Last time, Laboratory 5 was falling apart, and while Sora, Kairi and the Elric Brothers were attempting to escape, they were chased by a devilish clone of Nina who had a bone to pick from her new playmates! She bit into Edward and copied his intellect and his attributes, not risking his friend's life, Sora led the group away from the demon-girl!
Also inside the collapsing lab was Armstrong, Ross and Block, who entered the building to attempt a rescue! However, reuniting with Ed, Al, Sora and Kairi merely included them on the demon-girl's guest list! Desiring more power, the clone bit into Sora and became stronger, and gained an older teenage appearance. The demon-girl demanded the heroes submission to her whim, but Scar surprised the Fullmetal by providing him and the others with a chance to escape while he fought the demonic girl!
Back outside, Maes and Bradley watched in horror as the 5th Lab fell to pieces, possibly taking the rescue team and the children with it...
But thanks to Armstrong and Kairi's combined durability, they, along with Ross and Block, were able to save Edward, Sora, and Alphonse, who is convinced that after what he and the others have witnessed, things will start to get worse...

Chapter 146: We Few Have Survived
"Many things happened that night, when the Elric Brothers went to Laboratory 5 and discovered the truth about the Homunculus and their goal of sacrificing others for Gold-like power. Sora was kidnapped, yet he freed Kairi from the Homunculi's control, Larxene revealed the Restoration Committee's capture, and a creature of awesome power came out of hiding to commit a crisis yet to come. Xehanort's career and Tuckers mad dreams ended that night while for others, some things have yet to begin…like the Ishbalins' release from Even's laboratory, and Namine's capture by Crimson. Mickey my friend, with such terror and hope awakened in one single night, do you not believe that these events may bring out a war?"
In a tower of unique design, King Mickey Mouse speaks with someone at the highest room in the tower…
"…Each side has played their card, and a royal flush can be catastrophic when used by the dark forces. The Golems, the Homunculi, Xehanort, they're getting closer to winning the game, and that's why I came to you, Master Yen Sid, I came to seek your guidance once again. I want to protect my friends, as well as my country, please master, what should I do?" Mickey asked.
An elderly man with a long grey beard, with WIDELY opened eyes, wearing a blue robe, came off his chair and walked over to the window to his right. He stared into the midnight sky, lit of with glimmering stars with the crescent moon hanging above…
Yen Sid then spoke, "…Colonel Mustang…his friends…the Fullmetal boy…his friends…the new Keyblade wielder…and HIS friends. Three unique souls with a vision of peace and justice have touched the lives of others and became a part of a new cycle of peacekeepers. The more purity shared, the more likely the opposition can be bested."
Yen Sid turned around to face Mickey and continue, "Mickey, for now, as things stand, I cannot grant you any assistance, all I can say is that fate will be the only guidance we'll have. Until the situation calls for it, I will summon you again, and by that time, we will have a reason for your summons…as well as others." Mickey gulped in shock, and asked, "M-Master…have you found them…already?" Yen Sid replied, "I'm still speculating, my friend, but there is a chance that the light we've been seeking will finally show itself. They AND their closest friends will be tested by fate, and if they pass, then an army will have arisen, and we will have a possible hope."
Mickey kneels before Yen Sid and announces, "Fate is not the only force that can watch over them master, I wish to aid the light we already know of. Besides, with the help of Donald and Goofy, I can accomplish anything, even showing you that Sora and Edward are worthy of the title 'Warrior of Light'."
Yen Sid smiled and said, "Hmph, then until they are worthy of the Master Qualifications, you will be my eyes and ears to Amestris and beyond. Tread carefully my friend." Mickey bowed, "As you command Master Yen Sid." Mickey then stood up and left Yen Sid…
Yen Sid sat back into his chair and stared at his crystal ball while wondering, "…the warriors' path is in their hands…but poor Crimson, I fear still for your life, my friend. And before your mind, body and soul become blanketed in eternal despair and hate, I will send you a message…"
Back in Central…
"HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" said a woman in a cute witch costume.
The woman walked with her twin brother, who wore a witch hat and wore leather clothes, the girls literally screamed in joy at the sight of the man's chest and pecks. Alongside the siblings walked a cat in a witch hat. The woman then yelled, "MAKE WAY FOR THIS YEARS HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST WINNERS, THE BLAIR SIBLINGS!"
Edward Elric woke up and found himself in a hospital bed, where to his left; Maria Ross and Denny Block were standing, happy to see Edward awake again.
"Thank goodness! Are you feeling OK?" Ross asked. Edward smiled at Ross and said, "…yeah, I guess…first off, who's yelling?" Ross nervously answered, "…the Halloween costume contest winners since the last 4 years." Ed nodded, "Oh yeah, it's that time of year, huh? Just a sec…" Edward walks over to the nearest window and yells, "SHADDAP FOR ONCE YOU NARSCIST JACK-ASSES!"
