36; Exactly What I Needed

The next morning, Cassidy felt the warm sun peeking in through her curtains. Surprisingly she had slept through the night with no terrible, werewolfy, nightmares.

Taking a deep breath, she slowly released it as a small smile appeared on her face, before she lazily opened her eyes and saw Isaac beside her. He was already awake and laying on his side facing her, casually watching her as she slowly woke up.

"What?" Cassidy asked, feeling a little self-conscious. She wiped at her mouth, then added,"Was I drooling, snoring or something? You should have woke me up."

"No." Isaac answered with a laugh. "You looked..." He paused for a moment, wishing he could tell her how beautiful she looked first thing in the morning. Instead he went with his second thought. "You just looked peaceful. I didn't want to wake you from that."

She smiled at him, catching his eyes and feeling her heart flip-flop for a moment. She quickly looked away and rolled over to lay on her back.

Staring up at the ceiling and clearing her throat, she asked,"Did you sleep good?"

"Yeah, you?"

"Yeah."

"Cas..." He began to say, getting her attention. She turned her head to look at him, seeing the concern on his face as he continued,"Are you okay?"

"Honestly? I'm... I don't know what I am." She said. "So much happened last night and things are just different now, and I have no idea what to do or what to think and I just-"

"Shh, hey, it's okay." He said, scooting closer to her when he saw her getting upset and overwhelmed. He hesitated for a moment, then reached out to lay his hand on her hip, forcing her to turn back on her side to face him again.

"Look I'm... I'm here for you, Cas. Rather that means talking about what happened or not saying another word. I don't need to know everything, but if you want to say it, I'll listen." He lightly ran his hand up her side to cup the her cheek as he added,"Whatever you need, I'm here. I just want you to be okay."

"Thank you." She said, her voice barely above a whisper.

She softly smiled as she looked at him- really looked at him, and saw how serious he was. He really wanted to be there for her, he really wanted to help. Once again he was coming to her aid, just like he always did. Her own private Superman.

"What do you need? What will help you?"

Blowing out a breath, she stood up from the bed and walked over to the bedroom window. With a slow shake of the head, she said,"I don't know what I need right now."

Looking out the window, the sunlight hitting her face, she added,"I just... I wish I could forget some things. A part of me feels like just jumping in my car and driving away. Just keep going. Just run away, you know?"

"Why don't you?" He asked, causing her to turn around to face him with a confused look on her face. "I don't mean the running away part, but why don't you go for a drive. Clear your head."

She slowly nodded her head, thinking about his suggested as she turned back to look out the window.

"Actually, you know what, I got an idea." He announced as he stood up from the bed.

"What?" She asked curiously as she turned around to look at him.

"It's a surprise." He answered. "Just get dressed and meet me at your car."

"Isaac..." She called out with a laugh, stopping him as he went to walk out her bedroom door.

She opened her mouth to ask him where they were going, but before she could he cut her off,"No questions. Just go with it, okay?"

"But-"

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course." She answered with a smile, not even having to think about the question.

"Then get ready. I'll see you in a few." He said, taking a few steps backward with a huge grin on his face.

Cassidy chuckled as she watched him walk out of her bedroom. She wondered what he had planned and actually felt herself getting excited about it.

After the night she had and the breakup, she needed something to be excited about, and what was better than hanging out with her friend Isaac for some super secret activity?

•••

Minutes later, Cassidy was sitting beside Isaac in the passenger seat of her car, while he was behind the wheel driving across town. He made a quick stop at the convenience store she took him to one time and told her to stay put while he ran inside for a few minutes to grab something.

"What did you get?" Cassidy asked when he returned and slipped behind the wheel of the car.

"It's a surprise." Isaac said with a smile as he placed the bag in the backseat where she couldn't see in it.

While he was distracted putting on his seatbelt, she tried to glance in the backseat, but before she could get too close he caught her and told her to stop peeking. She laid her head back against the headrest with a small chuckle as he pulled back onto the road.

This was quickly reminding her of the time the two hung out and she bought hot dogs, then took him to her favorite place- the rooftop of an old abandoned building.

