"AHHHHHHHHHHH YAKUNAAAAAN! WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?!" Garmadon cried.

Suddenly, a golden light surrounded Lloyd; he rose into the air, being healed instantly.

"Son? What in the name of Ninjago-"

Lloyd looked up, his eyes glowing a sharp gold. The Overlord ran over to see what the ruckus was about.

Garmadon scrambled back.

"Deep, deep in my soul. There's a burning feeling I can't describe. A burning feeling that WON'T let me die. Lloyd glared at Yakunan. "This isn't just about my team anymore, is it? If you get past me, you'll... You'll destroy them all, won't you? Humans... My family... Everyone... Everyone's hopes. Everyone's dreams. Vanquished in an instant. But I WON'T let you do that. Right now, everyone in this world... I can feel their hearts beating as one. And we all have ONE goal. To defeat YOU. Overlord, WHATEVER you are. For the sake of Ninjago...I, LLOYD MONTGOMERY GARMADON, will strike you down!"

The Overlord and Xenudah went into a retreat, scared for their life. Garmadon's eyes teared up, and the two of them embraced one another.

"Oh, Lloyd..." Garmadon cooed softly, caressing his son's hair as he began to sob. "I missed you so much..."

"I'm practically immortal..." Lloyd whispered, returning the embrace. "Something happened..."

"Most likely my father." Garmadon's voice shook a little bit. "But...now we're together... I was so upset...I thought I lost you for good..."

"Lloyd!" the others cried out, joining the father and son.

Zena was happy. "EEEEEEE! LLOYD!" she shrieked, tackling him into a tight hug.

"ZENA!"

Garmadon smiled softly, glad he didn't have to lose his son after all. "C'mon...let's go home..." he took his son's hand once Lloyd pulled away.

"Yeah, Dad..."

The group summoned their elemental dragons and flew back to the monastery. The father and son sat down together on the couch. Lloyd sighed softly.

"Can you hold me...?" he asked.

"Mmmhmm... Oh, Lloyd..." Garmadon pulled him into another embrace. "I don't want to let you go..."

"Me too..." Lloyd whimpered.

"Shhhhh..." His father softly consoled. "I'm here...I'm right here...it's going to be alright..."

"I love you so much..."

"I know... I know exactly how you feel..." Garmadon whispered. "I know you don't want to leave me. I don't want to leave you either. After I thought you died...I just...couldn't take it...I thought I lost you for good. Stay here. I lost you once, I won't lose you again. I should've been more careful..."

"X-Xenudah took me while I was sleeping..." Lloyd sobbed. "And then later he said he was gonna...gonna-"

"Lloyd," Garmadon cut his son off, holding him tighter. "It's alright...it's over. Don't worry. I'll...I'll make sure they pay for what they did to you... I can't talk about this anymore... It hurts me too much..." he choked back a sob. "I'm just so glad you're here..."

"M-Me too..." Lloyd sobbed quietly.

A few minutes later, Garmadon finally calmed down.

"There is something that I haven't told you," he began.

"Huh?" Lloyd shrugged his shoulders in confusion.

Garmadon let out a soft sigh, not wanting to mention the past, but nevertheless, he had to in order to get his point across. "Lloyd, when...when you died...I never realized that...well...you're one of us now..."

"One of us? What does that mean?" Lloyd seemed even more confused.

"Remember how I said that our powers combined with Wu's would be able to defeat the Overlord and Xenudah?"

"Yeah?"

"That's still true. But your powers have only grown stronger-"

"I thought I was supposed to defeat the Overlord. Wasn't that my destiny? Why isn't he dead yet? Why isn't his son dead yet? I don't understand." Lloyd held his face in his hands and groaned.

"You still are destined." Garmadon took a deep breath and gently put a hand on his shoulder. "But you are stronger than you realize. What the Overlord did just years ago was merely a tactic to gain the upper hand. You were always so much stronger than I. If the battle had been between the two of us, I never would've stood a chance, nor would I ever want to."

He let out a sigh, their eyes meeting. "That's why...when you disabled the mech so long ago, I never fought back. I knew for a fact that you were so much stronger than I ever had been. I would have lost easily. But...the fear of losing you—either way it would've happened—it practically tore me apart... That battle never truly happened. I'm just glad we're together now."

Lloyd smiled and held his father close. "I love you, Dad..."

"I love you too, Lloyd." Garmadon returned the gesture.

"Don't leave." Lloyd shuddered.

Garmadon ran a hand through his hair. "I won't..." he reassured. "Your powers can override death. I would have died with Yakunan's dragon form, but your powers brought me back to you. That's most likely how you got resurrected as well."

Lloyd felt his eyes tear up. "D-Dad...n-never let me go..."

"Alright...alright..." Garmadon gave his son a soft nod, holding him tight against himself. "I've got you, Lloyd. I won't let go. Not ever. Not again."

Lloyd gave a soft yawn, curling up against his father. "I'm so tired..." he murmured.

"Go ahead and sleep. You need it," Garmadon replied, stroking his hair lovingly. "It's alright...everything's alright...I'm here...I'm here..."

"Thanks..."

"Of course... Shhh... We'll get through this together...I'll be with you every step of the way."

Lloyd smiled contentedly. He was glad his father didn't have to lose him...he wanted to stay forever. He wouldn't have it any other way.
