Yu-Gi-Oh! Dissidia

Pursuing the Seal of Orichalcos, Shark and his friends fall right into their enemies trap. Not yet will they be defeated, it is mental torture that they are being targeted for.

In the past Shark harmed his friends greatly, sealing their souls in Barian World. Now he finds himself up against an even more brutal force than the hatred of his greatest enemy – that of several enemies.

Is it too much to bear...?

Destiny Draw 43-III

The emptiness and the wide-open spaces of the wastelands were disturbed by two roiling clouds of dust.

"Come on, come on!" Shark yelled, pushing his cycle as far as the restricted engine would let him. He was doing his best to keep up with Jack, and had even off-loaded Yami Yugi to Jack's Duel Runner mid-trip, but the more powerful Duel Runner was being slowed down.

But despite Shark's insistence, neither Jack nor Yugi would leave him behind.

Yami Yugi was briefing Jack and Shark on the full details as they continued to speed along. "It has to be Dartz, it can't be anyone else," he explained. "Only Dartz would think to defy the rules of the conflict so blatantly!"

"Rules of the conflict?" Jack asked.

"Victory is decided equally!" Yami Yugi replied. "The Seal of Orichalcos being used at this stage…it's unthinkable! It would bring a premature end to the fight!"

"Premature?" Shark asked. "What do you know that we don't?"

Yugi looked surprised too, but he tried his best not to show it.

Yami Yugi looked uncomfortable. "Zorc and Horahkty…they agreed on a truce to fight," he reminded them.

"And we're their instruments, we get it!" Shark yelled. "Are you saying that the events, but not the outcome of this conflict are being predetermined?"

Shark's lip curled as he saw Yami Yugi look at the ground.

"So, I'm gonna end up dueling one particular guy whatever happens?" he asked.

Yami Yugi looked up and he looked Shark in the eye. "Yes," he replied. "Horahkty told me when she saved us from Reshef."

"So we're just dancing to strings, are we?" Jack asked in disgust.

"Destiny has guided us all!" Yami Yugi replied. "Even when we defy it, we have been its pawn and ally!"

Jack scowled. "Hmph. You've got a point there…" he muttered.

"Can we just get over this?" Shark snapped. "Whatever the whole destiny thing we've all got going on, the fact remains that someone's in big trouble because of Dartz throwing a hissy fit!"

"Shouldn't you be worrying about yourself?" a voice asked.

Before Shark could pull up short, an overlay network opened up in front of him. He shut his eyes instinctively as he drove into it, feeling himself break down and dissolve, and rematerialize after a short while.

Yami Yugi gasped as Shark vanished. "Shark!" he yelled.

"Coming around!" Jack yelled, swerving the Phoenix Whirlwind around. But before he could even complete the turn, the overlay network vanished.

A sneering chuckle echoed through the air, a different voice than the one that had spoken. "Well, look who it is, those little friends of Nash's!"

Vector was hovering above them in Barian form, sneering as best his mouthless face could.

"I don't understand what poor little Yubel finds so hard about finding people that she's looking for!" Vector commented. "What about you, Aporia?"

"Aporia?" Jack asked in shock. He swerved to see the massive android descending to his eye level.

"So, we meet once again, Jack Atlas," Aporia mused. "Where is your hope now?"

In a place forsaken by time itself…

Shark gasped as he emerged into another wasteland, sandy like the first where he'd entered the conflict, but these were sands of red. Fortunately, not the red that he'd seen for so long in Barian World or those that he'd witnessed beforehand in his campaign against Vector.

Vector, Shark thought angrily. "That was Vector's overlay network," he muttered.

"Oh, he's the least of your problems now, Nash," the voice that he'd heard before his transportation commented.

Shark swung his head to the right and saw Yami Bakura sitting on top of a massive fiend monster that resembled a cross between a crab and a demon. It wielded a massive claw on one arm, had six claw-like spider limbs, and dragged a heavy abdomen behind it. Twin spikes crowned its head and teeth filled its maw.

"Tragoedia?" Shark asked in confusion as he recognized the monster from his tournament days.

The fiend roared, and Bakura chuckled.