As that memory hit her, she glanced in the back seat again and sniffed the air. Looking back at Isaac, she asked,"Do I smell hot dogs?"

"Maybe." He answered, trying to keep his plan a secret, but she saw his lip twitch for a moment as he tried to hold back a smile.

"It is, isn't it?" With a gasp, she added,"Are you taking me to the rooftop?"

"Well now that you've ruined the surprise..." He began to say, acting like he was mad. With a smile on his face, he turned to look at her for a moment and added,"Yes. I got us hot dogs and I'm taking you to your rooftop. I figured after the night you had, you deserved to go to your favorite place with your favorite food."

Cassidy watched him with a smile on her face as he pulled the car beside the building and turned it off. He turned to face her to announce that they have arrived at their destination, but she surprised him by throwing herself into his arms. She wrapped her arms around his neck and laid her head on his shoulder, hugging him tight to thank him.

"Thank you." She said, pulling back a little to look at him.

"You're welcome." He said back, happy that he was able to make her feel better. The smile on her face was thanks enough for him.

Reaching into the backseat to grab the bag of food, he looked over at her and asked,"You ready?"

"To eat the best hot dogs in the world at the greatest spot in town with a good friend?" She questioned as she laid a hand on his shoulder. "Of course I'm ready."

"Let's go then." He said with a smile as he opened the car door and stepped out. He walked toward the back of the car, opening the trunk, and grabbing one of the blankets he knew she kept back there.

"Are you trying to seduce me, Isaac?" She joked, reminding him of the last time they were there and they shared a blanket.

Isaac chuckled as he shook his head, then he turned his head to look at her. "Well I do know the way to your heart is hot dogs and a rooftop, but only one thing missing."

"What?"

"No stars." He pointed out as he glanced up at the bright blue sky for a moment. Looking back at her, he added,"I know they're your favorite."

"Well we can just pretend they're out." She suggested. Walking over to him, she took the blanket from his hand and added,"Or just come back another time when they are out."

"Works for me." He smiled as he watched her walk over to the ladder.

He saw her go up on her tiptoes, trying to grab the last rung of the ladder, but just like last time, she still couldn't reach it.

"Hold on, I got it." He announced as he rushed over to stand behind her. He reached up and grabbed the rung with no problem and pulled it down to the ground.

"Show-off." She joked as she flashed him a smile from over her shoulder.

"Shorty." He joked back.

"I'm not that short."

"You're not that tall either."

"Ha ha." She said back sarcastically as she turned around to face two looked at each other for a moment, until she remembered something.

"Oh, hey, will you leave this in the car for me?"

He saw her reached into her back pocket and pull out her cell phone before handing it to him.

"Uh, yeah, sure." He said confused on why she wanted to leave it behind.

"Thanks. See you at the top." She said, turning around and climbing up the ladder- thankfully she had a jeans this time. It was a lot easier to climb in jeans than a dress like last time.

Isaac walked back over to the car to leave her cell phone inside, then made his way over to the ladder. By the time he made it to the top, she had already laid the blanket out and was sitting on it waiting for him.

"You're not hungry, are you?" He joked, seeing how she eyed the plastic bag that held the hot dogs.

"I'm starving! Now get over here, Isaac!" She called out as she patted the blanket beside her.

Isaac laughed as he walked over to her and sat down on the blanket in front of her. He went to reach inside to grab everything, but before he could, she reached inside to grab a hot dog. He playfully slapped her hand, causing her mouth to drop open in shock, then went into a pout as she held her hand against her chest.

"Oh, come on, I didn't hit you that hard." He said, laughing at her antics.

"I just wanted a hot dog." She pouted, causing him to laugh harder.

"What is with you and these hot dogs." He mumbled as he reached into the bag and pulled out a styrofoam box.

"You do not get in between me and hot dogs. It can be very dangerous." She joked,as she took the box from him. With a grin on her face, she opened the box and took out the hot dog.

"I'll remember that." He said.

He watched as she took a bite, quietly moaning as she chewed it up before swallowing it, causing him to shake his head as he laughed at her. She looked over at him with raised eyebrows, wondering why he was laughing at her.

