeat. She started rubbing on her arm with tattoos. Jayden noticed. She only did that when was nervous or felt really bad about something. "I was dating Chad for a while…let's say, a few months before my mom died? I liked him. He was there for me when I told him about the funeral in Japan and he was there for me when I came back. But, I couldn't love him. I tried. I wanted it to work. Sadly, we both knew that wasn't going to happen. We argued a lot…"

Her voice trailed off. She gazed directly into Jayden's eyes. "Look, I used you. I knew what I was doing was wrong but I couldn't get myself to tell you no and that I was in a relationship. When Chad and I went at it…kicking and screaming and such…You made me feel better. I thought once Chad and I called it quits, I could just move on to you and you would never have to find out about him."

"So…I was your guy on the side?"

"Yeah…if you want to put it that way." Jenni lightly laughed. She grabbed Jayden's tense hands. "I am so, so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you. I never knew you were sensitive about this type of thing and even if you weren't, that still doesn't make what I did right. Can we just start over? I'm trying to change…"

"You guys fight too much." A small female voice said.

"Kiss already!" This time, the voice was male.

Jenni and Jayden turned their heads to see Zoey and Antonio watching them. They wondered how long the other couple was standing there. They laughed and took the couple's advice. Jenni and Jayden leaned in closer to each other and gave each other a long, tender kiss. From somewhere a few feet from them in the tent, they heard someone clapping. When their kiss broke, Jenni wrapped her arms around him tightly and rested her head on his broad shoulders.

"Stop being so clueless, dammit." Jenni whispered in his ear. "I love you."

Jayden grinned when he heard Jenni's normal, aggressive monotone voice come back. She wasn't angry with him anymore and he wasn't angry with her. He squeezed her tightly and kissed the top of her head.

"I love you too."

Aw, yay! Aren't they the cutest? Lol. Thanks for the reviews as usual! Tell me what you think about this chapter. I appreciate it :)