"He doesn't like you," he commented. "But then, he never did like kings. We share that in common; we even hate the same Pharaoh."

Shark frowned angrily. "Atem?" he asked.

Yami Bakura chuckled again. "Ah…he thought that it would be that easy, finding his name to win…" he commented.

"What are you babbling about?" Shark snapped. "What do you want anyway?"

Bakura smiled fiendishly, and Shark drew back. The smile was more horrifying even then the sheer insanity on Yami Marik's face, for this was not a smile of evil, but one of pure darkness and promise of something worse to come, no matter the outcome.

He wondered whether Bakura Ryo, the boy whose body had been controlled by Yami Bakura, was in the conflict, or whether Yami Bakura had left him behind. He wasn't exactly convinced that Bakura could make such nasty smiles on his own.

Yami Bakura's words snapped him back to reality. "To hurt you…to hurt the Pharaoh…" he said.

Shark's blood ran cold. "Not happening!" he yelled, starting up his cycle and speeding off.

Yami Bakura laughed. "You can't escape your fate!" he yelled as Tragoedia sprang from the ground. "Just as your friends can't escape from Vector and the others!"

Shark gritted his teeth as he heard the words. Then he flinched as a blast of power hit the ground beside him.

Shoot!, he thought. That was way too close! I gotta fight back or I'm finished! He drew out a card. Help me out again, Abyss!, he urged the spirit. "Come forth, Number 73: Abyss Splash!" he yelled.

The giant ocean deity appeared above Shark, and swatted away a second power beam.

Yami Bakura snorted. "A monster summoned by a single sacrifice?" he asked. "Try ninety-nine!" he hissed. "Those were the sacrifices that fed both Tragoedia and this monster!" he screamed.

With a horrible hiss, another monster appeared above him. This creature looked less dangerous, and indeed, more regal than Tragoedia, with soft grey skin and feather-like wings. Its face resembled a more humanoid version of Abyss's; it had twin powerful arms, and notably, a snake-head in place of legs.

"Diabound Kernel, show him the true meaning of hatred!" Yami Bakura yelled.

Diabound and Tragoedia charged towards Abyss. Diabound went in first, grabbing hold of Abyss's staff and trying to wrestle it away from the water deity. Abyss heaved the fiend aside, wrenching his weapon free, and then powered up, conjuring a massive wave of water behind him and blasting a fork of purple lightning from its staff at Diabound. The lightning hit dead on, blasting Diabound backwards.

Tragoedia fired a beam of dark power from its maw, hitting Abyss in the shoulder.

Shark clutched his own shoulder as he felt the injury and gritted his teeth. "Get him, Abyss Splash!" he yelled, doing his best to keep his cycle on course.

Abyss powered up again, swatted aside Diabound again, and fired a lightning blast at Tragoedia. The larger fiend twisted its body to block the blast, and it bellowed in pain.

On its back, Yami Bakura swayed as Tragoedia floundered, but he didn't look annoyed. More, he looked exhilarated. "That's it, Nash," he muttered. "Keep fighting. Keep suffering, and feed the darkness!" He waved his arm. "Now, Diabound! Helical Shockwave!"

Diabound blasted a wave of wind-like power from its chest at Abyss. The ocean deity quickly spun his staff in his left hand, driving the blast back and dispelling it.

Tragoedia blasted Abyss's shoulder again, and Abyss groaned in pain. He retaliated with a sweep of his staff, and Tragoedia ducked handily.

Diabound charged forwards and grabbed Abyss's other arm, also wrapping its snake trunk around Abyss's waist.

"Shake him off, Abyss Splash!" Shark yelled, and Abyss complied, wrenching Diabound painfully, and then slamming it down on the ground. He raised his staff and powered up again, firing another lightning blast that Diabound dodged quickly.

Tragoedia attacked again, firing another energy beam. Abyss responded in kind, blasting another lightning fork at Tragoedia and intercepting its blast. He saw Diabound spring into the air, attempting to attack from above, and Shark grinned.

"He's wide open, Abyss Splash!" Shark crowed.