"I just never seen someone get so excited about a hot dog. You are definitely not like I thought you would be."

She tilted her head to the side, unsure how to take that comment. Taking a napkin he held out to her, she wiped at her mouth, then said,"Is that a good thing or bad thing?"

"That's a very good thing." He answered. "It's just... after watching you for years, you think you know how someone is, but then they surprise you."

"Watching me? Yeah that doesn't sound creepy at all." She joked sarcastically.

"I don't mean, like, stalking you. I just mean, from seeing you at school or across the street." He explained with a laugh.

"I was kidding." She said with a laugh of her own. "I know what you mean though. You see someone or hear rumors and think that's who that person is, then find out later you were wrong.

"Or you grow up with someone, thinking you know them, only to realize they are completely different." She added, her voice trailing off as Stiles and Scott crossed her mind.

"You want to talk about it?" He asked as he saw her mood change; going from happy and cheerful, to sad and serious within seconds.

As she sat the hot dog aside and looked down at the blanket, he added,"Does this have something to do with last night? Or why you left your phone in the car?" He carefully watched her, then continued,"Cas, are you avoiding someone?"

"A couple of someones." She felt tears fill her eyes as she raised her head to look at him and softly say,"Me and Stiles broke up."

"I'm- wow, I'm sorry, Cas." He sincerely said.

He couldn't deny he was jealous when they started dating, even though he knew he had no right to be because he never had a chance to begin with. Deep down, all he wanted was for her to be happy- even if that meant being with Stiles. The one thing he didn't want to see was her being hurt like she was now.

"Thanks." She mumbled as she reached up to wipe at her eyes with the sleeve of her shirt. "He was lying to me again. Him and Scott, and even though I know the truth now, I just... I can't trust them. I don't know if I can ever look at them the same again. I don't know if I can ever talk to them again."

"What were they keeping from you? What was so bad that they had to lie again?" He asked. He knew how upset she was the first time they lied to her and couldn't believe they would do it to her again.

Cassidy blew out a nervous breath as she pulled her knees up to her chest. She rested her chin on top of her knees and cut her eyes over to Isaac.

A few tears fell down her face as she quietly said,"I wanna tell you. I want to tell you so badly, Isaac, but I'm scared. I'm scared you'll think I'm crazy and never talk to me again."

"Hey, hey, listen to me... " He began to say as he reached out and wiped a tear from her cheek. "I would never do that. There's nothing you can say that will make me stop talking to you. We're friends, Cas, and I'm always going to be there for you." With a smile, he added,"I mean, Superman would never just abandon Lois Lane, would he?"

She softly chuckled at his joke, then said,"I guess not."

"No, he wouldn't." He stated with a smile.

When he saw her lower her head again, he laid a finger under her chin, forcing her to look at him. "Hey, look at me. I told you, you don't have to tell me anything unless you want to. But no matter what, I am here for you, you are not alone."

"Yeah, but then I'm just as bad as them. I'm keeping things from you and lying to you."

"No you're not." He argued. "I'm not asking anything from you, Cas, but I will be here when you want to share it."

"Thank you." She whispered as she reached out to grab his hand. Giving it a squeeze, she added,"Thank you for all of this. This was exactly what I needed."

"You're welcome, Cassie-Cas." He said with a smile. "Now eat your hot dog. I know how much you were looking forward to it."

Cassidy chuckled at his comment and wiped the tears from her eyes. Looking over at him with a surprised look on her face, she said,"My mom use to call me that."

"I'm sorry." He said, worried he had upset her by using a family nickname.

"No, it's okay." She shook her head. "I like it. I missed hearing it."

"You sure?"

"Mm-hm." She hummed, flashing him that smile that he loves.

The two ate in silence for a few minutes, then after swallowing a bite of food, she wiped the side of my mouth and spoke up.

"You know, Parker is the only who still calls me Cassie. Everyone else calls me Cas, but her. It might be stupid, but I love that she does that. It makes me feel like Mom is still there when I hear it, you know?"