"WHO SAID THAT?!" asked the sister. The brother pointed at the Hospital and directly at Edward. The woman snarled, "LET'S GO BEAT'EM UP!" The brother then said, "A hospital patient? Come on Blair, he's just a kid struggling with the health he still has right now." Blair ignored her brother and stormed over to the Hospital…
Back in the Hospital, Ed remembered, "W-wait, where's Al?!" Block scratched his head and said, "He's still in pieces after what happened yesterday." Ed noticed Block looking at a corner of the room, and sitting there was what was left of Alphonse!
"AL!"
Block helped him back to bed and said, "Sir, he's alright-well, not 'alright' as in 'fit as a fiddle' alright, but he's alive and well." Ed sighed and said, "…well, we were lucky again, weren't we bro?" Alphonse looked at Ed, but he looked away, almost as if he was bothered by something…
"Edward, sir!"
Ed was surprised by Ross, who then said, "-I apologize in advance for this!" Ed was confused, but before he could ask what the First Lieutenant meant-.
(SMACK)
-Maria slapped Edward HARD across the face!
Alphonse and Block stared in shock…
As Ed cradled his cheek, Ross said, "…YOU NEARLY DIED AND YOU PUT YOUR BROTHER AT RISK! You need to remember, you're still a child…and you need to start trusting adults with a little more of the work." Ed looked at Maria and said, "…you've got a point lieutenant…I'm sorry…" Ross smiled and nodded, "Just rest up, you've been through enough last night, and I don't want to see you boys get hurt like that again, take care of yourselves." After that, Ross left the room, and was followed by Block…
At that instant, a familiar face popped into the room…
"Hey Fullmetal, when are you going to thank me?"
Edward sighed, "Kairi, shouldn't you be busy harassing Sora?" Kairi replied, "Talking to him, rekindling our friendship, I couldn't stand near him if it wasn't for you two. Sora's been the only friend I ever knew or needed, but then…then I met you boys, brothers who made a mistake, yet even that couldn't separate the last of the Elric family. I wanted to meet with you first and tell you face-to-face…" Kairi sat next to Edward, and then stared into his eyes… "I acknowledge you both as friends, so from here on out, I'm sticking with you to keep your from trouble, alright?" "W-WHAT DID YOU SAY?!" Ed asked. Kairi repeated, "I said I'm coming with you, WHAT ARE YOU, DEAF?! I made up my mind after Sora saved me, so there, I want to come, and that's that!"
Ed shook his head and said, "There's still a chance you might go back to the Homunculus." Kairi then said, "I betrayed them Ed, if I went back, I might go back to being Wrath, and I'd never see Sora again." Ed then asked, "…You really want to get involved with us, don't you?" Kairi grasped Edward's hand and replied, "I do, I won't leave him…"
(CRASH)
"SORA, PLEASE, STOP IT!"
(SMASH)
"Run all you want girl, he's been trained to play 'Cat & Mouse'."
(CLANG)
"HAHA-HA-HA-HAAAAAAA, Did you really think he was your friend?"

"His abandoned predicament against your doorstep was OUR doing!"
(wimper)
"You were so easy to sway…now boy, KILL THE LAST HEIR!"
(Young Kairi touches Young Sora's face)
"It's still you in there…right…Sora?"
"…K…K…airi…"
(SLASH)
"I'll never let Raven hurt you again."
Edward wondered who Kairi was talking about, but he decided to leave it and ask, "Kairi, can you get Sora? We'll need to discuss what to do next." Kairi nodded, "Sure thing Ed, I'll be back in a minute." Kairi stood up from Ed's bed, and patted Alphonse on the shoulder, "Next time you walk, we'll walk as a team (wink)." Alphonse blushed, "W-welcome to the team Kairi."
As Kairi left, Ed laughed, making Al ask, "What's so funny Ed?" Ed replied, "It's this 'team', all four of us are teenage orphans with skills that send bastards crying like babies. I feel like a dad looking after a bunch of nutty kids! Still, I like how the team thing's working out; the friends we travel with are better company than Mustang at least-."
(BASH)
Just then, Blair came into the room and tossed her cat at him!
"SICK'EM, WITCHY!"
"NEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!"
(scratching and hissing)
Elsewhere, in Risembool, Winry was just finishing an Automail set of fingers when she came across a screw with a tag that had the number 67 on it…
"#67? But this was supposed to be on Ed's…shoulder…WHOOPSIE!"
Winry walked back and forth in worry, wondering what happened to Ed without the screw, "Crap-crap-crap-crap-crap-I KILLED HIM, I KNOW IT! Just what is he going to say when his Automail caves?! JEEZ, WHEN GRANNY HEARS ABOUT THIS-!"
"-Hears about what Winry?"
