Balloon Animals

"A sword? Again?" Daniel groaned. "That's the fiftieth one! I thought you said you knew how to make balloon animals."

Merritt just grinned and finished twisting the balloon into a sword.

"No, I said I knew my way around balloons. You didn't ask for clarification. I could provide some now, if you'd like."

He wiggled his eyebrows suggestively and Daniel shook his head in disgust. Turning away, he grabbed another balloon and connected it to the air pump. The small apartment was littered with balloons of every shape and color with quite a large amount of balloon swords. The door swung open and Henley and Jack walked in, being careful to step over the balloons. Each carried plastic bags filled to the brim with packs of balloons and Merritt and Daniel both groaned.

"How big is this safe?" Merritt whined. "Surely we have enough balloons by now."

"Not even close, big guy." Henley grinned, plopping down on the couch beside Daniel.

"Yeah," Jack was far less amused as he sank to the floor near Merritt and began tearing a bag of balloons open. "Only another five billion to go."

Merritt putting the finishing touches on the sword and grinned. Daniel saw and shook his head, opening his mouth to warn Merritt against whatever it was he was about to do, but the mentalist moved a tad too quickly. Reaching across the gap with the balloon sword in hand, he whacked the unsuspecting sleight upside the head. Sputtering, Jack stared wide eyed as Merritt brought the sword around and hit him again. Jack grinned and scrambled to his feet, grabbing his own balloon sword in the process.

"Don't…" Daniel had barely started the sentence when a sword hit him upside the head.

He turned to glare at Henley who just grinned innocently and waved, sword in her other hand. By that point, Jack and Merritt were jumping around the room, swinging their swords like children with balloons popping as Merritt plowed right through them in an effort to get to the faster man. Daniel turned to tell them to stop, but Henley simply reached out and hit him again.

"Come on, Danny." She grinned. "Afraid I'll beat you again?"

"Th-that never happened." Daniel argued, getting to his feet and backing away as Henley playfully swung at him with the balloon sword.

Rubbing his forehead as more balloons popped in the background, Daniel knew they were all going to regret this later when their hands were sore from tying all the replacement balloons plus the other five billion still needed to fill the safe. But he reached down, grabbed his own balloon sword, and prepared to defend himself.