"That's not stupid at all. It's good that she does that." He took a sip of his drink, then added,"Camden always had a nickname for me. I never thought I would miss it until I never heard it again."

"I'm sorry." She softly said, knowing how much he missed his brother. She couldn't even imagine losing Parker. It would devastate her.

"Thanks." He mumbled as he looked down at the blanket for a moment.

"So what was the nickname?" She questioned, curious at what his brother use to call him.

"Uh, no, I am not telling-"

"Come on, Isaac, please, please tell me." She begged.

He looked over at her, seeing the look on her face, and couldn't tell her no. With a sigh, he said,"He use to call me Frogger."

"Frogger? Why?"

"Because I was so lanky when I was little. He said I was basically just limbs hopping around."

"That is just so... " She began to say, before adding in a fit of laughter,"Cute."

"It's not cute. It was embarrassing." He argued. With a laugh of his own, he added,"But, yeah, now honestly, I kind of miss it a little."

"You know I'm going to call you Frogger now right?" She teased.

"Okay, that might cause me to stop talking to you." He joked as he playfully shot her a look.

"Okay, fine, I won't." She laughed as she held up her hands in surrender.

"Besides..." She began to say, her eyes roaming over his body. "You're not all lanky anymore, you grew up very, very well."

Seeing him tilted his drink back and raise his eyebrows at her comment, she realized what she had done. She quickly looked away, feeling her face heat up as she tried to explain.

"I just, you know... you-you, uh, you're not... your grown and not a kid. You are... you know?" She blew out an annoyed breath, knowing she was doing a poor job of explaining- yet she kept trying.

"I just mean, none of us look like we did when we were kids. I had those terrible bangs when I was young remember? And I was basically a stick; no curves or boobs, but now... I got... oh God..."

Her voice trailed off as she lowered her head in embarrassment, no matter what she said she just made it worse. Now she was talking about her boobs; who the hell does that?

"It's okay." He laughed, putting her out of her misery. When she raised her head to look at him, he quickly looked away before he got caught checking her out. Clearing his throat, he added,"I knew what you were saying."

"Okay, good." She laughed.

"Yep, good." He repeated.

"So, I guess I will just stick with calling you Superman." With a smile, she added,"I like that better anyways."

"Works for me, Cassie-Cas." He said back as he looked over at her with a grin on his face.

•••

After lunch on the roof, Cassidy dropped Isaac off at the cemetery for work. She offered to pick him up later, but he declined the offer, saying he would just ride his bike home.

Earlier before they left her house, they put his bike in the back of her car for him to use later. He told her not to worry about him, to worry about herself and to find something fun to do for the rest of the day.

Taking his advice, she went to the mall and planned to shop the day away, but wasn't in the mood. Instead, she decided to drive around on backroads with the windows down and the music blaring. Somehow that always healed her soul.

She wasn't sure how long she had driven, but when she saw the sun began to set, that's when she figured it was time to head home.

While sitting at a stop sign, she reached over to the center console and grabbed her cell phone, turning it back on after turning it off earlier that day.

Right away, she saw she had a text from Parker checking in on her and saying she would be home in a day or two. She didn't know her sister was still healing from a fight with the alpha. Parker planned to tell her, but wanted to wait until they were face to face- which wasn't going to happen until Derek thought she was well enough to return home.

She also saw she had a few texts from Stiles and Scott. She debated for a minute if she should read them or not, then glanced over the first one from Stiles and felt a pain in her heart. After that she decided to go ahead and delete the rest without looking.

Lastly, she noticed she had a missed call from Allison, but no new message. Wonder what she wanted, she called her back and placed the phone to her ear as it began to ring.

"Hey, I saw that you called, but didn't get a message. Is everything okay?" Cassidy said as soon as Allison answered the phone.

"Yeah, sorry, I was... I thought I wanted to talk, but once it started ringing I realized I didn't feel like talking anymore." Allison said with a sigh.

"Are you sure you're okay, Ally? Is this- Is this about last night at school?" Cassidy asked with a concerned tone.