"YIPES!"
Winry turned around to see Pinako glaring at her. Winry then hid the screw behind her back and chuckled, "HA-HA-HA, you'll never believe who stopped by earlier Granny! HA-HA-HA, it was-…a…gorgeous looking boy wearing black, yeah that's it! HA-HA-HA, I'm thinking of asking him out, or wait, do boys ask out or do girls? HA-HA-HA, I ask because-." Just then, a blonde boy in a black hood greeted Pinako in front of the doorway, "Excuse me, where can I find-?"
"HE'S RIGHT THERE, HA-HA-HA, HE'S RIGHT THERE!"
Winry surprised the boy by pulling him into the house and saying, "Come on in, I was just telling my grandmother about you, 'handsome Dan'!" The boy then corrected Winry, "What? Who's 'Dan'? I'm Roxas-." Winry suddenly said, "ROXAS-THAT'S WHAT I WAS GONNA SAY ROXAS! Why didn't you let me finish Roxas? You're silly Roxas. HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-!"
(ring-ring, ring-ring)
Winry rushed to the phone, "H-H-H-H-ELLO, this is Rockbell Automail! H-H-H-H-How can we improve your limbs?"
"Winry, you sound like sugar's been in your diet plan for the 58th time."
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! E-Edward, wussup bro?"
Roxas stood up when he heard the name, making Pinako suspect something…
"Young man, sorry to disturb you. Did you come here looking for something?" Pinako asked. Roxas replied, "W-Well I lost a friend of mine, her name is Xion and she has short, black hair. She's also got blue eyes, a similar black coat like mine, and may at times be seen holding a key-shaped-…walking stick." Pinako thought for a while, remembering seeing someone similar…
"YOU DID SOMETHING RECKLESS, DIDN'T YOU?!" Winry asked while on the phone.
Pinako advised, "We'll talk outside, I think I saw that girl after all." Roxas nodded and stepped out with her…
Pinako then said, "It was around the afternoon, I think I saw your friend walking past the house. She was rather…dazed. It's like she was being drawn somewhere." Roxas gulped in fear, "…it's happening again…mam, do you know where she went?" Pinako replied, "She went over to the old Risembool Mines, that way. Just follow the path, but be careful, these days, Golems are found in the field." Roxas smiled at Pinako and said, "Golems are nothing to worry about, trust me. Thanks mam!"
As Roxas left, Pinako thought, Strange, his attitude and his face…the boy reminds me of someone…
Winry continued speaking on the phone until she said, "Don't worry Ed, I'll head over to Central City and take care of everything, see you then!" Winry hung up the phone and sighed in relief…
"Next time, get it right missy." Pinako said. Winry nodded, "R-right…"
Back in Central City's Hospital, Sora was on the rooftops, staring at the view of the entire city while thinking to himself, Namine was controlling my memories, the Y. O. U. T. H. Orphans are still missing, Rose is out there being held prisoner, and the Philosopher Stone's ingredients involve genocide. Edward's search for the Stone caused him to go off alone and almost die in a lab used by some psycho nutcases called the Homunculus. They're probably not done with us yet, and Edward…he was close…REALLY close to losing it. I can't let him do this anymore…I have to talk to Ed about the stone-.
"Hey there 'Mr. Quiet', wanna yap for a few minutes?"
Sora turned around and saw Kairi, who said to him, "I told Edward I would be coming with you guys, and I have to say, they took it pretty well." Sora scratched his head and said, "…it's not going to be the same Kairi; I'm not the Sora you knew, I'm-…I'm still Namine's Sora. And until I find her, until she tells me the truth, I may never be anyone else."
Kairi suddenly hugged Sora tightly, and gently whispered, "You're all you need to be, nobody else."
Sora was thankful for Kairi's words, so he hugged her back, unsure of what to do in the situation…
"…Kairi…-WAIT-!"
Sora quickly backs away and said, "S-sorry, I just…I…Namine's not the only one I'm looking for…it's Rose." Kairi understood (in a cranky way) and said, "…Ed wants to talk with us. March your ass down to him when you're ready." Sora nodded, "Y-yes mam."
Kairi walked to the door and left, without letting Sora see the tears in her eyes…
As Sora and Kairi entered the room, they found Edward covered in scratched and bruises. Ed then said, "…Alphonse's favorite animal 'marked' me…" Sora suddenly started to chuckle, making Ed yell, "STOP IT, IT'S NOT FUNNY YOU BASTARD!"
As Ed yelled at Sora, Kairi noticed a cat with a witch's hat on her head curl up to her. Kairi looked at Alphonse and asked, "…your favorite animal did this?" Al answered, "She was someone's pet…she left the cat to finish the job." Kairi sweated at the cat's creepy grin as it said the following…
"HAPPY HALLOWEEN (snicker)."
