I'm back xP This chapter is based off of the song My Demons by Starset. I have recently become obsessed with it and so this happened. Enjoy!

Oh, and I have put a link on my profile of my biggest inspiration: akurosa. All of her works are incredible-check them out.

Everyone thinks he is stupid (which is something he cannot deny) but he sees things.

He sees and understands how people feel, what they truly want. When Zoro said he wouldn't go so low as to be a pirate, he saw the desire to be free and strong. When Usopp said that he was a brave pirate, he saw the desire to be free and make all of his stories come true. When Sanji said he had a debt to pay, he saw the desire to be free and find his dream. When Nami said 'go away', he saw the desire to be free and smile. When Chopper said he couldn't go with them, he saw the desire to be free and help everyone. When Robin said she wanted to die, he saw the desire to be free and accepted. When Franky said he couldn't leave, he saw the desire to be free and make it to the end. When Brook said he couldn't join them, he saw the desire to be free and happy.

He saw through all the ways the crew tried to hide, all the lies they wove to prevent potential pain. He saw that they were all trying to run away from their own demons, trying to stop themselves from devouring others in their own darkness.

And he saved them. He brought them all the chance to chase their dreams and now they can all smile freely.

However, he could not see his own self.

When the quiet leaves him still, the musician creates noise.

When he is whispering apologies, the shipwright asks for help.

When sleep will not come for him, the archaeologist reads him a story.

When injuries leave him delirious, the doctor soothes the pain.

When a hand is placed on the scar, the navigator places a tangerine on the other hand.

When he wanders aimlessly, the cook makes an extra platter of meat.

When doesn't laugh along, the sniper plays with his food.

When sobs and screams interrupt sleep, the swordsman wakes and reminds him.

They all have their own demons that they themselves cannot see. They all fight silent battles, ones they thought they had already won, and sometimes it can be too much.

(But all it takes is him to feel okay and so they return the favor). Always.

That's not how I meant this to turn out...but that happens a lot. Words tend to do that. Anyways, if you have any requests, especially something I have not done at all (i.e., marines), please let me know. I need help getting through this! R&R and have a nice day:]