She could understand if that was the case. After what happened a part of her wanted to talk- like earlier with Isaac- she wanted to tell him everything and have him comfort her, but another part of her wanted to hide and never speak to anyone again. A part of her just wanted to be a shut-in for the rest of her life.

"Yeah, what happened at school and afterwards." Allison answered.

"What happened afterwards?" Cassidy asked confused.

"I-I broke up with Scott." Allison said, barely above a whisper. She sniffed and wiped away the fresh tears on her face. "I'm sorry. I'm such a mess today. All I've pretty much done is cry and stop myself from calling him. I'm so stupid."

"You're not stupid. Breakups are hard." With a sigh, she added,"Trust me, I know. Today has been hard for me too."

"Because of the school stuff?"

"That and what happened afterwards." Cassidy said, copying her answer from earlier. "I broke up with Stiles."

"Wow, today's not a good day for the broken hearted, huh?"

"Yeah, if it wasn't for Isaac, I would have been locked in my room all day crying my eyes out."

"Whoa, wait, you were with Isaac today?" Allison questioned.

"Yeah, why?" Cassidy asked, wonder what the big deal was.

"Nothing. I was just going to say that is a good way to get over someone... get under someone new." Allison said with a small chuckle.

"It wasn't that like that. No one was getting over or under anyone." Cassidy pointed out. "We're just friends, you know that. It was just nice having someone to talk, keep my mind off of last night."

"I decided to hang out with a gallon of ice cream today. Didn't really get the job done though. Now I just feel fat and sad."

"I can go buy more ice cream and stop by. We can hang out, watch stupid movies and be fat together."

"That sounds great, really it does, but I'm not in the mood for company tonight. I just kind of want to have a pity party for one."

"How about tomorrow?"

"Can't. Dad wants to have a family day tomorrow." Allison answered. "How about monday after school? That is if dad even lets me go to school."

Cassidy softly chuckled at the comment, feeling a little jealous, wishing her own father cared that much. She shook her head, getting rid of those thoughts, then said,"We'll do it monday then."

"Sounds good. Talk to you then." Allison said ending the call.

Lowering the phone, she glanced at it and saw she had a few new texts from Stiles that came through while she was talking to Allison. She blew out a breath, then tossed her phone into the passenger seat, not having the heart to read them or delete them this time.

Pulling away from the stop sign, she turned onto her road and headed for the house. As she pulled into the driveway, she was surprised to see someone laying in the front yard.

She turned the car off, then stepped out into the dark night with her eyebrows lowered in confusion. She glanced around for a moment, not seeing anyone else or any vehicles nearby. She cautiously took a step toward the person, then sighed in relief when she saw who it was.

"Stiles?" She asked as she came to a stop beside him and looked down at him.

"Do you remember when we-we were little and we, uh, we use to lay out here like this... looking for your mom?" Stiles asked as he looked up at the stars above.

"Yes, I remember. What are you doing here, Stiles?"

"I remember you use to love looking at stars and I use to love looking at you. I always looked at you, Cassidy, because I knew from a young age that you were the one for me."

"Stiles, are you drunk?" She asked concern.

Sitting up, he nodded his head, then said,"I drank till it didn't hurt anymore, which didn't work because it still hurts."

"We need to get you home. How did you get here?" She asked as she glanced around again, thankful that she didn't see his Jeep. Looking back at him, she added,"Did you walk here?"

"Me and Scott were drinking far... I mean not far from here and I just started walking and came to you. No matter what I always come back to you." He slurred.

"Okay, we need to get you home." She softly said as she held her hand out for him to take to help him stand up. She couldn't have this conversation with him now- not when they were both still hurting so badly.

"Sit with me, Cas. Please, sit with me." He begged. "I need you to sit with me until I can get you to forgive me. I can't lose you, Cas."

"Don't do this, Stiles." She whispered as tears filled her eyes.

"I'm sorry, you have no idea how sorry I am. I screwed up, I know I did, but I promise I won't lie to you, ever, ever again. Cassidy, please, give me another chance." He said, wrapping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her stomach.

Cassidy sank down to her knees in front of him as she said,"Stiles, please don't make this harder than it is."

