Bonnie had been in a perpetual bad mood for months. The purple hedgehog pretty much did nothing but eat, sleep, fuck other Far Gones, beat the shit out of her underlings, and stomp around muttering to herself and breaking things. None of the Far Gones liked their leader, but none were dumb enough to try challenging the purple hedgehog.

Bonnie's last challenger had lasted about fifteen seconds against her ability to astrol-project weapons, as though forming them from nothing. Not the old challenger was Bonnie's person toy; tied up in her room for Bonnie to rape when she was feeling particularly horny or pissed off. Pretty much any time she though about Marine.

It was no secret to anyone that Bonnie had had a crush on her former captain since long before the Shift. Back then, Bonnie had been too shy and nervous of herself to say anything, which in turned caused her powers to be weaker and useless in combat. Not being any good at fighting got Bonnie stuck doing on-ship work, which kept her farther from Marine, which made her feel worse, which made her do worse.

It was an endless, frustrating feedback loop, one the Shift had broken. Suddenly Bonnie wasn't some shy, powerless pirate girl, she was the badass leader of a Far Gone pack who could pull swords and guns out of thin air.

'But even that's not enough for her.' Bonnie thought bitterly. She'd gone from loving Marine, to hating her, and back again about twelve times already, and was now stuck somewhere between the two emotions.

Because of this, she was very conflicted when Marine and Blaze up and waltzed right into her Far Gone den, smiling as though they were greeting an old friend. All weapons were pointed at them, including several astrol-projected cannons from Bonnie at floated menacing in the air.

"Hey Bon-Bon." Marine said with a smile. Bonnie glared, "You called me that one time back before the Shift. I was so happy, I thought you'd actually started giving a shit about me. I wasn't too smart back then."

"Ya ain't exactly a genius now. No offence." Marine commented. "What's that supposed to mean?" Bonnie questioned, cannons prepared to fire. Marine shrugged, "Yer spending all thing time trying to plan how to capture me and fuck me brainless, when all ya needed to do was ask without being a bitch about it."

Bonnie's eyes narrowed. "Why are you here?"

"Well, me and Blaze have been really happy lately. Made me remember how much it hurt when we weren't. Then that got me thinking about how much ya must be hurting because of me.." Marine looked down, her guilty expression making Bonnie's eyes widen.

"It ain't right for us to just let you rot in yer own feelin's, especially when it's my fault." Marine said. "Bonnie...I'm in love with Blaze. I have been for years, I doubt you didn't know. I wasn't exactly subtle about it. I'm happy with her, and I don't think we'll be breaking up any time soon. You need to move on, find someone you can be just as happy with." Marine squeezed Blaze's hand, "Someone to love."

Bonnie's hand shook slightly. All she'd need to do is flick her wrist and Marine and Blaze would go up in smoke. But...she couldn't. She hands shook against her control, and tears started welling up in her eyes. "So that's what I do huh? Just stop loving you and find someone else? Is that right?" Bonnie waved her arm, cannons firing at the fire wall. "Well, I guess it's just that easy huh? How could I have POSSIBLY missed it?!" Another arm wave, some cannons fired at the other wall, others simply exploded in mid-air. "All this time I've been going through hell over you, when I could've just stopped caring right!?"

All Bonnie's cannons exploded once in an enormous blast that shook the whole den, but didn't actually hurt anyone. Tears streamed down her face as she glared at Marine and Blaze.

"Who said anything about it being easy?" Blaze asked, "It's gonna hurt like hell. You'll wanna quit, to stop trying and return to what's more comfortable, what's safer. But it won't work to do that. You'll have to keep going, keep fighting passed it. You'll need to be strong. Having friends around will probably help, and if you don't mind, we'd be glad to."

"Yer gonna need to cut the bitchy act though. This," Marine gestured to Bonnie and the Far Gone den, "ain't you. You were cute and a little dorky. I don't know if you realize this, but that'll get you pretty far out there if you let it."

Bonnie just stared, unsure of what she should say or do. She looked down, "Go...just...go." They nodded, "If ya ever need to talk...ya know where we are." Marine said as they left the den.

The following few weeks were quite odd for the feral den. Week one was near silent, Bonnie not leaving her room once while she stayed curled up in her bed, sobbing and occasionally sending for ice cream. Week two was violent, several things getting blown up by an extremely wrathful Bonnie, though she seemed to be avoiding directly attacking people now. Week three was calm, Bonnie outside her room, but not looking thrilled about it.

And week four...things started to change. It would later be discovered that, as Bonnie came to terms, she left her Far Gone state. This, somehow, effected all the Far Gones in her pack, letting them all return to awareness. With Bonnie's pack being the only Far Gone pack left, that meant that the clear minded mobians, for the first time since the Shift, outnumbered the Far Gones.

And Bonnie...she was still in charge of the den, but it wasn't a pack of savages for much longer. Their intentions gradually started moving, up to and including the point that they were actively taking action against other Far Gones to contain and help bring them back to lucidity. The work attracted several scientists over to research the remaining Far Gones.

One such researching caught Bonnie's eye around a month later. She had glasses, and purple fur that almost matched Bonnie's. Bonnie brought this fact up, and the researching laughed a cute, slightly geeky laugh that made Bonnie laugh with her. The researcher's name was Relic, Bonnie learned, and she'd soon be moving to the den in order to continue studying the last of the Far Gones.

Bonnie started aiding Relic in her research, as she knew quite a bit about how Far Gones' minds worked. After a few weeks, they were hanging out even when they weren't doing their research, until finally, almost two months after they met, Bonnie worked up the nerve to ask Relic out on a date.

Relic smiled, "I was wondering when you'd ask."

Bonnie smiled, figuring that maybe, just maybe she'd finally take Marine and Blaze up on their offer to talk...if only to gloat.

Fun fact. This chapter was originally going to be a lemon between Marine, Blaze, and Bonnie. I changed this though, as I felt it would be a bit contrary to Blaze and Marine's point. I know people get a bit angry when I do non-lemon chapters, but fuck it, I enjoy them, and they help develop characters. Plus it worked as a nice loose-end tie before the finale next chapter next week~