Abyss switched his staff to his other hand and grabbed Diabound by the throat. Diabound's snake head darted out on its tail, but Abyss forced a power surge through his staff to dispel Tragoedia's power beam and then slammed the staff down on the neck of the serpent-headed tail. Abyss then smacked Diabound in the stomach with the hilt of his staff.

Yami Bakura was laughing. "You fool!" he cried. "Don't you remember how Diabound attacks?!"

Shark cursed as Yami Bakura yelled, "Helical Shockwave!" and Diabound blasted its power wave from its chest, throwing Abyss off it. Diabound snarled as it rubbed its throat and it lashed out, driving Abyss back further.

Abyss drew back his staff to power himself up and Tragoedia struck, grabbing the ocean deity's arm. Abyss turned and slugged the larger fiend across the face, but he'd opened himself up to a bite from Diabound's tail, and the Number bellowed in pain.

Shark had felt the bite as well, and he crumpled over on his cycle. Shoot!, he snarled. I gotta summon another monster…

"I don't think so, Shark," Yami Bakura commented.

Shark swerved to see the spirit of the Millennium Ring standing right behind him with that same dark smile on his face.

"Someone wants you to suffer," Bakura explained. "And it just so happens that such suffering plays into my hands quite nicely."

The Millennium Ring glowed, and before he blacked out, Shark could only think in cold fury, Not again…

Now, reviewers, let questions be answered and ponder your new ones.

sonofthetrigod: Thank you. I remembered that you wanted to see Terra Firma (whether or not that'll be the only time he shows up, I'm not yet sure.) And I'm still deciding on the other Winged Kuribohs. I MIGHT have the TCG effect for LV9 be used as a counter card.

gamergirl101: Dartz indeed and I regret that he's been underused. That said, the next chapter should fix that particular problem.

Peter Kim: I'm going to be honest, that never occurred to me, a Speed Spell Seventh One, but I probably wouldn't have had it anyway. I dislike using the Shining and Chaos Draws, but they'll make a tweaked appearance. Yeah, Jack definitely would have been in trouble, but don't forget that the Seventh One can rank up monsters in the graveyard as well.
Oh, hell yeah. I did see it as a possibility, but I thought that it would be like Constellar Ptolemy M7 rather than actual Rank-Ups. Nor did I see TWO Rank Ups coming. Well, if the facts are right, Shun IS from Heartland. They might have been made there by ARC-V.
Arguably, yes, but he doesn't want to be too reminded of what he did. That being said, he's always been ruthless.

jalen johnson: I can't either. Two villain candidates so far, the Professor and Leo Akaba. I'm so hoping that Leo will be a good villain. But I must know who will be the third hero! Will it be Gong? Sawatari? Or Yuto?

Vergil1989 The Crossover King: Thanks again for gracing my insanity (laughs). Yeah, she's a sorry sight here, I will admit. Poor Yubel.

Spyrofan777: Thanks for your questions; I've also put the answers down here so that everyone can see them.
No. They only have access to their own dragons from the anime and the manga (Yusei's extra deck in particular is going to be pretty chocker as it is.)
Yes. They will use both of them.
Vector does. He's been taken in the timeline from before his final duel with Nash, so he has Giant Hand, Star Caestus, Ragnazero, and Star Seraph Sentry in addition to his own, as well as the other Numbers that Alito and Girag used, for example. Shark only has his own Numbers at the moment, but he'll get a few more.
Yugi and Yami Yugi have been taken from in between the Ceremonial Battle and the defeat of Zorc in the Memory World, so they have all three God cards (but they can't use Ra at the moment since Yami Marik also has it, and the conflict's rules of equality have sealed it off from Yugi.) Kaiba was taken from after the Ceremonial Battle and thus he didn't have Obelisk. However...ah, no spoilers.

I apologize for the length of time that this took, but the thing is…my two brothers and I kinda got the Master Chief Collection for Christmas, and then I got Pokémon Omega Ruby from my mate. Plus, we had Xbox LIVE for two weeks. I thus had to balance screen time (despite the fact that half my holidays are already confirmed for outside.) So…yeah. That's what happened.