"Cassidy..." He began to say as he looked at her with a drunken stare. He reached up with both hands to push her hair out of her face, then rested his hands on either side as he continued,"Cassidy, I love-"

"Don't." She stopped him as she slapped her hand across his mouth. He mumbled out against her hand, trying to talk, but she just shook her head and pleaded with him,"Just don't, okay? Don't say another word and let me take you home."

He shook his head back and forth, finally getting his mouth away from her hand, then tried to speak up again,"But I do. God, I do. I have loved you for years and I-"

"Stiles, please, stop." She begged as tears rolled down her face.

She quickly stood up, then turned away to wipe the tears from her face. Turning back around, she sighed when she saw Stiles laying on the ground on his back and looking at the stars again.

"Stiles, come on. Let's get you home." She said, leaning down to wrap her arms around him and trying to pull him up.

It wasn't an easy job, but she was finally able to pull him up on his feet, then took a step back. He swayed back and forth a few times and almost fell, until she wrapped her arms around him again and almost got pulled back down with him.

She opened her mouth to tell Stiles she needed his help to stay up or they would both fall, but before she could say a word, she heard someone call out her name. Looking over her shoulder toward the road, she saw Isaac riding his bike toward her.

He was just arriving home from work and saw Cassidy in her yard with someone. He couldn't tell who it was or what they were doing to her, making him pedal faster to get to her just in case she was in any kind of danger.

"What's going on?" Isaac asked in concern as he dropped his bike and raced over to her side. Getting closer, he lowered his eyebrows in confusion when he saw her holding up a drunk Stiles.

At hearing his question, Stiles raised his head and scoffed when he saw Isaac.

"Of course Isaac comes to the rescue." Pushing away from Cassidy, Stiles stumbled a little, then luckily caught his balance. "I mean, that's what you do right, Isaac? I screw up and you come riding in to save the day."

"Stiles, you're drunk-"

"No shit, Captain Obvious." Stiles snapped, interrupting what Isaac was going to say.

"Stiles!" Cassidy called out as she looked over at him with a disappointed look on her face. "Look, I know you're upset and mad, I am too, but aim it toward me. I'm the one you're mad at, not Isaac. This is between us."

"No, no, it's not." Stiles argued as he held up a hand to stop her. "This has never been between us..." He motioned between them, then pointed over at Isaac and continued,"This involves him too. It has always involved him. He doesn't think I know, but I see it." Looking over at Isaac again, he squinted his eyes at him and added,"I see it, Isaac. I see it."

"See what?" Isaac asked confused.

Stiles opened his mouth to answer, but before he could, Cassidy stepped forward and wrapped an arm around him to hold him up when he began to sway again.

"No, you know what? We are not doing this." She stated, putting an end to the conversation. "There's nothing to see. You are drunk and I'm taking you home."

Without her having to ask, Isaac rushed over to her car and opened the passenger side door. He would have helped her bring Stiles to the car, but figured it would set him off again and he didn't want to do. He could tell Cassidy was already upset enough- one more drunk rambling and she might just fall apart.

After she got Stiles in the seat- which was not an easy thing to do- Isaac shut the car door. They both looked inside and saw Stiles had his head laid back against the seat with his eyes closed.

She breathed out a sigh of relief, glad to see he was passed out for now. Turning back to look at Isaac, she shot him a small smile to thank him.

"You okay to take him home?" Isaac asked.

"I will be." Cassidy softly said. "Thanks."

Isaac nodded his head at her answer, then took a few steps back. He watched her walk around to the driver side door, then slipped behind the wheel.

She glanced over at Stiles for a moment, wondering how they got here. How did they go from being best friends, to girlfriend and boyfriend, and now this; drunk ramblings and fights on her front lawn?

Shaking her head, she started the car and pulled out of the driveway to take him home.

It was a silent drive back to the Stilinski house. She parked the car on the street in front of the house, then turned the car off.

A quick glance at the driveway told her his dad wasn't home, which was a good thing. She had no idea how she would have explained this situation to him without getting Stiles into a lot of trouble.

Looking back at a passed out Stiles, she shook his shoulders a little and softly said his name a few times, until he finally jumped away.

