Gwen's POV
Later on that night I came downstairs and noticed Huey and Riley watching the news. Apparently Ganstalicious is hospitalized here in woodcrest. Riley's definitely gonna wanna visit him. I grabbed a banana and went back upstairs to my room.
During the week Riley tried everything possible to get to the hospital, well everything short of sneaking out and walking there. He threw himself down the stairs, and threw himself behind Grandad's car. He got his chance when he drank all of grandads OJ straight from the carton. He was suppose to just go the store and come right back with more OJ but it was pretty obvious he was gonna head for the hospital instead.
While Riley was out I sat in the living room up-cycling a skirt I bought at a yard sale. It was black with a red and pink floral pattern of assorted hues. I was turning it into a short sleeve top using one of my old black skin tight crop tops for the sleeves and a built in bra support. Huey was sitting next to me at on the couch; He had on the history channel but he wasn't really watching it. He kept glancing over at me, it was a little annoying but I tried to focus on the task at hand; lest I jab myself with the needle.
Huey's POV
I kept glancing over at Gwen. I couldn't help it, those symptoms came up so suddenly, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned. "If you're worried about my anemic blood, don't be. The symptoms only spark once every 2-3 years. Since the last spark up was less than a week ago it won't happen for a long time." She spoke.
I raised a brow before speaking myself. "I'm more curious about the cause." "The cause is none of your business." she stated bluntly, and air of anger in her voice. Clearly it was a sore subject. *Ding dong* I got up to answer the door, the agitated aura still apparent from Gwen.
It was a delivery man. "I have a package for a Gwen Burson." I heard Gwen jump from the couch as she practically ran over. "Is that a new Sari?" Sari? Isn't that a traditional Indian outfit? "Are you Gwen?" the delivery man asked and she nodded excitedly. He handed her the clipboard to sign for the package and then swapped it for the box after she signed. She closed the door and kneeled on the floor immediately opening the box.
I don't think I've seen her so excited before. Out of the box she pulled an extravagant gold and blue Sari as well as a matching matha patti, (traditional Indian head jewelry) Her eyes lit up as she examined the cloth. I couldn't help but let a small smile play on my lips as I watched her. This was definitely a side of Gwen I've never seen before.
Gwen's POV
As I was examining the new Sari Rin had sent me I couldn't contain my excitement. All the Saris Rin sends me when she goes away are always so beautiful. I couldn't wait to try it on. I got up in a hurry, picking the box up in my stead, and ran upstairs to try it on. I immediately shut the door and stripped out of my prior outfit, grabbing my blouse to be worn under the Sari.
Quickly I wrapped the Sari around my form, and adorned my head with the Matha Patti. I then went to the mirror on top of my dresser and did a 360 to look at my new clothing. I almost squealed with joy; it was beautiful on me! I should get a picture so Rin can see how it looks. I grabbed my camera and made my way back downstairs.
Huey's POV
After Gwen went upstairs I went back into the living and sat back down on the couch to continue watching TV. A few minutes later I hear Gwen come back downstairs and stop at the entranceway. I glanced over and my breath caught in my throat. She looked incredible. She was wearing the new Sari she just got and it suited her perfectly. I couldn't believe what a difference a simple clothing change could make.
"Huey can you take a picture of me in my new Sari. I wanna send it to Rin so she can see how I look in it." She spoke and I had to remind myself how to nod as I go off the couch and tried to clear my head. We went near the stairs since the lighting was better and I proceeded to take a couple pictures. Afterwards Gwen went back upstairs and didn't come back down the rest of the night.