He glanced around in confusion and saw he was in front of his house, then looked over beside him to see that it was Cassidy that took him home. He barely remembered going to her house and now he was at his house?

How long was he out for?

"You haven't been asleep for long. Just the trip over here." Cassidy said, as if she could read his mind.

"How- How did you... How did you know that's what I was thinking?" Stiles asked with a confused look on his face.

"Because you didn't think it. You asked it out loud."

"Oh." He mouthed. He rubbed his hands over his face to wake himself up, then he looked over at her and asked,"What happened?"

"What happened is you got drunk off your ass, walked to my house, caused a huge scene, was rude to Isaac-"

"Isaac was at your house?" He cut her off in surprise. He didn't give her a chance to answer as he scoffed, then said,"Of course he was."

"What's that suppose to mean?" She asked as she snapped her head to the side to look at him.

"Nothing." He mumbled as he laid his head back against the seat.

He was silent in thought for a minute, then couldn't stop himself from asking the question that has haunted him lately.

"You're into him, aren't you?"

"What?" She asked confused.

"Isaac."

"Stiles, I told you, me and Isaac are just friends." She explained with a sigh, not liking where this conversation was going.

"You might say that, but-but there is something there." He stated. "I see it. I know it. What to know how I know it?"

"How?" She asked with an annoyed look on her face. She didn't want to listen to his drunk ramblings again, but decided to humor him anyways.

"'Cause he looks at you the way I look at you." He answered as he rolled his head to the side to look at her. A sad look appeared on his face as he added,"And the really bad part is... you look at him the exact same way."

"Stiles-"

"Don't." He interrupted her. "Just don't deny it."

Without another word, he opened the door and slipped out of the car, almost hitting the ground, but thankfully caught himself in time.

"Stiles!" She called out as she quickly jumped out of the car to help him.

"I'm fine." He mumbled as he brushed her aside and began to walk toward the front door.

As much as she didn't want to discuss all of this now, she also didn't want to leave things the way they were. She began to follow along behind him and tried to get him to stop, but he didn't want to hear anymore.

"Hey, it's cool. I get it." He shrugged as he kept walking away.

"You get what?" She asked confused. "Stiles, will you just stop?"

"I screwed up!" He exclaimed as he did what she asked and came to a stop. Turning to face her, he threw out his arms and added,"I know I did, but now I'm starting to wonder if you were just waiting for me to screw up so you'll feel better about screwing around behind my back."

"What? Stiles I never... I didn't... Stiles!" She tried to explain, until she noticed he was ignoring her.

Without a word, he turned and began walking again. He heard her yell out his name a few more times, but he ignored that as well and walked into the house, slamming the door behind him.

Cassidy scoffed in disbelief at the way he was acting and the things he said. She never screwed around with anyone behind his back. She couldn't believe he would even say that to her. It was like he was trying to put all the blame on her, when it was him that was lying to her the whole time.

Pulling in a deep breath, she bit her bottom lip to keep from crying. She would not fall apart now.

Looking at the Stilinski house one last time, she turned and walked to her car in a daze. She barely remembered the drive home, but when she parked in the driveway she was surprised- yet relieved- to see Isaac sitting on her porch step waiting for her.

When she stepped out of the car, he stood up and began to walk over to her. He saw the heartbroken look on her face and could tell she was trying to be strong, but was on the edge of breaking. He didn't say a word, he just took her into his arms and held her close as tears began to fall from her eyes.

As she broke down in his arms, everything began to hit her at once; all the lies being exposed, learning that werewolves were real and even worse- her childhood friend was one now. There was also the breakup with Stiles, the fighting and all the hurtful words he just threw at her.

She latched onto Isaac and buried her face in his chest as all the confusing feelings for him crossed her mind. She was honest with Stiles before, she had never cheated on him, but after all the time she spent with Isaac lately, was it possible that she was starting to feel something for him?

She knew that was a question she needed to answer, but she couldn't now. Right now, she was too hurt and confused to sort through all her thoughts- right now all she could do was cry on the shoulder of a really good friend.
